I thought this would be super fun for my toddler and preschooler, but they never play with it at all. Also, it's really difficult to see anything happening inside (watch the beads fall, or see the plastic layers they fall through...) because the outer plastic is faceted and ghosted and hard to see through. So you can't even watch what's making the noise. Not really a good toy.

The balls don't even move down with enough force to spin the fan or the other objects. It's not like a kladioscope at all. Not worth it.

I don't understand all negative reviews by the other people on here. Our 2mo old son loves this thing. It's the only thing that will calm him done most of the time. I don't think he cares much about being able to see it as the sound it makes. This thing isn't really intended for any child over...maybe...6-ish months so why would you buy it for a two year old?? If you have a newborn, this thing is great. Don't give it a bad review because you bought it for an older child than it was intented for.

My daughter thinks this is the coolest thing..but it is much bigger than what I thought..which is my fault for not reading close enough. This little monkey is very cute but also very loud and attention-seeking (you know the type of toy; he keeps calling for more play time if he feels neglected for even a moment ha). There is an "off" button but no volume control. If I were rating him as a mom, I would deduct a star for these reasons but as I'm reviewing him on behalf of my 2.5 year old, I'll leave him with his 5 stars as she loves his songs, the ease with which she can change his outfits, his catchy songs, etc. He is great for reinforcing colors, refining motor control, modeling good manners ("please," "thank you!") and following instructions. His red hat has to go on a certain way to stick (side-ways, sort of -my husband had to show us), but that's no deal breaker. A bonus is that his shoes are connected, so there's no way to lose one (it's all or nothing!). If your baby likes this, she (or he) might like the Minnie Mouse kit I think by Fisher Price? where you can dress Minnie by clicking in her (slightly more pliable) plastic dresses, hats, and shoes (which are also one piece). This monkey is a great alternative if you're looking for a more gender neutral (and louder?) option and to be honest, the monkey has been more engaging for my toddler because of the music. We've only had him for two days so I'll update if this changes but she's truly been very excited by this little guy and sits playing with him for long stretches of time (i.e., more than 15 min!). We bought him for twelve bucks and change, so might be worth waiting for a sale although I do think there might be a limited window where he'll be interesting to a toddler (and at 2.5 years old, I think my daughter will probably outgrow him within the next month or two).

I bought this monkey for my 18 month old for christmas, he has not gotten a chance to play with it but his dad and I have!! It is very fun and teaches alot. Daily life skills, colors and more. It also sings songs according to what he has on. For example he will say put on my yellow pajamas and once it is put on he will say thank you and then sing a song about pajamas and say goodnight. This is hands down one of the best fun and learning toys my son will have this christmas!!

This toy is LOUD. It's so loud that nothing else about it matters.

Sure, the clothes go on and off and maybe it says cute things, but when it's on, all you'll know about it is how LOUD it is.

No, there's no volume control. I might resort to putting glue in the slots over the speaker, but it might damage the speaker. Since the toy is unusable as it is, that doesn't worry me so much. Right now, it's packed away while I decide how (and if) I can make it softer. I fear for my (and my child's) hearing.

It's sad and terrible because the idea for this toy is so cute. VTech, please include a QUIET mode. And, really, this volume is damagingly LOUD, too loud for even a "loud" mode.

As soon as I saw this toy on Amazon.com, I knew I had to buy it for my daughter, even though she is much younger than the recommended age (she was 6 months at the time). Now, at 1 year old, she simply loves it, even though I still sometimes need to help her 'dress' the monkey. It is a very unique and sturdy toy, as cute as it can be, and I am sure she will use it for a long time and that it will still be in pristine shape for her siblings.

I have one complaint though: I would love to be able to buy extra pieces of clothing for it. 8 pieces is fair enough for a start, but I quickly started to wish that there were more pairs of shoes, glasses, a cap, etc. Not only because it would be more fun for the child, but also because when the monkey says it needs its green shoes to go out, I am not sure if my baby puts whatever pair of shoes she finds on, or if she actually would make a difference between a green pair and a red one. And since this toy aims at teaching the name of pieces of clothing, why not do a more complete job at it and bring extras to the table?

A suggestion for VTech: I am not usually a fan of 'girly toys', as in general I prefer unisex toys. But for this one, I am sure girls would love a girly version of the toy, because they would be able to understand when it is appropriate to wear a dress and when a more casual outfit is best. And actually, a girl monkey would have the advantage to be able to wear a dress or a skirt as well as shorts, which would give baby the opportunity to learn about clothing for both sexes.

Step2 Naturally Playful Lookout Treehouse

I found 40+ excellent reviews elsewhere on line and ordered this from another retailer who offered free shipping on it. We put it together in about 10 minutes and our 13 mo old was sliding on it immediately. It is for ages 18 mo+ and I think that is probably correct. We are using it in the house until it gets warmer and then will move it outside. We didn't assemble the periscope but saved the pieces for later. It is very well made and is attractive. I like that there is a platform before you get to the slide and that it can be a fort as well. The slide part disassembles easily for transport. It does require close supervision. We found we could back the ladder to the wall and take off the slide and then it is just a safe fort for when we don't have time to supervise. We're very happy with it.

My newly turned 1 son is the most athletic little guy of my 4 boys so even though we have lots of boy toys around the house, I needed something special for his first birthday. He wants so badly to keep up with the big boys! Having an October birthday, I was trying to opt for something he could play with indoors during the rainy/cold weather but that was also very active. Fortunately we have enough room for a small climbing structure like this and it is just perfect!

PROS:

-very easy to assemble

-fits inside without being to awkward we have it in a dining room and it could easily work in a space 1/2 the size

-the perfect size for a 1 year old (and my 13 month old niece loves it too!)

-durable enough to withstand big kids -my 5 year old twins are all over it as well and while it has a 60 pound weight limit, it is managing to hold up well for time when they sneak on it together

CONS:

-I can't really think of anything! I was worried about kids falling off but so far no problem even when one is coming up the slide and one up the ladder, they seem to work it out just and my niece is not as athletic and coordinated as my son but she does great with it as well. Only took a few days to get the hang of climbing up the ladder and how to slide down. Now they both climb the slide also!

I am looking forward to moving it outside in the summer also.

This is an excellent indoor slide if you are looking for something for your little ones to do in cold winter months. It is a small slide, takes up very little space, and the tree house is perfect for play. I bought it for my 18 month old son and he has had much fun using it. We bought this for our one year old granddaughter. She may be on the tall side but she already is too tall to stand on the top landing and it was supposed to be for 18 months to 3 years. Also the ladder is not designed well-nothing to hold on to as the child climbs up. The reviews were pretty good but I am dissapointed that she won't be able to play on it for very long.

We didn't get to really try this toy out for more than one afternoon, as my 34" tall 2 year old was entirely too big for it. She didn't even have to use the stairs to get in to it. She couldn't stand under the top and look through the periscope, and she didn't have enough room to turn around to use the slide to get down. I think a better age range would be 18 mo to 2 or 3 years. We returned it and ordered a slide for the yard instead.

This toy is recommended for 10mo and up, however it includes a bunch of small parts. When I first got the toy for my 10mo old son, I was so excited the toy is colorful, has a number of different shapes and textures for little hands to explore. I pulled on all the small pieces hard to make sure that they were attached well, and nothing came off, I also tied the pull string around itself several times to shorten it and I though I was good I was so WRONG! The very next day, while my son was at my mom's the little bell came off!!! Thank god my mom saw it in time to snatch it away from the baby the bell is the perfect size for a kid to choke on! I exepected something more than what we got. yeah it's neat to have the toys fit within each other... that is a big plus for me when you have to pick up after two kids, however, i anticipated a little better quality. the plastic seems flimsy and i'm a little worried that it will break apart in his mouth... he's teething and everything goes in the mouth. the baseball on the inside has lousy sound and we have to find a new battery for it... one of those ridiculous watch batteries. not unhappy but not happy either.

This toy was a gift from my father for my son's first birthday. I know that he bought it at a discount store and did not pay the $20 that it is currently listed for on here. I personally feel that this toy should reach a price high of only $10. When my son first received this present, he was not good at taking it apart or putting it together for that matter, it was handed to me constantly to help him with it. The baseball can be quite a weapon when thrown across the room.

I love baseball so I was not quite as annoyed with the baseball noises. However, when the battery died on it, it didn't get replaced. It just was not worth it to me. As my son got older, he would take the balls apart and put them together, telling me it was a ball. When he received this as a gift, I didn't think it would be as big of a hit as it has become in my house.

My advise is if you find this toy at under $10, it is a good toy. I don't know about it still being that interesting after two years old. My son would much rather play with cars, trains, dinos, and his other balls.

I was so psyched to get these for my one year old. We have other Boon brand toys that are really fun and creative. I love the colors of these creatures, but that's it. I am SO disappointed in them. They don't fit together and are basically just cups with holes that aren't fun. They advertise them that you'll switch them around but that's not possible. The pieces match up but do not stay together, making them very frustrating to play withfor me and for my kid. Skip this item for sure.

The Boon products are so cute and well designed usually, but these creatures don't snap together, so they tend to fall off the bases. They're not even very easy to put together. These toys are very cute, but other than that, they've been a big disappointment. The tops and bottoms don't stick together, which pretty much makes these useless. Lucky for Boon, my kids figured out that they make pretty decent pouring toys (since some of the tops have different hole configurations). Otherwise, I would have given these one star instead of two.

I really love the design of Boon's products but this one definitely missed the mark. I wanted the cups to snap together and they don't. So you can kind of set them up on the edge of the bathtub and if NO ONE touches them then they stay together but that's not much fun. So like the others said they are basically just cups with holes. Either you love it find it okay or hate it completely, I'm sorry to say that I received mine a little damaged and opened by customs they probably bent it a bit and as a result It doesn't stay on properly, but I bent it just a bit back to its normal size it doesn't fit like it should but that's my version sadly. Magnetic Poetry Kids' Chinese Kit

This set of magnets is useful for anyone first learning to read Chinese, including adults. It includes just over 140 magnets, with a few key words ("I", "to be", "you", etc.) duplicated a few times. Several key Chinese particles and category words ("le", "de", "ge", etc.) are included, so you can compose actual grammatical Chinese sentences. The characters are aesthetically pleasing. This is a quality product with thought behind it.

My set included an envelope with two corrected tiles (the originals had incorrect pinyin).

I agree with the other reviewers that it would be much better to have the pinyin (Roman alphabet Chinese) on the reverse with the English: not only does it make the tiles less useful for character memorization, but also the refrigerator calligraphy you make with the tiles isn't as pretty.

A little bit of Chinese knowledge is helpful for enjoying these tiles, but they're entirely suitable for anyone who has had their first few lessons of Chinese.

I had initially gone looking for this for myself, but ended up buying it for my nieces first. They love it. They watch enough Ni Hao Kai-Lan to appreciate Chinese, plus they know my interest. They are barely school-age, but these magnets are great because they're relatively simple in vocabulary, yet enough to stoke their curiosity.

I purchased my own set, as well. I wasn't thrilled about having the Pinyin (pronunciation guide) printed above the characters, but the magnets are soft enough that you can cut them off with scissors fairly easily. (Though I know Chinese well, I find that I stop reading the character and start reading the Pinyin words).

My only regret is that they don't have expansion sets. Overall, this is a great product.

My son learned his letter sounds with letters on the refrigerator. My son learned to put together letters to make words with the letters on the refrigerator. And now, for the past 15 months, my son has been in Chinese Immersion school...it only makes since that has another reinforcement activity on the refrigerator!

I don't know a thing about Chinese, but I do know that my son is doing an awesome job reviewing the Chinese characters on the refrigerator like he did when he was a toddler. He also loves to leave messages for me and tries to get me to learn to read it as well.

Perhaps it was just good timing, but I am thrilled to have the pinyin on the same side as the character. The past 14 months of his instruction focused on the character. His class just began working on pinyin this month! I am very happy that he is able to put the character together with the pinyin!

I am also thrilled with the price! Most Chinese reinforcement content that I have come across is pretty spendy....but these are comparable to the amount that I was spending on the English letters/words gadgets that also went on the refrigerator!

Though this kit is classified as a toy, it may not work for very young (under 10 or 12) children because the magnetic squares are small. I use mine on the refrigerator door, but you can also use them on the metal box lid or any other magnetic surface. For kids, a metal easel would be a really good accessory. The tiles are the same material as magnetic business cards -maybe not quite as sturdy because of their smaller size. They are black on white and large enough to read easily (though not from a distance), but they only have the Pinyin word and the character on the side that faces out. The corresponding English word is in white on dark grey on the side that one sticks to the metal surface. There are duplicate tiles for frequently used words. They are definitely meant for active learning, not just as visual reminders of past learning. For a children's toy, I wish they were a little larger and more colorful, perhaps a different color for each part of speech. The kit is best suited to older children and adults who are actively engaged in fairly formal study of the Chinese language or who already speak it. Then they could be used for word scrabble games to make sentences with the available tiles.

Munchkin Snail Stacker Bath Toy

I bought this bath toy for my daughter for christmas just before she turned one. I got it because it looked cute, but now that we have it, I've realized it is a really great learning toy. She loves to stack the rings back onto the post on the snail's back, and is starting to learn that they need to go on in order of largest to smallest so that they all fit. What a great learning toy for the bath! The rings do different things as well one is a shaker, one has little wheels in it that spin when water goes through it, and the other has little counting beads on one end. Packed full of learning!

My daughter liked it the first time we let her play with it in the tub. After that, she seems disinterested. So, it doesn't hold her attention. Also, not super sturdy floating in the water.

Bounce & Giggle - Pig

My husband got this for our son for Christmas and it is still one of his favorite toys. He has learned to "bite" the pigs nose to turn it on. This toy being across the room has encouraged him to crawl more. He gets very excited about the toy and knows it by the sound.

He has played with it in his highchair several times and loves to drop it to the floor and it's still going great as should any baby toy.

It's one of the best toys we have bought in a while

My daughter received this pig as a gift when she was a couple months old and both she and I have enjoyed the cute song and noises it makes and the shaking action is also fun. The batteries lasted for over a year. The downsides of this toy are that it is heavy, so you need to be careful about throwing or dropping it, and the button that you push on the nose to make it work really has to be done by an adult most kids cannot push hard enough.

We bought this 'Grace' and the 'Sierra' doll for our 1 year old. I am happy with both purchases. Love the price. The decoration on one of Sierra's shoes has already come off (have had dolls 4 weeks maybe) and don't know where it is to glue back on. But, the dolls have tons of charm. Love the diversity and our caucasian girl loves multi-cultural friends.

Our son is medically complex so we gave Grace a trach and a g-tube (easy to place around neck and in tummy) so I would recommend that idea to anyone who wants further diversification!!

As you can see from the title, I ordered tutus. The quality of the tutus that I ordered from Sydney so Sweet was excellent. Both the green and the red tutus were in the vibrant colors that I had hoped for. The craftmanship was excellent. I sew upon occasion and could not have done a better job had I tried. After the original package went amiss somehow, I was contacted by the company right away. We both tried to find out what happened to the original package to no avail. After we concluded that this would remain a mystery, my order was received the very next day. Additional items were included as a way of insuring that I was compensated for any inconvenience. I greatly appreciate both the concern and service that I received and will order from this company again in the future.

I was not expecting much based on the price. Was really surprised it is soft and fluffy and my daughter wore it for her school holiday colors party. My daughter loves tutus i will buy from these guys again. Good tutu great price.

Gund Baby Snuffles 7" Pink Plush

I own several Gund 'Snuffles' but they were purchased in the 1980s. The item is not made the same way today. It's very similar but not as thick as it used to be and the small one, 7", is a little larger than my original Baby Snuffles. Also, the eyes are thread, not beads. It's a gift for my baby granddaughter, so she won't know the difference, nor will anyone who did not have this product in the 1980s, but I noticed it right away. All that being said, this brand bear has the best, sweetest expression, in my opinion, and that has not changed.

my daughter is 2 and loves to play likes shes on the phone. I came across this and thought it might be fun for her to play with. It will ring when the sensors on the back are both touched rather with water or with hand. None of the buttons do anything... it just rings when sensors touched. Not really what I expected. She likes to hear beeps or noise of some sort when she pushes the buttons.

Wanted a toy for the bath that made noises which is why I choose to purchase this simple toy. Battery died after only a few weeks of use. Waterproofing is compromised once the back is opened to replace. Would not recommend purchasing. Was just on ok item.

This is a simple little bath toy that makes noise when it hits the water. Unfortunatly, you have to be very careful to remove it from the water and dry it off when done with a bath because some metal on the back corrodes. My son isn't rough on toys and it stopped "ringing" after about 15 baths. BUT, he liked it a lot while it worked.

No need to say more.... Great toy.... Nice sounds, lot of color and movement for babies... Movement is similar to sand in an hourglass

Sound is fun, but it is fatter than i thought it would be so hard for little hands to manage. Not sure age that it would be right for. Too big for a baby and 2 yr old and 4 yr old didn't find it interesting to add to their band.
