Paper Magic Group Lobster Costume, Red, 12 - 18 Months

My son was 9 months old at Halloween this year, but he was in teh 98th percentile, so we bought him this 12-18mo lobster costume. It was FANTASTIC. We received SO much praise for the creativity & cool-factor of his costume. Many people asked me if I made it myself. It doesn't look cheap or flimsy lime many costumes, but it is fleecy, so I suspct if you wore it many times, the fabric might pill. We only wore it a few times, so it was perfect. He just started crawling, so the 8 appendages were hilarious. It was comfortable for him, easy to get him in and out, and just downright adorable. Did I mention that we have fantastic photos that will last a lifetime?

I bought this for my nephew, it was so cute. The material was very thick, it gets too hot if they wear it too long, but if you put on a onesie underneath you can unzip it so they won't be too hot in the costume. The cost is expensive to wear it twice, for Halloween day and for pictures, but then again all costumes run about the same price. The antenna and the eyes was soft and just loppy and falls down weird, maybe the company had it on purpose. But overall, it was a good buy.

Chicco Magic Blocks Stacking Toy, First Activities

Bought 2 sets of these as well as the farm and house sets from Amazon.com absolutely adorable except for the little arms on the people possible injury if small child falls I removed the blocks with the arms and use the other blocks instead for their bodies!

These blocks really do seem magic! You can stack them either using the red magnetic dots or without the magnetic component using the yellow sections which which click into each other. I purchased this set on amazon for around ten dollars and it was well worth it. Now I want to buy the full set! The colors are very bright and my baby finds them irrestible.

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Coconut Tree Shape Sorter

I got this for my son who is a huge chicka fan. It's a very nice and very well made wooden shape sorter. It's a classic and will hold up for many years.

I really like the wooden box and shapes. But for a shape sorter, 4 shapes to insert is a really small number. Six out of the eight sides have no hole at all. I liked the tie-in with the book, but would not buy this again.

Playmobil 1.2.3 Farmer W/ Tractor

We have a few of the playmobil 123 sets. The tractor is one of our 2yr old sons favorite. He pushes it around the floor and talks to the farmer and the cow. His animals from other sets get to ride in the trailer also. These have been stepped on and thrown across the room and they aren't scratched and so far nothing has broken. He does have trouble hooking the trailer to the tractor. I love how all the pieces are interchangeable with other sets. He has lots of toys but the playmobil sets are the ones he pulls out first.

My 15-month-old son loves this toy, it is durable, yet detailed unlike many of the toys for his age. He loves to take the cow in and out of the tractor and "drive" it all around the house. All playmobil toys are great, but if you are going for durability, Playmobil 1.2.3 is the way to go!

My 5 year old autistic son loves the playmobil 123 line. The tractor and trailer come apart and go together easily. And he loves the cow. Good buy for the money. My 2 year old daughter also enjoys the toy. My 5 year old is more into the advance playmobil...not this line.

My 5 and 4 year old love Playmobil products, but I was also very hesitant to let my 2 year old play because of the small pieces. Even the figures have small pieces and accessories that are easily removed. I recently purchased this tractor, the mom and stroller, and the animal train and they've been a big hit with my 2 year old. She now has her own Playmobil and can play right alongside brother and sister. The pieces are large and have no small pieces to remove. They're perfect for small hands. I've even caught my older kids getting into the "baby" Playmobil bucket. While Playmobil products are pricier than some of the alternatives, I have no problem with the higher price tag as the quality is fantastic. These toys are definitely the kind of thing you can pass down to future generations.

Our 2 year old grand daughter absolutely loves this set. We purchased it to along with the farm set she already has. She adores her grandpa and plays that she is with grandpa even though she is 1000 miles from us.

Hoppop Atto Ride On

I spent hours researching what to buy for my one-year-old daughter's first riding/pushing toy. I came across this one rather accidentally in a store and couldn't find any reviews online, but I bought it anyway because it was a good price and I liked the simplicity. Now, I love it. And baby girl giggles when she spots it across the room and races toward it.

Pros:

+ It's simple no batteries required. No annoying songs or sounds.

+ It's attractive mostly white with lime, dark blue, or dark pink.

+ The front wheels turn so it doesn't always go in a straight line not always the case with riding toys.

+ No paper or stickers she can chew off or that will dissolve in the rain if it's left outside.

+ Seems sturdy rated to 44 lbs. but I put all my weight (135) on it and it didn't seem to creak or bend.

+ Narrow between the wheels baby can walk while straddling it or sit on the seat and ride.

+ My kid, for one, is in LOVE with it.

+ Inexpensive, as riding toys go.

Cons:

Very lightweight baby girl, who is not yet walking, can't get on unless someone is stabilizing it.

Wheel base is narrow again, someone has to hold her while she walks/rides it or she's likely to fall over sideways (also a result of its weight).

No long handle for parent to use to stabilize I bend over to hold it while she rides. My back is killing me, but baby girl loves every second.

Reviews on other websites said the handlebars were too far away from the seat for their kids, but it's just right for mine (she's 31" tall at 12 months).

If this one breaks or is stolen or otherwise compromised, I'll be buying another one the same day.

I bought this toy based mostly on the way it looks--It's a lot more stylish than your average ride-on. My two-and-a-half year old loves it and rides it around the house constantly. I got this toy for him when he was 18 months old and he's always liked it, but it's really only in the past few months that it has become a hands-down favorite. It's nice that it is lightweight, so he can carry it around the house himself. The only downside is that the seat is too far away from the handlebars (he just sits on the white bar in the middle). But all-in-all, I'm very satisfied with this toy and would recommend it to others.

Yomiko Yomiko Husky by Russ

I did not purchase this Husky for a toy. My mother is 96 years old and now a widow and very lonely at night. I remembered that she and dad had a Husky when they were first married, and something soft to the touch would be very healing to a woman.

She loves it! She set it on my dad's chair and I was told by her caregiver, in the beginning she just walked around the house carrying the Husky. She wouldn't be able to care for a real dog, so this furry little friend gave her the consolation without the burden.

With so many out there who are living much longer and on their own, I am surprised that there isn't more marketing geared towards them. This Husky isn't just a toy...it now has a name and has partially filled a void in a woman's heart.

I bought this plush for my girlfriend. Her favorite breed of dog is siberian husky so this was perfect. She loved it and i got major points for it. It was very realistic and really soft. Definitely worth the money.

Rubie's Cute As You Can Be Skeleton Girl Toddler Costume

My daughter wore it this past Halloween. The leggings and arm covers were way to big for a 14 month old but the dress was absolutely adorable and the mesh arms were perfect. We just put some leggings on her instead of using the ones in the costume. She got lots of attention. Even just the headband was enough to make everyone comment on how adorable she looked. Very pleased.

I purchased this costume for my two year old daughter. The dress is cute, but very tiny (she wears 18-24 mo.) The worst part about this, however, is that the leggings are PANTS! The picture seems to show tights, as you can see that the little girl is wearing shoes, and the leggings are fitted. Totally not the case. In fact, the pants are super baggy, huge, and the feet don't cover her actual feet. Do not buy this! I am currently online looking for skeleton tights to finish the costume correctly.

My 8 1/2 month old son just started playing with his new Sassy Pop N Push Car. It makes a great first car! I am glad I read the reviews because the picture does make it look bigger so this video will help you see the actual size. He is just rolling it back and forth, but if you roll it back it rolls forward on it's own.

I bought this for my granddaughter who's eight months. Even she can do this. It's actually a pull-back toy pull the car back, and let it go...and the little balls pop around. It's so cute...I like it too! Sturdy and small for little hands.

This reminds me of a toy made by a certain maker years ago (don't know if I can mention their name legally or not so I just won't) that was on a long stick and you walked behind it and it had bigger balls inside that popped...like a popcorn maker!

Overall, I'm happy with this purchase. It was a good price and serves its purpose.

I was only unhappy with the size of the car. I did not read the dimensions before purchasing so I did not realize how small the car was. It's about the size of a softball. I was thinking it was going to be about the size of a soccer ball. Because of the smaller size the balls inside are rather small and dont really catch my daughter's attention like I thought it would. But, it was my fault for not reading the dimensions.

I was, however, pleasantly surprised at the fact that it will propel itself after being pulled backward. I was not aware of that feature and was happy when I found that out.

Child's Costume, Bumblebee Tutu Costume

I got this costume for my bumblebee loving two year old granddaughter. It is absolutely adorable looking.

If you are looking at this costume though, here are some negatives:

*The back of the costume has one velcro closure at the top and the child's back is exposed for about six or so inches through a slit.

*The wings don't stay back; they flop forward

*The headband itself is fairly flimsy and does not grip the child's head well

*The feather stuff on the antennae, skirt and shoes sheds heavily.

*The little shoe fluffs don't stay on.

The costume is super cute. I got this one and the Lady Bug one by the same manufacturer for Halloween pictures. The sizes appear to run a little small for the costume. The tights seem to run true to size. We have not taken it out on any candy collecting runs, so I can't tell you how it will hold up at a party or for two or three hours of trick or treating.

I bought a size 4-6T / child's small for my two year old. It was way too small. She would have needed a child's large for the sleeves and chest to fit correctly. Adorable costume though!

We got this for my daughter's Halloween costume. It is made really shoddy for the money. Right out of the packaging, the material around the wings was fraying and coming off. The wings were also so bent in places and nothing I did could straighten them out. This outfit also runs very small. It says it fits a 2-3 year old, and my 16 month old BARELY fit into it...and she's tall but skinny for her age. This was really cute on, and fine for 1 night, but this was nothing special for the price ($29.99).

This costume was in no way a standard child size 4. It did not close in the back. It was cute well enough made for a halloween costume, and she looked adorable but sizing was way off.

Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Counting Animal Friends Book

This was a Christmas 2008 gift for my grandson. He had his little hand pinched twice while playing with it. I thought perhaps he was too small to play with it and put it away for a long time. He is 14 months old now and I gave it to him last Friday (2/12/2010). It pinched his hand again, he screamed and cried and he had an angry red mark on the side of his palm. Will never give to him again. I've reported it to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.

I bought this for my son's first birthday. He loves it! My 3 year old even plays with it. It arrived quickly and in excellent condition. Great toy.

When we saw this online, I didn't look very closely on how the function would be. We bought this for our 2 yr. old son and he will play w/the button but you have to push the button 2 or 3 times for 1 page and it becomes boring to him. He will pick it up every once in a while and play but I wouldn't have purchased it in the store after I was able to see it's function.

It was just ok for him!

The good things are that the sound is very clear and loud enough for a child. If your child will allow for you to read it to them, this will be a great item for you. Our 2 year old is too independant and will bring only the books he wants for us to read to him.

I reviewed the other FP Laugh & Learn book earlier, and I'll say the same about this one:

This is a great book for small babies to older children! The story is really cute and the songs engage the children...it incorporates the animals and numbers into the story and songs. The sun button is enticing to push and lights up when the book is talking or singing.

It has a switch on it to turn the volume to two different settings or to turn it off to save batteries (or so you can pack it to take with you while traveling). This has gone with us several places and still looks new! She's had this book for months and still loves it.

My niece who is 4 actually likes the book too especially because it's something she can "read" to the baby.

The only downside is that there is only a couple pages so the story is short.

Lil Bat Infant Costume

This is a cute costume, that got a lot of great feedback at the Halloween party we went to. After washing the costume it was pretty soft and our little one didn't seem to mind having it on. Take note that it only comes with the hooded cape, the slippers, and the gloves, onesie not included.

This comes with the cape with the head piece attached, the gloves, and the shoes. You'll have to find a onesie to put under it and, if it's cold, tights.

Cons:

The shoes kept falling off my baby's feet so I just kept them off. This wasn't enough for me to drop a star, however, because it was such a cute and convenient costume on my baby.

Pros:

The cape was very easy to put on my baby. It only took a few seconds.

It didn't itch my baby.

Every time my baby lifted her arms, the wings spread out -too cute!

It was a great fit for my 3-month-old baby but there was still room to grow. An older baby could wear the cape.

It was really adorable on my baby girl!

I think the current price ($11-something), is a good deal. I bought it for $20-something last year, but thought it was worth it then.

I bought this for my friend's baby for Halloween. It looked so cute on the baby. Of course even in southern California it can still be a little cold on a Halloween evening and this costume doesn't cover the arms or legs. So we got her some warm tights and leggings and a warm long sleeve undershirt. It was great, the costume fit over her clothes fine. It was true to size and I liked the quality of the materials. It was totally worth what I paid. I would buy more costumes in the future.

My baby was 3 months when he wore this for Halloween and it was a big hit! Everyone thought he was adorable! He seemed totally comfortable in the cape. He wore the costume for several different events and had no trouble keeping it on the whole time.

The only reason it lost a star is because I wish it came with the onesie to wear underneath. It's hard to find anything solid colored with no images for babies. It took a lot of searching but I finally found a long-sleeved purple one at H&M. I also used some black tights from Target, because it's chilly where I live.

The hands and feets stayed on surprisingly well.

Frog Wooden Book (Discontinued)

This is a very high quality wooden play book. It is designed to be simple. Your child can place the little frog's head into a hole on each scene on the wooden pages. The frog is secured by a string, so there's no burden of having to keep track of where the frog's head has gone off to. Great for very young children to develop basic skills.

My son is only 22 mo. old, so I like to sit with him and let him practice putting the frog's head where he would like and then we tell stories of the froggie hopping from page to page, scene to scene. My son is a bit young to keep his attention for long, but it's well worth the time he does spend using his imagination and coordination skills.

It is a wonderful quiet play book as well, so it's perfect for sitting through church services or waiting at the Dr.'s office. It is a perfect size to fit nicely in the diaper bag or even my purse.

This is one of the cutest toys I've seen in a long time , not only do they tap dance to music, if you connect them with other little taps, they interact and form a dance routine, It's awsome. Each little taps has 3 songs they tap to. They are 100% on the cuteness scale. I love them.

Rovio Angry Birds Red Bird Toddler Costume

Less than price at party city, we have prime so it got here in a day. Costume arrived in perfect condition, 3T/4T is the perfect fit for our 4 year old who is 40" tall & 36 lbs. The costume itself is nothing fancy, not flimsy but obviously not made for too much use either. If your kid likes angry birds they will probably love being one!

I really liked the toddler Angry Birds Red Bird costume because it had an authentic look and definitely was a quality product. The materials were nice and it fit my toddler pretty well. I guess my only gripe would be the aerodynamics of the suit. It impeded flight and frankly when throwing my son he wasn't able to go as far. Wearing this costume definitely brought the game to life from a visual perspective, but on average he would travel through the air about 10-12' less (about 28' down to about 16-18') than when he was thrown in our home made custom suit. This resulted in less of an impact to the blocks and pigs we purchased, and ultimately our son had to be thrown more to achieve desired 3 star results. I have to give this product 2 starts, because I can't even get a 3rd when my toddler is wearing this thing. Only 5 throws for some of these is a bit challenging. I hope the dive bomber outfit is more effective when my daughter returns home from ballet camp this summer!

My son really wanted to be an angry bird for halloween. The other style of costumes were too large for him so I settled on this one. Boy am I glad that I did. The costume itself was cute. The little "feathers" on the top stood up nicely and the foam body stayed pretty solid so you could tell what he was supposed to be. This costume is one solid piece with the hood and long sleeves being attached to the body of the costume. The only problem that we had is that it was a little hard to get on and off. The face/hood opening was a little small and the sleeves seemed a little small too. There is no way he could wear this next year so this was a one time deal. Still, he wore it to school and was one of the few birds out there. His costume was better than the bigger sized ones that are like oversized circles that just fall flat. I even heard a kid wearing that style of bird costume say "man his costume is better than mine". Everyone thought he looked adorable (and he did) and most importantly he was happy.

This is a nice costume, there is some additional padding so it is not the super thin material that costumes are sometimes made out of. The 3T/4T fits my 4 year old son perfectly, but I imagine if your child was heavier the sleeves might be a little tight.

Early Years Pinwheel Stroll Along Toy

my son really likes thi toy but...it doesnt fit my peg perego pliko p3! i kind of tie it to stroller but the velcro keeps sliding off! im constantly checking to make sure it didnt fall off the stroller!

I have theThe First Years Wave Stroller, Urban Life (which I absolutely love!), and I bought this toy to attach to the stroller bar. What a great buy!!!

This pinwheel is very colorful, and spins easily with a light push or swat from my 7 months old (we've had it since he was approx. 3 months old). The "leaves" crinkle, and the "blossom" has little colorful plastic beads in it, so that every push sends them spinning around, creating a rattling sound. There are also 2 stars around the "petal", that baby can move up and down.

When my baby was 5 mo old, he would just grab for the wheel and try to put it into his mouth. Now that he's a few months older, he purposefully swings at it, and has a blast when he sees it spin. This is a great toy that keeps my little one entertained during stroller outings. (I also have the Selecta Mia Mah sheep and Pia Iah Donkey, which my baby loves just as much).

Overall: Great buy, especially for the price a fantastic deal! I have gotten so many compliments on this toy. My husband just wishes it was a little bit more "boyish" (he feels something along the lines of a steering wheel would be more appropriate needless to say I love it the way it is!). But even he will make sure to take the pinwheel on outings, since baby loves it so much!

Btw: This also fits around the bars of a baby activity gym for baby to swat at.

This pinwheel is really colorful and cute. It spins easily when my 8 month old son plays with it and he likes the beads around the stem. We have a Chicco Cortina stroller and the pinwheel does not fit on it correctly, so my husband squeezed the pinwheel into the stroller tray joint to strap it on. The attachment is not ideal, but seems to be working okay.

My 4-month old daughter loves this pinwheel. It's soft, has no sharp edges, and keeps her entertained in her car seat for 20-30 minutes at a time. The bottom straps actually come in very handy at times -I've secured it to the handle of the car seat when it's in the carrier position, which is perfect when sitting in a restaurant booth, to let the pinwheel spin. She grasps the stem very easily and loves to gum the leaves of it. Nice small rattling sound from the center of the pinwheel as well.

LeapFrog Learning Band™ Walker

We got this for my daughter for her 1 year old birthday last week! She absolutely loves it!! She pushes it all over the house! I really like it because I feel like it is helping her learn to walk and teaching her ABC's and numbers. My only complaint is that the little drum that turns as they walk has a motor that is kind of loud. However, that does not seem to bother our little girl a bit! She loves it!

My 11 month old weighs 22lbs, so I really needed something that would be solid and strong as he tries to learn to walk. Some of the walkers we'd use at play group or at friends' houses were too light, and when he'd push on them, he'd go flying forward. So I really, really appreciate this toy. It remains stable as he stands up, and moves at just the right speed when he pushes it. The music on it is pleasant, it has an on/off switch with volume control, and it has different settings. It isn't really a toy for him to just sit there and play with it for a long period of time, because like some of the reviewers wrote, it has to be moving to really get it going and do a lot. I still give it 5 stars anyway, because I really appreciate it as a walker.

This walker is great. We bought this for my 10 month old son, who showed NO interest in walking at all. Within 3 weeks of using the walker, he was walking on his own. My only complaints are: 1. The handle could be adjustable to allow for growth. I have tall boys and they have to lean over to grab the handle. 2. Also, if you put any pressure on the drum, it moves off the spinning wheel and won't turn. Try to explain to a baby that he can't push on it... it doesn't exactly work. Other than that, it has fun activities and the boys love it, even now that they walk well.

After not enjoying the Gobble & Go Hippo by FP, we decided to see if Leap Frog had a walker... sure enough. And we really like it. Sure, the songs can be repetitive, but really, what child toy doesn't have this distinction? This walker is fantastic because it's sturdy enough for our growing young one to pull himself up on... and he can easily push it whichever way he wants, the toy is constructed so that he doesn't HAVE to use the red handle if he doesn't want to.

You'll want to carefully supervise your young one at first as the toy can go a little quick for learning walkers. After a few hours of play though they'll get the hang of it.

And yes, sometimes the toy will suddenly start playing the song for some reason without being pushed.

But overall, a great educational toy from LeapFrog once again.

I don't know why anyone would give this walker a bad review!

My son received this as a christmas gift when he was only four months old. I forgot I had it until he was 10 1/2 months old. I put it together for him and within days he was walking on his own! He still loves to push it around even though he can walk without it:)

The volume has two different levels, which is a huge difference between the two:) It is very sturdy even for those who are just beginning to walk. I would have bought this if I didn't receive it as a gift. I highly recommend this item for any child!
