We got this as a gift when my son was only a couple months old and he is now 19 months and has always loved it. It plays several different tunes when you press the big sunshine button and all of them are really nice familiar tunes and aren't too short or too long. The keys are nice for chewing on or rattling and they have pictures of baby faces which our son likes (you can put your own pictures in though). About a few months ago it finally stopped working and my husband opened it and found the wires shorted probably from too much drool or something. However, our son loved it so much we decided to buy a replacement here on Amazon. He is so happy now that he has his toy working again! It is perfect size to take in the car to keep him busy or right now we have it in a little toy basket by his potty. He often carries it around the house playing with it though. I really recommend this toy for babies up to toddlers!

My 11 month old son loved this toy when he was about 3 months old. It soothed him when he was grumpy and kept him company during car rides. Today, however, he got his finger stuck under the button. It deformed his nail bed and he was unable to get his finger out without assistance from me. This toy is fine for a younger, not very strong baby, but as soon as he/she gains finger dexterity and strength, they can wedge their finger under the button very easily. Please do not give this toy to your child!!! I threw this right in the trash after the incident. Please, please do not buy this toy. There are many other (safer) baby toy choices.

So, I purchased this for my little one...appx 5 mo old at the time, he's 9 mo and still using it. There are, however, some drawbacks. The music is wayyy too loud and there's no volume control or switch to just turn it off, so basically we removed the batteries after about 5 minutes and never turned that function back on. The wheels are pretty crummy even on smooth floors like our wood ones. Imagine an old grocery cart you struggle to push through the store...half the times the rear wheels arent even on the ground all the way due to his changing position inside the cart. We never used the rocker function because...well, it's kind of boring to sit stationary in a toy you know moves around the floor (just as my kiddo). I do like the 2 height adjustments, although there appears to be some joint fatigue now around the axis where the cross-bars are. The plastic is turning white so I probably wont be able to use it much longer. I did like that I found a walker, they certainly are not easy to find...of course, just days after ordering this Target rolled out a whole bunch of em, so I wish I would have waited before spending twice as much money. I can say this, it's sturdy it works it does seem to lower to an acceptable height for the younger kids that are ready for a walker...beyond that....wouldnt necessarily pick this up in a store.

I am very disappointed by this toy as I taught that Baby Einstein stands for good quality. Overall the toy is pretty boring my little one (5 months old) at least ignores it and the classical music it plays has such a bad sound quality that it hurts.

ABC HOUSE SMALL

My 1-year old daughter loves to play with the blocks. She clicks them together to make noise, knocks down my towers, and tries to stack one on top or remove just one block. She giggles when they fall and I pretend to be upset that my tower has fallen. I can see her concentrating when trying to grab just the top block, and then laughing when she knocks the whole thing down.

The nice thing is that this is a toy that can grow with her. She obviously can't tell letters yet, but knows some objects (like kitty-cat and butterfly) by their photos.

On the bad side: The house the blocks stay in is flimsy and not well sanded; the plastic shields that hold the blocks in place slide out easily and do not have very smooth edges; it's messy because the blocks go everywhere (but what house with kids doesn't have toys hiding under the couch anyway).

Overall great developmental toy that can grow with her developing mind.

First let me say that my son does enjoy playing with these blocks. However, this is a nightmare toy for me and I used to keep it out of his reach most of the time (until I recently just got rid of it all together).

* Blocks would just end up all over the place and my son did not have the patience to sit there and put them each in their little compartments (so I ended up cleaning them up every time). Granted, it was a good skill builder for him to help me put them away, but I ended up doing most of the work still.

* The tower is double sided, so just when you get one side filled up with blocks my son would try to turn it over to do the other side and they would all fall out.

* The tower does have little plastic sheets that slide in (very loosely I must say) to keep the blocks from falling out. However there is no way to keep that plastic from sliding out, which it constantly would. You could not carry this thing around with it's cute little handle because the plastic would easily slide off the track and all the blocks would come tumbling out (leaving a very frustrated child).

Overall: not worth the hassle. Now we just have a collection of wooden blocks that we keep in a big bucket.

Mary Meyer Brownie Bear Family, Baby Brownie Bear, 9"

This little guy is sooo soft and the size is just right for a baby 0-12 months of age, it was the perfect size for my 4 month old, he's 6 months now and doesn't sleep without it...

Brownie bear is very cute and soft. Ideal for an infant in that it has sewn eyes and nose and is small, although my 5 month old has been able to pull out small tufts of its fur. My daughter is able to grasp this bear and hold it. A great first teddy!

Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Snap-Lock Caterpillar

My mother in law purchased this for our 8 month old son. I was very appreciative for the thoughtfulness but I expected it to be just another item for the toy box, boy was I wrong. Our son loves this toy!!! It has parts that rattle, spin and turn in addition to great nubs for chewing. I think that his favorite part is ripping each section apart. It takes a little but of effort for him to get it apart even though he is large and strong for his age, so I think that aspect will still be entertaining for a while. Overall I am thrilled that she purchased this toy for him and I would definitely purchase it as a gift for a friend.

I am pleased with the Fisher Price Caterpillar. It was a gift for my new little granddaughter, Hailey. The colors are very vivid and it is another quality product from this company. I have been purchasing Fisher Price toys since 1974 when I had my first baby. Since then, I have purchased dozens of Fisher Price toys through the growing up years of my six children and now through the additions of 17 grandchildren. In fact, my grandchildren are still enjoying play time with toys that their parents played with including the Sesame Street Club House and the Fisher Price Castle.

My 6 month old likes this toy. Its a lot bigger than it looks in the pictures. Its not huge, just bigger than I though. The bug comes apart into "beads" that are each about 3 inches long. My daughter chews on the antennas. She's too little to try to put the bug back together, so the pieces are kind of everywhere at the moment. Overall, its a good little toy.

She loved the various segments with the different colors and sounds, but should also enjoy pulling it apart and reassembling when she's older.

This toy is a basic snap type toy my only complaint is its really hard to pull apart my 7 month old is no where near strong enough to pull it apart I sometimes struggle.

Plan Toy Punch and Drop

Love love love love this toy. Santa brought it to my then 10-month-old son, and I thought he wouldn't really get into it until he was older. But within a couple of weeks, he was happily banging the balls down with the hammer, and putting them back into the holes. FANTASTIC for both gross and fine motor skills (takes a bit of aiming to get the ball back into the holes). What do I love about this toy?

1. Unlike flashy plastic toys, this actually keeps my son occupied for 30 minutes at a time. I can actually cook an entire meal because of this toy.

2. Extremely durable, fantastic craftsmanship. All wood, dovetailed construction and Plan Toys guarantees the safety of their toys. Unlike other drop and hammer toys, the balls are not plastic (generally, the plastic balls are squeezed through the holes). These balls are wooden and are kept up inside the holes by an additional gear-like piece, which the banging shifts until the balls fall through.

3. At first, I didn't like how there is not "catcher" for the balls when they roll out and go scattering across the kitchen floor, but well...he so loves this toy, he will crawl after the balls, bring them back and continue banging, which gives me even more time to maybe even whip up dessert. Sometimes they get lost under sofas and behind curtains, but oh well.

4. Educational: teaches cause and effect, tool usage, gross motor skills, aiming, colors. Gives him a real sense of accomplishment.

cons:

1. Not sure if ours is defective or if it's a design flaw, but with one of the holes, the ball gets wedged inside about 50% of the time and does not roll out. A little frustrating for him at first because he would think the ball had rolled off somewhere, but once he figured it out, it did add a new interesting twist to the puzzle for him.

2. No storage for the hammer. The Plan Toys miracle pounding toy has a neat little notch for the hammer, wish they had done the same here.

3. Love the wooden balls but man, they sure do some damage when thrown.

I got this toy very early. At 4M my son liked to hold the balls. To date there is no other ball (he owns many) that is so pleasurable to hold. By 6M he enjoyed putting them in the hole (I would retrieve the ball for him sometimes). When he was learning to crawl he would drag himself about holding the ball and pounding it into the floor. He would try carpet then wood. Sigh, I try to remind myself that this will be the first of many pits in the floors while raising a rowdy boy. He is almost 9M and he loves this toy. Sometimes the balls roll away under furniture and will either try to put other balls into the box (doesn't work) or he will play the box. I still haven't given him the hammer yet. I intend to save it until he is older.

The most interesting part of this toy is how long it will hold his attention. I have seen him play with this toy for an alarming amount of time. 35 consecutive minutes has been the absolute longest. Albeit doing different things with the toy not just the punch and drop part. He was particularly interested while learning "in" "out" kinds of concepts.

This means I can take just one toy with us when we, say, fold laundry or do dishes.

Another surprising aspect of this toy is that we can play together. Three balls and two hands makes it easy start teaching sharing. The joy seeing all three balls drop far exceeds his need place each ball in the hole. However, sometimes he does need to push each ball.

I have seen this little boy do many harsh things with toy. I don't think one would be able to tell by looking at it. Very well constructed. There is nothing about this toy that makes me nervous. This includes the color stains of the balls.

I read the good reviews before purchasing as a Christmas present. My 12 month old grandson is extremely active and I thought he would enjoy hammering. The set is well made and heavy. We had to take the hammer away as he was trying to use it on the house windows. The wooden balls are heavy and he throws them which he thinks is great fun, however the dogs now avoid him. I think this may still be a good toy once he is a little older.

My one year old son loves this well-made wooden toy. He pushes the balls with his hand for now & keeps putting them back on top to push through again. He also loves to play with the balls. He'll carry them around, bang them together, try to use them with other toys & we'll roll them back and forth. I think later he'll use the hammer to hit the balls & it will be fun all over again. For now, he uses the hammer on his xylophone!

He has so many plastic disposable toys, many of which are already broken in one way or another, but this is not one of them.

Below is what I wrote yesterday. I contacted Plan directly right after and within 24 hours the president had received my email and had someone send a new one to me. I hope they make the bottom sturdier in the future, but the responsiveness is impressive. I will keep Plan on my list of toy companies.

This was the first "Plan" product that I purchased for my then 10 month old daughter. When I received it, I was concerned because the bottom is made out of cardboard (you can see it peeking out in the picture) and the holes required such force to get the balls through that my 6 year old didn't want to play with it. Within a month, the bottom was crushed so the toy is unusable. I don't know if she stepped on it, which is my guess, or she hit it with the mallet in frustration because the balls wouldn't go through, but given my daughter is very small and light for her age, the cardboard had to be cheap for her to crush it in. Really, Plan, can't you put plywood on the bottom like you have on the top so it's less likely to break?

Unfortunately, I was too busy until now (3.5 months from purchase) to see if I could get this replaced and now I've missed the window for returns. So, learn from me.

Sassy Baby's Bucket of Beads Scented

I bought this for my infant for Christmas. I have had no problems snapping the beads together or taking them apart again. My daughter loves to play with them, mostly just chewing on them. She loves the container too. I take the top off and set it in front of her and let her get the beads out herself. She loves to play with the lid too, shaking it so that the handle clacks against the lid. My older daughter puts the beads together for her to play with. Overall, I think it was a good investment and she'll get years of use out of the toy.

I specifically wanted the beads show in the photo. My son loved them at his physical therapists office. I've had other pop beads, but really wanted the shape, texture, and color of the ones I ordered. Too bad the ones I got were completely different! And there was no invoice or receipt whatsoever in the package so I couldn't easily return them.

This pool, like most or all on here, has a regular bottom. My Mother0in0Law had gotten one last summer for a little less from a local store and it lets you inflate the bottom, so there's more cushioning for the kiddos. I really wish this had it, but it seems most if not all on here don't. It did well our first time and I expect it to be fine the next times.

We opened the package up this weekend, and it is the perfect size for a few kids to splash around without breaking mom and dad's back filling it up with a bucket. Don't know how durable this is since we've only used it once, but at this price, you can't go wrong.

My husband and I bought this pool for to use as a ball pit for our 12 month old daughter. So far it seems like a good blow up pool, and we love the color's of it much better than the one shown in the original pic. We did not have a pump to blow it up with but it did not take long at all (aobut 10 min) to blow it up by mouth (we took turns). We bought this toy for our twins for Christmas and they LOVE it! The colorful circles spin as the clown is pulled and they can also be removed so the kids can chew them or roll them around. Besides being a beautiful toy that will grow with our children, it is exceptionally well made. The paint doesnt come off, the pieces are well joined and the pull string is thick and sturdy. my girls are 10 months and they already know how to pull it while crawling (of course the string is tied shorter for safety) I have other HABA toys and they are simply a wonderful toy company!

My son loves toys that he can drag behind him and this is his new favorite toy. Even my older daughter likes to pretend it is a "dog" on a leash. Haba's toys are always well made and very durable, I bought baby toys for my daughter 4 years ago that still look brand new after 2 kids. Lamaze Hula Girl Stroller Toy

When I first saw this toy online I had to have it for Baby, although I'm still pregnant. I really like the fact that it can be strapped to a stroller and when I went to scope it out at a store, I instantly fell for the big hair, big eyes, and sassy hula getup. The rattle is very soft and gentle and I love the fact that it's so plush. The hair is all over the place, and I find myself occasionally trying to smush it down to make her more presentable"! Also, this is the ONLY plush [lamaze] toy so far that I found for baby that will be BROWN like her! Love that part!

This gentle rattle was the first toy that interested my little one. The hula skirt is made of 'taggies', the hair is thick enough for her vicious grip not to destroy. The velcro strap works well. Cute, gentle, not annoying to be in the same room with.

I loved this online. We have several similar Lamaze toys but this one seems the least interesting. It's super cute for being a kid's hula girl and rattle/rings when she is moved but I haven't found anything good to put her on yet.
