It is nice with something as simple as a pacifier chain can keep my son occupied. He just loves to stare at the animals and move the pieces around with his fingers. It serves its purpose well and I have gotten several compliments on it. It is a bit expensive for a pacifier chain but I am definitely glad I bought it.

Little Tikes Baby Tap A Tune Piano

My son just got this passed on to him from a friend. He adores it and it has quickly become his favorite toy. I can tell because even if I put other toys around him to keep him entertained, this is the one he will go for even over bigger toys.

I wouldn't so much say it's an educational toy at this point. But I am proud that he quickly caught on to the fact that by him hitting the top portion (the xylophone) it would result in a noise. He used the two little sticks to hit the piano portion as well, but hey he'll learn. This toy, in the short time that we have had it, has already entertained him for a couple of hours a day. I sit him in front of it and he goes at it laughing and looking at me with a face of pride and accomplishment.

My son is 9-months-old but I can see this being a toy that will interest even a toddler. It's a cute, simple toy. Small enough that it does not take much room to store (important to me because I live in an apartment) and easy to wipe down and clean.

So far, I've loved it and am so glad I got one.

I bought the Baby-Tap a Tune Piano for my grandson when he was 4 months old. He immediately took to it. He is now 6 months and still going strong. When he visits me, which is quite often, his face lights up whenever I take it out for him to play with. Being a grandmother I have bought a great many different toys for him, but this one is his favorite. He loves pounding on the keys and gets very excited when he hears the sounds that he makes all by himself. The toy is literally unbreakable, and very safe. There are no loose parts or sharp edges. He is 6 months old now and sitting by himself and is enjoying the piano even more. The only thing that frustrates him is that he cannot pick it up and chew on it. His frustration does not last long once he starts playing his very own compositions on this great piano. I would recommend this to anyone who has a child 4 months and up. At first he used to lie on his belly and bang on the piano, now that he's sitting it is much easier for him to entertain himself and his grandmother by playing his very own compositions. The price is excellent and this toy will last for years. Highly recommended.

As musicians, my husband and I hope to foster a love of music in our children, so we're happy Little Tikes makes musical instruments. I lucked out and got this at a garage sale, but however you get it, this makes a great first instrument for the young 'uns. The four keys outline a major chord and are easy to bang on. My daughter likes to have me sing back the notes she's playing! However, she is nearing 2 1/2, and is more than ready for the full octave piano--there are SO many basic tunes you can play on that one! So her baby brother can play on this one! We love just about anything Little Tikes makes, for their durability, colors, educational value, or just plain fun! Serenity got this piano when she was around 5 months old. She's almost 21 months old now, and this is still one of her favorite toys to play with!

This is a really great toy. It plays nice notes that have a good sound to them even when played in any combination. The notes can be played with the lightest touch or by banging the notes as my 8 mo old sometimes does. She likes the noises and I do too very easy on the ears. It's one of her favorite toys!

This is a fantastic toy and a great price. My 5 month old twins love it. Great for teething, lights up, easy to press button, and plays 3 songs. Loud enough to hear, but not overly annoying. No off button, just plays when pressed.

My five-month-old son started noticing this toy around 5 weeks. The high-contrast handle and lights and music caught and held his attention like nothing else at that age. Once he started swiping at things with his hands, he was able to move the ball spinner and seemed to enjoy seeing his effect on the toy, as well as watching and hearing the balls spin around. As he's grown more coordinated, he is using this toy even more, and can now deliberately move the beads, teethe on the handle, spin the balls, and push the buttons to make music and lights come on. This inexpensive toy looks so simple, but it has so many uses for your little one. I like the bright colors, and the five different tunes it plays with coordinating light-up keys are of nice sound quality. This is our favorite post-bottle-morning-laptime toy, and I recently bought a second one to take with us when we are out visiting. I looked at several other brands of similar toys and believe this one offers the most, developmentally.

"We" have gone on a baby toy buying binge lately, and this Bright Starts toy is "our" latest purchase. Mrs. Spudman picked this up for about six dollars at WalMart, but the price here on Amazon fluctuates so just keep revisiting the page.

I think this is a nice, worthwhile toy with its five melodies, easy to push buttons, rattle with tiny, colorful balls, and two sliding rings on the handle. Of note is that the handle and rings are made of a softer plastic than the toy's body, with enough give to make teething or chewing safe.

There's now on or off button, and no volume control. For a toy in this price range with such pleasant sounding melodies, the lack of such controls is a non issue.

You may be shocked to learn that this Bright Stars toy was manufactured in China.

I bought this for my son at about 6 weeks, but who is now 3 months old and loves this toy. He loves the lights and the rattle sound makes him giggle. My only complaint is that the music is REALLY short, so you have to press it like every 10 seconds to keep him engaged. I got another musical toy that is better for longer distraction. If you're sitting and playing with your baby, this is a great one though, and it's easy to show him how to hit the piano keys to make the music play. Overall a great purchase for the price.

Only in the very loosest sense is this a "piano toy". The three keys are all connected, making one big key, and the two "sharp/flat keys" aren't keys at all--they're they "light-up" part and are fixed in place.

The worthwhile part of this toy is the spinner on top, which is fun for the very young, but it's also easy to find similar spinners on better toys. The handle is a nice touch, but the size of the toy makes it hard for infants to hold. And when they're able to hold it and move around (young toddlers love carrying toys with them, just because they can), the toy itself has long since ceased to be interesting.

The other good thing about this toy is that it isn't too loud. I wish there were more positive things about this toy. It's a cute idea and ven the very young would love the cause and effect learning of being able to press separate keys to make different tones (or, at least, activate a different song for each key).

Bottom line: Skip it. There are better spinners (Bright Starts Grab and Spin Rattle, for instance) and better smallish musical toys (Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes, for instance) for young and old babies alike.

Make no mistake, this is a colorful toy that was created with good intentions. It has some neat music and some parts light up.

However, major design flaws outweigh any positives. First, the toy is extremely top heavy. This makes it prone to being knocked over backward and providing it with good potential energy...should it be placed precariously on the edge of a piece of furniture (as toddlers have a propensity to do). Second, the lid barely even opens...unless the lid comes off the main body, which it is prone to do. This, of course, spills the contents and requires an adult to put it back on. Third, the coin-recognition mechanism makes errors, as it judges based on coin size. As with toddlers, sometimes the coin isn't put perfectly into the slot, and it thinks the coin is wider than it really is.

This toy REALLY needs to be re-designed. Make the bottom heavier, allow the box to actually open, and refine how the chest recognizes a coin.

What a shame that baby einstein, a brand that promises (overtly or otherwise) to make your child the smartest thing around, couldn't be bothered to put a little more thought into the design of this toy. I bought it for my son thinking it looked like fun. But once extricated from the packaging (no mean feat, that) it took him about 2 minutes to show me 3 problems. While attempting to put one of the coins in the slot, one of his fingers became painfully caught between the coin and the edge of the slot. He is an infant. His control and coordination are far from perfect. In addition, the chest is very top-heavy since all the features are built into the lid. It's just heavy enough to come down painfully on a little hand (although I doubt it's heavy enough to do any real harm, I'd rather not put it to the test.) Lastly, all of the counting/color/shape identification rely on a switch in the slot that makes a determination based on the size of the coin. If your child is like any child, he's going to put it part-way in, pull it out, and earn himself a false identification of the object, which is, needless to say, somewhat less than helpful for actually helping him learn anything, if that is one of your goals in purchasing a toy like this.

Ok, now that I think about it, it would also be nice if it had a volume control.

I totally agree with all the reviews on here. This toy is top heavy, and the lid doesn't open very far. However, my child, 18 months, LOVES this toy. We have had it since she was about 6 months, and at that time, she just liked to put the coins in her mouth. At about a year, she tried to put the coins in the slot, but was happy pressing the button on the outside to make the music play. At 18 months, she fully gets it, and it is easily one of her favorite toys.

We bought this for our son while we were out shopping one day. It has several different coins of varying colors with shapes on them. The chest recognizes which color/shape is being inserted, and will speak that color/shape back to the infant. Whether or not an infant finds this toy to be a fun activity is unknown to me. You see, this toy has a huge design flaw that makes playing with it virtually impossible.

All of the electronics are stored in the lid, making the toy very top heavy. Opening the chest to retrieve the coins inside is virtually impossible for an infant, and difficult for an adult. When my uncoordinated son attempts to open the lid, it simply topples over. Every time. You need to keep a sturdy hand on the base to keep the lid open, which is not going to happen with an infant. It bores him, and it frustrates me. I don't understand why, in 2013, toy engineers would think this design was okay to go to market.

I suppose it's okay if you just dump the coins out, but what infant is going to be able to dump this out, and then return it to a standing position? This things spends more time upside down on my floor anyway.

I'm no engineer, but the first thing that comes to mind is placing the electronics on the bottom. I'm sure that there is some technical or cost-reduction reason for this design decision, but it was made at the cost of the consumer in this regard. They could have even made the bottom heavier to even out the weight distribution, but they didn't.

It's a huge flaw, and I worry about my son hurting himself with this toy somehow. We've been very pleased with the line of Baby Einstein toys, so it's disappointing to see this poorly designed thing on store shelves. I don't normally feel ripped off, but I genuinely wish I could get my money back on this poorly designed thing.

Little Tikes Push & Ride Racer

My daughter has definetely enjoyed pushing this car around and piling things on the seat and in the "doll" seat. I think it helped her learn to walk on her own, which is what prompted our purchase. She also likes climbing on, off, and over it. She is just starting to figure how to "ride" it herself (she knows how to and enjoys having me push her around on it.) The only thing this is missing is an inseat storage compartment. Kids love collecting and hiding things, and it seems there is plenty of space for a compartment--it doesn't need to be big. Although then the seat might not be as "ergonomic," that is if you could say it currently is. I think it would be a good idea anyway.

Assembly was easy enough for my husband, although it did take about 30 min--there are quite a few pieces that go into putting on each wheel. It'd be nice if the wheels were preinstalled but then the box would have to be a bit bigger, which isn't as economical, so consider your time spent an environmental service :)

My son is almost one and I really want him to walk (not that I'm a pushy parent but I'm pregnant again and he's hard to carry around.) The minute my husband put this together my son went crazy! His eyes got big, his tounge came out, and he made giggly noises as he pushed it everywhere through the house. When he runs into something that causes him to stop he hollars out for help. Not only is it a cute sight to see, but I feel like he is learning balance and coordination too. Not to mention that he is now becoming aware of the three dementional world in which he lives. I bought this for my son, who has been crawling for 2 1/2 months and seems close to walking.

Pros: He loves it! This is a small, simple version of a push-toy/walker. It's great for apartment dwellers or folks who have limited space at home. It's small enough to fit well in my son's playspace, but large enough to support his weight. It's study, too he's a rough 'n tumble kid, and the car has held up very well. My sister and best friend also bought Push & Rides, and all are still in perfect shape after four years of enthusiastic play.

Cons: It's a pain to put together. The directions are all in pictures (whatever happened to using words in instructions??). I've assembled entire pieces of furniture with less frustration.

I'm including my addendum to the instructions for those who want a little more guidance:

Parts List:

K (small, black) and O (large, gray) are tools. You'll need them to tighten the nuts, but will throw them out after assembly.

M: red screws; G: white anchors; H: yellow endcaps

The rest of the parts list is clearly defined.

Instructions:

1-Pull the three metal bars out from the bottom portion of the car. You'll have two skinny bars (E) and one thicker bar (I).

2-Take one of the skinny bars (E), and hammer one end into a small nut (J). It's easiest to do this if the nut is on top of a sturdy block. Do the same thing with the other skinny bar. You'll end up with two bars (E), each with one nut on one end. You'll have two nuts (J) left over. Set the bars aside to use in instruction #4.

3-Put the white plastic hubcap into the indentation of the black wheel (do this with all four wheels).

4-Take the skinny bar (E). Next to the nut (J), add the wheel so that the white portion is touching the nut, then add a washer to the other side of the wheel. Put the bar through the holes as shown, so that it acts as an axle.

5-Once you have the bar (E) poking through the other side, add a washer and then a wheel. Now, you just need to add the last nut (J) to make sure the wheel stays on securely. Take the two small black capnut tools (K). Fit one capnut tool (K) over the nut that's already on the end of the skinny bar. Turn the car on its side, with the capnut tool (K) on the floor.

6-Put the other nut (J) on top of the exposed end of the skinny bar. Place the other small black capnut tool (K) on top. Bang on it a few times with the hammer until both nuts (J) are securely locked onto the bar.

7/8-Push the white plastic anchors (G) into place as shown.

9-Hammer the yellow endcaps (H) into the handlebars.

10-Hammer the thicker metal bar (I) into one of the the larger nuts (N).

11-Put the bar (I) into the blue car base and add red handlebars as shown.

12-Use the larger gray capnut tools (O) to hammer both nuts (N) onto the bar (I) securely.

13-Pop a beer: you're finished!

DON'T BUY THIS! It's horribly flimsy. It broke when we very carefully put it together. I then called Little Tikes to complain and was put on hold for twenty minutes until I gave up. Tried again later and this time after 10 minutes of hold music enter in my phone number for a call back. I then received a call back but was put on hold again for 10+ minutes!!! I finally spoke to an agent named Alison who was rude and threatened to hang up on me when I tried to explain my problem.

Just an awful company with ZERO customer service. Will never do business with them again.

Look-a-Rounds

Believe it or not, if you are out shopping for balls this size they are VERY hard to find . . . so I was THRILLED to come across these. They are much more fun and interesting than anything I could have thought upI personally was just looking for a pack of plain solid colored balls because my son (9 months old at the time) was obsessed with the ones at his friend's house that come with the "Stand Up Ball Blast" (also by Fisher Price). I was looking only for the balls because he wasn't interested in the "Stand Up Ball Blast." After I took these balls out of the package at home, my son spent the rest of the night crawling around chasing them. He was ENTRALLED by them. He is now 14 months old and still plays with them every day. For more than a dollar a piece, they are a little pricey, but WELL worth it!!! (I only gave 4 stars for durability because they have become pretty stratched up from rolling on our wood floors. I imagine this wouldn't be a problem if you have carpet.) Buy these todayyou (and your child) won't regret it!!!

I bought the first set of these when my daughter was 6 months old. At that stage she wasnt into rolling the balls as much as clutching them, shaking them like mad and putting them into her mouth. Now that they are a favorite they are all over my house. She loves to carry them with her, they are the perfect size for a toddlers chubby hands, she enjoys looking at the objects inside and manipulating them. Now she loves to push them and chase them across the floor so I think these are educational and very multifunctional.

These balls have been a consistent favorite of my son's. He loves to bat and chase them (crawling after them), shake them and study them. He has thrown them, rolled them and banged them. Although they haven't broken and seem really durable, they do get cloudy from all the abuse.

BABY GROWLERS (blue) - tiger

I bought this tiger for my son when he was born. I had no idea how much he would attach to it. He spent 2 years taking it EVERYWHERE. He gummed it, drooled on it, and even teethed on it. He got food on it, dirt on it... it was disgusting. I have no idea how it held up so well. Many many trips through the washing machine---always came out clean. After 2 years of more abuse than any material known to man, he finally succeeded in splitting the nose seam. I bought a new one for him. I put the two next to each other. Wow.... who would have known it was the same toy? The old one lost almost all the stuffing and the color. I say this not to denigrate this fine toy, but to praise it. Who knew it would last so well given the absolute abuse he put it under? Great toy!

I purchased this tiger for my son before he was born because his big sister had the pink one and just loved it. It is super soft and small enough to cradle in little arms. The tail is also great for teething babies. It's very durable and cute. We're definitely fans of this little tiger.

I ordered this in October as I started collecting Christmas gifts for my granddaughter. It didn't work changed batteries 3x works for a minute and then stops. Whoozit Baby WhooHoo Activity Toy

This toy is my daughters favorite. She loves it, and it has become our go to item with her. She is 9 months and got it when she was 4 months. The star arms have a rattle in them and the green and polka dot legs are plush so she can put them in her mouth and chew on them. There is a Velcro loop on top so you can attach it to a carrier, etc and the nose is a squeak toy with a mirror underneath. I haven't put it through the wash, so far I have only needed to spot clean it but it has held up pretty well from everyday wear and tear. All in all, I am very pleased.

My 6 month old likes this toy, but did not occupy him for 30 mins at a time like other reviews said. The mirror under the nose is especially fun for my son, and all the little arms it has are entertaining as well. I recommend it!

This toy is one of our daughter's favorite toys. We bought this because she loved the original Whoozit and thought it would be nice to change it up every now and then to keep her from getting bored. I think the original Whoozit is better suited as a first toy as the black and white side is perfect for visual stimulation. Baby's First Laptop Computer Playset

I got this for my (11 months old at the time) daughter for Christmas. It is great for a small baby. Mine wasn't very durable, though. She really didn't play with it that much and the star easily came off. The star also came off of the little earth pouch. The rocket makes a cool rocket sound but it stopped working soon after it was opened. Other than these few complaints it is a cute toy and I think good for a first play laptop for babies. I also paid much less than the current almost $20 listed price. I wouldn't pay $20 for it, and after the problems really the $12 I paid for it wasn't really worth it. But, maybe it was just a flaw with mine. Still a neat toy.

Not that great of product. Flimsy and not very entertaining. Makes cool sounds, but one broke after only a few weeks of use. Doesn't come close at all to adult laptop for child to even think it was like her parent's. Not worth the price. Should be about $10 cheaper.

We bought this at a toy store nearby b/c my baby was mesmerized by the lights on the screen. She's fascinated with the real laptops we have at home and we thought this might be an entertaining toy. She was about 7-8 months at that time and even though the minimum recommended age for this toy starts at 6 months, she really wasn't all that interactive with the laptop at the beginning. She did like to close the top down a lot and as other reviewers have mentioned, she also snapped her fingers in the process a couple of times but she didn't cry too much about the ouchies and it didn't deter her from continuing to play with the laptop.

Now at 10 months, she can be much more engaged and the laptop can usually keep her interest for a good 8 minutes -just enough time for us to scarf down our meal at the table while we all sit down together. This video shows her at the dining table in her highchair. She likes to bash the keys and watch the lights come on while listening to the music. There are 3 modes to the laptop but we usually leave it at the music mode -unless she decides to explore the switch on the side -the other 2 modes are probably more appropriate for older toddlers who are learning shapes, feelings and common objects/sounds. Will they really learn what the laptop is supposedly teaching? I'm not sure but I do love that the volume options aren't too loud, the keys/mouse are easy to manipulate and this is one durable laptop that has survived many, many, MANY falls to the floor from the highchair!!

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my then 9 month old daughter. She loved it instantly. Only problem is that my daughter does like to close the top because it seems so fun to her to do. But, she closes it with her other hand holding the bottom down for balance and easily smashes her little fingers. Very painful! My daughter doesn't cry about much, but she definitely cried real tears when her little fingers got smashed! I saw another review about this same problem before purchasing, but didn't think much of it. It's happened more than once and 3 months later my daughter still plays with it, but definitely doesn't have the same interest as she originally did. Overall I think it's an adorable concept and it is entertaining...but would be even better if they would fix it so that babies can't close it themselves.

My 7 month old loves this toy. Can play for hours. The only thing they dont mention is that they can close their little fingers and hands in it. We tested it and it does hurt quite a bit when you push down on it. Which my daughter did within 5 mins of first playing with it, but has not done so since.

This is the first I've purchased from North American Bear Company, and dare say it shall not be the last. These plush friends are very well constructed, and wash beautifully when done according to instructions.

As stated in the product description they are not a large, overstuffed plush. The near flat body gives them a unique characteristic, which makes them perfectly 'huggable' for little arms. Our little boy simply loves playing with them!

North American Bear Company got every detail right with the Flatso line, so I hope to see them expand it with other animal characters in future.

Sassy Pop N Push Car

My 8 1/2 month old son just started playing with his new Sassy Pop N Push Car. It makes a great first car! I am glad I read the reviews because the picture does make it look bigger so this video will help you see the actual size. He is just rolling it back and forth, but if you roll it back it rolls forward on it's own.

I bought this for my granddaughter who's eight months. Even she can do this. It's actually a pull-back toy pull the car back, and let it go...and the little balls pop around. It's so cute...I like it too! Sturdy and small for little hands.

This reminds me of a toy made by a certain maker years ago (don't know if I can mention their name legally or not so I just won't) that was on a long stick and you walked behind it and it had bigger balls inside that popped...like a popcorn maker!

Overall, I'm happy with this purchase. It was a good price and serves its purpose.

I was only unhappy with the size of the car. I did not read the dimensions before purchasing so I did not realize how small the car was. It's about the size of a softball. I was thinking it was going to be about the size of a soccer ball. Because of the smaller size the balls inside are rather small and dont really catch my daughter's attention like I thought it would. But, it was my fault for not reading the dimensions.

I was, however, pleasantly surprised at the fact that it will propel itself after being pulled backward. I was not aware of that feature and was happy when I found that out.

Fisher-Price Growing Baby Animal Activity Puzzle

My daughter is now 9 months, and loves to try to put things together. She was really interested in one of my puzzles, so I wanted to get her a very simple puzzle to start her off. This was a great find! The pieces are easy to remove, and take little effort for her to put back (the rare times she is finished playing with the pieces). She also loves that she can pick up the whole board and dump it out for maximum mess making. Each piece has a different attribute (rattle, squeaker, goggly eye, fabric, giggle, and rotating mane), which individually interest her. They also all have been taste tested, and approved (especially the lion). An all around great find!

The only minor complaint is the animal pictures inside the base are stickers not printed on. I haven't had an issue, but some may not like that.

My son is 9.5 months old. My son loved a wood puzzle with a large round handle (or eating it, anyway) at a friend's house, so I wanted to buy him a puzzle of his own. I didn't know what make that particular puzzle was (I now know it was Imaginarium and have since purchased one).

Anyway, at the time I bought this Growing Baby Animal Fisher Price puzzle, I had researched wood puzzles and realized most of the wooden puzzles I could find were made by a CT manufacturer who had been found to have trace amounts of arsenic in their paint used on some of the wooden toys. I'm not sure how old the messages about the arsenic paint that I found online were or how accurate (it is a rather prominent company with toys in every store I go into-so they most likely are safe), but it worried me anyway. So, finding this plastic, Fisher Price puzzle pleased me a bunch! The price was great and it was clearly for little hands. Plus, knowing it came from Fisher Price made me feel good about the puzzle. And, it looked like fun. I bought it right away!

Our experience with this product so far: My son is only minimally interested in this puzzle right now. He takes it, dumps the pieces, maybe chews on a couple, stares at the Googly eye on the fish, and often takes a piece or two and bangs it on some furniture. Then he crawls away. However, he is still young for a puzzle. My son exhibits this same kind of attention span with almost every toy he owns-so I don't blame the puzzle. I really like that it is educational and safe. I am sure there'll be more serious puzzle play (so to speak) once he is closer to 1.

As for the wood puzzle I ended up buying which has 3 pieces: All my son does is take a piece and walk around with the round handle in his mouth like a pacifier. This confirms my theory that he's just too young for a puzzle of any sort. I must admit I feel much better about him putting the Fisher Price puzzle parts in his mouth than the wooden pieces, and since he bangs them on wood floors and furniture, the plastic pieces do no damage whereas the wood ones leave little marks when banged.

So, overall, I'd surely recommend this Fisher Price product as a first puzzle over other alternatives.

For the price, you can't go wrong! Get it.

This puzzle is great for ages 6 months and up... at first they will just use it as a toy. the animals are bright and fun to look at and chew. and there are a couple noises to hold interest, too. then they will learn to start putting them back into the puzzle probably around 12 months, give or take a couple months. we have a number of "first puzzles" but most are wood. I like that this is plastic so there is no worries about the baby trying to mouth the pieces. the only thing I would change is to make at least one of the animals out of softer (ie more rubbery or chewable) material. all of them are hard plastic. that doesn't stop the baby from chewing... but the rubbery type material is a litte more fun to chew.

This puzzle is cute and interesting for little ones because of the activities on the pieces. The lion's spinning mane is especially nice. I do wish the pictures under the pieces weren't stickers, but they seem to be holding up so far. I'm glad I got this.

We wanted to find her a puzzle that is "chew friendly" as she chews on everything and didn't want to go with a wood or cardboard one as participial could eventually breakdown and she could swallow some of it... so needless to say this was perfect for her and all pieces have a different feature, such as rattle, squeak, move, etc.

It's just one of those little things you gotta have for the 1st birthday party as decoration. Once it was over tho, it was thrown away. I guess I could have kept it but I have pictures of this event in my child's life. I guess the only negative is that it is a bit too long for the highchair tray other than that, it was decent quality. Glad I was able to find it and have it for the party!

It was brand new as described, and it was perfect for my son's first birthday! It served it's purpose and was reasonably priced. The only thing I would say is you will need tape or something to attach the banner to the tray.

2011 Music Box Teaching Clock Fisher Price Magic Hallmark Ornament

The picture shows a full sized clock toy, but the description lists it as a Hallmark Ornament. I was sent the full sized clock twice and never did get the ornamant or a refund from the Seller for the shipping costs, as promised, to return the mistaken items. Be careful. This listing is not correct and Buy 4 Less is a shady company. Amazon was good about giving me a credit though.

I love Hallmark 'magic' ornaments and so do my kids. When I found out there was an ornament for on old toy of mine I was thrilled.

I purchased mine on ebay for about $24. Beware of people trying to get too much. I think it originally sold for $17 but I'm not 100% sure.

This is a perfect replica including moving hands, a moving blue face as the music plays, and the song plays through if you wind it enough. It even has the distinct "tick tock' in parts of the background music.

In comparison to other Hallmark magic ornaments, which can also be quirky at times, it is on par. I am really looking forward to putting it on my tree this year and having it bring back happy childhood memories of "My Grandfather's Clock".

North American Bear Company Satin Ears Bear Musical, Ivory

Yes, this bear is cute and appears to be well made, but I expected something a bit larger... it's only 9-1/4" tall. Also, in order to wind the music box in the velcro-closed pocket, you need to clutch it through the fabric so it doesn't spin around. I think this could have been designed better. I just got it, so I don't know how long the music box will last -hopefully for years!

This is a very cute teddy bear. The outer material is soft and velvety and the ears are smooth satin. The bear's face is sweet and calm. The wind-up music box sits in an opening in the bear's back that closes with velcro. It looks adorable sitting on a baby's dresser or shelf, and the music box can be easily removed so the bear can be used for cuddling or play.

Sassy 4 Piece Water Ways Activity Tubes

Our son has had this toy for about five years. He played with it at first at our urging, but soon lost interest due to the toy's poor construction. He's now eight years old, so until his little brother came along two years ago, this toy just sat in the bathroom tub-toy drawer. Our younger son has little interest in it mainly because it is far too difficult to connect the tubes together. Once they are connected (always by one of us) they don't stay together long enough to be of any real use. The tubes are either too small and don't hold enough water to begin with or the water wheels/spinners inside them are too large to really allow the water to flow through the way it should in concept. The idea is a good one, but the actual toy is very poorly made. Where are all the good tub toys? We've been searching for quite a long time and have only found one toy that holds our younger son's interest: Munchkin Caterpillar Spillers Stacking Cups. He plays with these in or out of the tub or swimming pool. We're on the hunt for anything else that will keep him distracted long enough to get him clean!

These activity tubes are my 17-month-old's favorite bath toys. He digs through his bath toy bag looking for the "pipes" as he calls them, spends the whole bath playing with him, and carries them out of the tub with him at the end of the bath. The only problem is that they fall apart fairly easily and can't be put back together by a toddler, causing some amount of frustration at first. But he has since learned to say "Help! Please!" when he wants me to put the pipes together. A lot of fun for both baby and mommy!

Update from April 2012: I have had a lot of trouble keeping these pipes clean inside. There was no way to open the tops of the pipes and give the inside a good rinse. I've run them through the dishwasher, but there is still icky residue. I imagine that all bath toys must be similarly yucky on the inside over time, but with these, you can actually see the gunk that gets stuck in there because the plastic is clear! I had to throw these out. But I still got several good years of use out of these.

I found that the parts to this water toy are so small that very little water is able to pass through each piece to cause movement. If you had a small pitcher to keep water flowing, you would be able to see the elements of each piece move better. Recommended for older children who can focus on small parts. Younger children just can see the actions of the rolling balls, etc. as well.

Plan Toy Concertina

I love Plan toys, and this concertina exhibits the great construction I've come to expect from Plan. What I DON'T like is the sound! It plays two notes, one on the inhale and one on the exhale. Couldn't we have some finger holes to make different notes? It is easy enough for a toddler to play, but the sound it makes is so objectionable that most parents would hide it from their kids.

I wish I loved the Plan Toys concertina as much as I love their drum or the adorable pull alligator toy. But oy. It just does not produce a single pleasant sound, which is especially ironic considering the product description claims quite the opposite ("Plays Pleasant Sounding Notes") hmmm...hardly. I'm not even sure we can claim it makes more than a single sound, which is one identical to a police car's siren.

Giving it two stars if only because we still play with it every once in a while, and it remains part of our young toddler's music instrument collection (along with the above-mentioned drum, a glockenspiel, a guiro, etc.), but probably just for novelty's sake. It would be lovely if this were reworked so that it actually produced anything that could be remotely called "music."

My two year old loves this concertina! It is very simple to play. She holds the straps to push and pull. However, my older daughter puts her fingers under the straps and it plays wonderfully! For a toy instrument it is heavier than any cheap plastic toy instrument but durabilty often comes with a little extra weight. My child is so excited to hear the noise she is making. To her this is a great instrument! I would encourage others to buy it.

As a concertina player, I thought my grandson might enjoy playing this toy along with me.

He doesn't.

The bellows is so heavy duty and stiff, it almost takes an adult to operate it. And when it is "played", it does not make a musical sound it makes a grunting, wheezing sound.

This is a good idea but very poorly executed.

Avoid it.

We own an Mahalo U-30BU Painted Economy Soprano Ukulele (Blue), Plan Toy Solid Wood Drum and Remo Kids Lollipop Drum, 10 Inch, Trophy 4 Bell Wristlet, Plan Toy Melody Xylophone, Basic Beat Pair of 8" Combination Rhythm Sticks and Meinl Plastic Egg Shaker (4 pc Assortment) so far.

Unlike the above this toy is not a 'real' instrument and it can be annoying after a long time, but the play value is HUGE. My son loves this, as well as any friends that come over.

Well made, durable (even with my throwers) and exactly what the toy is meant to be.

What I mean by that, is I don't know what else you could expect from a 1-2 note TOY. I'd rather listen to this all day then some electronic 'music' toy. I wanted something different than the instruments I already had, but playable by my two year old. This is prefect.

I would defiantly recommend this to anyone that asks with a side bar note of, Do you know what your buying?

I mean really its like buying kids a drum set then complaining they play the drums all day.
