Angry Birds Plush 5-Inch Black Bird with Sound

This is one of the smaller birds (about the size of a baseball) but it has quality plush and appliques it looks suitably angry! To get the sound, you press the forehead (between the eyes and the crest) and it plays 3 different sounds from the game. The sounds come at random rather than a sequence, which is nice. One of the sounds is unique to that particular bombing bird.

They have a larger base so they sit still without rolling over despite being ball shaped. The noise maker is suitably padded and you can throw this around quite a bit without worrying it will break the sound box. This bird has been airborn quite often and hasn't stopped working a bit.

We have all of the sizes of the birds and this size is nice and compact a bit firmer than the larger ones.

In all, it's expensive for the size but it is a quality piece.

to my MAJOR disgust and to their MAJOR disappointment there was a tag underneath the angry bird tag on it that said "Warning: contains lead. May be Harmful if eaten or chewed. May generate dust containing lead."

are you kidding me? first of all this is not mentioned in the listing what so ever, but on top of that it contains lead and is rated for ages 1+?

needless to say this was a great disapointment, and they were promptly returned.

The black bird which is my favorite bird as being the bomber bird, is a great plush toy for kids. It makes three different sounds. It is very light for its size which is nice so you can throw it around the house. Great birthday present for kids who love the Angry Birds and also great if you just want too collect them. The bomber bird is identical to the bird on the app.

The weak point of the bird is that the soundbox breaks easily and would be extremely difficult to fix.

Teach My Toddler Shapes was given to our one year young great niece. It fits into the bag which her mom brings whenever anyone watches her so that the babysitters can work with her using this educational toy. She can find the shapes, and match the puzzle pieces, but she does not have the dexterity to get them into their place on the foam board, we have to help. She loves looking at the shapes on the poster and when we ask, she can point to some that we name. This little one loves to learn and whenever she sees the transparent plastic envelope with this toy inside, she fusses until we place it on the floor and play it with her. Taggies Ring Ring Telephone

First, I'll say that all three of my kids, especially the older two, like to play with this. However I was a bit surprised when I opened it up in person because online, it looked more red to me... but in reality the whole back side of this toy phone is pink, and several of the taggies are in pink/purple tones. I like the phone and think it's cute, and we love the taggies concept. And I don't want to get into the whole girl-toy boy-toy debate, but if you are someone who will mind your little boy playing with a pink phone then I thought you'd want to know this.

So my baby is only 8 months old but he had a hard time pushing the button on this phone to have it make noise. The button is kind of hard to find really, I think it was supposed to be underneath the 2 or maybe the 5 but it is inside the soft plush of the phone and moves aroung a bit. Otherwise the phone is cute, it isn't real fancy, I bought it for the taggies since my other kids have liked tags as babies. We will see if my baby now likes them as well.

I bought the monkey blanket because It was cute and would go well with other carter's monkey theme items I purchased. However I thought I was getting a brown monkey holding a grey blanket. Instead the entire blanket was brown, no grey at all. It is still cute but I was looking forward to the grey and brown combination that would have coordinated well with the bananas over mommy carter's bibs,burp cloths and onesies that I purchased. That aside,I do love this blanket, It is soft and velvety,great quality. Would have given a 5 star if it was the right colour.

PURPOSE OF PURCHASE:

My daughter had just turned 11 months old. I was looking for a fill-and-spill toy that she would not outgrow as quickly as many other baby toys and I was hoping for something that she would use for creative play for the next couple of years. We were skeptical at first because we felt that, although the price is reasonable, we still did not want to throw away $20 and she might not care for it or it may be a little mature for her.

I am so glad that we bought it. It was the last of the gifts that we bought for her first Christmas, and I just know it was meant for her to have.

DESCRIPTION:

Everything is made of hard plastic, except for the checked "blanket" which is like a handkerchief. The basket is packed pretty full with everything inside, but she can easily fit it all back in without help. She loves carrying all of the pieces around in her little hands. (There are many pieces and you don't want them lost!) The full basket is a little heavy for a baby. She did not carry the entire basket around until recently (14 months) and still prefers not to, but she has always taken it off of her toyshelf and sat with it closeby in the floor. I can watch this thing growing with her. She likes to put the food pieces and forks in her mouth. And she LOVES the sounds it makes when the lid opens and closes. She loves the songs that it sings, and let me tell you, the voice is too cute and sweet. She dances while she plays and tries to sing.

POSITIVE:

I love it because it is easy to wipe clean (even though I haven't had to clean it yet), it is durable, it is fun, adorable, AND VERY educational!!

I had not realized before she started playing with it, but it teaches manners (saying please & thank you) and some prepositions, such as: put one cup IN the other cup, spread the blanket ON the ground UNDER the tree...a picnic WITH my friend. It sings the colors of the rainbow. It counts up to four often. It sings short songs about how many sides each shape has, and each of the three foods on each plate is a different shape (triangle pie slice, square cracker, circle orange slice). It asks you to find each shape. The plates are similar to wooden puzzles (only plastic), and she is learning to put the foods in place.

She also LOVES music, and this thing is constantly singing. It even reminds you to push the butterfly button to hear a song. She can play with this toy 100% by herself, and I know that she will not outgrow it any time soon because it is also my favorite of her toys. And when her cousins (4yrs & 11yrs) came to visit, this is the toy that they played with for 2 hours straight! She plays with it more than any other toy (and she has too many toys). We have never had to replace the batteries since she first got it.

NEGATIVE:

The cups are not intended to hold liquids. They each have two holes in the bottom that you could almost stick a pencil through. I like that she will have to use her imagination and also I will not have to worry about the inside of the picnic basket getting sticky with juice and I am glad that ants will not be stored in there. (But some people would rather have usable cups, and if your child tried to use them, it would be messy, so I thought I would mention this.)

The only real negative that I can find is that the talking basket may ask you to find the triangle, but it has no way to know whether you found it, so it does not correct you or praise you. It never responds or gives hints or anything. So basically, it just randomly asks your child to find things, but she may never know if her answer was correct (or wrong!). Therefore, I recommend that Mommy plays with her.

BOTTOM LINE:

I say it is well worth every cent (and more)!

this is a great toy! very durable, bold colors. everything fits into the basket so it's easy to store and not lose pieces. My 18 month old daughter loves playing pretend and this is a great toy for her. Plus, all the food is a shape that fits in it's on spot on the plates, like a puzzle. It helps her with shapes, colors and I can get her to clean up when she's done. And she loves carrying this around the house.

I have never written a review before, but had to for this toy. My 2 1/2 year old daughter and 11 month old son play with this toy constantly and fight over it so much so I am thinking about buying another one. We have more toys than anyone I know. I know the good, bad and easily broken ones on the market. This toy has everything you'd want for your kids.

Sassy Teething Tail Fish

I purcased this teether for my 10 and a half month old daughter. When I gave it to her she really liked playing with it. About 15 min later I see that the had bitten off some of the orange part and had it in her mouth. I looked at the teether to confirm, then I swiped her mouth to get out the orange rubber. I am so happy that we were at home and playing together, otherwise she may have choked on the rubber. I do not recommend this product.

My son did not love or hate this compared to other teethers but there was nothing wrong with it just average but decent for the price and cute

This is my 9-month old's favorite teether. We put it in the freezer and he loves to soothe himself with it when it's super-cold. It's easy to hold, very cute and seems sturdy. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the black part of the eyes has scraped off. I don't care about that aesthetically, but I have to wonder where the black paint went? His belly? Other than that, I'm very happy with it.

But it is kind of small so if you have doubts i would go to Toys' R Us and look at it before buying it. This is really for smaller kids 1-3; perfect size! The price was awsome I bought it for $89.99, everywhere else was around $120. Also, on top of the unbeatable price it came sooner than expected! Very fast delivery!

My son really liked this but it stopped charging after the first charge. Also note that it cannot be returned due to some hazardous/flammable material warning which is now making me rethink about using this as a toy at all for infants.

My son just turned 1 and we got him his car for his birthday! he absolutely loves it. he is really good at pushing the drive button and loves the talking features. i wish it had a reverse button but that is my only complaint. it works great indoors on carpet and hard wood as well as pavement outside. we haven't had it long enough to know what the battery life will be like but we haven't charged it again and he's been using it for 2 weeks.

My son got this gift for his 1st birthday. Right away he was mostly interested in the blue button (which makes noises.) Everytime he would push, he would smile and giggle. Now, after having the toy for a little while he has figured out how to make it drive by pushing the red button. We have it in our kitchen and it's the first thing he wants to play with when he wakes up in the morning. He still hasn't figured out how to steer it, but he's only 1 year old and he will figure that out eventually. He loves the toy!

Also, I've read some complaints about kids not fitting. I have no idea how this is true. My 1 year old is 24 lbs and 30 inches long and fits fine with plenty of room to spare. I've also had my nieces and nephews over. My almost 5 year old niece was able to fit and drive it too.

Fisher-Price Discover 'n Grow Push 'N See Kaleidoscope

My husband bought this for my 5.5 month-old son. Although my son hasn't completely figured it out yet, his face just lit up the first time he pushed the handle down. And he played with this for more than an hour at his first try. That alone was worth the money since he usually only plays with a toy for a few seconds. I highly recommend this (although the laugh is a little bit evil).

Pros: Easy to use at around 6 months

Six other babies have played with this toy and they all loved it too

The ears are just the right size for teething babies

Cons: A little large

The laugh is evil and annoying

Update: This, like all battery-operated children's toys, needs an off switch. Not only does my baby love this, but so does my dog. Now we hear an evil laugh coming from the next room, both day and night, because the dog has figured out how to push the handle down with his nose.

At 2 months, baby intently watches the twirling black & white design. I think it will still be of good play value when she's big enough to manipulate it herself.

Infant Graphic-Shapes Set

The infant graphic shapes have so much to offer. I love the fact that that this product comes in the black, white and red and each are different shapes. They are also washable. I think it was a great idea to add the textured tags on the shapes to increase tactile learning.

I bought these for our 2-month old and only just now at 3 months is she starting to be able to grab them. They were nice to use to help with tracking (though my red phone case seemed to be preferred) and they are light enough for her to hold them on her own. The bright colors and patterns will catch her attention and we play games where I rotate the face visible to her to keep her engaged for longer. They haven't been through the wash yet, but the stitching looks to be good quality with even spacing, not too tight/loose, and no loose ends hanging out. I expect they will do fine.

Update at 5 months she still loves these! Now they are apparently "teether toys" as well, and they have survived just fine through several washings, though I do put them in a delicates bag to help protect them.

Infant Graphic-Shapes Set serves it's purpose for what I was looking for. I have a 2 month old infant and was looking for black/white/red toys, books etc. to stimulate her mind/senses. These not only are the colors I was seeking but also have a bell, rattle and crinkle paper inside (1 different in each) and taggies on the outside. They are soft and seem to be sewn well. A big plus also is that they were substantially cheaper than the competition.

Larger than I anticipated each one has a different "sound" the crinkle sound is my favorite the outer 2 have a bell in it one a small one and one a larger one but neither one is very loud it is inside all the stuffing so it dosen't really ring loudly but the colors are fun and eye catching

It very easily records a short voice snippet with the push of one button, and then the child can play it back by pushing one other button. And about 10-15 seconds after you close it up, it rings and draws the child's attention back to it! (It only rings once if you keep it closed though!) Very cute!

I have twin grandsons so I got 2 of these for them for christmas, the recording part is great, my son recorded on one and my daughter-in-law recorded on the other, it's great, now they can hear mom and dads voice whenever they want.

Thinkativity Imagine and Learn Musical Mixer

My 2 year old daughter absolutely loves this toy! She is a whiz at it. She plays with it for hours. She is so excited when she plays this. She got it last year for her birthday and is still playing with it 6 months later. It so cute. It helped her learn different foods and words. If she can't find the right thing to make one of the recipes, it gives her hints to find the right food groups...helping her learn her colors too! I can't say enough good things about this toy! If I could I would nominate it for a toy of the year award!

We were very excited about this toy a relative who is a chef gave it to my 2 1/2 year old daughter for Christmas 2009. The toy seemed to work, in that it responds when the child puts the different pieces in the mixer. However after hearing my child get lots of "try again" type responses, I tried it myself. It didn't work as intended. The toy doesn't recognize the pieces/foods well. A third of the time it doesn't "see" a piece at all, a third of the time it thinks it's a different food, and a third of the time it correctly "sees" the food. Because of this, it is impossible to play the game of making certain foods by mixing and matching the pieces.

It was also difficult to tell if you were pushing the pieces in properly sometimes it would respond just to lightly push them into the spot, other times you'd have to push hard until it clicked in. How the item was pushed in did not improve the toy's accuracy at "seeing" the foods.

I would have given this one star, but since I didn't follow up with the manufacturer, I will give it a little benefit of the doubt that we just had a defective toy.

Haba Bath Book Shark

The shark is adorable and we play with is daily during bath time. The book, not so much. My son chewed on it the first day he received it and the paint flecked off the edge he was chewing on. Given the fact that children of this age chew on everything, I was really surprised that it was so easily damaged. We have and love the Haba blocks, but I'd pass on any of the plastic toys.
