Taggies Treasures Photo Cube

Taggies Treasures Photo CubeWe have this toy at the daycare I work at and I love it so much I bought two, one for my great niece and one for my granddaughter.

We sent this to our son while he was in an orphanage with photos of our family. It was larger than I had expected, but it's a great toy he still loves.

My little one loves this toy. She was immediately excited to see it Christmas morning (she was only 4 months old. We put pictures and her brothers into the picture sleeves. She loves looking at them. She also loves to bite the little taggies. A great toy that can grow with her. As she gets older we can change out the photos. Even put in some of her grandparents who live far away. As I think about it, we may need to get a couple more.

Galt Frog in a Box

Galt Frog in a BoxWe bought this for our son for his first birthday. As you can tell from the other reviews, little ones cannot operate the toy independently. Not only do they have to pull the hinged top all the way back for the frog to spring out, they have to push him all the way in the box until it clicks. A year later, ours is broken and the frog won't jump out at all. Wish we had our money back!

This Frog In The Box is a wonderful variation to an old toy. The frog comes completely out of the toy, is super soft and cute. I have 4 children ranging down from 7 and all of them enjoy playing with it. There is a platform inside that needs to be pushed down all the way in order for the frog to be set for another "pop" out of the box. This is easy to do and my youngest (18mos at the time) had no problem figuring out how to work it on her own. There has been no attempt by the children to put other things inside the box to see how they might fly across the room (not even by the boy) although Daddy has tried, I highly recommend this toy and think it is worth the money.

My 1yr old son got a lot of kicks out this one. Its good fund to play with, it kept him entertained.

My 22-month-old daughter's speech therapist has this toy and we love it (so does the therapist!). It is great for working on language(PUSH the inside down, PUT IN the frog, CLOSE the lid, wave BYE BYE, KNOCK on the top to see if the frog is there, PEEK inside, OUT comes the frog!). The frog really JUMPS out of the box a nice reinforcer for the child. This is probably a toy which is best played with an adult and child together, and is lots of fun.

Fun toy for my son to play with. Although he has figured out how to lift the lid just enough to remove the frog from the box so it doesn't always "jump out".

Whitney Brothers Birch Laminate Preschool Puppet Theater

Whitney Brothers Birch Laminate Preschool Puppet TheaterI was very happy with this little theater. It is low and wide, and the base is sturdy, unlike many that are tall and top heavy and forever tipping over. I also like the shelf inside to store puppets. Its the perfect size for a 3 year old to kneel behind or an older child to sit behind. Two kids could easily fit behind as well. It is well made, but does not fold, however it is not very deep and sotres out of the way against the wall in the playroom.

Star Wars Baby Bunting R2D2 Costume

Rubie's Costume Co Star Wars Baby Bunting R2D2 Costume, White, InfantI bought this costume for my very small three year old, thinking that a size 2-4 would be adequate. However, I could not get it over his head. Fortunately, his grandmother sews and could make the proper alterations. The length of the costume is fine, the sleeves are a little on the short side, and the hat fits him perfectly. If your child is on the small side this costume will probably work. Just be warned that the 2-4 label is closer to 2 than 4. It's super cute though if the sizing is right.

Fantastic costume for a toddler. Head space was WAY too small so I needed to cut it a little, but it's durable enough, and totally recognizable even in the soft material. All the teens thought he was adorable as well as all the geeky dads out here in Microsoft Land! :)

Adorable costume. Baby was 2 mos old on Halloween, and my concern was that it was indicated up to 9 mos of age. It is a bunting sack. It says hand wash only, and suggest you follow that. I washed before wear, but was not quite dry before we had to go out, so I put it in the dryer for 20 min (the collar takes forever to dry, has some stiffer material, perhaps cardboard?) I figured it would shrink, but since my baby is only about 10 lbs, did not make a difference. We did not put the hat in the dryer and that was still big. Would still have looked good if it did not shrink (don't think if would've been too big) Got a lot of great feedback when we were trick or treating (big brother was Luke and sister was Leia.) Overall very pleased, now plan to stuff it and give it to the kids as a pillow!

Great costume for our 18 month old. Little tight to get the head thru but she did keep it on all morning.

We wanted something cute for our son's first Halloween and we wanted something Star Wars themed since it is very popular in our household. What a disappointment. The head hold is way too small and the fit is just odd. The material is also very stiff and uncomfortable. We ended up not using it and had to buy something last minute instead. Too bad :(

Munchkin Twisty Teether Ball, Colors May Vary

Munchkin Twisty Teether Ball, Colors May VaryAs much as my 5mo loves this ball I can't give it any lower than a 5 star review even though there is room for improvement (as I will detail below). The ball has ten different "nubs" on it with different textures around them and my baby LOVES chomping on them. The nubs are each about the width of my thumb which is perfect for him as it is my thumb he would otherwise be chomping on (or his own fist). A drool bib is a good idea to have on babies at this stage as the gnawing on stuff tends to produce a LOT of slobber.

Please note the ball is SURFACE CLEAN ONLY! Because of the twisting apart (where it makes a ratcheting sound that baby likes and isn't too obnoxiously loud like some other toys, it is also a quiet rattle when shaken), water CAN get into it if immersed (doesn't seem to be letting too much drool in though). One reviewer claims that it smells terrible, I have a VERY sensitive nose and ours doesn't smell after about a month of constant use (it is baby's favorite inanimate object, so much so that we just purchased a 2nd one to have one for home and one for car/out & about). A commenter asked another reviewer and didn't get a response yes, it is made in China.

As for improvement, one annoying thing is that there is no way to secure it to prevent it from hitting the floor when baby drops it (which babies love to do even when they DO have coordination enough to hold onto something). I solved this personally by putting a small hair elastic around it(fits between the ratchety part and the nubs so it still twists), then using various things such as pacifier clips and link rings through that to secure it to baby carrier or high chair at a restaurant. Having a way to tether the thing with those linking rings would be a MAJOR improvement IMO and could be achieved by redoing the mold so that one (or two) of the nubs has a hole through it that a holder can go through. It could also be improved by having some gel inside to stay cold after being in the fridge could be cool to even just have that in SOME of the nubs instead of all of them as I bet babies would LOVE to compare the different temperatures in their mouths (and that also lets parents know if it's worth keeping it in the fridge, if baby doesn't seem to prefer the cold nubs over the regular ones). If there was a way to allow it to come apart so it COULD be immersed and washed thoroughly that would also be an improvement particularly for the more germphobic among us. I get around this myself by only immersing it half at a time and being careful not to get the center split into the water, surface-cleaning that part afterward, but I'd love to be able to like press-and-twist like a pill bottle to get it to open and be able to drop it into a dishwasher or at least a dishbin of soapy water. I wouldn't trade the ratcheting sound and such for that, though, as my son gets a lot of enjoyment from that. If that is particularly a big issue for you, it seems there are other one-piece products on the market that may suit you better.

Oh, and we call ours "the Nom Ball" (as in nom-nom-nom current parlance for the act of chewing on something). It's the for-nomin'-on in our house (say it fast, it's a very bad pun)

This teether looks better live, it's well designed and the colors are much brighter than what's shown in the picture. When you twist it, it makes a cool clicking sound. I know my baby would have loved this toy, but the reason I didn't give it to her was that the one I received had what appeared to be dried crusty glue around the seams that would not wash off no matter how hard I scrubbed. I can't possibly give this to my baby to put in her mouth. Too bad. The cost of this item doesn't justify paying postage to return it, so maybe I'll let my daughter play with it when she stops putting everything in her mouth.

Don't buy this toy. It smells toxic like a dead animal. I even tried to clean it with soap and water to no avail. I can't imagine giving this to my twin girls. I throw it in the trash where it belongs.

We received this one as a gift. Our daughter loved it but I was leery b/c of the bad plastic smell it had. It isn't listed as bpa-free so I decided it wasn't worth keeping and opted for safer options.

If your baby is in the stage of trying to crush your knuckles with his gums, this teether is the one for him. Easy for baby to hold. Not as easy for baby to smack you with as with other teethers. Not so big that baby smacks himself, either. I think baby will like this teether best.

Fisher-Price Discover 'n Grow Kick and Play Piano Gym

Fisher-Price Discover 'n Grow Kick and Play Piano GymMy wife and I purchased this play mat for our 3 month old daughter, Maggie, and she absolutely loves it. Previously, Maggie would need to be constantly held, but now she will happily spend over an hour or more kicking and playing on this gym. Also, her hand-eye coordination has improved dramatically. I have included a short video of her playing on this gym for the first time. Highly recommended!!

My 2.5 month old immediately loved this product from day 1, and can be entertained for 30 mins-1 hr at a time! For that reason alone, I should be giving it 5 stars; however, from the perspective of a parent who does not have room for zillions of toys at home, I'm only giving it 3 stars because I was hoping it would replace a standard activity gym but it doesn't. The mat is too small for baby to do anything except lay on her back and look up at the mirror and the dangling toys, which is fine for now but not when she becomes more active and starts to roll and move around. It's also not great for tummy time because there's not enough interesting details on the mat to promote tummy time activities. As baby grows longer, the mirror will no longer be positioned correctly for her to view herself and to still kick the piano keys with extended legs. Perhaps I am expecting more longevity out of this toy than I should be, but I do not want to pay 50 bucks for something that lasts a couple months. It is also annoying to put away or even move from room to room-it basically has to be disassembled because the arch/piano/mat do not connect well together.

Buy Fisher-Price Discover 'n Grow Kick and Play Piano Gym Now

Our baby loves to kick and move his legs, so after looking at dozens of play gyms, I wanted this one, but it wasn't out yet. We waited for it and are so glad we did. He LOVES it! The toys are great and varied, the mirror is a lot of fun for him, and the kick piano is genius. He is able to make his own music and it plays little songs (but not too long for Mom and Dad's ears) that keep him entertained. It also has lights on the piano. We also like the conversion to tummy time, which is not our son's favorite thing, but the toys and especially mirror help him stay on his belly just a little longer. I look forward to being able to flip the piano for when he is older and like that it will grow with him. For the same price as a lot of other play gyms (and less than some) you get all these features. We are very happy with our purchase. The battery life is really long, too, on AAs, which was a nice surprise for us. We've only changed them once in 3 months of daily use. I highly recommend it.

I will have to write a follow-up review once I've had this for a few months, but I just received it today and am so excited that I wanted to share with anyone that is considering this my thoughts on this product. I read a few reviews on this before I bought it, but I was sold just by looking at the pictures. My son is 2.5 months old and has been a mover for some time. He was very active in my belly too. He loves to kick and for the longest time I had a ball that rattles that I'd put at his feet in his bassinet and he'd kick it around for up to 30 minutes. I was looking for some toys that would be more interactive and this is just the thing for him. The mirror that hangs down is great. As soon as I put him on the mat (on his back) he was looking at himself and smiling. He is using both arms and playing with all of the dangling objects. He's kicking up a storm and cooing and having a grand old time. The 4 white piano keys are perfect size for his feet. It's durable and appears to be able to take the beating it needs to. It comes with AA batteries already in it (3) so no need to rush to the store to try this new toy out. The mat has four loops (2 on either side closer to the piano) for attaching toys. The beam has two positions in which it fits into the side part that holds it stationary. I haven't put him on his belly yet with this because he loves to kick so much but he's in the beginning phase of crawling and can hold his head up so I'm sure he'll like tummy time on this as well. The mirror will be just what he needs to keep him occupied while he learns to push up. I have nothing bad to say about this. If you have a little one that loves to kick, this is the best toy out there that I've found so far. If someone knows of one better than this, please comment. I'm always open to new suggestions!

Step2 Naturally Playful Lookout Treehouse

Step2 Naturally Playful Lookout TreehouseI found 40+ excellent reviews elsewhere on line and ordered this from another retailer who offered free shipping on it. We put it together in about 10 minutes and our 13 mo old was sliding on it immediately. It is for ages 18 mo+ and I think that is probably correct. We are using it in the house until it gets warmer and then will move it outside. We didn't assemble the periscope but saved the pieces for later. It is very well made and is attractive. I like that there is a platform before you get to the slide and that it can be a fort as well. The slide part disassembles easily for transport. It does require close supervision. We found we could back the ladder to the wall and take off the slide and then it is just a safe fort for when we don't have time to supervise. We're very happy with it.

My newly turned 1 son is the most athletic little guy of my 4 boys so even though we have lots of boy toys around the house, I needed something special for his first birthday. He wants so badly to keep up with the big boys! Having an October birthday, I was trying to opt for something he could play with indoors during the rainy/cold weather but that was also very active. Fortunately we have enough room for a small climbing structure like this and it is just perfect!

PROS:

-very easy to assemble

-fits inside without being to awkward we have it in a dining room and it could easily work in a space 1/2 the size

-the perfect size for a 1 year old (and my 13 month old niece loves it too!)

-durable enough to withstand big kids -my 5 year old twins are all over it as well and while it has a 60 pound weight limit, it is managing to hold up well for time when they sneak on it together

CONS:

-I can't really think of anything! I was worried about kids falling off but so far no problem even when one is coming up the slide and one up the ladder, they seem to work it out just and my niece is not as athletic and coordinated as my son but she does great with it as well. Only took a few days to get the hang of climbing up the ladder and how to slide down. Now they both climb the slide also!

I am looking forward to moving it outside in the summer also.

This is an excellent indoor slide if you are looking for something for your little ones to do in cold winter months. It is a small slide, takes up very little space, and the tree house is perfect for play. I bought it for my 18 month old son and he has had much fun using it. His friends of up to 7 years old have played on it and it has lasted many children's parties. I plan to move it outdoors in the Spring.

We bought this for our one year old granddaughter. She may be on the tall side but she already is too tall to stand on the top landing and it was supposed to be for 18 months to 3 years. Also the ladder is not designed well-nothing to hold on to as the child climbs up. The reviews were pretty good but I am dissapointed that she won't be able to play on it for very long.

We didn't get to really try this toy out for more than one afternoon, as my 34" tall 2 year old was entirely too big for it. She didn't even have to use the stairs to get in to it. She couldn't stand under the top and look through the periscope, and she didn't have enough room to turn around to use the slide to get down. I think a better age range would be 18 mo to 2 or 3 years. We returned it and ordered a slide for the yard instead.

Lamaze Eddie the Elephant Play and Grow

Lamaze Eddie the Elephant Play and GrowMy son has had this toy since he was 3 months and he is now 7 months and this is still his favorite! There is just to much to this toy. There are so many different colors and textures and sounds! His ears, trunk and the ends of his legs crinkle. He has a squeaker in his belly that always gets a laugh from my boy. One paw has a textured teether in the shape of a leaf and the other has 2 rings with different textures. There is a lots to touch and mouth. There is also a large clip at the top to make it easy to attach to car seats, bouncers, strollers, etc.

Pros:

Lots of textures

Crinkle paper

Teether

Rings

Hook to attach to things

Squeaker

Cons:

None that I have found

My son has loved this toy for 5 months now and I'm sure he will continue to love it for many more! I think it was plenty worth the $10 or $11 I spent on it! I would buy it again!

This guy, Eddie the Elephant is plush, chewable, resistant and goes everwhere! Baby loves Eddie. He definitely is a must have amongst all of the Lamaze Play and Grow toys! Guys like: Jacques the Peacock, Freddie the Firefly, Mortimer the Moose, Buzz the Bug and many others! Check him and the others out and enjoy! Tony

We gave this to my son for Christmas when he was 3 months. He wasn't interested right away, but started to be around 4 months as he could hold it better and move it around to feel and mouth different parts of the elephant. This is the toy I reach for now when he's bored. It seems to entertain him the longest with different textures to feel and things to grab.

My son loves this elephant. It was the first toy that he would reach out and try to grab. The crinkly ears and feet are the best parts of this toy. As he has gotten older, he likes to chew on the rings and leaves. For quite a while I would not leave the house without this toy, as it was the only thing he would entertain himself with. We also have the Lamaze Dragonfly, but my son did not become interested in that one until about 2 months after he was playing with the elephant. The only complaint I have is that the top of Eddie's head is becoming slightly sun-faded from all of his trips outside of the house. For the amount of love my son has given this toy and the hours he's been entertained by him, I give this toy a full 5 stars and a full recommendation!

HABA Big Optics Workshop

HABA Big Optics WorkshopThe blocks are a great and fun way for young kids to see the amazing optics effects. My personal favorates are the mirror block that shows upside down image (but you can also easily do this with a spoon),the spinning tops and the faceted block.

The color blending block are fun, but the plastic is so thick that the colors don't blend well the 3 colors are blue, pinky red and very orangy yellow, so when you put the blue and red together, you don't get purple, but a somewhat dirty pink, no orange or green for the same reason. The colors blend a bit if you put the block right infront of your eyes.

The prism alone is great, but not so good on the "Designed purpose" haba gives you some cards with left and right slightly different, and if you use the prism to cover the right, you see the left side as a whole image (from the card and through the prism). But you have to make sure the prism covers exactly the right side, or the bear will have 2 noses or no nose at all it's so difficult for little hands to master and even for adults, it's frustrating.

It has 10 or 11 items/sets and I will probably pay $30-40 max for this. I got this somewhere else when it was on sale within the price range. I will never pay 70 bucks for this.

My three year old son won't let me put this optics set away! Each peice has something unusual about it that catches his eye. The top comes with interchangeable disks that have a different optical illusion when spun. The cinema block animates a bird and a worm. The concave mirror makes things appear upside down or smaller and bigger. There are a couple of blocks that play tricks on your eyes, a durable kaleidoscope, a block that allows

A child to blend colors and look at the world through them. There is also a prism, a faceted lense block and some animal cards. The best thing about this set is that even though each peice is unique, a child can combine the peices in ways in which they can discover more unusual effects. Fun, fun, fun, even for mom and dad.

Manhattan Toy Skwish Classic

Manhattan Toy Skwish ClassicWe got one of these for our two-month old and she just loves it! You can't tell from the picture, but the black lines on the toy are STRETCHY! It's great for gripping and not too heavy (our two month old can hold it!)

It's worth every penny!!

We loved this toy. I was worried at first that it could be a choking hazard with the small beads and elastic string, but I figured Manhattan Toy is a respected company and they must have gone through rigorous testing first, right? However, last week my son was playing with this in the car and one of the wooden rods broke, causing the elastic to snap and a bead to fall off.

I wanted to give Manhattan Toy the benefit of the doubt maybe this is just a fluke somehow but they have failed to respond to both a call and an email. I am very disappointed, and do NOT recommend this toy for your baby. It just isn't safe.

The other reviewers are right when they say this is perfect for little hands to hold and little mouths to nibble. When my son was playing with it a few weeks ago he suddenly started crying his "I'm hurt" cry. I couldn't find anything wrong with him so I just chalked it up to teething pain. Well, it just happened again and to my horror I noticed a drop of blood on his bib. This toy somehow gave him a cut on his lip, poor thing. Maybe it got caught between the elastic bands or between a band and one of the balls. I now realize that it must have hurt him the first time, too. Twice is two times too many, so this toy is going in the trash. It's a shame because he really liked it, until it hurt him.

Read Best Reviews of Manhattan Toy Skwish Classic Here

I thought it would be helpful to have a review of this toy from the perspective of somebody with a long history with it. My daughter, who is now 14 years old, had one of these as a baby. She liked playing with it then, and it is one of the few toys she kept well into her childhood. At first, babies use it more for a rattle or a teether. Then when they're toddlers, they use it more as a ball (bounce it, throw it, roll it, catch it) or a stress-relief toy (squish it, smush it). In later toddler years, they start to contemplate the 3-D complexity more and enjoy trying to make it flex and pull into different shapes as they stretch the elastic with stronger muscles.

While I admit it may not be as "exciting" as all the flashy, battery-operated, ADHD-inducing noisemakers that are on the market now, I believe this toy has a huge intrinsic value for letting a child contemplate shape, 3-D depth perception, color, movement, and cause and effect. I can't prove this, but I also think this toy might subconsciously plant seeds in a child's mind to help them understand atomic and molecular structure in the future (I'll let you know after my 14-year-old gets her first report card in Chemistry in a couple of years!) I just think the Skwish is the toy-equivalent of playing classical music to your baby. Your child most likely will not sit down and play with it for hours at a time, but in the few minutes s/he does spend with it, you will see the little gears turning in her mind.

I'm thrilled to see that this toy is still around, because I want to get one for my new daughter (9 mos old)! What I cannot attest to is the CURRENT quality of these toys. 14 years ago, it was EXCELLENT. If they have cheapened it up over the years, then that might be a problem.

Want Manhattan Toy Skwish Classic Discount?

I bought this for my nephew that was coming to visit from Germany. He is 13 months old and loved it (since it is labeled for 0-12 months). It was perfect for the plane ride (9 hour ride) since it is light weight can be "skwished" with out breaking it, and it doesn't make much noise (it only makes noise when the wood pieces slide on the ropes and hit each other). This is the kind of toy that can be bought for a much younger (3 months or so)child and it will grow with them. I would absolutely recommend this toy for car rides, plane trips or just playing around the house.

Deluxe Baby Boat

Deluxe Baby BoatThe deluxe baby float that was mailed to me was not the one in this photo. It is a totally different float. This float is one complete piece with holes for your baby to put their legs into and the "back rest" is on top of the back of the float. Your child would have to be at least three years old to use the back rest. The float sent to me is a inner tube with holes for legs in the bottom not a seat in a float as shown in the photo.

As per the two other negative reviews, this float is NOT the one pictured. It is exactly what the other reviewers said, it does not have a separate seat (in the picture) which is what I specifically wanted. It is all one piece and looks nothing like the one pictured. I wish Amazon would get it together and not have such errors.

My son (age 10 months) loves this boat! We have used it both in a swimming pool and a lake. My favorite part is that it keeps him in the water to kick and splash, but keeps his face away enough from the water that he doesn't drink it! I like the reinforced seat, too! Seems like pretty good quality, not a cheap float.

Flamingo Toddler Costume

Flamingo Toddler Costume Size 18-24 monthsThe outside parts of the costume are soft and the design is good but the quality of the lining is pathetic. The feet have velcro for ankle straps and if any of the velcro touches the lining then the lining immediately begins to unravel. The same sorry lining is in the head piece and it too unravels and tears easily. It's like working with spider webbing it is so fragile. Thought maybe it was just this costume but I purchased another one from another seller and it was just as sorry as the first one. Also the head piece must be made for adults because even the 18-24 months size was way too big for my 2.5 yo. We ditched the head piece and shoes and just let her wear the body suit. So far that part has not fallen apart. Would not buy again and would not recommend it unless you are going to completely redesign or sew it up yourself.

This costume is super cute. However, the head is huge! My daughter wore it for school and for some reason you can't adjust the head to fit tighter and so I only had a chip clip to help. That didn't work so well so the head kept falling around her head as it stays in place by Velcro under the chin. Have no idea how anyone would have such an enormous head but that should be better made.

Angry Birds Plush 8-Inch Red Bird with SoundIt got all my friends excited, because if you love the game you will love the bird more when you see the cute little round bird is right in front of you!!!

Cool little bird and makes noises as you would hear from the game.

Has a genuine tag and isn't a cheaply made knock-off. Works great for the kids.

My mother got this toy for my daughter who really loves the Angry Birds game. She loves it! I gave it 3 stars on the educational question as this toy is not really for educational purposes, but pure fun.

I was lucky to get one of these Angry Birds during the Christmas season. While it was almost 100% more than what it originally goes for on the official site, I was content with the price and the speed in which it arrived.

The only thing keeping it from being 5 stars is the batteries are not replaceable. The sound box is sewn in, which is probably a good idea. Just not for me. All in all. I'd recommend this for any Angry Birds fan.

Infantino: Bendy Bug

Infantino: Bendy Bugthere is nothing wrong with this toy that it should receive poor reviews. dont put toys in sterilizers just wash in either a bleach mixture or hot soapy water regularly. my child loves his bendy bug!

Our baby LOVES this bendy bug! She screams for it if she can't find it! There is something about it's face that she loves.

I will say though that we bought this at a "high end" neighborhood toy store and only paid $4.99 for it! I couldn't believe it was $9.99 on here!

Just a note to the other reviewer! You should never heat ANY plastic to such a high degree, especially something a child is putting in their mouth! They release chemicals which are toxic! This includes dishwashers and microwaves!

The picture doesn't do this toy justice, it is really cute. Baby loves it, especially the little blue antennas. They are evidently quite satisfying to gum.

Lansinoh mOmma Teether, Fred the Penguin

Lansinoh mOmma Teether, Fred the PenguinBought this for my nephew, and can't wait until we can use it!

comes exactly as it looks and is a great baby shower gift!

This one, jack the seal, and her ducky, all the same shape are my baby's favorite teether toys. She got her first teeth pretty early at 4.5 months, but she was looking for things to bit down on from 3 months, and at 7 months, biting things is still how she interacts with most of the world.

Strangely, these sets of toys has always been her favorite. Because I was going on a long flight to Europe and Asia, I bought a suitcase full of toys for her to keep her occupied. She kept coming back to these. If given a choice, she would almost always choose these.

They are easy for even a 3 mo old to grab, and the penguin's hands are perfect for her small mouth to suck or bite on. I would freeze them and give them to her, and the plastic would keep them from getting her hands too cold. They are filled with water on the inside.

I ended up buying 5 of them so that I could rotate them in the freezer, keep in diaper bags, and give her a new one if I have to rinse what she dropped.

Product description states made in US. Packaging states made in China.

We bought this product since it stated that it was made in the USA. Upon finding that it was made in China we have concerns with letting our daughter put it in her mouth.

Nice to be BPA free and filled with water instead of gel, but still not worth the risk.

Edushape Cup-O-Fun Water Toy

Edushape Cup-O-Fun Water ToyWhat a great product! So many learning activities in one toy. The cups included are nesting cups that fit into each other, puzzle pieces fit together in a circle, the foam shapes float, my son builds with them, they stick to the tub and wall, and you can short the foam shapes into the puzzle pieces, and the nesting cups are turned upside down they also fit into the shapes in the puzzle pieces. It was exactly what I was looking for, something educational, easy to clean, won't be conducive to mold growth (like the water squirters). The foam disc is very sturdy and allows the everything placed on it to float. It was the change of pace we needed for bath time, it can be played with in many different ways.

My daughter absolutely loves playing with this toy. She is entertained but still learning at the same time. She is 16 months and finds it fun to stick the shapes to the side of the tub. It was a great purchase.

I love playing with this toy! That's important because 16 month old son doesn't have the hang of putting puzzles together or nesting or stacking yet, so I am the one doing those things in order for him to have the joy of demolishing my efforts. That could get tiresome, but fortunately I'm as entertained by the many different ways there are to play with this toy, in and out of the tub, as he is by watching the pieces go flying. I'm sure LO will eventually enjoy the finer aspects of the toy, but for now, it's a really good thing that all the pieces are sturdy and, so far, indestructible.

Green Sprouts Cornstarch Dumbbell Rattle and Cornstarch Hand Teether, 3 Months

green sprouts Cornstarch Dumbbell Rattle and Cornstarch Hand Teether, 3 Months, GirlThese were great with both of my kids. They are durable and the fact that they are made from cornstarch is pretty cool. Even after enduring countless gnawing through the teething stages the hand teether has held up well with no bite marks or chips.

Fisher-Price Little Superstar Little Jam Band

Fisher-Price Little Superstar Little Jam BandThis toy did not meet my expectations. I should have purchased real toy instruments instead. My child really doesn't play with it and it is very loud. They piano keys are all one button, not separate, which I thought was dissapointing as well. I would save your money and skip this purchase.

My son got this for his 1st birthday. While it didn't hold his attention long he really did like playing with it. I would say it is good for younger babies, probably 6 to 12 months old. It has some cute giggling sounds which I always found amusing. I think the horn is pretty useless but the other pieces are cute.

My daughter received this set as a gift from her grandmother when we went to visit. While I was setting us up in an upstairs room, she was in the pack-n-play with all of her new toys and a few familiar ones. She pushed the buttons on the piano over and over again and I heard the guitar a few times, too. What's up with the trumpet, though? Did they just give up or run out of time or money in the development? I see the piano and guitar pulled out of the box often, but the trumpet is always put away. She loves all things musical and I have a several toys on her wishlist for her birthday and Christmas that are musical. This set was a good, very basic starter.

We received these as a gift when my son was about 6 months old. They are the kinds of toys that are interesting for a short while until the novelty wears off.

The piano just has one big button and plays a rotation of piano playing, someone saying "doobee, doopity bop, yeah", and someone laughing while lights flash. It is easy for a baby to push the button but unfortunately it does not have an off switch. So when it is in a bin with other toys it will play all night long if the button is pressed by another toy. It was heavy for a small baby and now that my little one can easily carry it, he is not very interested in it.

The guitar is similar to the piano but it has a barrel that is turned instead of a button and plays a rotation of a guitar playing, someone saying "doobee, doopity bop, yeah", and someone laughing. It also has beads inside so it is a rattle. It is a bit more challenging to play than the piano.

The trumpet has a button on the front that when pressed pretty hard makes a squeaking noise and clicking noise when you press down on the buttons (where the buttons on a real trumpet would be). This one is hard for a baby to play. At 16 months my baby finally is able to make the clicking noise and sometimes can get it to squeak.

The little handles on each of them make them easy to pick up but they are a bit heavy for younger babies. They seem very sturdy and we have not had to replace the batteries in the time we have had them (almost a year), although they haven't really been played with all that much.

the piano is the best piece, the guitar is a bit hard for the baby to use and the horn is way too hard
