Sassy Rattlin Ring, Blue /Black

Sassy Rattlin Rings, Blue/BlackI don't know what it is about this toy but it's STILL my daughter's favorite toy and she is 9 months old! We got it for her when she was a month and a half old and just learning how to grasp and feel. The sounds and contrasting colors held her attention wonderfully. A few months later it was a great way to keep her distracted during tummy time. After that it was great to hang on the rings on her carseat or on her play mat. And now it's one of the first toys she crawls to. We love this rattle!

Our 3 month old LOVES this rattle. She giggles when it shakes and the little beads inside move. Honestly this is the first rattle that really catches her attention. She likes to grasp it herself, it's light enough for her to do so. A great deal here on Amazon as well.

My son didn't like this when I first got it for him (at about 3-4 months) I kept it in the diaper bag just in case. It was the only toy I had one day and he was a little over 5 months and teething like crazy. He loved the 3 rings and the nubby green and blue section. He also tries to shove the whole ball in his mouth. He shakes it like mad after slobbering on it using it as a teeter.

All in all get it. It is cheap, not painted and you can put it on your wrist as a bracelet when you don't have an extra hand and a toy is needed.

When my son was just brand new I liked this rattle. The contrast seemed great for a newborn, and I'd dangle it over him while he laid on his back. He was curious and it was nice bonding time. But. Once he was old enough to grab and shake rattles, this one held no interest for him. He (and I) preferred ones a little wider and that didn't loop full circle -they are easier to shake and grab. He (and I) preferred ones that had a teether on them -everything I gave him started going right to his mouth and he quickly learned this one wasn't satisfying on those little gums.

Overall, it wasn't expensive and it did get some use . . . but I'd just suggest going for something a little chunkier that doesn't loop around and that will fit better into their drooling mouth. The infantino peek-a-boo bug was our personal favorite. Sassy also makes something similar to this but that doesn't loop in a full circle and that has a soft, liquid filled teether opposite the ball. He enjoys that one. I'm just going to throw this one out or donate it. It serves no purpose now that we have the other one.

My baby doesn't like this rattle as well as some others with smaller diameter places to grasp but he does like to look at it. I hear that black and white is supposedly stimulating to a baby.

It doesn't make much noise when you shake it, just the plastic rings bouncing up and down. I'd say this is a good church rattle it makes a little noise but not enough to disturb others like some other rattles might.

Bright Starts Pretty In Pink Chime Along Friends (Assorted)

Bright Starts Pretty In Pink Chime Along FriendsMy husband and I chose this toy for our son before he was born and our son really loves it! We hung it from his activity gym and he often kicks and swipes at it. Initially he seemed to be interested in the contrasting colors of the ladybug's belly, the he was attracted to the chimes in the toy. Finally, now that he can more easily grab a hold of the toy, he is very interested in the crinkles of the ladybug's back and he loves to bite the toy. Our son is seven months old now and he still plays with this toy.

When we bought this toy (July 2012) it was available cheaper at Target.

This was way too long for the car seat, it hits my baby girl in the face. We put it on her play mat and she seems to like it there.

My 3 month old daughter LOVES this toy! We received it at our baby shower and she just lights up when she sees the ladybug. The chime is really nice too, a very organic peaceful sound.

These colorful carrier toys are a great way to encourage your baby to work on his or her motor skills while spending time in a carrier. My little one, who is almost four months old, has always enjoyed kicking things far more than reaching for them. Once I hung these up, though, he immediately tried to stretch both hands out to touch them. Soon, he was working on swatting at them.

He seems to enjoy the 'chime' sound (they do sound sort of like wind chimes when both of them are being knocked around), but what he REALLY likes is that the two we have also have cellophane in them. Ladybug (pictured on the Amazon listing) has a little bit under her back, but Butterfly's wings are entirely cellophane inside, which makes her the louder of the two. Baby recently discovered the joy of crinkling chips bags, so he was beyond excited to discover that he could make the same sounds by squeezing the butterfly.

The plastic loop is tight and sturdy. The open ends meet just as the Amazon photo depicts, so these will not easily come off of the carrier handle. With enough force, I think the fabric that secures the toy into the plastic loop could come undone, but I don't think it is something a younger baby could accomplish.

At the time of this review, Target carried the two styles I purchased for under $5 each.

I have had this toy for about 6 months now. As soon as my daughter started being able to make her arms do what she wanted to, she began batting at this toy. She likes the chime sound. The toy is durable, all of its parts seem well attached, and as yet I am unworried about any of them detaching. I have it hanging from her activity center and she loves punching it, grabbing it, shaking it, and biting the body of the lion. I only have the lion so I can't say anything about any of the other chime along friends. It is very colorful and visually appealing. It's pretty danged cute too.

However, what I think doesn't matter. All that matters is that she loves it.

Ahoy Baby Shower Birthday Boy Room Decorating Kit

Ahoy Baby Shower Birthday Boy Room Decorating KitSuper cute, well made and will be able to use again next year for birthday. I purchased to go along with my sons sea life themed first birthday. Obviously some pieces would look silly for an older child, but this is great first birthday decor.

Steiff Sleep Well Bear Pale Pink 8"

Steiff Sleep Well Bear Pale Pink 8'This was my favorite gift at my baby shower. I kept this little guy with my daughter all the time and although I had to replace it a year into DD's life because she somehow threw it out of the carriage one tol many times, both me and my daughter fell in love with Steiff over this little guy.

Mini Pacifier Favor Charms Pink (24)

Mini Pacifier Favor Charms PinkI used the charms for decorating party favors for my friend's baby shower. The charms are pretty, a translucent deep pink hue. They added a nice element to the party favors. However, I think they are really expensive at $7 for a pack of 24. The quality of the plastic is good though.

Haba Clutching Nanni Toy

Haba Clutching Nanni ToyI purchased this for our 3-month old son for Christmas, and it was the first toy that he could hold on his own. I especially love that the lamb is attached with Velcro so that it can be removed for cleaning, although the edges of the velcro are a little rougher than I'd like...especially considering the fact that it's meant to be chewed on.

green sprouts Cornstarch Ring Teether

green sprouts Cornstarch Ring Teether, PinkMy baby chose this rattle as her favorite to chew on while she was still gumming. She needed something without the nibs and a little softer than the others so that it would not hurt her. She now has her first tooth and this is still her favorite! The one with the rattle in it is the best, she can shake and chew!

Snuggly Space Friends Alien Pals Wrist Rattle

Snuggly Space Friends Alien Pals Wrist RattleGood idea, but the rattle is hard to rattle if you get what im saying. You have to shake it up too hard for you to even hear the tiny noise coming out of it. Overall, it did its purpose, I guess..

I got these for my son when he was 1 month old, and he never enjoyed looking at them or wearing them unfortunately. They are very cute to me and seem to be well-made. But it's another item we're putting in the Goodwill donation bag after hardly using.

Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Learning Vacuum Cleaner

Fisher-Price  Laugh & Learn Learning Vacuum CleanerI like most of Fisher Price's Laugh and Learn products so I was very disappointed with this vacuum. I have similar complaints as the previous review:

1) The height of the vacuum is VERY short. My daughter is 20 months and on the short side. She almost has to bend over to use it already. I don't know how they market this for up to 3 years of age. It would definitely be too small for a 3 year old.

2) The big purple wheels in the back turn but there is this plastic molding that is in the shape of a wheel underneath the vacuum cleaner that doesn't turn at all. It just drags on the ground. So this would be ok if you use it on carpeting but on hardwood floor, it almost scrapes up the ground. I don't understand by they didn't make this front "wheel" actually spin too.

3) The vacuum doesn't stay upright! It's a pain to store because I have to prop it up with something. If i don't, it just lays on the ground and takes up a lot of space. Everytime my daughter is playing with it, she has to bend all the way to the floor to get to the handle.

4) There aren't many features to this at all. The only features are the on/off switch and the wheels/front part that spin and make music. There is this red knob and green spinning ball that do nothing at all.

5) I don't know why this is called "Laugh and LEARN". There is really no learning. They sing the alphabet so fast that I can barely keep up, let alone a 2 year old.

I haven't looked into any other toy vacuum cleaners but for the price of this, I would have expected it to do a lot more and have better features.

My husband and I, bought this vacuum cleaner for my nephew for his 1st birthday. He loved it and still loves it at 2 years of age. Whenever, I bring my son over who is the same age, the two of them always fight for this vacuum.

Others mentioned that the vacuum is too short for the their toddlers but not for our toddlers. Perfect size. It makes sounds and it sings. My nephew already knows the melodies. After one year of usage, none of the parts have broken.

This vacuum is very cute and has realistic sounds along with its musical and learning modes. Two problems I have with it are:

1) It's REALLY SMALL. My daughter is 18-months-old, of average height, and the handle is a little higher than her waist. I couldn't tell this before I bought it because of the way the thing is packaged. Had I known, I might have opted for a different vacuum.

2) The handle doesn't stand up like a real vacuum, so the wheels always roll out to make it lay flat. Kind of a bummer, but I wish I could just store it in a corner like I do a real vacuum.

One good thing is that it has a volume control, so it's not that loud.

Hi well, we love this product. who cares if it stands up? it actually never occurred to me to be a problem, but it seems important to others. The only reason I bought a vacuum is because my autistic then 3 year old (now 3 1/2)son and my then infant now 14 months were so afraid of the vacuum that I could not use it unless I hired someone to take them out of the house, or Daddy immediately took them out of the house as soon as he got home from work. The vacuum comes out ONLY when Mommy vacuums, and now after having this product since Christmas, my autistic son was vacuuming WITH ME and even banging up against my machine, he was that close. That is so so so cool I had tears in my eyes. They have learned how to help, how to value cleanliness, and how to conquer fear.

If your children are afraid of the vacuum, I highly recommend this product. The small size was PERFECT because my 3 year old was so much bigger than the product--this son is 20% over the 100th percentile mark for his height, and it was proportioned to his body the same as my big Dyson is to me, and I'm 5'4".

when Mommy's vacuum gets put in the closet, so does their vacuum. hooray for my brave boys! :)

I called Fisher Price this morning, the day after purchasing this toy and fearing it was broke. They informed me the reason it doesn't stand on its own is to prevent a child using it as a standing aid, which it is not built to do. This is a safety measure to keep children safe. A great feature on it is volume control. All toys with sound should have it. It is funny how similar the vacuuming noise is to my vacuum. So realistic it scares her in vacuuming mode, for now!

VTech - Baby's Learning Laptop - Pink

VTech - Baby's Learning Laptop - PinkWe bought this at a toy store nearby b/c my baby was mesmerized by the lights on the screen. She's fascinated with the real laptops we have at home and we thought this might be an entertaining toy. She was about 7-8 months at that time and even though the minimum recommended age for this toy starts at 6 months, she really wasn't all that interactive with the laptop at the beginning. She did like to close the top down a lot and as other reviewers have mentioned, she also snapped her fingers in the process a couple of times but she didn't cry too much about the ouchies and it didn't deter her from continuing to play with the laptop.

Now at 10 months, she can be much more engaged and the laptop can usually keep her interest for a good 8 minutes -just enough time for us to scarf down our meal at the table while we all sit down together. This video shows her at the dining table in her highchair. She likes to bash the keys and watch the lights come on while listening to the music. There are 3 modes to the laptop but we usually leave it at the music mode -unless she decides to explore the switch on the side -the other 2 modes are probably more appropriate for older toddlers who are learning shapes, feelings and common objects/sounds. Will they really learn what the laptop is supposedly teaching? I'm not sure but I do love that the volume options aren't too loud, the keys/mouse are easy to manipulate and this is one durable laptop that has survived many, many, MANY falls to the floor from the highchair!!

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my then 9 month old daughter. She loved it instantly. Only problem is that my daughter does like to close the top because it seems so fun to her to do. But, she closes it with her other hand holding the bottom down for balance and easily smashes her little fingers. Very painful! My daughter doesn't cry about much, but she definitely cried real tears when her little fingers got smashed! I saw another review about this same problem before purchasing, but didn't think much of it. It's happened more than once and 3 months later my daughter still plays with it, but definitely doesn't have the same interest as she originally did. Overall I think it's an adorable concept and it is entertaining...but would be even better if they would fix it so that babies can't close it themselves.

My 7 month old loves this toy. Can play for hours. The only thing they dont mention is that they can close their little fingers and hands in it. We tested it and it does hurt quite a bit when you push down on it. Which my daughter did within 5 mins of first playing with it, but has not done so since.

Laugh & Learn: Musical Learning Chair

Laugh & Learn: Musical Learning ChairMy 13 month old loves this chair. He plays with it on a daily basis. I would love to give it 5 stars across the board; however, I get a little worried when he plays with it. When he pulls up on the chair, it has turned over on him a few times. It's only if the pulls up on the part that has the lamp and book. It's sorta heavy on this side and him pulling up there makes it tumble. He hasn't gotten hurt, just a little frightened by falling backwards. Now when he goes near it, I always put my hand on the back of the chair to make sure it doesn't fall over. If they'd put a little more weight on the back of it, it would be more stable.

This was recalled because of the gap between chair and table. They say a child can choke or get their neck stuck. Once you get the recall piece it is just fine. My daugher had this since she was about 9 months and is now 2. From then until now she is still very interested. She says all the aminal names and noises. She likes to turn the clock. Very fun and also a nice chair to sit to watch cartoons or her shows. Very durable too.

Buy Laugh & Learn: Musical Learning Chair Now

I got this for my daughter for her first birthday. It did come with the repair piece for the recall. However, I am not sure how any child's head could get caught, unless they were younger than the recommended age of 12 months. The spot between the chair and table is large enough for an arm, but not for a head. My daughter likes to stand around it and play with everything. I'm sure she will decide to sit on it at some point. I have changed the batteries since I got it 1.5 months ago, but she uses it all day. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

I just have to start with how shocked I am at the price of this item. I mean SHOCKED. I own this, purchased from a yard sale for $5.00. Yep. $5.00. Brought it home, it looked as new as this picture does. Cleaned it for safety and set it down. My then 10 month old daughter went straight to it and sat on it. She started playing with it immediately. She has enjoyed in the several months since, very much. She finds it necessary to climb up in it, turn around and THEN sit down. But it hasn't flipped over yet. This is a great great toy if you can get for maybe $35.00 or less. I can't see paying $200.00 for this. It's great, but it isn't covered in gold. I can't believe this is the price. Still shocked.

Want Laugh & Learn: Musical Learning Chair Discount?

My twin girls received this from grandma for their first birthday. At first I thought it was cheesy and wasn't sure how much they'd like it since they get bored with a lot of their toys very quickly. They loved all the sounds and singing that come from it when they play with the little lamp, flip the pages of the book or sit in the chair. At first they didn't really sit in it but just stood on it or played standing next to it. After a week or two they started sitting in it and they would fight over who got to sit in the chair. They are 16 months old now and still like to sit in it and play with it or sit in it to watch TV. I would definitely purchase this again and recommend it since it was one of the few toys they would play with everyday.

Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Pound 'n Giggle Hammer

Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Pound 'n Giggle HammerBought this hammer for my grandson, but was not as much fun as one I previously bought for my grandaughter two years earlier. So tell fisher price to bring back the older hammer it was more fun. We have both hammers and he plays with the old one more than this one.

I bought this because my little girl likes to bang on things. I thought it would be fun for her to be able to make silly noises when she would pound with the hammer. However, the hammer only makes a noise on the first pound. To get it to make another noise you have to pound one of the other sides. So basically after the first pound, my little one lost interest because it didn't make anymore noise for her. I really wish I had purchased something else for her.

This hammer is pretty cute and simple. It makes sounds when you hit something and the face pops up. It also has a disc that spins and a clicker. The sounds aren't too annoying either and amuse babies. This is a pretty straight forward and fun toy for any baby.

Fisher-Price Go Baby Go! Press And Crawl Turtle

Fisher-Price Go Baby Go! Press And Crawl TurtleDS likes to grab the top of it and push it around on the floor as he crawls. If he pushes the "button" on the top while he's playing with it on carpet it won't move. The device that turns the wheels doesn't build-up enough power to move over basic, builders grade carpet. So, yes, he'll play with it and crawl around with it, but he can't chase something that isn't zooming away from him as intended.

I got this toy for my then 6 month old daughter. She didn't play with it at all when I first got it but then as she was learning to crawl I figured I would give it another try. Like some of the other reviews said the toy does not move well on carpet and the button is extremely difficult to push down. My daughter is now 10 months and still can not push the button down to make it move so I end up having to do it. I myself find it difficult to push and it does not go very far. My daughter does watch as it moves but loses interest after that.

My daughter likes to walk around after the turtle. It goes great on hardwoods, but not very far on the carpet. The button is pretty hard to push, so she smack at it, but we have to push it for her to get it to really go. She seems to love it though, it's always one of the first toys she grabs out of the toy chest.

Yellow Label Kids Plush Doll

Yellow Label Kids Plush Doll, DogOur 14 month old son loves this set. We almost returned it because it is so much smaller than his felt Land of Nod Fruit and Veggie sets (which are much larger than any other play food sets, and I'm pretty sure most play food sets are smaller than this set is, so I'd say its medium sized for play foods), but we decided to keep it and I'm so glad we did. Our son loves this set. It is the perfect size for his little hands and he has been carrying around the carrots and green beans for days. It is made of very sturdy canvas, and the cute bowl also doubles as an awesome toddler hat... says our son. :)
