Dora the Explorer Toddler Bed

After reading the many reviews on toddler beds, my husband and I went to Rip off R'US to purchase this product (because we had a gift card, otherwise I wouldn't shop there. Their prices are high and their free shipping isn't free, but I digress).

Most of the reviews of this product are spot on. The product is:

1. Hard to assemble. I was tempted to call my friends husband --who is a mechanic-to help us put it together.

2. It is poor quality. A Coleman cot has a better, more durable frame.

3. The plastic headboard and foot board are cheaply made.

4. We had a hard time getting the crib bed into the frame.

5. It is overpriced for the quality. $39.99 would have been a fairer price.

However, my daughter was so excited to have a Dora bed. She ran over to it, said "I love it," hugged her Daddy and said I love you. She's also been showing to everyone who is coming over for SuperBowl, showing it to them and saying "Tada."

If you are going to buy this bed --because your child is ready for a bed, it is Dora and they will love it -then just beware it is hard to put together and not very well made.

If we had more money, I would've bought a Little Tikes or KidKraft bed. They are much better quality and Made in the USA.

I love this Dora bed, we didn't get the one with the canopy (I knew that would be trouble with my crazy 1 1/2yo child). We picked the bed up at toys r us (or babies r us...) and it wasn't hard hard at all to put together. The most difficult part to put on was one of the bed guards on the side to prevent child from falling out, as it took my strong husband and me pushing it and straining to get the stupid thing to attach in the right stop. Once it was there, it was very sturdy though.

I love that the bed is close enough to the ground that when she does roll out (she is all over the place when she sleeps and she'll scoot out of the bottom) she falls and doesn't even wake up because it's not far enough to hurt. I just pick her back up and lay her back down and she stays asleep the entire time. This doesn't happen more then what's expected of a young child sleeping on an open bed. It wouldn't be enough to make me change my mind on this.

One thing I don't really care for is the open slots on the headboard. It's there for looks, I think, but her binky falls back there and she loses them under the bed, so I have to fish them out and search there often if she wakes up and can't find it and gets upset at her loss of it. The other down part was the first month it was difficult to get her to actually stop staring at the Dora sticker on the headboard and saying "Dora" over and over while pointing at it and making squeaking sounds while she rubbed her finger down it long enough to actually fall asleep. I did regret buying her favorite cartoon a few nights because of this issue, but she's moved past it and sleeps in it without distraction now.

I've actually laid in this bed for short amounts of time, and have sat on the bed while getting her to sleep plenty without any issues (I'm currently pregnant and 150lbs) and my husband has also sat at the end without any issues except the baby mattress coming up at one end for a second (he's around 180ish lbs) so I don't doubt the sturdiness of this bed.

The box said easier assemblyI would hate to see the first edition. The holes were off center and hard to line up. After several attempts I finally got the bed together, only to have the side rails fall off after 2 weeks. Piece of junk and waste of money. I gave it 2 stars because my daughter likes it and will sleep in it and the stickers are cute. Now I have to go and buy side rails so it doesn't become a death trap. Will never buy a Delta product again. So angry I want to Twitter about it or write the CEO about lack of quality control!

This was easy for me a 45 yr old female to put together by myself. But, the last two screws took me close to an hour because the holes were just just a tad off. My daughter really wanted this bed so, I perservered. She loves the bed and is so proud of it. But, it is mostly plastic. I suppose it's sturdy enough. She's happy with it so, I guess it's not so bad.

My son loves this bunny lovie! It's very soft and the blanket part is velvet and satin. He likes the texture. I wish it was washer safe tho, as I'm not a fan of handwashing. He likes to chew on the bunny head because it's soft and cushy. He's 6 months old now, but has liked holding on to it since he was about a month old.

Angry Birds Plush 5-Inch Black Bird with Sound

This is one of the smaller birds (about the size of a baseball) but it has quality plush and appliques it looks suitably angry! To get the sound, you press the forehead (between the eyes and the crest) and it plays 3 different sounds from the game. The sounds come at random rather than a sequence, which is nice. One of the sounds is unique to that particular bombing bird.

They have a larger base so they sit still without rolling over despite being ball shaped. The noise maker is suitably padded and you can throw this around quite a bit without worrying it will break the sound box. This bird has been airborn quite often and hasn't stopped working a bit.

We have all of the sizes of the birds and this size is nice and compact a bit firmer than the larger ones.

In all, it's expensive for the size but it is a quality piece.

to my MAJOR disgust and to their MAJOR disappointment there was a tag underneath the angry bird tag on it that said "Warning: contains lead. May be Harmful if eaten or chewed. May generate dust containing lead."

are you kidding me? first of all this is not mentioned in the listing what so ever, but on top of that it contains lead and is rated for ages 1+?

needless to say this was a great disapointment, and they were promptly returned.

The black bird which is my favorite bird as being the bomber bird, is a great plush toy for kids. It makes three different sounds. It is very light for its size which is nice so you can throw it around the house. Great birthday present for kids who love the Angry Birds and also great if you just want too collect them. The bomber bird is identical to the bird on the app.

The weak point of the bird is that the soundbox breaks easily and would be extremely difficult to fix.

Tupperware Shape O Ball Toy

My son is 7 months old, and he loves this toy. He plays with the individual shapes while he waits for dinner in his high chair. He also enjoys shaking the ball and hearing the shapes rattle around inside. Since it's designed to grow with a child, it won't be long before he'll be able to put the shapes in the ball.

After disappointed from buying the Fisher Price shape sorter (all my 16 mo old did was pull off the lid and play with it, which defeats it's purpose) I did some research trying to find a better product. My husband suggested this because he had it as a child. I didn't remember having this, but I ordered it and I'm glad I did. Not only does it come with a lot of different shapes, it's also hard for the baby to take apart. Other shape sorters that have lids or tops that come off won't do any good. This one requires an older person to pull the two sides apart, therefore, opening the product and allowing the pieces to come out. I thought it was pricey when I bought it, but after seeing it in person I realize it'll last a very long time if not forever and it can be passed on to my other future children.

I chose this shape sorter because of the retro factor... it's just like the ones I remember from when I was young. Others I've seen don't have as many shapes as this one (my son now knows 'trapezoid'!) and it is self-contained, durable and very portable. It's also multi-purpose... besides being used as a shape sorter toy, my son: rolls it around as a ball, shakes it up so the shapes rattle around inside, and we trace the shape pieces with a crayon to learn how to draw shapes. One of his favorite toys!

The Tupperware shape sorter is the best baby sorting toy out there. We live abroad now, but I picked up 4 of them to bring back to Europe.

The reasons, why our kids loved it so much: 1.) Form and function are above all other similar sorting toys. It is just a very well made toy 2.) It is plastic and easy to lift and clean (A lot of parents would prefer wood. But often, the wood sorters are simply too heavy and bulky to be handled by little toddler hands) 3.) It is formed like a facetted ball. That makes it easy for baby to turn it around themselves. 4.)The cut out holes and the shapes are very precise. Only *1* shape fits into *1* correct hole. Many other shape sorters even more expensive ones allow for wiggling wrong forms into wrong holes 5.) It is a mental challenge because some of the shapes are really hard to discern like trapeze, pentagon, hexagon 6.) For parents: It is no "loose pieces nuisance" like so many other toys because: when baby is finished playing, all pieces are automatically back inside. So there are hardly any pieces ever lost 7.) Keeps baby busy for about 10 minutes

I think my daughter got this toy for her first birthday. At first I only let her play with it while I could help her, because she'd get frustrated or bored. I would put the shapes halfway into the slot and help her push them in. Then I would put the shape into the correct position in her hand and show her the slot to put it in. Eventually, I would let her pick the shapes she wanted to put in, and position the ball for her to put the shapes in the slots. She's 23 months old, and can put all the shapes in herself, quickly and easily, and she can name about half of them as well. She's also figured out how to open the ball for herself and empty the shapes, so she can play independently.

She's now teaching her little (6-month-old) brother how to play with the toy (he just likes to chew and drool on the shapes right now). This is a durable toy, and totally worth the extra cost.

There are just some toys every child should grow up with (oldies but goodies), and this is one of them!

I got this pool for my daughter who was 15 months at that time. We have used it for 2 months now and this is the best purchase so far for summer!!!! My daughter never wants to come out of it and even sits in it inside the house without any water :) the cushioned base is thick so she is not on any hard surface while enjoying the pool. THe fhowers provide the perfect shade and we use almost 2-3 times a week.

This pool is super cute. Our 1 year old loves it. It seems sturdy and nicely made. Our only problem is that the air in the top flowers doesn't seem to hold very well... they get soft after few hours. Not a big deal but a tiny negative.

Over all I'd have to say I'm satisfied with this pool. My daughter certainly seems to love it; however, the petals are difficult to keep inflated the valve keeps popping open, letting the air leak out. Between the two inflated and 1 semi inflated petals, though, they still seem to do a decent job providing shade. I'd recommend keeping the pool in the shade regardless though.

I absolutely love this pool, and so does my six month old daughter! There are three blow-up butterflies that Velcro to the pool, and she loves pulling them off and playing with them. Also, the bottom of the pool has a cushion part you blow up, so they aren't just sitting on the hard ground. This product is EXACTLY what I wanted, and would recommend this to anybody wanting an affordable, CUTE pool for their little one! =)

I researched many walkers before purchasing this one. Its made from wood and metal and is incredible quality. Its so sturdy. My son is 28 pounds at 10 months old and for him learning to walk this is perfect. No matter how hard he pulls on it or falls while using it, it does not tip over. My son can crouch behind it and pull up to standing and it does not tip over. I think its because the handle is shaped in a way that directs any force downward to prevent any tipping. The wheels have a rubber tread on them that lets it go smoothly on carpet and slows it down on our hardwood and tile. My little boy pulled up on the handle and walked behind it (for the first time ever) the day we got it! He loves his little wagon and pushes it all over the house. We put his teddy and some blocks in there or a favorite book and he screeches with delight that hes pushing those things around. BTW the walker is great empty too...you dont have to weight it down at all like some of the plastic ones.

This is such great quality, and a beautiful product and Im so glad we got it. Its going to last for this baby and future babies and beyond.

I did a lot of reading reviews of all the wooden baby walkers and decided to go with this one just a few days before our kid's 1st birthday. It's not the $140-200 version of a wooden walker, but it's also not plastic or toxic-paint-fumed wood. I am thrilled with this purchase! The price is perfect for a well-crafted wooden cart, and with Prime shipping it arrived on her birthday as promised. Our daughter isn't walking yet on her own, but she immediately pulled up on this and took off, happy with her independence and smiling proudly. A few minutes later her friend had climbed in it, and our daughter pushed her around, both of them laughing hysterically. Obviously a toy like this should not be used unsupervised, because it could tip over and cause injury, but this really is a stable walker, low to the ground, good rubber grip on the wheels with a really well-made handle. Every day since we got it our kid spends lots of time pushing it around, then crawling in it and holding on while we push her around. Yes you will spend a good amount of time pushing your kid around in it, and the handle is kid-size, so bend your knees and try to keep your back straight. We took it outside, and she instantly started putting rocks and grass in it and pushing that around to unload it somewhere else. She also got in it one day and started propelling herself forward by rolling the wheels. It's amazing all the concepts she is putting together with this one item.

I had debated about this version vs the Original Activity Walker Supports Those First Steps, and after we realized that one is actually smaller than the blue/red one we went with this one. I'm glad we did. This one is still very small (and we have a tiny house), but if it was any smaller our daughter wouldn't be able to crawl in and out of it, which at this point is very important to her. I see her enjoying this for a long time, even after she walks solo, pushing her toys around and scaring the cats and dogs.

My family owns a toy shop and this is the ONLY baby walker we sold as you cannot find better, sturdier, safer and well designed. The handle is shaped so that babies that cannot walk yet can pull themselves up safely without the walker tipping over (even with nothing in the wagon). The wheels have a center of rubber so that they do not slide even on wooden floors, also (as my mother was most concerned about) was the wooden front being rammed into furniture the design is so well done, the wheels come out about 1" from the front so that all that hits on the furniture is the rubber of the wheels and does not leave marks (even on wood). Prices vary, but i would pay ANYTHING for this, but nicely enough, it is one of the cheapest on the market especially for wood. Good luck trying to get your hands on these though as they seem to be sold out all over the place i had to put in 7 different orders to get 1, but it is worth it!

We've been using this wagon for two years nowand it is wonderful! Heavy, so that it does not tip over when my son leans on the handlebars, but still maneuverable for a 1-3 year-old. We have been really hard on this wagonit's been used inside, outside, left out in the rain accidentally, used for rock and leaf collecting... we will need new tires for it soon, but that is more out of wear and tear. G Baby Roly Poly Set

Both my one year old and two year old like this toy. It's kept the youngest attention a bit longer than most of her toys which is nice. The oldest finds it interesting but moves onto something else a bit quicker. The bobble shapes are lighter than I expected. The bobbles do not do a lot of the roly poly action and get knocked off either because of its light weight or lack in magnetic strength. It's a good magnetic toy but I wouldn't purchase it for the roly poly effect. The shape is interesting but had I known this I probably would have purchased a bigger set at the same price or a less expensive set with the same number of pieces.

I have the original 2000 version of this Baby Cookie Monster. You can interact with him on three different parts of his body his hand, his outie belly button, or his mouth. Baby Cookie's arms flail when you touch him sometimes, and his hand has a bottle in it. He has a surprising variety of phrases all different depending on which part of the body you press. The most phrases I've seen in any talking Cookie Monster. He'll ask for Mamma, Dadda, Juice Please, Me Want More Please, Cookie Cookie Me Want Cookie Now Please (at least he's a polite monster), Yum, Burps, Crys, Coos, makes slurping noises when you give him his bottle, says Baby Cookie Happy, or the most heart tugging of them all Baby Cookie Sad (and then you just have to play with him more until he says he's happy again).

I've had him for 13 years now and though he doesn't get played with much his battery has lasted and he still talks as loud and moves as well as he did when he was brand new.

Because of the mechanical movement and speech, Cookie's body and head is a hard plastic under his fur. His eyes and legs are soft though. So he's not snuggleable.

A great toy for a child that enjoys baby dolls or actively playing/interacting with their stuffed animals, but not the best choice for one that wants a monster to hug at bedtime.

This walker is an wonderful and sturdy product and we are really happy we bought it. We had originally bought a safety 1st walker which was pretty flimsy and the music was way to loud with no way to adjust the the volume level. This one not only has two settings for volume it also plays a variety of other sounds and songs and it even has a little locking storage tray for you to plug in your mp3 player if you don't like the music the walker is playing. While the mp3 player is on, the lights on the walker will continue to shine when your baby hits the buttons which is and added plus to keep your baby from being bored (our baby get's bored easily)

I would absolutely recommend this walker to anybody who is looking for a nice walker. It is spendy, but if you compare the quality of this one to others, you know why it's so expensive. And I figured, that if I buy nice brands now, I will hopefully get a good use out of them and have a better chance of selling them later on when my child has grown out of it.

My pediatric developmentalist would have a fit (walkers always a no-no!), but my 7 month-old son likes this walker. He seems happy to have a little independent movement and he likes the toys and sounds on the front of the walker. I don't keep him in there long, I feel like 15-20 minutes is the maximum. Sometimes he doesn't even stay in it that long because this is a baby that likes to be held. A lot. :) But it is a good alternative to the Jumperoo and Exersaucer (also no-nos according to the specialist, but she has no children).

I received a set of these as a shower gift and my daughter loved them! Lost one while out one day and had to order another set right away. They do fit a bit loosely if your baby is small, but work on ankles too.

These wrist rattles are cute. But my daughter is not really into them. She prefers the flower over the butterfly though. The flower rattles and the butterfly has crinkly wings. But the butterfly's wings are so small that they don't really make a sound. Sidenote these were really cute decorations on the diaper cake from my shower! Just wish my daughter liked them more.

These are too cute, they are adjustable even for the tiniest of babies, and a good distraction :)

Disguise Bumblebee Kids Transformers Movie Boys Deluxe Costume

I bought this costume for my 5-year-old son. It's expensive for the quality, which is just okay. My son has worn the costume a few times and the shoulder seams have already split. The straps on the chest plate are much too long, so the "shield" doesn't stay in place. Overall, my son loves the costume, and that's most important. It's just a little work for me (sewing repairs and adjustments).

The people here leaving bad reviews, it kind of bugs me. When you pay around 20 dollar for a costume, obviously its not going to be top of the line, super nice, ect. That's just common sense!

That being said, I for one am very happy with this. With shipping it came to 26 dollars and change. It comes with the mask, chest piece and arm/gun piece. Those are all made of plastic..The costume it self is a thin stretchy material needs to be worn over clothes of course, or for me, I put my kids in pjs under their costumes every year. No it is not high quality material, but for this price, for a a costume that my 4 year old will wear for one halloween and then to play in, it's perfect.

I ordered the size 4-6 for my 4 year old...it fits him perfectly over the jeans and t shirt he is wearing right now, and will do fine over pjs for halloween. The mask fits his face just right and he says its comfortable. The chest piece and arm piece also fit just right not too big or too tight. The straps to the chest piece are secured with a piece of velcroe for each its not bad, but I will probably add more velcro to ensure it stays, he's pretty active.

Overall, for around 20 dollars, you can't go wrong with this. If you expect or want a high end costume, then go pay more money

Poorly made. The velcro to hold it on was maybe 3/4" in diameter. It kept falling to the side and the neckline in front kept jabbing him in the neck every time he bent over to pick something up! He was not happy! Very disappointed!

This toy looked like so much fun and perfect for the busy toddler. When I received this toy, it arrived broken. One of the springs is stuck in the down position and won't pop up. Very unfortunate as this was intended to be a Santa gift. Great idea behind the toy and if it were made with better springs it would be a very successful product. I will be returning the one I purchased. I am not reordering based on several other reviews stating that theirs too arrived broken or broke within the first few weeks of play.

This toy is great for toddlers to encourage eye-hand coordination, fine motor dexterity and cause and effect. Kids of all ages and adults like to play with it too.

Little Leaps - Say It Baby! 9+ months

We have this disc and its great! The girls love the strollercam view of the park and all the animals. I love it because it introduces please and the concept of sharing.

This is the first and only game my 20 month old is currently playing on his Little Leaps. At fist it seemed as though he didn't take much interest in it, but after a few times, he began asking to play and loves the characters and mix of live people/animals, animation and puppets. He'll play for 20-30 minutes before growing bored with it, but it seems almost each time he makes it a little further through the game. We've yet to make it through the whole thing, so im not sure of the full length.

We love this game. Our daughter loves seeing all the animals. The music keeps her dancing and interacting. It asks her to push a button often enough that she doesn't lose interest.

My son loves this game. It is at Grandma's house and they play it together. He loves the counting. This is a great game for the little ones when it's a wet, snowy day.

Chicco Surprise Circus

This toy is good in theory but fails in practice. It's way to difficult for my baby to pop the train cars together, stack, or make the animals pop up. My 4yr old can do all these things with it but she is too old to care much. It's fine if you are actively playing with your baby/toddler, but it's no good for them to play with alone.

I bought this for my 1 year old daughter thinking she would like pulling a little train around and popping the different characters up and down in the little cars, and learning how to stack them up. It held her attention for a few minutes and then she was finished with it. It also feels cheaply made. Wish I had spent my money on something better.

Lil Bat Infant Costume

This is a cute costume, that got a lot of great feedback at the Halloween party we went to. After washing the costume it was pretty soft and our little one didn't seem to mind having it on. Take note that it only comes with the hooded cape, the slippers, and the gloves, onesie not included.

This comes with the cape with the head piece attached, the gloves, and the shoes. You'll have to find a onesie to put under it and, if it's cold, tights.

Cons:

The shoes kept falling off my baby's feet so I just kept them off. This wasn't enough for me to drop a star, however, because it was such a cute and convenient costume on my baby.

Pros:

The cape was very easy to put on my baby. It only took a few seconds.

It didn't itch my baby.

Every time my baby lifted her arms, the wings spread out -too cute!

It was a great fit for my 3-month-old baby but there was still room to grow. An older baby could wear the cape.

It was really adorable on my baby girl!

I think the current price ($11-something), is a good deal. I bought it for $20-something last year, but thought it was worth it then.

I bought this for my friend's baby for Halloween. It looked so cute on the baby. Of course even in southern California it can still be a little cold on a Halloween evening and this costume doesn't cover the arms or legs. So we got her some warm tights and leggings and a warm long sleeve undershirt. It was great, the costume fit over her clothes fine. It was true to size and I liked the quality of the materials. It was totally worth what I paid. I would buy more costumes in the future.

My baby was 3 months when he wore this for Halloween and it was a big hit! Everyone thought he was adorable! He seemed totally comfortable in the cape. He wore the costume for several different events and had no trouble keeping it on the whole time.

The only reason it lost a star is because I wish it came with the onesie to wear underneath. It's hard to find anything solid colored with no images for babies. It took a lot of searching but I finally found a long-sleeved purple one at H&M. I also used some black tights from Target, because it's chilly where I live.

The hands and feets stayed on surprisingly well.
