Mary Meyer Sweet Rascals, Lainey Yellow Lab, 9"

Mary Meyer Sweet Rascals, Lainey Yellow Lab, 9'THIS IS A VERY SOFT, DURABLE, CUTE TOY PLUSH. IT HAS A REALISTIC LOOK AND IS GREAT FOR BABIES. THE MATERIAL IS EXTREMELY SOFT AND CUDDLE.

The order came within a week. The quality and color was perfect. We loved it. The size appears smaller then 9inches but we love it.

I purchased this item based on another review that stated it was a good toy for babies. I am teaching my baby sign language and thought a little toy dog would be good incentive to learn the sign for dog. Unfortunately my daughter is teething and everything goes in her mouth and gets chewed on. I was very disappointed when a simple tug at the fur on the top of the doggy's head resulted in several strands coming out. As a result, this stuffed toy will be put away until she is past the age of chewing on everything.

Otherwise, for collectors or for older children, the puppy dog has a very sweet face and is very soft.

Fisher-Price Little People Mini Farm

Fisher-Price Little People Mini FarmI got this playset for my little sister for her birthday. She really likes farm animals and enjoyed playing with this toy. It doesn't make noise, which I thought it did when I bought it, but she made the noises herself and so it was alright. I recommend this toy.

I am very happy that our grandson enjoys

this nice toy with which he can use his imagination and creativity . My own children enjoyed loved the same toys.

My kids tend to play with the things that came with the barn as opposed to the barn itself (they prefer the big one). The little tractor is the absolute favorite out of this. I do believe it is cheaper in stores though than on here.

Lights & Sounds Butterfly

Lights & Sounds ButterflyWe have a 25 year old profoundly retarded (and that's a perfectly good word!) son who loves things he can push and get music from. Normally I check to make sure that no matter how often he pushes a button -and it is often repeatedly -the tune will continue playing until done. But this little butterfly doesn't. If he pushes it once, the tune plays, and then pushes it again, it stops. At first he threw it down in disgust (it withstood that treatment beautifully) and then picked it up again and tried again. For him, it may well be educational as it may teach him to wait for the song to finish before pushing again. For Chris, that would be a major learning thing. We have a lovely little granddaughter of about a year old, however, who finds it boring already. All you do is push the button and lights and music come on, play, and stop. You push again and the same thing happens again. For Chris, this is great. For our granddaughter, she's already past it at a year.

YOU MUST KNOW THIS! My 7 month old daughter got this in a family Christmas stocking recently. She likes this toy but within a few hours of having it the paint on the antenna of the butterfly began to peel/chip off (she has 6 teeth and may have bitten it off). I can not let her play with it anymore because of swallowing the hard paint chips... very disappointing because it is a cute toy.

this toy keeps my daughter entertained for a while. She loves touching and playing with the colors and lights. it really catches her attention. perhaps a few things: I wish it had a volume control, the bow could be a little larger, although the current size makes babies focus on small things more when they have to look for them. The toy is well made and safe. My daugther bangs the heck out of it and it hasn't broken yet.

This toy would benefit greatly from an on/off switch. My 9 mo old seems mildly entertained by it, but you can't turn it off, you can't put it away. I think I'm going to have to get rid of it.

Teach My Toddler

Teach My ToddlerI got this as a gift and my son really loves it. It teaches colors, shapes, letters (upper and lower case) and numbers. In each of those categories are a foam board puzzle with pop-out shapes/letter/colors, etc., a large poster display, flash cards, and a board book. The directions say to keep it somewhere out of reach so your child can't play with it on their own and to only go over one section at a time. I found though if I kept it out of reach my son would throw tantrums because he liked playing with especially the shapes so much. One of the posters is already partially ripped and he bit apart the 7 on the foam board while I wasn't looking. For me it doesn't make sense to keep it all hidden, even if it means that it gets a little bit destroyed.

I really like this, but find I rarely use the flash cards or posters. My son mostly enjoys the foam puzzles and the books whether playing with me or alone. The only problem I have with it is that they made some silly decisions with the foam puzzles. For example, the triangle isn't an equilateral triangle, but barely so. But the sides are different JUST enough that it won't fit unless you put the correct point up. *I* can barely tell, let alone my 20 month old. The same is true of the 8, one circle is bigger than the other, so the bottom circle has to go on the bottom....but it's very hard for even me to tell that. There are quite a few little flaws in the puzzles like that that while it doesn't seem that big of a deal, it certainly is for an easily frustrated toddler who can't see the extra two millimeters when they're trying to put the piece in the correct hole of the puzzle. Also, I like that the puzzles are foam but the foam is not very durable for my still sometimes orally obsessed little man. Wood would've been better. Overall I like it because he likes it, and it doesn't cause TOO many frustrated tantrums, but enough that I felt it needed mentioning.

The information about the creator of this item says that she is a parent who grew frustrated at the lack of certain educational toys, so she made some herself. Unfortunately, this kit still has the feel of a homemade toy, not fully thought-through, and without the quality or durability one would expect from something that costs so much.

Many drawbacks have been noted by previous reviewers, but I'll review some that I've also noticed. One major thing is that the foam of the puzzles is not very durable, and honestly it's not the easiest thing for toddlers to pull pieces out of and push them into. For the cost of this kit, wooden puzzles should be possible, and they would be much more toddler-friendly.

However, it's the little details that make this kit feel a bit "cheap" or poorly constructed. Some of the shapes have minor asymmetries for no apparent reason -you will find your toddler struggling to turn the triangle the correct way, because the sides aren't quite equal in length, even though all the other (more complicated) shapes are perfectly symmetrical. Similarly, there are other odd choices in the other "units": within the numbers, for example, the numbers 3 and 8 have one semicircle/circle very slightly smaller than the other, again making it more difficult for little hands. But the 6 and 9 are exactly the same shape and are interchangeable, even though that's a case where you might actually want a child to be sensitive to the distinction so they have to get them with the right side up.

And there are other minor things, like the unrealistic scene used to illustrate the shapes book (trees are ovals, a fence is made of diamonds, and for some reason the car has a heart hanging off it). That's okay, but something more annoying is the fact that the colors in the color unit are a little "off." The "pink" color is a little too purplish, making the watermelon used as an illustration in the book for that color look very strange. The "gray" mushrooms also look a bit odd. The other colors aren't as bad, but they all look a little "off" -they're not realistic colors (which would be nice, given that the color book illustrates each color with a food item), but they're also not the bright standard children's colors you'd see in crayons or paints or other toys. Little eyes at this age are still learning to draw appropriate boundaries between colors, so it's important to have good examples. This kit is mediocre, and the color choices seem amateurish for no apparent reason.

There are further inconsistent choices in design that are less helpful. For example, the alphabet set in the kit uses consistent illustrations -the book, the flash cards, and the poster all use the same things (alligator, etc.) for each letter. But the numbers cards and book use a specific set of items for each number, while the poster has generic pictures of stacks of blocks. These block illustrations on the numbers poster all look the same to a toddler, which again is unhelpful and inconsistent (kids below the age of 4 or so don't really understand the abstract concept of number, so all you're really teaching a toddler is the shape of numbers and counting order). Similarly, the colors book uses helpful food items to match up with each color, but these are not found on the other materials. At least with colors it seems more likely that a toddler will understand the abstract concept of each color, though.

All-in-all, the kit just feels like it wasn't designed or manufactured to any high standard -it just seems like something you could have thrown together yourself. And, in fact, you could actually make almost everything in this kit with a few hours of work, and the quality wouldn't be that much worse. You could make up flash cards for letters, numbers, colors, and shapes. I'm sure you could even download templates online. You could make posters. And you could even make up simple books using heavy paper (which admittedly would be less durable than the board books here). Or you could buy such things -there are obviously board books out there (as well as flash cards and posters) that cover the alphabet or numbers or whatever, and they're more interesting and exciting to kids than these materials. About the only thing that would be harder to make yourself would be the puzzles, but there are in fact high quality plastic or wooden puzzles out there that also do letters, numbers, shapes, etc. You could buy a number of those puzzles for the cost of this kit.

The main thing this kit has going for it is that all the stuff is in one case (which also isn't very durable). So, it's something that you can bring out, and your toddler will recognize it and get excited about the various options inside. Again, you could do the same effect with homemade materials, though -using a filing folder or even just a box with various items in.

Honestly, I have used the kit because I already own it, but I wouldn't really advise people to buy it for the price it is offered. Instead, if you're at all creative, you could easily make up similar materials of similar quality yourself with a few hours' work. Or, you could assemble better quality items that are manufactured by others and do the same thing. If the design choices were a little better and used more durable materials, this kit would be a great idea.

I had bought this for my very active 19 month old son... He does seem to like to play with the activity, but will just last through one for 15min or so at best.. My complaint about this product is how cheep the puzzles are made the first time he pulled one of the letters out it ripped.. He has now ripped 3 letter just by taking them out as the directions suggest for the child to do so.. Also when putting the puzzle back together its pretty frustrating for a young child you really have to push pretty hard. they should of had a backing on the board and backing on the individual pieces.. Other then that its pretty good.

My friend recommended this (her daughter loves it), so I made the purchase. My 22-month-old son loves the puzzles (especially the shapes, and he was able to identify them all after a few weeks). But since the puzzles are made of flimsy foam, and since he's still a bit mouthy, they all have teeth marks in them, and a few pieces are already broken. Other than the puzzles, the rest of the materials are not that fabulous (the books are boring, the animals that represent the alphabet -i.e. "A for Alligator" are creepy-looking). If I had paid half the cost, I wouldn't be so harsh in my review, but this was a bit pricey, and so I had high expectations that were not met. Don't waste your money.

This is a great company. I think they just know how kids think. My son (2.5 years old) loves to play with each of the sections. He often brings the box over to me (yes it is light enough for a 2 year old to lift by the handle) and wants me to open the box. Each section is separated by a heavy plastic divider.

At home we do not have a schedule we keep for reviewing the sections. Our son typically drives the play. We don't leave the pieces out, but take the time to put everything away. The puzzles are lightweight but a nice quality foam. The pieces for the puzzles go together without too much effort. Easy for little children's fingers to manage.

My son's current favorite section is the colors. He likes to match up the colors with the crayons. It's nice that the puzzle pieces are shaped to only fit one correct spot. You will notice that many lower quality puzzles have only one or two shapes. Having specific puzzle shapes for each letter/color makes it easier for a child to associate where each piece goes. This is the second set by this developer. There is a first set which is also fantastic!

This set is a great value, again I was unable to get close to creating/collecting my own set for the price (full retail). This is really worth it and I would recommend it to anyone with small children. Teach My Toddler

TY Beanie Baby - JAZ the Cat

TY Beanie Baby - JAZ the CatThis is a real cut kitty. I like the fuzzy pastel furr. Considering the tie-dye appearence of the fabric, the colors are random, which would mean that each cat will be a bit different. It has a purple ribbon tied in a bow around his neck. He has a cute pink nose and pink wiskers (made of strands of yarn). It has blue eyes with black pupils. It has purple fuzzy fabric on the bottom of his paws.

HABA Glori Clutching toy

HABA Glori Clutching toyThe parts are bell shaped. So once he could get his mouth around the wide part, it went all the way in, but then his mouth closed around the narrow part. Needless to say it was a little worrisome and this is probably more dangerous than you might think.

The toy isn't that interesting and only rattles, but the quality is great. It adds interest to the little basket of wooden toys my baby likes to play with. Very durable!

Hearts Pacifier Chain

Hearts Pacifier ChainMy daughter loves this pacifier chain. We get tons of compliments on it all the time. Besides being so darn cute and vibrant the best thing about this chain is that she can not remove the pacifier and has not been able to remove the clip. All other chains with velcro leave us with no pacifier because she takes it apart and throws her pacifier away.

I love all Haba toys as they are usually of excellent quality. This one, however, came apart after 2 weeks. It. is a chain of wooden individual pieces. Babies love to chew on these chains, especially while teething. Fortunately, I noticed that one of the elements came apart before my daughter could choke on it. The drilled hole in the piece must have been too big and thus caused thhe whole piece to crack. I broke it off the chain. A few days later I saw another crack on the next individual part and also broke this off, before my baby could choke on this part. I then threw the whole chain away. I am really disappointed by this product's quality and will contact Haba about this.

Bumkins Waterproof Junior Bib

Bumkins Junior Bib, BabyThis bib is absolutely fantastic! I've used other Bumkins bibs and have LOVED those too. However, my 14 month old daughter was able to pull them off and throw them on the floor while she was eating. This Bumkins Junior Bib gives more coverage and my daughter is unable to pull it off. This bib is a life (and clothes) saver!

I'm only giving this 4 stars because we never use the sleeves even though we need them. We definitely need the sleeve area of protected from food stains for our little one but it's just too much of a hassle putting the arms in. Besides that, this is the best bib i've used, and I've bought a lot of different bibs. Save your money, buy this one from the beginning. I bought cheap ones which would be hard to clean, would get stinky, the plastic would tear and scratch the baby and his clothes would still get dirty. Also, because this bib is not made of harder plastic, i can quickly slip it on my little guy before he has a chance to protest. And the patterns are so trendy! Just beware, these things are quite long. They come to my son's knees (he's 16 months old).

Buy Bumkins Waterproof Junior Bib Now

I bought these bibs for my twin grandchildren because their mother loved the long sleeved ones so much. With the weather so much warmer, long sleeves were sometimes too hot. We were disappointed to find these bibs have Velcro closures instead of the tie closures mentioned in the product description. (this is a quote from the description: "This full coverage bib features a catch all pocket and tie closure.") She prefers the ties because she has found that the Velcro doesn't hold as well after several washes. I hope they haven't made this a permanent change.

We own 3 Bumkins Waterproof Junior Bibs (Animal, Pet Parade, and another one I don't know the name of). We have used the Junior sized bib since our son was about 12 months old and we still use these bibs at 26 months. It still comes down almost to his waist at 36 inches tall. These bibs are a thin, soft plastic with arm holes, Velcro to attach it at the back of the neck, and a pocket in front to catch falling foods/liquids. The bib covers the front and sides of my skinny son's torso and his shoulders.

We have had no trouble with any of the bibs. We machine wash them after two or three days of use and just wipe off any excess in between. We used to clean with a soapy cloth when we first got them but we feel it isn't necessary now.

He does not mind putting his arms into it but he does have trouble taking it off by himself and is sometimes frustrated by it. He has started getting into his chair by himself, and if he is wearing the bib already then his knees often catch the bib and give him trouble getting into the chair. This is a recent development and was not an issue the first year we used these bibs.

Pros:

*Good coverage without being in the way.

*Water proof. We haven't thoroughly tested this thanks to sippy cups.

*Sturdy has never torn or cracked. Velcro has held up through many washes.

*Easy to clean wipe with a paper towel or rag, use soap if needed, machine wash. We even machine dry though it says not to on the label.

*Portable folds easily for stuffing into purse or large pocket. It is handy to take to a restaurant and fold the dirty side into itself so food and sticky bits don't get in Mommy's purse.

*Pocket at the bottom to catch falling food.

*Difficult for child to remove on their own.

*Fun prints encourages my kid to want to wear it and also served as an emergency distraction until he was old enough for crayons and other table toys (like my iPhone).

Cons:

*Large surface area may get in the way of climbing onto a chair/booth.

*Difficult for child to remove on their own.

Overall Mommy and I rate them 5/5 stars because of the coverage, folded size, and ease of cleaning as compared to cloth bibs.

Want Bumkins Waterproof Junior Bib Discount?

As a mom of twins I only tend to like products that make my life simpler. These are my favorite bibs for three reasons:

1. No hand washing! This bib is truly machine washable and _does not_ have a plastic layer to crack and wear out like other cheaper bibs. Thus no replacement costs down the road. This make the higher investment up front well worth it. I have even accidentally put these bibs in the dryer and they are no worse for wear.

2. I love the themes! The Dr. Seuss themes are silly and my daughters can relate to them from their books. The other themes, dogs, farm, bugs, flowers are all bright and cheery. My daughters love to point to their bib and make their animal sounds.

3. They are huge! The bibs completely cover my daughters from neck to knee. (The twins are 16 months old.) This is especially handy when they are eating in their car seats on the go.

Bright Starts Having a Ball Roll and Chase Bumble Bee

Bright Starts Having a Ball Roll and Chase Bumble BeeI purchaced this item from a store about a month ago and i am very pleased with it. It is my 2 and a half month old's fav. toy. She loves the bright colors, the flashing lights, music, and the spaztic movements. She plays with it for about 10-15 mins before being bored of it but she definitly loves this toy.

My sister-in-law purchased this toy for my 8 month old son who just started to crawl. He loves this toy and initially watched with amazement the mobility of this toy to move on it's own. After a few minutes, our son was chasing it and trying to tackle it with his little body. It's a little strange to see the toy move on it's own after a few minutes sitting idle, but it's not too loud or obnoxious either. All in all, I think it's a nice gift for a crawling baby.

My husband ordered this toy for our baby for Christmas. It looked like a cute toy that our child would have fun with. Everything was fine until we took the toy out of the box. As soon as the plastic tab was pulled from the battery compartment the toy promptly quit working. Thinking that perhaps the batteries chose that exact moment to go bad I got a screwdriver to attempt to replace them. The screw just turned and turned and would not come out. I worked on it quite a while before giving up and letting other people attempt to remove the screw. No such luck. Deciding that this toy was becoming more trouble than it was worth we contacted Amazon about returning this toy as defective. We were given instructions and a return label for returning the product. Just one more thing a parent that works full-time needs to deal with.

In the meantime a replacement Roll & Chase ball was shipped to us. My excitment about this quickly evaporated when I saw the condition of the replacement toy. The box was beat up and the ball was dirty and scuffed. Looked very much like a refurbished product. I was even more disappointed when I pushed the button to demonstrate the toy. It lit up and did what it was supposed to for about 2 seconds before cutting out. Ever the optimist, I thought maybe it would work once removed from the box. Once again as soon as the plastic tab was pulled out of the battery compartment this pile of junk stopped working. I wasn't even in the mood to try removing the screw to check the batteries. Once again we will have to go through the hassle of returning this product, only this time I DO NOT want another one.

We are extremely dissappointed with this product and the fact that one of the gifts that we got our baby for first Christmas turned out to be a complete dud. I'm just glad that our little one is too young to be dissappointed by this Christmas present. I would give this product zero stars if possible.

Bright Starts Starry Teether

Bright Starts Starry TeetherI didn't know it's recalled until today. I bought this one from Walmart three days ago. It made a blister on my baby's tongue. I think it was caused when he was biting it, his tongue got squeezed between two beads. I will check the consumer report. Do not buy it!!!

Bright Starts Star teether beads (model 8483 and model 8549) were recalled in 2007. The flexible plastic ring that holds the teether beads in place can crack or break, and the beads can detach, posing a choking hazard to infants. Make sure you aren't buying one of these recalled items.

This was exactly what I was looking for. Something in the style of "old-school" teething ring. This fit the bill. Very solid and nothing to worry about. My daughter could chomp away happily on it without me worrying about what she could get off or water. I was very pleased with this product.

Alex Little Hands Talk of the Farm

Alex Little Hands Talk of the FarmWhat a piece of junk. The construction of the truck and the mat is indeed durable but don't be fooled by the description "effortless interactive toy"...like I was...you have to drive back and forth over the notes that make it 'interactive' and press hard. My two year old can't press hard enough to make it play. And the 'music' that the truck plays is about 4 repeated notes, incessant repetition that will send you over the edge in just minutes. My son even says "no" and turns it off himself.

If Santa had kept the packaging, this would already be on its way back to where it came from.

The Talk of the Farm play mat set is cute. The design is simple a sturdy, flat, colorful mat (big enough for a little one to get down on for play, but not so big it takes over a room) that's designed to look like a farm, with various enclosures for the cheerful-looking animals. With its farm-animal theme and little red pickup truck, it looked like a great idea for my 18 month old son, who loves trucks and animals equally. So far, it's been a fairly popular choice among the toys he plays with daily, though he doesn't really play with it in its intended way at this point. Kids are *supposed* to drive the included truck over the mat, stopping at designated spots (marked by musical notes) to hear the "talk of the farm" soundbites about the farm, its animals, and suggestions on what part of the farm to visit next. He'll turn on the truck (which plays a simple, upbeat melody as it rolls along) and dance as he pushes it across every surface in our home EXCEPT the mat. He'll get down on the mat and point to the various animals and make their sounds. He'll even add his own animals to the mat, putting a toy cow on top of the cow pasture, for example. But he has no interest in placing the truck on the "right" spots on the mat and hearing what the mat has to say. At this point, I don't know if it's because he hasn't really connected the talking with the location of the truck, or if he simply prefers his own thoughts and sounds to what the mat has recorded. In either case, he's happy to play with the parts, and that's really all that matters. All in all, this was a good purchase, especially at a discounted price I wouldn't have paid MSRP for this one, but for what I spent, my little guy's getting a good return.

My son who is 15 months adores this toy! He's still too young to grasp the concept of the games that it teaches(Find the pig, etc.) but its kept him busy for the past two days straight! I agree that the sensors are small but in all honestly its a great toy, for a reasonable price. It seems sturdy also, and we've had no problems with batteries draining, or the sounds from the truck sticking. I definitely give this toy 5 stars, and I was disappointed to see the poor reviews when I came back to purchase another for a friends son.

I scoped out educational toys at a local teachers' store, and found this priced at around $40. I was glad to find it on Amazon for much less, and I expected that my 2-year-old would enjoy it. It was a Christmas gift, and while other toys got more attention at the beginning, this one eventually got plenty too. Both my 2 and 4 year old sons like the peppy tune the truck makes. They also enjoy following the instructions given by the toy , and finding the various areas of the farm/play mat. (i.e. "Let's find the sheep meadow. Can you baa like a sheep?") It's a toy I enjoy playing with--with them! We discuss all the work a farmer has to do, and the different animals.

All in all, a creative idea, good quality materials, and pleasant. Well worth the price paid, and I'd buy it again as a gift for toddlers/preschoolers we know.

I bought this for my 2 year old, but he has no idea what to do with it. It i really an adorable toy but youhave to know what a cow and a sheep are and he does not. The truck drives around on the mat and @ certain points, it will talk and tell you to find another part of the mat that talks. He did not get it but an older child would. Definately worth the $8 I spent on it though. He will get it eventually and love it!

I have two other "pillow pals" from another manufacturer. I had the need to buy a third pillow pet and chose this one. The horse actually has 4 feet which allows it to have a little more play value than other pillow pets where the feet are the "corners" of the pillow.

The quality is fine. Its a bit smaller than some of the other pillow pets, but, trust me the size is fine. If you are considering buying this item I would say its 'good enough'.

Lamaze Trotter the Pony

Lamaze Trotter the PonyTrotter is so much fun. My daughter loves his bright colors and fun noises. He is a little sensitive and nays when we walk across the floor. Luckily he does have an on/off switch which is helpful for car rides. Great toy for babies that are learning to sit on their own.

Bought this for my niece that had just turned one, she loves it carries it all over the house and luaghs none stop as it galups and makes cute horse noises!

Very good toy for the price. Doesn't have bells and whistles, but my six month old loves the little tags. I'm looking forward to him growing into it.

Plush Santa's Workshop Baby Talk Playset 8"

Plush Santa's Workshop Baby Talk Playset 8'I bought this set at the beginning of December for my 28 month old son. I thought it would be fun for him to have a Christmas themed toy for the month, since he's more excited about Christmas this year than last. I was surprised to receive it and realize that all the 4 little characters make a noise or song when squeezed. I just double-checked the product description and it says nothing of this fact, which is fine, but that's why I'm always hesitant to buy things without product reviews!

So I'll be the first to review for others.

When squeezed, the Santa says "Ho ho ho."

The Elf makes a kind of xylophone, "magic" sound similar to a sound of turning the page for read along books.

Snowman plays the tune of "Frosty the Snowman."

Reindeer plays the tune of "Jingle Bells."

All the sounds are fine, just note that the Frosty and Jingle Bells songs are really FAST, so if your toddler asks you to sing along, you will have to sing FAST!

The Santa's Workshop is sturdy and my toddler loves toting it around by the handle and putting all the characters inside.

All in all, it's a very cute gift for toddlers and fun for the holidays. I'm sure that eventually when the tiny battery wears down inside the characters, my son will still enjoy them without the sounds.

Sassy Developmental Bumpy Ball

Sassy Developmental Bumpy BallI'm surprised at these reviewers who are disappointed that the ball doesn't vibrate, because my baby absolutely loves it despite this. He laughed out loud the first time he saw it, and has loved it ever since. He's now 8 months old, and we first showed it to him about about 3-4 months old. I don't see any sign of him getting tired of it yet!

Update: Now at 10 months old, my baby appears uninterested in the toy.

My daughter loves this ball so much! I included a picture of her playing with it when she was just 4 months old. She still enjoys it now and she's 7.5 months old. Now she's trying to crawl after it instead of just holding it too, it's so cute. She also loved staring at this ball when she was a newborn.

It does not vibrate as some others complained about, however, it never claimed to vibrate anywhere on the description, so perhaps those people should just read what they're getting before instead of giving it a bad review after they were so careless in choosing a product... Just my opinion.

If you want a ball with vibrant contrasting colors that are easy for babies to see, big knobs that are easy for baby to grab and rattling beads that help teach baby cause and effect, then this is a great one to choose. :)

UPDATE: At 11 months she still plays with this ball. She also plays with all her other balls and has fun rolling them across the room or chasing after them or just throwing them over her shoulder hehe. She also uses this one as a rattle sometimes too since she loves anything that makes noise. :)

I like the bumpy soft playful ball.

But my twin boys don't play with it much.

They are 7 months so maybe will in the next couple of months.

This ball is colorful, easy to hold, chew on, and makes fun noises. When I first received it I accidentally dropped it off my bed onto my hardwood floors. I just knew I had cracked the hard plastic piece that contains the smaller beads and balls. It did not break or crack from the fall. If the ends came apart and the smaller pieces came out, they could cause a choking problem. Knowing that this toy is durable and safe gave me piece of mind in allowing my granddaughter to play with it.

I read the reviews that people with small infants loved this ball. My little one did not have any interest in the ball until she was close to 9 months. She now loves to roll and try to bounce it back and forth. And for some amazing reason it is the only toy that she didn't try to put in her mouth when she first saw it.

Hasbro Baby Alive Luv N Snuggle African American

Hasbro Baby Alive Luv N Snuggle African AmericanI got this for my 8 month old daughter and she loves it! My children are biracial (half Caucasian, half African american) and it has been very difficult to find any dolls that are not Caucasian. It seems that there is a wide variety of Caucasian dolls on store shelves, but very limited when it comes to dolls of any other race. I have noticed that even some of the most popular dolls like the fisher price brilliant basics doll ONLY come in Caucasian. So glad I found this so she can have dolls of all races to play with and not be limited to only one. I will be buying more baby alive dolls :)

I was very excited to get this for my daughter. When I opened up the box the doll appeared already opened (only sealed by a plastic bag and a very dented box) This doll would never be sold like this at a store. Fortunately we are giving this to her for Christmas but I would never give as gift to a friend's child. The doll is also a lot smaller than expected and is not a cute as I expected. It remains to be seen if she will like this doll.

Yookidoo Stack 'N' Spray Tub Fountain

Yookidoo Stack 'N' Spray Tub FountainI purchased this product a couple months ago for my children. They thought it was fun and it seemed to work fine. I recently discovered, however, that when we submerged it in water, orange water came out of the product. I discovered upon removing the battery lid that the liquid was from the batteries. I have pictures of this that I could attach if there was the option to do so here. There is no seal, so the battery compartment is not airtight. I believe this product should be recalled.

My grandchildren come to my house frequently. I bought this bath toy because it looked like fun. It was. Twice. Then it quit working. I changed batteries. Nothing. My daughter bought this toy, too, and it also broke after a couple of uses. Don't bother.

Buy Yookidoo Stack 'N' Spray Tub Fountain Now

Both my 4 year old and 1 year old loved this toy when we got it. had fun with the boats separately and with the whole thing together, but there is a serious flaw in the design (as others mention). The battery compartment door is held in place by 3 screws, but that isn't sufficient to keep the water out of it after a while. The tighter you screw down the door, the longer it will last, but there's always the corners that aren't directly held down that can and will leak.

Things to keep in mind:

if you have one, or decide to get one anyway, really tork down the screws to make it as tight as possible. They did put metal sleeves for the screws, so you shouldn't crossthread them or pull them out.

OR

go ahead and silicone or caulk the battery compartment closed after installing the batteries. I think a thin bead around the edges would keep them in place. You don't want to do it inside, because then you couldn't cut it open easily.

Don't let it run without sitting in water, most pumps will burn out very quickly if you do.

If they had a working website (it says, Under Construction) I would have asked them to replace ours based on the flaw.

Edit: As someone else points out, you can overtighten screws and deform the gasket, although given the location of these screws, that would really only potentially be a problem with one of them.

Melissa & Doug Snowman Stacker

Melissa & Doug Snowman StackerI bought this knowing that my children are above the age for most use. That said, they have had a lot of fun stacking, unstacking and making the snowman look all sorts of crazy. Our little 2 yr old neighbor, though, wow -he LOVES it.

This is a lot larger than I was expecting, which is a good thing. I have been really happy with it and like having durable holiday decorations that I'm not nervous to have little ones play with while they're here.

Purchased to use with preschoolers for a winter themed unit. I think they will love it. Pieces are sturdy and presentation is cute!

I really like a lot of the Melissa & Doug puzzles. I thought this was a cute puzzle/stacker that made a great Christmas gift. My 3 year old really enjoys playing with it. 2 Thumbs up!

Use it just as a Christmas decoration, or let the little ones have fun. They don't seem to care if they get the pieces on the snowman in order or not. Although it is marked for a younger child, I bought it for my 3 1/2 year old granddaughter and she seemed to enjoy it.

I guess I didn't read description good but was expecting this to have so many pieces. THe two lower snowball on the body are actually four diiferent wood pieces that have to be placed opposite to make each snowball. This was way too difficult for my 2 yr. old and 18 month olds to do. Maybe next year they will be able to. ALso the paint did not hold up well on this M&D product at all. I only had this out for a month and there is paint chip everywhere on it, especially the hat. The kids seem to like it and really didn't care what order they put the pieces in, but were always excited for me to make the snowman back for them because they couldn't master it alone. I think it would have been better with just 1 piece for each of the snowballs for the body. I don't know if I would purchase this exact thing again, but love Melissa and Doug products! I hope they have some new Christmas items for next year!
