Infantino Barn Shape Sorter

We got this as a gift and it was a hit with my son (6 months old then) right away! He loves to take out the animals and chew on them and he's been able to figure out how to open the barn door to get at the letters inside (8 months old now)! My only complaint is that the barn door doesn't open when the animals are in place. As far as cleaning, we just put the whole thing in the dishwasher when it starts to look dirty, so easy!!

My daughter got this when she was 6 months old, so she was a little young to truly appreciate it for what you're supposed to actually do with it. That being said, she really did enjoy crawling over to it, pulling out the animals and either crawling away with them or sucking on them, and they are large enough that I didn't have to worry about her choking or getting them stuck in throat. Now that she's older, she really enjoys the clock, chickens and spinning thing on the sides. She's not so crazy about the letters-they are difficult to get into the holes unless you line them up just right AND push them in-she doesn't really have the patience for that. She does still enjoy the animals, although most of the time she pulls them off, opens the barn door and plays farm. As a sorting toy, it's lacking, but if you have a child who is creative, like most kids, they will surprise you and end up using it for something other than what it was intended-in this case, playing farm, not learning shapes. Either way, the bright colors are fun and it provides some good entertainment. I LOVE it because it makes NO NOISE!!! So that gives me a break from all the songs, voices, and funny instructions that many of her other toys have.

This is a great shape sorter. I didn't have the previous one, but my daughter did have three other ones and I liked this one the best. You can play with the animals as well as sort the shapes they are standing in and the letters are also for sorting as well as practicing your abcs. It doesn't come with any talking or music-which I happen to really like. It has a little clock on the side and is great for imaginative play. We brought this toy with us on a 15 day vacation and my 18 month old daughter found many ways to play with it besides shape sorting. It is true that if the animals are in place, you can't open the barn door, but that just made her work on taking them out and putting them back in again. We really enjoy this toy.

This is a very simple toy, doesn't make noise, basic shape sorter. And we like it! My son is under 12 months, but he enjoys handling the animals, opening the barn door, and I go over the letters and animal names with him. It's easy to clean, which I like. I'd say this is good from over 6 months to whenever they get bored with it. It's a colorful toy at a reasonable price! (if you get it on sale, like I did!)

My daughter LOVED this toy. It kept her busy many an evening while I made supper. She loves the animals and the letters. She very much abused this and it held up perfectly. I would find the little figures all over the house, cutely arranged in little vignettes. I think the letters were definitely hard at first, but isn't that the point? If you buy a toy and your kid can immediately figure it out, then you've wasted your money. It made a great first birthday present and was very fun to "show" her how to play with it. She spent many careful hours rotating, examining, and trying to fit each piece (in fact, she wasn't satisfied until each animal faced OUT). This toy taught her to persevere and be patient. I definitely recommend this toy to anyone with a young toddler! I wouldn't bother for any kid under a year though. They'll just drool on it or throw the pieces around.

My baby girl has loved "Baby Tad" since she was three months old. As an infant they love to watch the lights and listen to the sweet songs it plays. Baby Tad has the sweetest voice and cutest face, which both appeal to baby. Whenever baby is fussy, when I bring out Baby Tad, she just smiles and hugs him. Boikido Wooden Ride on Violette

I gave this two stars because it's cute and seems like it's durable. Usage is where it fails. My son has had some fun chewing on the handlebars and that's about it. He has tried to ride it but the wheels are positioned so that his feet constantly knock either the front or back wheels so he can't get anywhere pushing with his feet. The wheels are not wide enough apart, either, so the vehicle tips over easily and he's fallen twice trying to get off of it. Since he's only gotten on it about four times that's not a good track record. Anyway, I'm hoping he might be able to ride it at some point but I'm buying a different ride-on toy to see if it works better for him.

UPDATE 12/5/12--My son can ride this toy just fine now at the age of 23 months. He learned to ride on another bike first. His legs are obviously longer and his dexterity is much better than it was when I first wrote the review. I'm glad to finally be able to use it. He did much better initially using the radio flyer bike. This Boikido bike seems to not be the best choice for initially learning to ride and maneuver.

I handed the wrapped package to my grandson (1) and he ripped it open. We broke it open from the packaging, which was not hard, and then gave it to him. He dashed across the floor with the frog right behind. Then his older brother (3) decided he would like it. So they yelled and screamed for possession of the toy. Finally, we promised the older boy that he could have one, too.

Peace was restored in the house. The frog is really cute, almost indestructible, and just appropriate for the age group. Just plan on getting two of them if you have two toddler-age kids.

This little frog is so cute. I ordered it for my nephew for Christmas. He is a little too young to actually walk with it but he like the colors and he was tickled when someone else walked with it. Very sturdy. I can not remember all the details about this toy, but I do know that when I opened the package before I wrapped it I said "Aawwww that is soooo cute!"

These are really great. They are about the same size or a tad larger then as a softball with the prickly points added on. As a previous reviewer stated I bought these for a child with a sensory issue as well. He has fun rolling them between his hands and against his face. There are hard but not hard enough to harm or cause discomfort. They are bright and colorful. These balls also seem very durable. I am not concerned about them falling apart. My younger two children (ages 2 and 4) love them as much as big brother.

The only reason I am rating them 4 starts versus 5 is I would have made them just a hair softer and they seem a tad on the pricey side. Minor quibbles and overall very good toys.

Little Tikes 5-in-1 Adjustable Gym

I have a unique perspective because this was purchased for my son who is disabled. Because of a brain hemorrhage at birth, he is mentally delayed. He really enjoys these types of activity centers. This one is great because of the spinning cylinder with beads. The problems would be that the buttons are so high that a baby sitting on the floor can't reach them. Also, the spinning things on both sides of the cylinder don't spin very well unless the toy is positioned just right. Because the toy is for my son, I haven't had a chance to try out the drawing surface on the back side. Just an FYI, my wife thought it would be like a white board but it isn't. White board markers don't easily erase.

I am surprised by some of the low reviews. This is an amazingly versatile toy that goes a LONG way for your money. The ONLY way to fairly review this product is to see how well it holds up over time because it really grows with your growing baby. Let me explain...

We first got this as a gift from a relative for our son, who was 3 months old at the time. He could barely reach it while lying on his back. Kind of disappointing, but propping him up closer with layers of blankets underneath him did the trick. It wasn't his most favorite toy, but it kept him busy for couple hours each day.

Then he got big enough to crawl, so we adjusted the gym for his size. Still not his most favorite toy, but still played with it for an hour or two each day.

Then he's 9 months old. We adjusted the gym once again. While his other expensive toys came and went as he outgrew them, the baby always seemed to go back to this gym. It just looks new to him each time it is reconfigured into a different way.

Then he's a year old, and could sit. We adjusted the gym to become a sitting bench area for him, and he would sit on it for half an hour at times. Not his most favorite toy, but still very useful and kept him busy, especially if he wanted to play with a toy on the flat side of the reversible tabletop.

Now he's almost 1.5 years old. Most of his toys received as an infant were packed away or given away because he outgrew them, but not this Old Reliable still going strong and still sits at the center of his playpen.

So yes, it's not the most entertaining toy or the next Tickle Me Elmo, but I don't know of a single other toy that could be used from the day a baby's born until he's 2 or 3, do you? For $35, that is an amazing value, and that's why this product should deserve nothing less than 5 stars for all the mileage you can get out of it. All these other low reviews only reflect a snapshot of time, such as when it is first purchased, and not how it fares well over the years.

When my oldest wasw younger I had a similar item that made noise and lit up when he kicked it, this however does not compare. My mom wanted to buy a toy box for my little girl. After extensive research I couldn't find any other toy box to match the Daniella set in color combination or the wood of her bedroom set. Since I have pretty much the entire Daniella set, I decided to get her this to match. It does match well and was easy to put together. My only concern is I didn't pay much attention to the dimensions. It is small. Not what I expected for toys. With the size of her toys, not many will fit inside. The toy-box is much bigger then I had expected, which is good because my daughter has a lot of toys. Putting it together was pretty easy but the screws and hardware that it comes with are kind of cheap and flimsy; while screwing in one of the inside hinges, the head of the screw just snapped off! Also the lid of it is kind of heavy and the supports just slow it from slamming on fingers, it doesn't actually hold it open... which makes it a bit of a pain to fill it up, and I'm sure, in the future, my little one won't appreciate that as she is looking for a specific toy. But besides those minor things it seems to be pretty decent quality, and it does go beautifully with the rest of the set.

Infantino Push, Crawl and Sort

This is a pretty decent little toy. It was my 10-month-old son's first shape-sorting toy, and within a few days he had it all figured out. He carries the blocks around with him as much as he puts them in the sorter, but he definitely enjoys them. If you're buying it for the educational value of sorting the shapes, great. If you're buying it b/c it plays (actually sort of decent) music, don't bother. By the end of the first day it was getting iffy if it would play or not, now that it's two weeks old, it hardly ever does.

One word of caution my son can fit the blocks in his mouth. He's never shoved one all the way in, but there's potential for it. Would have liked to see them a little bit bigger. They do however have a small whole in the end of each which I'm guessing is for air flow "just in case." However, b/c of this, it's never a play-with-it-without-supervision toy.

I gave this toy a 3 star overall because of the lights. I had read reviews of this toy other places & it seemed great. But we got it yesterday & although the little plastic pieces that cover the lights are obviously different colors-there's a yellow one on there, as well as red, green & blue, they don't light up that way. They ALL light up red. And it's a fairly dim light, too. I thought maybe it was the batteries that came with it, so I changed them out with brand new ones but the lights are still all red. My baby is only 4 1/2 months old, so I took the shaped pieces away & will save those until he's older. I got the toy mainly to help encourage him to crawl and he does seem interested...but like I wrote, we've only had it one day so far. I like that when he gets older, it's also a shape sorter...one less toy to have to buy later. But really, the fact that the lights only light up red really is disappointing.

Little Mommy Baby So New Leopard Outfit Doll

I just got this baby doll for my niece that will be 1 this year because I had gotten my daughter one close to this one when she was 1. They are the perfect size for them since they are smaller but yet still a decent size so they fit in strollers and all. I opened the bag that was over the box and got a huge smell from the baby. A good like baby fresh or baby powder smell. The smell eventually leaves especially if you wash them but its still a neat thing in the beginning for the kids. If you wash them I suggest washing them in cold water, on the gentlest cycle possible and put them in a pillow case that you tie the end on so their actually plastic parts don't get messed up too much. I have washed my daughters about 3 times and it still looks great. I love that the doll also comes with a bottle and little blanket/wash cloth thing.

My older daughter has one similar to this that she got when she was younger and insisted that her new baby sister gets one as well. Of course the baby is still way too young so I will most likely be holding onto this until her first birthday. Since I already have lots of experience with Little Mommy dolls, I know I can rate this with confidence that in about a year from now I will still be very happy with this purchase :) This doll was originally seen in Target at a cheaper price, however when I went to buy the doll they no longer had it and could not tell me if they would get more, I even called within 50 mile radius pink and leopard has been this baby's theme. So fearing that I wouldn't see it again I paid the extra cost on Amazon (which was several dollars more than what Target's price was).

So, I bought this for him, not sure how he'd react (he's not really into stuffed animals)... but he loves it! I got one of these as a baby shower gift before my son was born by a friend whose sons have the duck and the frog. Now, at 7 months old Mr. Bear is an integral part of our bedtime routine. He lives ONLY in the crib (although there's one in our babysitter's travel crib for naptimes) and my son loves to snuggle up with him at bedtime. I feel safe having it in the crib with him because the blanket part is small enough that he could never get it wrapped around his head (although he does often sleep with it over his face) to suffocate him. Fisher-Price Moo Sounds Milk & Cookies

My son just turned 9 months old but received this as a gift when he was about 7 months old. He loves to sort things and put them in and out of containers, so this was perfect. The jar is half filled with fake "milk," so he does not have to reach all the way to the bottom of the container to get the cookies. His little hands can easily pull them in and out. The cookies are small enough for him to pick up on his own (it comes with 5 colorful cookies), and he likes to reach into the plastic "jar" to pull them out. They are also soft enough that he can put them in his mouth without hurting himself. Each cookie has a texture to it, too, and he likes touching them with his fingers (I sometimes give him the cookies to play with while I am changing his diaper so it keeps him occupied). The container makes a "moo" sound when you turn it upside down, and my little guy enjoys turning it over and over again to hear it (which usually captures the attention of our dog, too). There is a thin blue lid that can be pulled on and off, but my son had difficulty doing this himself at this age, so we wound up just keeping the top off of it. Maybe the only negative is that we wound up losing one of the cookies, since he likes to carry them around sometimes. But that is certainly not the fault of Fisher Price!

Overall, great toy for 6-9 months. I assume he'll get bored with it as he gets older, since there is not much excitement to it, but for now, it suits him just fine! Another great toy for babies who like to sort and pick up pieces is the Fisher Price counting piggy bank. Both of these toys get a lot of use in our house (and must be cleaned often! Ha!). They are also both really cute and colorful, with durable designs. I gave this one 4 stars instead of 5 simply because there's not much to it and I don't think there is much educational value in it, but it's fun for him and he likes it.

My main feedback on this item is that it could be so much much better!

One of the reasons I got this particular toy is that I thought it would provide my infant with an actual sound of "moo" that we've been telling her (reading all the farm animal books). In reality, this toy makes sounds like a sick goat (i.e., nothing like a cow!)...

The other reason I got this toy was that I thought it would make a sound when you put the little "cookie" inside, but in reality it makes a sound when you turn it upside down. Not sure what this is supposed to teach a baby, but this toy ended up being the complete opposite of "fun."

What would have been a good toy in my opinion is if it made a _correct_ sound when you _deposited_ the little cookie. Oh, and almost forgot, the little sticker that attached to the base is more trouble than it's worth. It makes it more appealing but we had to remove it on the first night that we received the toy...

I was buying the similar Fisher-Price Piggy Bank for my mother (she works with developmentally delayed children in a school setting) when I threw this product in, just in case someone walks off with the piggy bank. My mom really likes this, and might even use it instead of the pig it is a great size (a little smaller than the pig, and less rotund so it's easier to store when space is tight), and looks really sturdy. Only one problem: I was told that when it is tipped upside down it doesn't sound so much like a cow mooing as a lamb being slaughtered. I didn't hear the noise personally, but I did hear my mom and sister laughing at it from a floor away. This is absolutely fine for us my mom doesn't like the noises anyway, and usually turns them off when working with kids particularly since she gets a kick out of it, but I can see that being a problem for someone else...

I purchased this for my daughter when she was approx. 16 months and very new to walking. At first she was somewhat frustrated that she couldn't get the duck to make the repetitive flapping noise, but once she learned how to push the duck straight (not as easy as it may appear) she had loads of fun with it. She is now 22 months and still reaches for this toy at least once a day.

My daughter loves this toy. She received it as a gift on her first birthday, 7 months ago. The leather flapping shoes have been worn out! They are curved from all the walking. She plays with it every day. Its my favorite, as well. I couldn't be happier. Every child is different, and yours might not be interested in push toys. If you want to try one, this one is very durable and has suffered much abuse, without a single spot of paint chipped at all. I highly recommend this item; i haven't tried their other items but will certainly do so.

Not very satisfied. The duck is very cute but does not make a flapping noise. I was looking for a flapping duck since my son loved a similar duck push toy that he played with at a friend's house. This one does not compare and he stops playing with it a minute after picking it up.

This is a must have for any toddler! I bought one for my brothers triplets who were 1 1/2 years old at the time. They loved it! One would push & the other 2 would chase after it. They love watching the duck waddle & its feet go round & round. Best of all, no batteries! Yaayyyy!!

Fifteen years ago, I bought my daughter a little push clown from the same company. It was her favorite toy & was passed onto her brother. With heavy playing by 2 children it never lost any of its paint or parts. It's something we are saving for grandchildren one day.
