Gave this to my nephew for Christmas it's not huge, but a decent size and have a few fun accessories for imaginative playing. These are excellent. They are great for newborns. My kids are 2 and still enjoy pulling them apart and making long chains. Great for traveling too, especially in the car. One of my little ones has a weakness on one side and her therapist uses these to build strength as well.

My children and I volunteer at an equine therapy riding stable. We use the beads to help the children practice fine and gross motor skills.

Poppity Elephant

The poppity elephant an excellent toy. Since it wasn't in the first wave a peek-a-block toys, fisher price really seemed to put a lot of thought into it and make it great. My 13 month old loves it. The blocks can be incorporated many ways (which wasn't true of the giraffe and ark there was really only one intended way to use the blocks), the toy rolls, plays songs, and pops the blocks around. Plus, it plays several songs (and also has an off switch) so that you won't get sick of a certain song. Highly recommended!!!

I bought this toy for my one year old and he loves it. Just one problem which in my opinion is enough to suggest you not buy it; my son doesn't use the string. He grabbed the top of the toy to push it and the square in the middle, which pops up and down when you move it, caught his finger and he screamed at the top of his lungs. His finger was stuck. I had to pull it out.Maybe it was a one in a million chance but when he plays with it now(yes I still let him play with it because he really enjoys it) I am very cautious and watch where he puts his hands.

We received this as a first birthday present, and were happy to see that it went well with our daughter's two other Peek-a-Blocks presents. She enjoyed pulling the string and leading the elephant around the kitchen. She liked the elephant noises. I sang along with the music -it's one of those things where it can drive you nuts if you resist.

The reviewers who gave it a poor setting don't understand the toy. There are two volume settings, so the music doesn't have to be loud. Blocks can pop around in the "saddle" -it's meant to look like it's doing circus flips, and two of the blocks that come with the set work well with this. Other Peek-A-Blocks also can have fun flipping. The popper is NOT intended to toss it down the elephant's trunk. Toddlers can make the blocks slide down the trunk themselves.

Like the Peek-A-Block wagon, it's great for a phase. After less than a year, she moved on to other toys. The Peek-a-Blocks are sitting at Grandma and Grandpa's for occasional play.

My daughter likes this toy because of the fun, upbeat music it plays, and loves pushing the elephant around (she's not confident enough to walk on her own and pull it along). She also loves looking at the blocks.

*I* like the toy because it really encourages her to move around. She's pretty active as it is, but this toy really helps her direct her energy. My daughter has the peek-a-blocks giraffe, but she likes this elephant much better...there's just more going on here. In addition to playing with the elephant, my daughter enjoys it when we sit together and talk about what's inside the blocks. I think these are great products for encouraging interaction with your baby.

Baltic Amber Teething Necklace for Baby Boys

I was sceptical of this product. I am sceptical of most homeopathic remedies, so I wanted my review to be fair and accurate. Now that my boy has his first tooth, I can say that he drools considerably less with his necklace. Because drooling is often linked to pain and inflammation, I assume that means he is more comfortable. It didn't start helping for a couple of days, and we didn't get pharmaceutical results, but if I was looking for pharmaceutical results, I would have turned to chemistry. I would definitely recommend this product. That being said, all babies are different, and it will work better for some than others. In that case, it's a cute accessory at a good price!

VTech - Discovery Nursery Farm

Before I start my review, I noticed that the latest version of this toy apparently differs slightly visually than the one pictured here on Amazon. My guess is that there may be two versions of this toy out, or that the one I purchased is the most recent incarnation. My review is for this current version as of March 2006. In short, this is an EXCELLENT toy for a developing infant, because it provides a good panoply of learning sound effects and songs to go along with blinking lights, and a functional keyboard to learn new music skills on. As the advertising for this toy states, the 'Discovery Nursery Farm' has many developmental benefit functions, such as developing motor skills, visual awareness, language development, and imaginative play thru realistic animal sounds and nursery rhymes that infants love to hear. And even though our infant is only 7 months old (the box it came in says it is for infants "9+ months"), she LOVES this toy, as is evidenced by her many smiles, giggles, 'razzing', and overall attention she pays to it. And we have thankfully had no issues with fingers getting stuck, or other safety issues. Perhaps the newer version has effectively addressed this previous safety issue that some reviewers brought up here. In addition, ergonomically, this is a GREAT toy for an infant who loves to spend a lot of time on his/her tummy. The toy is on their level physically, and they can play with it easily while lying down as well as sitting up, with all the buttons and keys well within their reach. And on the lighter subject of the singer being a wee bit 'off key', and having a strange voice (as some reviewers have mentioned), this is really a 'non-issue'. In fact, his interesting voice sounds kind of appropriately goofy and perfectly fit for a fun child's toy. Then again, compared to hearing the English language butchered and 'raped' so many times ever since moving to the state of Ohio 10 years ago, his voice is excellent! GREAT JOB 'VTech'!!!

My 11 moth old son has gotten his fingers stuck twice in the swinging pig. This toy is a real danger to infants. Please DO NOT take it upon yourself to determine whether this toy is dangerous. Believe these reviews! This really happens. My son's fingers were wedged under the pig and it took myself and my husband to free his fingers without inflicting more pain. This toy belongs in the trash and deserves no stars.

My 10 month old son got his finger caught in the swinging pig door on 3 occasions. The final straw was when it took two of us to free his finger from the toy and left him with a black and blue finger the next day. This toy is dangerous. I called the VTECH 800 number to complain/warn them about the poor design of the toy. I dealt with a slow, inept customer service person who told me he would file my complaint and asked ME to call back in a few days to see if any managers replied to my complaint!!! He never even asked me what or how it happened!! Poor customer service, dangerous toys, and a high price for a toy that will hopefully end up in the trash before it breaks some poor kids finger. My rating for this toy and VTECH customer service is 0 stars.

I bought this toy because my then 12-month old son got very interested in it in the store. I kept it in its box (you can use it while it's still in the box), so that I could return it if he lost his interest within a couple of days. That never happened. In fact, it remained in its box in my car for several months, and I would prop it up on something next to my son's carseat, and it kept him entertained for long stretches of time. When he started losing interest, I put the toy away, but now it's back, this time in our living room, and my now 19-month old son loves playing with it. Sometimes when I'm busy in the kitchen and he feels that he needs to be there as well, I just tell him to go press the piggy's nose, which he happily does and starts dancing to the music. His fingers never got stuck in the toy. The toy has been dropped and thrown many times, including once onto a concrete floor, and it still works. In all this time I only had to change batteries twice. I can see how it can annoy an adult, but a toddler can usually find lots of other ways to make annoying noises, and you just learn to filter them out and not pay much attention to them.

My 11 and 23 month old kept getting thier fingers stuck under the swinging pig door. The space is large enough to fit a small finger under and it's not easy to get out! I let it slide the first time it happened to my 11 month old, but when it happened to my 23 month old and continued happening, I put it away. Each of them would panic and scream bloody murder because they couldn't remove their fingers! How much fun is that?? Also, the person who sings is REALLY annoying and off key. Not a very good design.

This is an adorable toy for an infant/toddler, however, when I purchased this item at Christmas time as a gift for my granddaughter, I thought that I was buying the CRIB TOY version of the Hungry Pelican!!! So, needless to say, I was surprised upon its arrival and the small size of it. It was the STROLLER version. The description did not say, so I assumed that it was the crib toy, which is larger. I should have asked questions, but time was so close to the dead line that I just went ahead and ordered.

I am certain that she just loves it though!!! It is very cute...and still can be hung on the crib.

My 2 year old has a few of these Toy Story dolls including Woody, Jessie, Buzz, and Bullseye. She absolutely loves these toys I must say, and carries them around with her everywhere we go. I love the size of these dolls, as they are big enough to act out play or ride on Bullseye, and small enough to tuck under her arm and tote around. The detailing is done nicely, the name ANDY is even sewn onto the bottom of their feet just like in the movie. There are no hard plastic parts, even on the face if that is an issue for you. As their shirts are white they do tend to collect a little dirt after some time, so I usually either handwash them with a clean dish brush or tie up in a pillow case so it doesnt get ruined and put on gentle cycle in the washing machine. Overall I would recommend this doll or any of the others to any Toy Story fan.

My 3 and 1/2 month loves this but can't squeeze it yet to make the sounds so we have to. The sounds are cute but like any children's toy gets old fast. This can take him out of a hissy fit though so it's worth it. Only downside is no replacable batterys and can't wash it. If you've got a drooling, teething baby it's worth buying but only as a toy to hold over them and touch them with.

My Grand daughter seems to love it. The sweet little noises it makes and the fact that it's easy for her to hold makes it better.

Baby Einstein Baby Neptune Rattle And Teethe

I normally rave about Baby Einstein products but this teether is not one of my favorites. Our 5 month old is starting to teethe and we bought a variety of products for her to gnaw on. This teether is just way too big and cumbersome for a baby to fit in their mouth. She can only really get a tiny bit of the edge in and she just works way to hard to bite it. Plus it is a really big item for a baby to try and hold. She is always hitting herself in the face with it trying to put it in her mouth and the plastic is super hard and big. I would recommend Sophie the Giraffe or the Razbaby teether. She also loves the Learning curves floating teether.

the teether rattle is very cute and apealing in its colors. Looks like it will be a really good teether. I purchased several to put in a gift box for Christmas, at which time he will be 4 months old. Delivery was quick which is important since it is for Christmas.

I had one similar to this one but ended up throwing it away because it had small screws in the back of the turtle and the hat piece was not tightly fitted to the teether. Just check all the parts before giving it to your baby I wasn't comfortable with the small screws in the back of the turtle part.

I have a hard time considering this a teether when its hard as any plastic could be. Completely frustrating for a child who just wants relief. Everything but the blue water filled section is like this. And the round shape is not practical for an infant or young child (tried it with both ages). Its doesn't fit in a small mouth. Maybe the front two teeth if they're lucky.

My son received this for his first birthday, and we love it! The castle has so many interesting features: a door that opens and closes, a bug and little man that slide along ropes, trees that rustle, a chicken that hides in a pocket, mirrored windows, and one see-through window. The princess and knight will be great for pretend play as my son gets older, and he thinks the dragon is great! He makes a unique rattling noise when shaken, and his head and tail wobble back and forth. My son would have enjoyed this toy earlier than 12 months, and I know it will be played with throughout his toddler years. A fantastic toy for creative play.

***Update: Now my son is almost 3 and we play with this castle frequently. The dragon often chases the princess and knight into their castle; however, when he is feeling nice, the dragon offers them rides on his back. This is a wonderful toy for pretending! My son is developing a fascination with things that verge on "scary" (dragons, ghosts, wolves, dinosaurs), and this toy allows him to create pretend scenarios that explore a slightly darker theme with such happy little characters so appropriate and not-too-scary for a young preschooler.

My kids love this toy! I have a baby and a toddler, and this was intended as a gift for the baby, who's nearly 8 months old. Turns out, the 3-year-old loves it too. Lots of imaginative play going on here, fun possibilities for storytelling and more. Plus, squeaky/crinkly/shiny stuff to entertain the baby. Very nice product.

We bought this as a gift for my niece on her first birthday. She was interested in it right away. Lamaze Peekaboo Baby Toy

This is a cute toy, but I'm a bit disappointed in the "interactiveness" of it. Granted, it is called a "clutch cube" because that's about all you can do with it --clutch it. I had mistakenly thought this was a cube that I saw on line made by Zolo toys. The Zolo toy cube has "lift up tabs" on EVERY FACE of the cube with interactive things, such a streamers, squeakers, pull things, mirrors, etc.... You should NOT get this toy if you are looking for an interactive toy. Instead, get the one by Zolo Toys. I thought every face of this cube had a "hidden thing" underneath, but it's only one side -the mirror side. If you notice, that's the side that is advertised in the picture. Don't let it fool you -that's just about it with the flaps. If your kid loves to "clutch things" then this is a good cube... but if your kid loves to actually interact with a toy, then this is not the toy for you.

This is by far my daughter's favorite toy. She's been playing with it since about the age of two months. She would just look at it and smile but now at 9 months, she still loves it and manipulates it in every way. The hook is great for hanging it on play gyms, strollers, or car seats. The "handles" on the corners are perfect for tiny hands to grasp. The two little rings on the handles make a pleasant soft clanking sound and make great teethers. The panda face makes the crinkly sound and if you lift it up there is a mirror underneathe for playing peek a boo. There is also a green apple scent on the underside of the panda face. I have heard other reviewers say it stinks, but I think it is pleasant and not too strong. It still has the scent after all this time. There is also a monkey face and some different patterns on the other sides of the cube. There is a satin like fabric and a flannel feeling fabric on some of the sides. So many different colors and textures to keep baby entertained for a long time. There is also a bell that rattles when you shake the cube or turn it.

Our daughter's favorite is the crinkly green-apple smelling panda face. This is the one toy we ALWAYS have when we are on the go. She will play with it in the car, it entertains her at restaraunts while we eat and is great fun at home too. It's roughly 6" cubed, so it can be a little big, but can still be crammed into the diaper bag.

Highly recommended!

This is an excellent toy. My daughter has enjoyed it since she was 3 weeks old and still plays with it at 4 months. When she was younger, we hung it above her in a baby gym activity mat. She loved to swing at it. When she started to grab at things, she enjoyed gripping onto the soft handles and the hard handles with different textures. Now, she is starting to sit up and can play with the toy for around 20 minutes without getting bored. Her favorite side is the panda face with crinkly noises. We also lay her on a Boppy for tummy time and put this cube in front of her. She loves it. This is a great toy that an infant can enjoy for many months.

This toy is another hit with my daughter. She loves looking and playing with it and reaches for it often. I like to "help" her with the mirror part, so it is a great toy for the two of us to play together with. Also, it doesn't mention it in the description, but it has a nice apple-y smell!

Lamaze makes a very high quality soft toy. Like the others my grandson has been given, the Clutch Cube Baby Toy is very well made. The seams are securely sewn. The different fabrics offer differing tactile experiences to stimulate baby's sense of touch. The bright colors are visually stimulating. The hard rings are wonderful for gumming when baby's teeth are coming in. The hidden panel which opens to reveal a mirror provides the element of surprise to entertain baby.

My only criticism is that this cube is rather large and is hard for younger infants to handle. I question whether older infants who are large enough to handle this toy will find it interesting. For a six month old who is very interested, this toy is just too large to handle and Grandma ends up manipulating it to entertain baby.

Edushape Cup-O-Fun Water Toy

What a great product! So many learning activities in one toy. The cups included are nesting cups that fit into each other, puzzle pieces fit together in a circle, the foam shapes float, my son builds with them, they stick to the tub and wall, and you can short the foam shapes into the puzzle pieces, and the nesting cups are turned upside down they also fit into the shapes in the puzzle pieces. It was exactly what I was looking for, something educational, easy to clean, won't be conducive to mold growth (like the water squirters). The foam disc is very sturdy and allows the everything placed on it to float. It was the change of pace we needed for bath time, it can be played with in many different ways.

My daughter absolutely loves playing with this toy. She is entertained but still learning at the same time. She is 16 months and finds it fun to stick the shapes to the side of the tub. It was a great purchase.

I love playing with this toy! That's important because 16 month old son doesn't have the hang of putting puzzles together or nesting or stacking yet, so I am the one doing those things in order for him to have the joy of demolishing my efforts. That could get tiresome, but fortunately I'm as entertained by the many different ways there are to play with this toy, in and out of the tub, as he is by watching the pieces go flying. I'm sure LO will eventually enjoy the finer aspects of the toy, but for now, it's a really good thing that all the pieces are sturdy and, so far, indestructible.

Natural Wood Hedgehog Baby Rattle - Non-toxic and Safe for Baby

I purchased this because it was on a list of top or best toys for baby and I liked the idea of it being natural wood. I was disappointed. As another reviewer mentioned this rattle is too big for baby to get in her mouth. I understand that it's not a teether but a rattle yet we all know that babies put everything in their mouth. It frustrated my daughter that she couldn't get it in her mouth, so eventually she just ended up ignoring it. She never showed any interest in it as a rattle and the sound it makes isn't anything unusual or exciting. Nor is it colorful or eye-catching. It remains one of those toys at the bottom of the pile that are untouched. Maybe if it was designed a little thinner to fit the mouth it would be better. Despite the natural wood, I have to give this a thumbs down.

Fast forward 2 months, after my original review of this rattle. I pick up the rattle and discover with horror that my daughter has chewed on it and there are big splinters sticking out all over it. I do not exaggerate. I took pictures of it right then and there to send to the company and complain but like so many other tasks on a new mother's to-do list it never rose to that priority section of the list where things actually get completed. So I return to my original review to warn people. Please do not buy this rattle. It is dangerous and it is scary to think what would have happened the next time she chewed on this rattle and got a sharp splinter stuck in her mouth.

Note that in my new-edited review I was unable to change the original stars assigned to it. That is why durability has 5 stars. If I could change it-all categories would have 1 star.

This is a RATTLE not a Teether..so with regards to the other reviewer who had a problem with it not fitting into the babies mouth; it's not supposed to fit in the babies mouth. It's a wonderful rattle that my baby loves to play with and shake to hear the noise. It's natural wood and non-toxic, which is fabulous, as so many toys theses days are toxic and harmful!! I highly recommend this rattle!!

This thing doesn't even rattle. The disks stick together and to the dowel in the middle, so they barely move when the toy is shaken. It also arrived with a weird smell (smelled like varnish although I assume that's not what it was since it's supposed to be all natural). It's not very smooth wood (there are little splinters sticking out). I also agree that the thickness is a problem since it makes it hard to grasp in a small hand.

Too thick to be comfortable for baby's hold, too rough to be pleasant for mouthing. Besides, the finish (or whatever it is) seems to either be applied in a very sloppy way or peeling off. Overall, not a good toy at all.

Little Tikes Tap A Tune Drum

This is a great toy. It's well made and durable. The whole thing is plastic. The top and bottom is a flexible plastic that makes a great drum sound. It's the same on the top and bottom if its flipped over. The sticks are attached by rope that is long enough to play the drum with but short enough that it can't get tangled around the child's neck.

My son loves toys that make music. Its educational, entertaining and takes nothing but an imagination to use.

Highly recommend.

This is a well made toy; not very exciting but durable. My toddler grandkids, ages 1 & 3, get some enjoyment out of beating it but they both seem to prefer something that lights up. Nevertheless, I think every little one needs something to pound on to improve coordination, to have simple fun, and to make some noise. I feel very good about this toy and so does their Mom.

I love the thought of my son falling in love with music and he has but their is a few things about this I didn't like. I doesn't sound like a drum! The drum sticks are attached to the drum for safety reasons which I understand but it is hard to play with them because they are attached too close. The top of the drum is a thick hard plastic which does not sound good at all. This Christmas I bought the B. barum pa pum pum drum and other instruments. I love it! I suggest going with a different drum!

My kids have this, and it is the best drum for the age group that I have seen so far. The attached cords on the drum sticks make it less of a hassle for me because I'm not always hunting them down. A previous reviewer said they were too short, but I don't have that problem at all. I can even play it with no issues.

Natural wood seems to be a better teething toy than plastic. The stacking pieces can be used as teething toys along with the play value of the entire toy.

My daughter loves to take the squares off for now. The quality is really nice, it was worth the money. I bought the circle and triangle ones to mix and match and also to teach her shapes.

I was thrilled to be ordering a toy made in the USA. That is a rare find for sure. Its beautiful wood and incredibly soft to the touch. My older kids ( 10 and 12 ) have enjoyed showing their baby sister how to stack the sections. And the baby loves chewing on the wood sections. Which won't splinter, naturally.

I had been eyeing this toy for months and finally decided to buy it for my 10 months old. When I received it the stem that holds the squares on was loose.... very loose. I have thought about returning it but I just don't have time to be running around to the post office with 3 kids. My husband is a woodworker and says he can fix it. It is beautiful and the wood is gorgeous but the quality is lousy.

Bunnies by the Bay Wee Plush, Skipit

This plush was not exactly the same one sent. Ours came with longer curly fur all over it's body. The fur on it's ears in the picture is essentially what covers the entire dog. It is very fluffy and cute and we love it though.

Hello Kitty BabySnuggle Lovey

This is a definite must have snuggle blankie for any Hello Kitty baby out there. I bought one with a cute pink owl from Target when my little girl was a newborn and it was "ok." But then I saw this and just had to get it! It's REALLY great quality. It's thick and the stitching is perfect. I've gone over it and there really are no flaws at all with the lining or stitching of the fabric. And the ruffles are silky soft and my little girl loves biting on them. The rest of the blanket is soft and warm and perfect for when she snuggles at night. And the Hello Kitty head gets her excited and makes her laugh.

Fun tip I figured out (and probably not a big deal cause I'm sure others figured this out way before me) but if you pick it up by the head, and then drop it, it will land in the exact position you see pictured. My little girl gets a kick of it. She watches me pick it up making little noises as it goes up and up, and then when I drop it, it parachutes open and plops fully open with the Hello Kitty head looking up at her. My daughter will laugh and giggle sometimes for 5-10 minutes of playing this game! And when she sleeps she often cuddles this blanket as she turns to her side and snuggles her face right up to it. It's really worth every penny and I would have paid even more for it just to see how happy she is with it. She doesn't even play with the owl one anymore. She will bite on it once and a while when she is teething, but she doesn't play with it or snuggle it anymore, LOL :)
