Buy Gund My First Birthday Playset Now
Sent this as a gift and they liked it but the bear did not work. Can't exchange it for another due to the amazon exchange policy that says it will only exchange if it is because of their packaging error. Too bad. Wish it played Happy Birthday as that was the whole point. The picture is bigger than the item really is very miss leading. It's cute but very very tiny. The Items are very small in side the cake.Love that this toy has a photo window for personalization. The "Happy Birthday" musical teddy bear is so sweet and the squeaking camera was a big hit with our daughter, too. Recommend for a 1 year old birthday gift. Too cute!Saturday, August 16, 2014

After searching around for a cute monkey that didn't have a human-esque face, I found this gem. It's nice and floppy, like a cuddly stuffed animal should be and when he pulled it out of his stocking his 1-yr old face lit up and he smashed into it in a massive hug.Perfect.

Step2 WaterWheel Activity Play Table
The water wheel is great fun, and the children love scooping water into its reserve to make it spin. The two levels of the table give the children individual play space if two children are playing. Now that winter is approaching, I look forward to adding sand instead of water to the table. I appreciate the easy-to-open plugs built into the basin, as it makes it easy to remove water (or sand). The toy, though sturdy, is also lightweight enough for an adult to pick up and simply pour water out, if desired. Children cannot, however, easily move or turn the table over.I recently purchased the water wheel table after looking at just about every kind available. Although I originally wanted a sand/water combo, I'm glad that I went with the water-only version. My 21-month-old is not known for sticking with one activity for very long, but she seems to love this toy.
Though we haven't had the table for long, I am very glad I didn't spend more on the larger combo tables.
Here are the pros:
~ Extremely easy to assemble. Absolutely no tools required and assembly, from box to completion, took less than 5 minutes.
~ Very light-weight and compact. The table is easy for an adult to lift (without the water) but it is still sturdy enough for a toddler. While this table is more compact than many on the market, it will accomodate 2-3 toddlers quite easily.
~ Less messy than combo tables. No sand to mix for a muddy mess.
~ Comes with water wheel, cup and two sail boats.
Here are the Cons:
~ Mine does not appear to have a plug. No leaks this way, but a bit harder to drain. However it is small enough that an adult can easily tip it over for cleaning.
~ No cover. This is my only real complaint. If a cover had been included, this would be ideal. However, the compact size makes it easy to drain and fill, so the lack of cover isn't really a big deal.
~ The water wheel is not attached and can be knocked over pretty easily. Not a big deal, but something to note.
~ The toys are just okay. I'll be adding more.
Overall, I found the water wheel table to be a good value, particularly if you want a more compact water table that is easy to assemble, move and store.

I've always been a big fan of Step 2 products so when I was in the market for a water table this was a no-brainer purchase for my 1 year old (the 5 and 7 year old also enjoy it to some degree). While a water table in general is a lot of fun for any child I was really disappointed with the quality of this product (hence the unusually low price). I would rather pay more and get a quality plastic then this piece. The plastic is not the sturdy, durable plastic I'm accustomed to by this brand, but rather the flimsy, will crack if you drop it, plastic. Upon assembling the tower a part chipped off. Which meant the tower wouldn't hold together and that part was useless. I called Step 2 had to hold for 15 minutes to get through to anyone. Told them the tower was broken and I needed the 2 piece part sent to me. They were great and said they would only I only received one half of the tower. So that part is still useless. I'm too frustrated with the whole thing to bother calling again. I would hesitate to purchase Step 2 again in the future until I know the plastic is more durable. God-forbid someone chooses to put some weight on this thing I don't think it could support more than a few pounds without breaking a leg off. Save your money and by a Rubbermaid or Sterilite tote and fill it with a few inches of water and some rubber duckies.Read Best Reviews of Step2 WaterWheel Activity Play Table Here
My daughter has always really liked the water, so we got her this table to play with on the patio. She loves it! She's still learning to stand and move around @ 8 mo. and the table is sturdy enough for her to pull up on and hang on to for balance (supervised of course). She really likes watching the water wheel go around and splashing away! The drain does leak a little, but it's not a big deal. When we're done playing with the water, it gets dried off and brought inside as an additional play table. We stick toys in it and she walks around the edges playing with the toys in the middle.
Great value for the money. I had looked at a bunch of the other reviews on combo sand and water tables and saw good advice to keep sand and the water as separate activities to avoide a big mess. We'll get her a sand box when she's older, since she's still too young to have sand it would just get eaten.I own a family daycare geared towards infants and toddlers and my toddlers LOVE this water table. It keeps them busy for long periods and is just their size. Just be careful they don't try to climb in it when the water is not in it because it is very tippy!

Dwink Juice Box Holder - Purple
Buy Dwink Juice Box Holder - Purple Now
This item works as it should. I use it for the Mots for Tots little square juice boxes for my toddler and it works great. You just have to remember to put the juice box into the holder before opening it, otherwise pushing the box into the holder makes the juice box leak. These drink boxes are a must have for toddlers. Otherwise, my daughter just squeezes the box and gets juice everywhere. All drink sizes, even Caprisuns, fit in this one. Buy several so you can keep one in your diaper bag.I have always liked these juice box holders so that the kids don't squeeze the juice out but this one only works with the tall juices, not short ones.Saturday, May 3, 2014

Tiny Love Activity Ball
This Tiny Love Activity Ball has all the elements for stimulating language--lots to talk about concerning, color, texture, sounds and activity. Parents can describe the bright colors, patterns of stripes and polka dots, plenty of textures such as soft, hard, bumpy, and smooth and sounds that accompany movement whether rocking or yanking on his head and feet. Remember to follow your child's focus of attention and describe what she thinks is interesting, not you! If she is chewing on the antennae or playing peek-a-boo with the ladybug, that is what you want to be talking about. Research shows that children take in more language when we are talking about what they are interested in. Isn't that true of us adults too?I love Tiny Love products.
But this item is totally a disappointment.
The tap feature does not work.
There's a seperate small cheap Chinese device in the middle of the product. I've plugged it out and tried to figure out how it works. But in order to make it work you have to hit it hard (I mean very hard). And It does not work when you put that device into the toy.
In order to make it operate, you have to bang it very hard to the ground..

My daughter loves this toy now at 6 months and I can see it growing to be even more fun for her in the next few months since she hasn't even tried to pull the head out of the ball. It features a magnetic hand that she loves to pull away from the lady bug over and over. She also likes to play with the attached rattle and there is a crinkle flower she enjoys as well. This is the best toy i ever bought for my daughter, she 6 and half months old now. And this toy fascinates her, with sounds and mobile parts. this little ball like doll makes her coo and giggle all the time. There are some things that would interest a baby such as rings to slide, a crinkle flower, and a magnetic hand. The ball also has a cute face that vibrates when you pull it out. It does have some flaws unfortunately. The ball is supposed to make sounds, but it only does so when it is thrown or hit very hard. It isn't very sensitive to touch I guess. The head is also very hard to pull out.Tuesday, April 8, 2014

This was purchased as a gift for a friend of mine who has a mixed baby. The skin tone is a nice tan color which seemed to fit her daughter's skin tone much better than a full black or full white doll would have.It has a little weight to it and she is so soft! Perfect size for a 12 month old!

My kids love this doll and her sister. They play with them daily it's been about a week. They had two big animals they played with and now these are their favorite. I think the small size helps because they can carry it around the house easily. The only difference I noticed is that the dolls twist does stick upward now downward. It's still a cute doll. This doll was purchased for my one-year-old daughter who really enjoys dolls and plush toys. I chose Yasmin because I wanted a non-caucasian doll for her and I wanted a doll that was completely soft because of my daughter's age. In my local department store, only caucasian plastic dolls are available. I am very pleased with Yasmin. She looks just like the picture. Her dress fits a bit oddly at the top, but that is not a deal breaker for me. My daughter enjoys hugging the doll and toting it around with her. We would like to purchase all of the dolls in the collection.Saturday, February 22, 2014

Smart Trike DX 3-In-1 Kids Tricycle
One more thing is the safety belt, the three point safety belt is far from being safe, it keeps falling from my sons shoulders no matter what setting I put it in or how much I tighten it. Nowadays, anything less then a five point harness and a Harness Clip like this one will not hold any child in place.
UPDATE (Nov 23rd 2011): My son is 1 year and three months old and has out grown the seat belt that's in it's maximal setting... Too bad :-(
The parking brake lever, that's located on the rear axle, is longer then the radius of the wheels so when you go up or down the stairs, it touches the stairs before the left wheel when going up or gust after the wheel when going down. It keeps getting bumped and I have no doubt it will break sooner rather then later.
after your child grows and you plan to take out the plastic part holding the legs of the 6 months baby, you should know that the front wheel is not protected and your baby's legs are not long enough to reach the foot pegs yet, so the legs are in the air, and it's only a matter of time till one of his legs gets clinched between the front fork and the wheel. To avoid that I usually lean on the handle to tilt the trike back so the front wheel is in the air and doesn't spin.
The sunshade is very small and positioned too high so it doesn't do much in shading my child, it's more for looks then it is for sun protection.
It doesn't fold quickly like you would expect from a toy this big that gets to go with you, it needs to be taken into three pieces and then to be put back together.
Bottom line, my son loves the thing and the concept of this product is great but it requires some serious re engineering.

So what's so smart about the Smart Trike Deluxe Tricycle? This unique 3 in 1 multi-featured tricycle is designed for quality and functionality for a baby 10 months and up. It changes and grows with your child making it the perfect first tricycle choice.I should start by saying I was sent one of these to review by the company. The twins and I loved it so much after using it a couple times that I immediately ordered a second Smart Trike Deluxe from Amazon.com. Putting the bikes together was simple and painless. The directions are well done and easy to follow.
The smart trike deluxe can be configured in 3 different configurations which correspond to 3 different approximate development phases of your child.
The first configuration is for the 10+ month child. In this set-up it has a wrap around seat, complete with back support, keeping baby in place. It also includes safety straps, a telescopic, parent push handle, and a sun hood to limit exposure. In other words, it's a bit like riding in a bike themed stroller for your little one. Pushing them with the parent handle is a breeze, it controls the actual steering of the bike as opposed to just pushing and muscling the thing along like most bikes.
The picture of my twins above on the Smart Trike Deluxe shows the second configuration, which is aimed at the 15+ month child. Gone is the safety bar, back support, and sun hood. However, in this phase the bike still utilizes the parent push telescopic handle, safety buckles, a cup holder, telephone toy, back tipping bin, and a storage bag. I can lower the handle if my twins want to pedal and steer on their own for a touch, but raise it back up to push them home when they tire. Love it!
The 3rd phase allows for the eventual removal all together of the parent push and steer handle. My twins aren't ready for that stage yet at 21 months but it's so nice to know our bike allows for that when we get there.
Wow! Tricycles have come a long way since I was little. In fact, they've come a long way since my 15 year old was little. Where was this thing when I was hunched over pushing him or dragging his bike home next to me while I carried him?
The overall make-up of the bike is top quality. It has double injection rubber wheels and full metal construction. It was of no surprise to me that the Smart Trike was a "Right Start Best Toy" Award" winner. The deluxe is just one of the models made by the Smart Trike company.
You can find further details and photos on my blog andtwinsmake5.com.

Our grand-daughter loved this trike!!! Her folks had to put it another room to get her to eat, play with other toys, etc. If she saw the trike, she would cry until they put her on it. They used it instead of a stroller at the local mall and it worked great.Want Smart Trike DX 3-In-1 Kids Tricycle Discount?
We bought this trike after testing it out in the store. The one in the store seemed to work just fine so we bought it from Amazon.Assembly was easy and it came with the tools you need.
Went for a walk for the fist time and the trike was all over the sidewalk. The extension handel is very sloppy and our you need to turn it about 30 degrees for any sort of movement to the front wheel.
After that we're constantly trying to get it to go straight and stay straight. It is very difficult to just walk and enjoy the walk. In larger open areas it isn't as bad but if you are walking next to someone, you're probably going to put them into the bushes as least once on your walk.
So far the trike has about 5mi on it. The wheels are plastic with some sort of hard rubber or something for tread and they are holding up find so far.
The sun shade on the trike doesn't line up with anything else so overall, the trike just looks like a piece of junk.
Save yourself the headache and buy something with a little better quality.

This is a favorite toy! It's small enough that it's always in the diaper bag and my daughter loves it! It has enough parts to keep her occupied, makes some noise when she shakes it and the bright colors are great too. Would definitely buy as a gift for someone. My 5 month old loves this rattle! The oval part spins which makes my daughter giggle. It's so cute. I ofter place my daughter on a play mat for tummy time and place this rattle near her. The handle is perfect for her little hand. Little Tikes Discover Sounds Kitchen
Buy Little Tikes Discover Sounds Kitchen Now
We got this kitchen when our daughter was 6 months old. She is now 17 months. For the past five months she has ignored this or tossed it on it's side. She has to stoop down to play with it, it doesn't do much at all, and like other reviewers the oven door doesn't stay closed and the green door takes an act of god to open. We are shopping for toddler kitchen sets. Not worth the space it takes up (which is not that much so that should say it all!)Read Best Reviews of Little Tikes Discover Sounds Kitchen Here
I don't know if I received a different version but this toy was incredibly disappointing. My son is 15 months and could not get the green door open for anything! The "sounds" are barely audible and the light show is pretty much nonexistent. I can't even get the toy to stay upright! I am definitely sending this back. There has to be something better out there.Want Little Tikes Discover Sounds Kitchen Discount?
I looked at this kitchen and the Fisher Price one. The reviews of the FP one talked a lot about pinched fingers, so I went with the Little Tykes verison. It's a cute little kitchen, and I love that it came right out of the box pre-assembled. My 9 month old enjoys pushing the food through the special slots on the refrigerator door, and pushing the pan on the stove and hearing it sizzle. It would have been nice if it came with some more foodsomething for the oven and something for the cupboard. But overall a cute little kitchen for little cooks. We keep it against a wall and it rarely falls over.
