My First Pumpkin Play Set

My daughter got this from her grandparents for Halloween and loves it! She puts the toys in the pumpkin and takes them back out. She plays with each toy and chews on them all. They make different noises and that keeps it interesting to her. She even took the toys trick or treating and wouldn't put down the rattle spider! She loves this!!

Delivery was prompt. Purchased it for my god daughter, this her 1st Halloween and she loved it! Immediately started to play with it and it kept her entertained for long period of time. It was a hit!

This is a cute gift but the cat's meow is VERY loud! I would recommend this item. The candy corn is crinkly, the spider raddles, and the ghost squeaks. My infant loves it. I'm just worried about the decibles on the kitty. It can be heard from another floor in the house.

My First Pumpkin was my granddaughter's first real toy at age 3 months! She loved the sounds and feel of the adorable Halloween pieces inside the pumpkin! Radio Flyer Comfort Embrace Wagon

We wanted to get a radio flyer for my now 3 year old for a while, and when our newest son was born, we found this! It is so awesome. Assembly was a bit more difficult than it needed to be, reallybut once it was done, it was great. Both my boys weren't happy in the double stroller we had, so we started just using this anytime we went out instead. We usually don't spend too much time out and my older son didn't sleep in the stroller anymore anyway, and this allows for the baby to sleep and the canopies are a HUGE plus for us, as the double stroller we had been using didn't allow for adjustment, so the sun still would hit the boys in the face at times. This is great for our walks and the zoo. It seems pretty durablethe cup holders are pretty cheaply made, but that's not affecting the safety.

pros: easy to assemble, looks good, etc.

cons: very bumpy ride, front wheels wobble quite a bit, smaller than i though when i saw the picture

The wagon is okay, however the extra price seems exorbitant for the additional baby seat. Plus you lose the cushions on the ultimate comfort wagon. Think carefully before you make this purchase. Before I bought it I thought it came with cushions for both seats AND a baby seat. If my husband hadn't already put it together I would return it and get the ultimate comfort wagon instead. For the extra price they are asking for they should also throw in two toddler cushions for the hard plastic seats. I do like the added features of the breaks, but I feel all the wagons should have this safety feature.

So much more comfortable and safe than traditional discs, this sled is great for babies. Because it has a soft inflatable back, it's perfect for infants and toddlers. We took it to the snow and my 4-month old daughter did great in it, as did my 16-month old niece. Even my 4-year-old niece liked it better than the other sleds. I would definitely recommend it to anyone with small children. In fact, I already lent it to a co-worker who said his 1-year-old and 4-year-old fought over it. I haven't even gotten it back yet...I bet he's trying to keep it!

INTEX 58461EP SNAPSET POOL 6' x 15"

The kids get a lot of fun out of the pool; they use it almost every day. For the price, it's a great thing for the kids to have in the summer time.

The one thing I found is that the vinyl bottom of the pool can be punctured very easily. Despite taking extra precautions, like using a tarp underneath it, I had 2 holes after the first use. The included patch kit made it easy to fix.

The cleanup process is a bit of a pain, so I found that it's easier to just leave it full until it gets really dirty. I purchased pool treatment (chlorine crystals) to 'shock' the pool when first filled, and then to keep it clean after each use. I purchased a cheap $2 plastic 9x12 sheet to use as a pool cover to keep it covered and clean.

My son just loves this pool. It's a great size and durable. I have had inflatable pools before and had problems with those, decided to purchase this snapset pool and really like it. It's easy to set up and store, just folds right up.

I purchased a pool similar to this last summer. Unfortunately, it met the fate of our neighborhood lawn service's weed wacker. Nevertheless, we had so much fun with it, I knew I needed to purchase a new one. We live in a town home community, so I wanted a pool that was compact and not too big. This pool certainly meets that criteria. It's inexpensive, too. You need to have the pool filled almost to the top to really stabilize the sides. Also, if your lawn is naturally at a slant, you can expect the pool water to fill a bit unevenly. The diameter of this pool is great for 2-3 adults or about 4 young children. It's great summer time fun!

This is a great kids pool! It is easy to fill, and is extreemly easy to empty and store. Used it all summer, did not tear or leak. I think this is simly a great product!

The weight of the water inside the pool actually holds up the sides. The sides do not stand up unless the pool is full. I would definitely try it before I threw it away. I have two small children and we have had one every year for the past four summers. lots of fun.

Slinky Dog Retro

I bought this toy for my son. He loves it a lot! He enjoys playing with it along with his Mr. Potato Head(s). One thing I do not like is that the string is attached between Slinky's eyes instead of the chest, like the one in the movie. My son doesn't mind, so overall I like it because it makes my son happy.

I got this for my 10 year old niece. She isn't so much into playing with toys anymore,but I knew she liked Toy Story.

She loved the fact that there is a real toy with a real metal slinky.

The toy cant really 'walk' with the string on carpet but does pretty well on tile floor.

Its not an everyday toy because the Slinky can kink.

Once the toy is done it makes a great show piece my niece doesnt put it away in the closet she keeps it displayed on her bookshelf and takes it down from time to time.

I got this for my 9 year old who is a dog lover. After reading the other reviews, I was hesitant because they all talked about how it is cute, but not really mean to be played with. But after receiving it, it is more durable then it seems IF it is played with correctly. The string is way too short, but I think they do that for safety reasons. My 9 year old plays with it daily. She takes it for walks and very much enjoys it. I did give her the warnings about it being fragile and easy to break, So when not playing with it, it goes back in the box. Good toy for older kids, or more serious minded kids.

Gund Lilly Ladybug Huggy Buddy 20" Blanket

Our one year old loves these. We have both the ladybird and bee on rotation as he rams the arms in his mouth while walking around the house or getting himself to sleep. There is no reason to call this thing a blanket. It's more of stuffed animal with no stuffing. Yeah it's 20" but that includes the legs and head. The washcloth sized body is no where near a blanket.

TY Beanie Boos - CASANOVA the Valentine Monkey ( Beanie Baby Size )

My mother-in-law bought the giraffe and the dog for my boy-girl twins as a little Christmas gift for our family Christmas party and they soon became a favorite stuffed animal for them both. We brought them along as a comfort toy for them when we traveled to AZ and unfortunately we lost Safari the giraffe in the airport. On our way back I saw that they were selling Beanie Boos at one of the shops in the AZ airport so I bought Casanova the Monkey to replace the giraffe and my daughter instantly loved him and has taken him everywhere since. Sassy 602 - Teething Wing Butterfly

My son started teething early (3 months) and he was not yet able to control his movements enough to chew on teething objects. He was however able to grab things and this butterfly was so easy for him to pick up. The one wing is like a handle and it easy for him to move and light enough for him to get to his mouth. As the days go by he is finally able to chew on it for a few seconds before he loses the control. He is still unable or uninterested in doing this with any other teething toy. Plus he somehow finds the butterfly entertaining. A+ for a young teether.

Baby couldn't hold this until she was bigger and her grip improved. Once she could hold it, she loved it. She gnaws on both sides regardless. She likes the colors and shape also. The color does come off though, which isn't so good.

I bought two of these because the twins were just starting to get first teeth. We put them in the refrigerator, and then gave them to the babies (two identical girls, by the way, and the cutest ever). They LOVED them! They chewed away for hours. Gund Dog Spunky Plush Toy

I bought two of the of the slightly larger light brown spunky a year ago and my son won't go to sleep without them. He liked them so much that I bought two of the blue ones for my newest arrival. This is the type of stuffed animal that your child will get attached to so you need at least two of them.

From a safety perspective, they are great. The eyes are thread and there are no small pieces to come off for your kid to choke on. The stitching is very durable. They go in the regular washing machine. Mine have been washed at least 2 dozen times each and still look great.

The only small con is that they need a second ride in the dryer.

This is easily the most snuggleable plushie that I've ever come across. My little one just loves it; she always sleeps with him at night, and takes him wherever we go. Definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone :)

My daughter is 20 months old and she really loves this soft puppy. He has been her favorite since she was an infant, and she still won't go to sleep without him. He's soft and cuddly, and comes out of the washing machine looking clean as new.

We have already gone through four of these puppies (only because we tend to lose them, plus we keep one at daycare for naptime and one at home). One of the best things about this dog is that he is easy to replace if you're prone to losing toys like we are! i love this! unlike a lot of gyms it doesnt have obnoxious music, jangly noises, flashing lights, or any of the other things that often annoy me in baby-entertaining items.

there are nice surprises in the mat-crinkly sounding leaves, a soft kind of velour-ish leaf, a flower that squeaks if you press on it, a mirror in the trunk of the tree (very nice for tummy time!)

the hanging toys seem pretty high quality, and are very cute! the owl makes a chiming noise and the apple is velvety to touch and has a mirror in it. my son also seems to like the pillow that comes with it, especially for tummy time.

the only thing i wish was different was the thickness-i would like a little more cushion in it.

I picked this activity gym over the hundreds available on the market mainly because Amazon states under its material type as cotton. I really try to avoid purchasing baby products that are polyester. When I received it, it's 100% polyester, which is why I took two stars off. But I kept it because out of all the activity gyms out there, I think this is the one that is the least of an eyesore in my living room. My daughter absolutely loves laying on this and staring at the animals. She actually did her "tummy time" the longest she's ever done with this. It gives me 20 to 30 minutes a day to get things done and she even fell asleep on it once. Overall, I think when it comes to picking activity gyms, it's more the parent's preference than the baby's. Babies aren't too picky about how things are designed and can be amused by the simplest things. Parents like to "overstimulate" their babies with the toys that light up and play music and it's really not necessary to keep a baby happy.

This one, if I have to put it away for any reason, I would have to take it apart. It is easy to do so, but kind of a pain in the butt.

I was dead set against a baby gym because I think most of them are ugly and I did not want one in my living room. People kept telling me this was a mistake, because babies love these things, and they are great for developing hand/eye coordination. I finally found this one and decided that it is the only one on the market that I think is cute! I put it on my baby registry and received it.

When my son was about 3-4 weeks old he started having longer periods of time where he would be alert. I started out putting him on his play mat for about 10-20 minutes at a time, and now at 3.5 months he can seriously play for over an hour! He loves to grab at the dangling animals and I love that you can hook other toys onto the loops for variety. The little pillow is good for tummy time, but at 3.5 months it's not needed anymore. We have this set up in our living room 24/7 and I don't hate looking at it. In fact, I love that we have it because it keeps him so entertained.

It's a pricey mat, but well worth the money. I was lucky to receive it as a gift. Love the owl motif. Sometimes other people are right!

Like everyone else, I bought this activity gym because it's the cutest one on the market. However, the mat is too thin to use directly on hardwood floors. My baby liked grabbing at the toys for short periods of time, but it didn't keep her entertained for more than 5-10 minutes. Once my baby outgrew the activity gym, I detached the toys to use in her playpen or as stroller toys. Today, she was sitting in her bumbo on the hardwood floor playing with the bird toy with the wooden ring. She was tapping it on the ground, not even with much force, and the wooden ring broke. Luckily, I saw this happen and could remove the broken pieces before she tried to put them in her mouth. I imagine this could potentially be dangerous and wanted to warn other parents. If you purchase this activity gym, I would strongly recommend removing and discarding the wooden ring or at the very least not detaching that toy from the overhead bar. I have read reviews about this happening with their stroller toys that have similar-looking wooden rings, so I would be careful with any of their products with these rings. I have posted a photo of the broken toy for your reference.

Maison Chic Blanket, Alligator

Love the alligator line from Maison Chic and this blanket is adorable. i have bought the alligator plush rattles before but saw this and had to have it for my neice's baby. The blanket is so soft and is large enough to cover up in the stroller but not so large as to be cumbersome

I only paid $3.50 for this toy. I assumed it would be small. It arrived and was a lot bigger than I thought it would be for the price. What a steal!

Little Leaps - Say It Baby! 9+ months

We have this disc and its great! The girls love the strollercam view of the park and all the animals. I love it because it introduces please and the concept of sharing.

This is the first and only game my 20 month old is currently playing on his Little Leaps. At fist it seemed as though he didn't take much interest in it, but after a few times, he began asking to play and loves the characters and mix of live people/animals, animation and puppets. He'll play for 20-30 minutes before growing bored with it, but it seems almost each time he makes it a little further through the game. We've yet to make it through the whole thing, so im not sure of the full length.

LEGO DUPLO 6760 Let's Go Vroom

My 3 year old received this Lego Duplo "Let's Go! Vroom!" set for her birthday (Lego Duplo 6760). She had already been playing with Lego Duplo pieces for some time, so it was not difficult for her to figure out how to build the vehicles. Initially she loved that there was a story book with this set, unlike her other Duplo sets.

The 10-page board book features a simple story involving an airplane and a car. It doesn't have detailed instructions for building since there are only a few pieces, but it does show pictures of how the airplane and car should be assembled. The pieces in the book are to-scale (actual size), so it may be easier for little kids to understand how the pieces fit together.

This is one of three available sets in the Bricks & Books collection as of this review (November, 2012). The other two sets are "Busy Farm" (LEGO DUPLO 6759 Busy Farm) with 15 pieces and "Grow Caterpillar Grow!" (LEGO DUPLO 6758 Grow Caterpillar Grow) with 17 pieces. "Let's Go! Vroom!" has only 12 pieces, but it has a car which is a pretty cool piece.

The quality is great, as you would expect from Lego. A retail price of $12.99 is a bit high for 12 pieces, but part of that price is for the book. If you prefer bricks, then there are other sets (without the book) that are a better value. If you are interested in the book, this is a very cute set.

Now that my preschooler has played with it a few times, I think the novelty has worn off. As expected, the pieces to this set have now been comingled with her other Duplo pieces and the book sits on her bookshelf. Still, it's a cute set that should entertain your child for some time. It was a very nice gift to receive, and I would consider buying it as a gift for another 2-3 year old.

This was very fun for my 3 year old the first couple times we did it, but after that, he was tired of the story, and enjoyed just playing with the blocks by themselves.

Bath Squirters - Dinos In Bag

These are very cute little bath toys, and my 2 year old daughter has LOVED them, but four months of regular use has led to the insides being completely covered in mildew/mold stuff. The squirter aspect has been somewhat disappointing, I find them hard to get water into and out of and although it has gotten a little easier with time my daughter still can't work them herself (and I think it's this inability to easily squeeze all the water out that has led to the mildewing).

I purchased these along with a few other dinosaur toys for a little boy having his 2nd birthday. He loves dinosaurs and taking baths so they were perfect for him. Really adorable.

Spielstabil Nesting Stacker

My 8-month old LOVES this toy! The buckets stack both inside each other and on top of one another. Some of them have holes so the water/sand trickle through. I didn't think too much of it until I saw how my child uses this toy in the bathtub he is exploring the idea of volume and relative size. As a bath toy it can't be beat doesn't retain water and stink like rubber duckies. They come in handy when rinsing him off too. Who would have thought a simple collection of buckets would be so much fun!

At 16 months, my boy still plays with these every time he takes a bath. I have added other toys to his bath repertoire, but he prefers the stacking buckets. He now knows how to stack them and continues to do so repeatedly. It's also funny to see him trying to grab the water that trickles down from the buckets with holes...he still hasn't figured out that water is not solid....

I am an extremely picky mom when it comes to the toys I buy for my son! I love the Plan toys and other educational toys that don't have a lot if bells and whistles. I looked for a long time for a high quality stacking cup toy and finally stumbled upon this German set. Other plastic stackers are likely to contain BPA, but these do not (I went to their website and checked!). They are thick and durable, and work well both for nesting and stacking play (when turned upside down). I am shocked more people haven't found these cups, and it's a shame they show up so low down on the page when you search for stacking toys!

And a nice added bonus to these stacking cups is that you can still build a sturdy tower if you have a cup or two MIA about the house (say, when one cup is still hanging out near the bathtub from last night's water play, etc.) These cups are so ingeniously designed that the fifth cup fits nicely inside the rim of the third cup-which is also great when your little one isn't yet interested in building every tower by size order. It's so rare these days to find a baby toy that is the result of careful thought and planning. The cups are very good quality, bright colors, and stack different ways because their proportions are so well planned. They nest, they stack in two separate ways, and some even have drainage holes to be used at the pool/in the tub! The holes are nice, too, when my son inserts a cup inside another upside down since they fit so well together, this prevents suction from sticking them that way permanently! He loves these cups at 10 months old and I foresee many years of imaginative play to come.
