The idea of this toy is great. The construction of this toy is awful. From the minute my daughter started playing with it the springs would stick, therefore the pegs would not pop up. Every single time she played with it I would have to get out the screw driver, unscrew the bottom of the toy and re-adjust the springs....and do it all over again, and again and again. (you get the idea).

Don't waste your time with this one...just plain no good.

This was given as a gift to my sone for his first birthday and now at 2.5 he is still fascinated by it. It's a simple mechanism of springs and pegs but he's loved learning how to make the pegs "pop" and never tires of watching them fly. It's been a simple and valuable toy to teach counting and colors.

Ty Beanie Babies - Spike the Rhinoceros (Retired)

I am a biologist and science teacher so realism is a must. This Beanie baby is great because Ty not only made the rhino look realistic, but they also managed to make a rhino cute somehow. Just looking at him makes me smile and think "Aww he is so cute!" The name Spike is just perfect for him too. I have had Spike for quite a number of years. He went to college with me and went to classes in my sweatshirt's front pocket. He was the encouragement I needed to get through the toughest courses like organic chemistry. I held him, carried him around, and pet him millions of times, yet he still looks brand new. If I had a son, this is a toy I would buy him.

I've had one of these fellas in my travel kit for 5 years. He's kind of a mascot. He's also incredibly resilient and durable. Only reason I got a second one is that I dread the thought of losing a goofy photo-op with him, if I were to lose the original!

Though soft if taken care of, and desirable to a collecter, there isn't really anything unique about him. Ty Beanie Babies get better every year, and in the year 2005, you're bound to find better-made, more colorfully decorated Beanies then this one. Gray really is a dull color, but if you love rhinos, I suppose you'd like him.

Tolo Toys Activity Play Cube

I have been looking for a toy small enough to travel but entertains for an extended period of time. I purchased this toy for my 9 month old who immediately loved it and played with it for about an hour. He has his favorite pieces already and by flipping/rotating the cube I can update the current side he's interested in or change it altogether. What a treasure for both mommy and baby.

This is a well made, educational, bright, strong toy. Great value for the price. A good toy for developing motor skills, my 8 month old loves it.

Got this for my son around 8 months. He has never been in love with it, but it provides reliable distraction on a fairly regular basis. I most use this in the car with my son, and he likes it more there since he is strapped in and sort of forced to focus on it (when he's not strapped in, he's crawling all over and gets bored by stuff like this). The quality is excellent.

Jockey Dog Rider Pet Costume

I purchased this for my 1 yr. old great dane in hopes that it would fit her. Well it does fit around her neck, but not around her torso. However, I should be able to easily add an extension to attach to the velcro already sewn on the straps. It looks a little small on her, but funny anyways.

My only complaint about the product is the lack of quality. The sewing job on the straps is not that great and is made out of cheaper materials. I guess I expected a little more from a $20 costume. I would expect this quality at half the price.

Now I just hope she will keep it on long enough to get a few good pictures on Halloween!

Costume needs alterations to fit larger dogs. On my male greyhound, the strap around the neck fit fine, but the torso strap was a few inches too short. I made an 10" extension for the torso strap, and that allowed the costume to fit securely around the dog's torso, with a few inches remaining for overlap. The tag that came with the costume said it "Fits Medium to Large Dogs" and then lists a size chart (neck size and back length) on the reverse. The size chart should also list torso size, since the torso strap is key to holding the costume on the dog.

If your dog likes to run around, this costume will need re-adjusting during wear. During trick or treat, this costume kept sliding off the dog's back and was frequently hanging on the side of his torso.

Overall, this is an average quality mass-produced dog costume. It's cute and gets a few laughs from people who notice your dog has a jockey riding on its back.

I bought this for my German shepherd for Halloween this year. Once it arrived I was excited to put it on . When I went to I found out it was too small. It said it fit most sizes but I could tell it was a size for a small dog but instead of fussing and sending it back I just got sOme strips of Velcro I had lying around the house and extended the straps to fit. The jockey was a bit small on him but I loved it anyway. I'm sure I'll use it again and again because my dog who is a bit fussy didn't seem to notice it once it was on. I think its a great costume even though it was a bit small. I would recommend it but to those people who would get upset if it's not the right fit it's not for you. But for the other dog owners who know it's a one night costume who's dog doesn't want it anyway, I say go for it

I bought this when my daughter was 7 months old, and she was immediately fascinated. At 9 1/2 months, she still loves it! My only concern is that it is a fairly heavy toy overall and the tambourine is quite heavy and hard. She has never hit herself or anyone else with the toy or its detachable instruments, but I do watch her closely because of this concern. Overall, I think this is a great toy; fun and musical but not too loud or annoying.

Disappointed with this one. It's a hybrid of sorts: it tries to be a song maker, a piano, and a stacker all in one. Unfortunately for small children, it's too bulky to really stack, and the drum and tambourine are too difficult to remove. The piano plays pre-set songs, or tracks of songs, rather than notes, so children have to listen thru before they engage again. Would have preferred individual sounds as (at least) an option. Because of the way the sound settings work, and the ease in which the cymbal can activate, ours essentially plays one song over and over again. We were definitely hoping for more, although it's not without its charms at times.

My daughter got this for her 1st birthday, and now seven months later, it's still one of her favorite toys! She loves all the action, the play cymbal, the little drum pad, the tambourine...my only negative comments is that it's a little bulky for storage, takes up lots of room in the toy box. I have to say I like the nice mix of music, slightly different from the usually childrens toy music, not nearly as annoying!

Note that the only other two reviews, both giving it five stars, are from people who do not yet have their babies "here" yet. In other words, they've never used it.

Nothing against those people, but the fatal flaw in this product is that once you actually put your baby into the car seat you realize that the dangling objects dangle less than an inch from their face! This is not a toy for them to watch and be entertained, it's to make sure they can see nothing at all. Think of it more as a blindfold than a toy.

Upside is that both previous reviewers are right in that the soft toys and soft wrap around "bar" would be best in an impact and the design is super cute, but again all of this is worth nothing because you'll never use this product because your kid will hate it. And can you blame 'em? Put the palm of your hand an inch from your face. That's what this is like.

I received something similar as a baby shower gift, but I wanted this color scheme, as it is more girly.

It is a lot bigger than what I was expecting but I have not complaints! I love the unique design of this car seat toy. Also they state that car seat toys are not safe if they were to be in a collision since the hard toys can hit the baby, but this car seat toy is perfectly safe since it is a soft pillowy fabric! Our daughter is not here yet but I already put this on her car seat and can't wait to see how she will use it!

i am really happy with this dog! bought it for my almost 3 year old son because it looks like our nearly ancient dog (a mix breed). i think my husband might like to have it around for when our dog dies too, it might be a nice comfort to have this softie toy dog around for both of them to talk about and cuddle with and share memories etc..

it has a happy sweet expression (some other plush toys i have bought really dont have happy or nice faces...), and it is poseable, it will sit up without drooping or lay down flat as shown. the body is nicely understuffed for a very cuddly feeling. there are beans in the bum and feet. the shape of the dog has a perfect skinny spot right under the arms where a child will hold it to carry around or to squeeze it to hug. there is no stuffing in the ears so they are very soft.

the fur is quite soft to touch and all the seams are solid. it is well made for the price.

Rubie's Costume Baby Bunting Vanilla Bunny Costume

So I chose this particular costume link/seller because they had the best price on the market. And believe me, I do tons and tons of research before I buy anything online. I ordered this last week, arrived shortly after order. Shipping time is great. This is a rabbit/bunny costume, but not the exact costume pictured. The packaging (internal) that the costume comes in is correct for the costume pictured. But the costume itself? Not so much. Something's fishy here...and it's on the part of the seller. It's very similar, but not quite. A cheap copy at best. It's not horrible, but it's not the one I intended to buy. Here's what tipped me off: When I opened the large envelope it came in, the internal packaging was a plastic bag taped over(now normally when these costumes are bought in stores, there's a different plastic packaging. And not only that, there's a hanger. This one did not come with a hanger. The packaging insert/display cover was damaged, and folded. It had a slot where the hanger should be, and yet there was no hanger. And the costume was obviously just thrown in there. The materials aren't the same, though close. The "bowtie" is a different pattern and texture all together, and it's not "3D" like it shows, but a cheap polyester "ribbon" tied into a bow and sewn on with a few messy stitches. Another obvious clue to it's "counterfeit" nature is the feet. the "paws" are completely different from the picture as well. Though, to my surprise after figuring out it was a "fake", better than the original. There's grip bumps and the pads are sewn in.

So all in all, a decent knockoff. But I gave it such a low scoring since it's an obvious fake, which is why it's at half price from other sellers. I recommend going for one of the more expensive ones unless you just don't care. I am a bit over the normal level of OCD, therefore I am a bit miffed. If you don't care, by all means get this one. It's not absolutely terrible, though I will be making a separate inner lining for the costume, the material to me seems it would bother an infant's delicate skin.

The material is horrible. Every time you touch it you'll have it on you. It's not hair, it's like this thin thread and it's horrible to clean up. It was such a nice costume and she loves her carrot, but the material makes this a horrible purchase.

Gund Baby Clayton Happi Squirrel 13" Plush by Dena Design

This is a very cute squirrel, nice size, and matches the Dena Happi Tree Nursery decor. Love how the back of the tail is a material (same design as wings on Gund Baby Chester Happi Owl Plush). The material gives the squirrel a different look and texture. I do wish the squirrel was stuffed more and not so flat. It is hard to make him stand up even when propping up against a pillow. An accessory piece at the moment since the baby is too small to play with it, but it seems well made. Arrived in good condition.

This toy is as adorable as I was expecting! I can't get over the cuteness. Its also well made and soft and cuddly and much bigger than I was expecting. Well worth the money!

Winfun Grow With Me Melody Gym

I thought this was the cutest thing so I bought it for my rather active 3mnth old. She seemed to like it, it made sounds and lite up so she was satisfied, but after just a few days it wouldn't shut off. The lights would constantly flash even when it was "off". I returned the item and decided against getting another...the product itself is fairly cheap and really not worth the money, especially since it doesn't last but a week. (in my case) I wouldn't recommend this product.

We got this for our 4 month old and she loves it. She and has fun kicking the dangling toys and is entertained by the colors, lights and sounds. We recently went on vacation and took this toy with us. It was simple to disassemble for packing yet is still sturdy when put back together. It is easy to rotate the base so it can grow with our little one. Our two year old also has fun playing with her sister's toy!

UPDATE 9/28/12

A few weeks after we bought this the lights started flashing non-stop (even when it was in the off position). We changed the batteries and it started working fine again. 2 weeks after we put in new batteries the light flashing problem started again. My guess is that the battery power is low, but I don't understand how this toy could drain through brain new batteries so quickly. We really liked this toy and keeps our daughter entertained, but the light flashing issue is an annoying problem and the toy is not worth the money if you have to put in brand new batteries every two weeks. Not sure if we got a 'dud' or if all of them are like this...

My 5 month old loves this toy when she can get it to work. The part that the baby is supposed to pull for the toy to light up and make noise is at a difficult angle and even when she does pull it or swat the toys it has to be done with a certain amount of pressure and at the correct angle for it to work. The problem is that the toys need to be pulled down at a backwards angle rather than straight down or on a diagonal forward, like the baby naturally does.

My 10 month old daughter likes music and things that make noise in general so I thought this would be a fun toy for her. But it's not quite as I expected. I could only get it to play two notes and the sound is not very pleasing to the ear. In fact my daughter is very much scared of this toy. She starts crying when I play it to show her how it works. Even when I stop playing it and set it down, she looks at it with a terrified expression on her face as if this toy that makes the horrible noise is going to come and get her. Cute baby-safe design, but not a very musical accordion!

This is a toddler toy, and as such it's okay. It just doesn't make anything that remotely resembles music, just two wheezy, sharp sounds. It's good for the "play idea" of an accordion, but not much for the "play idea" of making music.
