Imaginarium Foam Building Blocks - 100 Pieces

When my daughter was 1 we purchased wooden blocks for her. On more than one occasion the blocks managed to get under feet and injure someone in the household. That being said, we gave away the wooden blocks and purchased these. We've had them for four years and they are still in great shape. They have had hours of play. They stack well, retain their shape and color and don't hurt when you step on one. This was one of our best purchases for our daughter, who still plays with them.

The product is not as described. It is described as 100 Imaginarium Blocks but the blocks are made by Verdes. They are smaller and less colorful than Imaginarium Blocks. Also, they cost $44.99 and you can get 100 real Imaginarium Blocks at Toys R Us for $22.99.

This review is based on my Toys-R-Us branded set of the Imaginarium 100-piece blocks.

These blocks are durable and colorful. However, they are not uniform. The blocks are uneven sizes, perhaps 1/4" different between pieces. Big deal you say? The problem is that my 3-year-old is enthusiastic about building towers and castles but she can't get a structure of more than a few pieces tall before it falls.

I gave it a shot and did only marginally better than she did. Since the blocks are not identically-sized, any building made with them leans after stacking two or three on top of each other.

In my opinion, it is a detriment to have the child play with these because she thinks it is her own fault the tower falls down.

My recommendation is to buy a higher quality set or wooden blocks.

I purchased this attracted to the word "Mozart" he's my favorite composer. This picture is a little misleading I was intrigued with these circles. This picture actually shows 3 magic flutes. What I liked about it is that the circular format is very interesting plays almost like a harmonica but I was surprised with the accuracy of the notes.

I thought this was a simple yet brilliant toy! It is easy for the smallest child to hold and teaches multi-sensory skills all at one time.

I ordered this in October as I started collecting Christmas gifts for my granddaughter. It didn't work changed batteries 3x works for a minute and then stops. Even though I just gave it to her, because I ordered it in October (took a while to get here too) store won't do anything even to confirm it was defective. Fisher-Price Backyardigans Sing and Play Musical Mirror

This little set is really cute, and my 2 1/2-year-old daughter likes it, but it's not something she plays with often. She puts on the headband, combs her hair, and looks in the mirror, but then she moves on to something else. When she does use it, she loves looking like Uniqua and hearing Tasha and Uniqua talk to her, and it was definitely a must-have since she is a huge Backyardigans fan. I like that the comb and headband snap right into the mirror, because otherwise they would be lost under the couch in about two seconds!

Polyester Pirate Loot Backpacks 12

I bought these as "loot bags" for my sons birthday/pirate party. They are large enough to fit lots of fun pirate treasure. They are not the best material for heavy items..but will cary lighter loads well. They stood up to 5 to 12yr old boys running around with them on for hours.

Munchkin Baby Sea Turtles Bath Toy, 3 Pack

At first we loved these, because our baby loved these. Then we noticed that within a month, the paint has started coming off because she was putting these things in her mouth. This toy is not appropriate for babies.

We like the turtles, didn't realize they have magnets in their nose and tail, so the stick to my tub. They really don't collect water, except the turtle with the spinner can hold a little water till you turn it over. Though they are quite hard, but we like them. Toys that mom can just throw in the bath toy bag are a bit hit in this house.

I really much surprise for such bad rating of this toy!

My daughter used it from 17 to 26 month in a pool and bath every day. And only one week ago it started to leak.

It held air really good, a even didnt blow it for that period of time.

My little one really loved it to swim on it and to play with it. She even kissed it)))

So we are ordering one more! Whole season for less than $15 is it bad? It can leak of course, but well aren't you supervise your kids when swimming?

Title says it all, it never held air. Probably just a lemon but knowledge is power, we bought it to take my infant son and when we got there it really deflated our mood.

Cuski the Original Baby Comforter

Our daughter has had a Cuski since she was born and it has become her most cherished security/comfort item. Although she has many other stuffed animals and toys, this is the one toy that she needs when she goes to sleep or goes somewhere unfamiliar. She has been in daycare since she was very young and this little doll comforts her there as well. The great thing about this toy is that it has no absorbent stuffing, so it is easy to keep clean. She chews and sucks on the ends so we are constantly washing it, but its relatively small size makes it very easy to wash and dry. I am very glad that she took to this toy as her comfort toy rather than a cumbersome stuffed animal that would be hard to keep clean. We keep 4 or 5 of these on the go. Two permanently at the daycare and the rest at home so that there are always clean back-ups ready to go. It is a bit pricey for what seems like a very simple concept, but for the comfort and peace that it brings for our daughter, we are very glad we bought this product.

It's cute, but my son was never really into it -when I'd lay it next to him and he'd roll over he'd get upset that the head, which is a hard ball, was difficult for him to get out from under him and was uncomfortable to be on top of. That being said, any odd shaped toy you give a kid will have the same outcome. He just never cared for it... I could have saved my money and continued to let him chew on his blanket.

I purchased this item from a baby boutique when I was pregnant with my 2 1/2 year old daughter. A few weeks prior to giving birth, I slept with the doll to ensure my scent was on it and began putting the doll in the crib and car seat with my daughter as soon as we brought her home. At 6 weeks, we transfered her to her crib and she continued sleeping with her doll. As she's grown, she's continued sleeping with it and she places it under he nose and uses it to fall asleep. We use the doll to soothe her and she's very comfortable when she's holding the doll and always places it under her nose to smell it. Now that she's 2 1/2 she wants to take her baby out of the crib and carries it all over the house, often misplacing it. Our baby loves his cuski :) at just 9 weeks old LO loves to feel, pat and grasp cuski with his hands so I think it also helps with his patterns development (wonder week leap 2) as well as comfort him. I bought this for my one year old granddaughter for Christmas. It is a little too old for her. She did press the buttons but could not play the games. Now that she is 18 months she does press the buttons more and knows the names for the animals. This is a great toy to sit with the child and interact. It is durable and so far has not needed new batteries after 4 months. I would consider this a toy for a 2 year old.

I think it's important to note that this toy is in Spanish, but in proper Spanish from Spain. Many of the animals' names differ from more common Latin American names. Another more minor issue I have with this toy is the male voice that announces the names and instructions. It's very monotone and not "fun" to listen to.

We purchased this for our son Christmas 2004 -he was 18 months old then. He loved it right away and played with it EVERY DAY for 6 months. Travels kept him away from it over the summer, but since then, he still plays with it often, and has now mastered three of the (four) levels of games, in which the user listens to increasingly complex instructions and responds by finding an item or items. And now our daghter, soon to a be a year old, enjoys pressing the buttons and listening to the songs (which still inspire adorable little dances by her big brother).

The bilingual feature is great (we have it in German/English). Our son mastered 1 10 in both languages quickly, thanks to this toy. But don't tell him he was learning; to him it was just fun.

We bought this for our son when he was about 13 months. He loved pushing the buttons (numbers) and colored animals to get the toy to talk to him. He learned his numbers from this toy! He is now 18 months, and can reliably pick any number the toy asks for or I ask for. He also knows the animals and colors of them. The toy has 3 or 4 different settings that ask for different things, such as "find the number 5..." or "which animal says "Moo"?", or "find the orange cat". It will respond with the animal sound, and the voice saying" this is the orange cat". Our son gets them all every time!

We haven't used the Spanish setting, though our son loves to flip to it, and then he has NO idea what the voice is saying, but he keeps doing it anyway!

Great toy, well worth the money!

This has been a favorite toy from age 1 and is still in use from time to time at 3+. There are multiple levels of activities, each a little more challenging than the last, so it gets rediscovered every few months. I tend not to like battery-operated toys, but this one is not offensive. The voice and music are not annoying, and it has two volume levels.

...but my son can't get enough of this thing. I am constantly torn between congratulating myself for finding something he enjoys so much...and psychologically flogging myself for buying my toddler a HORN.

This toy is great! It is simple, solid plastic and really easy for small kids to use. My daughter figured out how to use it at 7 months old and she hasn't stopped blowing this horn since (now 11 months old). We have also bought other horns (tommy toot and one man band) from this company and are very satisfied with the quality. We were concerned when our daughter was not vocalizing yet at 7 months old, so we purchased this horn so she could practice making some noise, and once she understood how to use it, she has been tooting it everywhere. Only complaint is that when we received the horn it made noise both ways (both sucking and blowing into it). After it got full of a lot of spit (teething and drooling a lot) it only made the sound while blowing. It is still useful though, because you can blow on both sides for different sounds. I'm not sure why there are a bunch of choking hazard warnings on this product. It is solid plastic and I don't see any marbles or balls.

Definitely my fault for not looking at the size, but looked at a bunch of trumpets, none were this small except the party favors. It is only 5 inches long. The sound is not bad, but nothing like a trumpet, more like a b-day party favor or kazoo. Not a bad toy, just not worth $9 plus $5 for shipping. I will read all the fine print next time.
