Tupperware Shape O Ball Toy
Buy Tupperware Shape O Ball Toy Now
I chose this shape sorter because of the retro factor... it's just like the ones I remember from when I was young. Others I've seen don't have as many shapes as this one (my son now knows 'trapezoid'!) and it is self-contained, durable and very portable. It's also multi-purpose... besides being used as a shape sorter toy, my son: rolls it around as a ball, shakes it up so the shapes rattle around inside, and we trace the shape pieces with a crayon to learn how to draw shapes. One of his favorite toys!Read Best Reviews of Tupperware Shape O Ball Toy Here
The Tupperware shape sorter is the best baby sorting toy out there. We live abroad now, but I picked up 4 of them to bring back to Europe. The reasons, why our kids loved it so much: 1.) Form and function are above all other similar sorting toys. It is just a very well made toy 2.) It is plastic and easy to lift and clean (A lot of parents would prefer wood. But often, the wood sorters are simply too heavy and bulky to be handled by little toddler hands) 3.) It is formed like a facetted ball. That makes it easy for baby to turn it around themselves. 4.)The cut out holes and the shapes are very precise. Only *1* shape fits into *1* correct hole. Many other shape sorters even more expensive ones allow for wiggling wrong forms into wrong holes 5.) It is a mental challenge because some of the shapes are really hard to discern like trapeze, pentagon, hexagon 6.) For parents: It is no "loose pieces nuisance" like so many other toys because: when baby is finished playing, all pieces are automatically back inside. So there are hardly any pieces ever lost 7.) Keeps baby busy for about 10 minutes
For ages 9 months and up.
I recommend it!

I think my daughter got this toy for her first birthday. At first I only let her play with it while I could help her, because she'd get frustrated or bored. I would put the shapes halfway into the slot and help her push them in. Then I would put the shape into the correct position in her hand and show her the slot to put it in. Eventually, I would let her pick the shapes she wanted to put in, and position the ball for her to put the shapes in the slots. She's 23 months old, and can put all the shapes in herself, quickly and easily, and she can name about half of them as well. She's also figured out how to open the ball for herself and empty the shapes, so she can play independently. She's now teaching her little (6-month-old) brother how to play with the toy (he just likes to chew and drool on the shapes right now). This is a durable toy, and totally worth the extra cost.
There are just some toys every child should grow up with (oldies but goodies), and this is one of them!

The toy looks very cheaply made but my 2 year old loves it! It says Fisher-Price but I've never seen such poor quality come from them. It's been thrown around for a few days and is still intact, I was rather shocked. I would have thought it would have fallen apart by now. If you can, go get one from toysrus, it's about 1/2 the price. It's a nice size for little hands. The toy is small. For the money, one might assume it is more substantially sized, but it is stocking stuffer/Easter basket small. Bot is about 3in tall, and Umicar is no more than 4-5in long. In that respect, it is very overpriced--more appropriate around the $6-7 price point. However, it delighted our two year old, as Bot is his favorite. He carries his little Bot around, and vrooms him in Umicar. So, in that respect, it's a good toy. If your little one passionately loves Umizoomi, and you can bite your lip on the pricing, it's a good purchase.Thursday, June 12, 2014

I order online a lot and really rely on reviews. I was unable to find a review for this product but ordered it anyway. I am glad I did. It is the great quality that I expect from Wonderworld. Both wooden pieces open or can be completely detached. My 20-month-old daughter really likes this toy. She not only uses it to sort the shapes but also as a pot for her fruit and veggie blocks. Hope this helps.

Fisher-Price Little People Zoo Talkers Animal Sounds Zoo
Animal Realism: This definitely goes to the Zoo Talkers. While they both look cute, the Learning Zoo animals look far more "cartoony" than those for the Zoo Talkers.
Sound Quality: In my opinion, this is close. I think the Zoo Talkers has slightly richer, better sound, but they are both decent for a child's toy.
Box Accuracy: Tie. The box for the Learning Zoo shows a nice, translucent blue for the waterfall yet actually came as a far cheaper looking solid light blue; the box for the Zoo Talkers shows a zookeeper, polar bear, lion, and monkey yet comes with a gorilla instead of a monkey (which is mentioned on the back of the box, but this is very easily overlooked when purchasing online). They also curiously sell the gorilla separately (hence how we ended up with 2), yet don't even currently offer a monkey.
Expandability: Zoo Talkers wins here, but only because the Learning Zoo already comes with a full compliment of 26 animals. The Zoo Talkers currently allows you to expand the set with the Safari Truck and lion cub, penguin, seal, alligator, bear, dolphin, tiger, rhino, ostrich, elephant, gorilla, orangutan, flamingo, hippo, as well as zebra/leopard/whale bundled each with a book. Naturally this also adds to the cost of the product though.
Price: The Zoo Talkers wins in initial cost, but I doubt many children would be content with only the 4 figures that come with it. Once you factor in the cost of additional animals, the Learning Zoo becomes pretty competitive.
Educational Value: Definitely the Learning Zoo. The Zoo Talkers only does (at this time at least) the name and sound of a few animals, while the Learning Zoo does the name of the animal, the sound, and the first letter of the name for all 26 animals included (one for each letter of the alphabet). In addition, the Learning Zoo also has a button that quizzes on the various animals and sounds.
Quality: Zoo Talkers wins here. Once assembled, it is nice and sturdy with an "ice arch" that doubles as a handle to easily transport the play set. The Learning Zoo has the speaker/main play section attach to the mat, but the other parts are merely attached by clipping them by means of the fence only. This fence is easily disconnected and younger children will require an adult to reattach the parts for them, and any attempt by a child to move the play set will necessitate the reattachment. I wish the Learning Zoo was also more of a "one-piece" construction.
Quality Control: In our case the Learning Zoo wins here. All functions of the Learning Zoo worked upon arrival, whereas one animal for the Zoo Talkers arrived visibly defective and consequently didn't work.
Function: Tie. With the Learning Zoo, if the mat is not completely flat (as is to be expected to happen if used on carpet) an incorrect sound/name may be given when pushing a button. I have found this happens fairly often forcing me to carefully try and spread the mat out. In time the crease from shipping should decrease which may help with this. With the Zoo Talkers the animal has to be pushed down fairly straight in order to get the sound to work which may be difficult for younger hands. I've also had the base give an incorrect response several times (will make the wrong sound or give the wrong name) which I would assume happens if the animal isn't pushed on quite right (I've even had it make the lion cub sound/name and we don't even own that). ***Edit 11/29/11 Now that my son has had this for a few weeks my initial impression of the Learning Zoo was correct in that the mat has indeed flattened so that it now rarely gives an incorrect response when one of the buttons is pushed. My son (he just turned 2) still gets a surprisingly number of incorrect responses when using the Zoo Talkers when he doesn't push the animal down correctly. It is hard to subtract a star for this as I cannot duplicate the errors so it is something that no doubt will not continue once he gets coordinated enough to put the animals on a little better. It is disappointing though as this set is meant for his age range and I find it hard to believe that other toddlers don't suffer the same issues (and shouldn't something have been done about this during quality control testing prior to manufacturing?) Consequently, I now think that the Learning Zoo pulls ahead in this category.***
Fun Factor: For my son this is definitely the Zoo Talkers at the moment. He loves pushing the various animals down the slide, tipping the one platform causing various animals to land on the slide, putting the animals on the platform to hear the sounds, etc. The Zoo Talkers has a good mix of activities to entertain, whereas the Learning Zoo obviously focuses more on the educational aspect which I decided to rate separately.
Overall they are both great products in their own way and I don't regret that my son has both of them as they excel in different ways. I do find the choice of "sounds" that Fisher Price made for some of the animals rather curious though (only the alligator is currently available for the Zoo Talkers so the rest only applies to the Learning Zoo). I can understand using the sound of splashing water for the x-ray fish, but I (incorrectly) assumed that the animal sounds would all be vocalized sounds rather than clopping hooves (for the zebra), and chomping/eating (for the alligator, camel, koala, and giraffe). I am also disappointed that the lion and the tiger sound the same in the Learning Zoo, although they are different for the Zoo Talkers. I have two little girls, a 7 1/2yr old and a 1 1/2yr old. My older daughter was the first grandchild on both sides and received many gifts as a baby/toddler. I think we owned every Little People toy out at the time. One of her favorites was the Fisher Price A to Z learning zoo, she loved all the different animals and it really helped her learn her letters as well. I was really disappointed when I saw it was discontinued and that this replacement only came with a few animals instead of the 26 that came with the other.
My disappointment ended though when I opened this up. It's extremely cute and filled with fun options (slide, swing, etc), it's a really nice size (my toddler likes to pick up smaller toys and drop/throw them this is big enough that she doesn't try) it also has a built in handle which I like to quickly move it when vacuuming etc.
My only issue with it is that it only comes with a few animals and while you can buy more animals if you check they are currently selling for 1/4 of the price of this set EACH. I hope that the price comes down on the extra animals or they are offered more affordably as a set together. The good news is your little one likely won't know or car either way if they don't have all the extra animals, as I type this my toddler is giving megablocks rides down the slide .
Buy Fisher-Price Little People Zoo Talkers Animal Sounds Zoo Now
My grandson loves his Fisher-Price Little People A to Z Learning Zoo Playset. That set comes with 26 animals and, in addition to "saying" the animal's name and making its sound, that toy gives the letter with which a particular animal's name begins. Naturally, when I saw this Little People Zoo Talkers Animal Sounds Zoo, I immediately thought of his coming birthday and how much he would enjoy this toy.Like other Fisher-Price products, the Zoo Talkers Animal Sounds Zoo is colorful and well-made. The plastic seams are smooth and pose little chance that a child will be scratched or cut themselves while playing. The animals are cute depictions of the real thing. The jungle environment/scene provides numerous opportunities for imaginative play; I particularly liked this feature. On the downside, the fact that the animals only make sounds adds little to the educational value of this product. Additionally, since little ones are likely to become enamoured of the one animal sound you find most annoying, you may live to regret your purchase!
I found the cost to purchase the add-ons which would "complete" this toy offputting. If one goes to the Fisher-Price website, the 8 figures and the three figure/book combinations offered total $43.99, including shipping. Tax is also charged. The Safari Truck, which Amazon offers, is more expensive at the Fisher-Price site since they charge shipping and tax.
This may appeal to the lower end of and to less mature children at the upper end of the recommended age range. However, I felt it had less educational value than the Learning Zoo and was less appealing overall. Further, the additional monies to "complete" the set and not something I feel is welcomed by parents and grandparents. It is for these reasons that I gave this product only four stars.

If you buy this toy, just be aware that there will be no monkey at the zoo. The picture on the box shows a monkey swinging from a tree but it will not be inside your box. This was unfortunate for me because I wanted it as a Christmas present for my monkey-loving 18 month old granddaughter. Good thing I read other reviews and found out about this little snafu before Christmas morning!Fisher Price substituted a gorilla in its place. I wrote to the company and their response was that Yes, there is no monkey.
The company sells single, 'additional' animals to add to your zoo, since it only comes with three. Among these extra animals you can purchase is a gorilla. Why are they selling gorillas separately when one already comes with the zoo?
It is all very confusing and I have an ethical issue with the company's willingness to deceive buyers. I am busy looking for another play zoo that really does come with a monkey.

This set is first off much bigger than I expected from the box, but then not too big its obnoxious. It is about two feet by two feet and has a nice carrying handle to take it room to room or easily turn it around to play with it on the flip side. Once I opened the box I was worried it was going to be a project to put together but it pretty much all snaps together except for three screws. I had it together in about ten minutes, and I did have to install three batteries, which were not included. The Little People Zoo Talkers Animal Sounds Zoo is for ages 1 ½ to 5 years old, and my 3 and 4-year-old sons love it. There is so much to do, both front and back that my boys didn't feel crowded with both of them playing. The set makes so many different noises, not including the music or speech about the animals. There are squeaks, twist noises, clicks and more. My boys are just so excited each time they play with it to make as much noise as they can! There is a slide, swing, twisting leaf, peek-a-boo door and little spots to put the animals.
The only thing I was disappointed with was that the set only comes with three animals and a zookeeper. It is enough for two-three kids to play with but I would like to have more animals. Luckily, there is a total of nine other animals you can purchase to play with in the set that I am sure I will be adding to ours.
Overall, the playset is very colorful, bright and is a great size. I was impressed with all the sounds and interactions you can make and my boys love it. They played with it for a good hour right when we set it up and then played with it again a few more times throughout the day and since then. They even found other random animals and figurines to play with and even put their cars on the waterslide! As far as educational aspects go, I like that my boys can see how the different animals live (North and South Poles, Jungle, and Water regions. I would recommend this playset for any child and it will definitely grow with your child as it is fun for all ages!

Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Learning Music Player
+ Good Songs: Not only does *she* like them, but they are comparatively good for a children's toy. There are enough of them that the repetition isn't overly grating.
+ Lightweight: My daughter is easily able to carry this toy around with her, whether walking (unsteadily) or crawling.
+ Baby Friendly Design: The handles make the toy easy for her to carry. The buttons easily allow her to skip songs and/or to repeat her favorites. (The handles also make it easy to attach it high chairs/play pens/car seats if you have plastic ring links, which can usually be found in the baby section of most department stores.)
+ Durable: In two months it has withstood a tremendous amount of toddler abuse (i.e. flinging, banging, chewing).
+ Off Button: This toy comes with a recessed "on/off" switch on the back that tiny fingers can't manipulate. (Which is why this is one of the few toys that we haven't removed the batteries from.)
+ Entertaining: This toy distracts her when she is cranky and entertains her in boring situations (i.e. car rides). It really is developmentally appropriate for young toddlers; it holds her attention so much longer than similar electronic baby toys.
I really cannot recommend this toy enough. I'm not a huge fan of plastic/blinking/noise making toys, but this is one that my daughter really enjoys. The Fisher-Price Learning Music Player is one of the few toys that I'll actually search the house for when it has been misplaced. This is simply the very best 1st toy for a baby, PERIOD. If it seems a bit expensive, believe me it's worth every penny in happiness and satisfaction for a little one! If you only have a limited amount of money to spend on toys for your baby, please get this toy. It's so much learning and fun in one package and is lasting enjoyment for YEARS whereas other toys are limited in scope and don't entertain or last even half this long!
I bought this for my great grandson when he was first born and played it for him. He's played with it continuously since then...it was always the favorite take-a-long toy when going places in the car. He likes it in his bed and takes it all over the house. He's 20 months now and it's still one of his favorite toys. He bounces with the music and tries to sing along with it. He has some favorites...Row Row Row your Boat and the ABC song. When very small, baby can press the big button easily to play it and later they can press the smaller buttons and change the sequence of the songs...play them over and over, etc.
We call it his "radio". We wanted to find a wind-up Fisher-Price radio like the ones we bought our daughters when they were little, but couldn't find any. Instead we found this and weren't sure whether it would be as good, but it's been GREAT! It is VERY durable, having been thrown on tile floors and out of the crib numerous times, but has never failed to play. It goes a long time on a set of batteries too, which is nice. Also like the volume control for when he goes to bed and wants to play it...it doesn't have to be so loud.
Finally, with kids, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, the very best toys with the most lasting enjoyment have always been FISHER PRICE toys!

We bought this for our daughter who always wanted to play with mommy and daddy's ipods. It worked for the most part and our daughter loved to dance along to the 9 short tunes preloaded on it. Unfortunately, it recently broke and even after daddy took it appart and tried to repair it there was not apparent break. So it's fine when it works, but that's not for long. I'd say it's worth about $10 but not really $20.Friday, February 21, 2014
The First Years Disney Pooh Peek & Teethe Crinkle Book
Buy The First Years Disney Pooh Peek & Teethe Crinkle Book Now
This is a cute, bright little book (emphasis on little, there is a cover page, one page in the middle, and the back cover page) that my three-month-old likes. I think it is overpriced online; I bought mine at a well-known supercenter store for $4.80. The crinkle pages and little flaps that fold down are interesting to baby, and the dialogue is simple enough that my two-year old nephew had it down after two readings--he was thrilled that he could "read" this book to his baby cousin. I'm hopeful that my baby will like the teether pages (both the cover and the back page have the plastic teether parts) once she starts cutting teeth. I'm very happy with my purchase, but again, I bought mine for about half of what this item is listed.Read Best Reviews of The First Years Disney Pooh Peek & Teethe Crinkle Book Here

Safety 1st Temp Guard, Frog
Buy Safety 1st Temp Guard, Frog Now
I purchased this frog temp guard for an easy way to make sure the water isn't too hot in our 4 month old daughters tubby. I always think the water is too hot and my husband always thinks it's too cold so this is an easy way to know. It is nice and cheap but is simple and works. We just throw this into her tub while filling up the water and getting her ready. We pull it out for a second and look at the bottom. If it says "HOT" then we know it's too hot. If it doesn't then we know it's good. We still test with our elbow too, but this makes it a lot more fool proof. It is also a little toy for her to look at and play with. Glad we bought it.This is so cute and so very useful. It really helps make bath time so much easier and really less stressful because you don't have to worry if the temperature of the water is to hot or to cold.I bought this because I had read in a book that it was great for bath time but when I went to use it, the temperature indicator always looked the same. It looks as though it always says "hot" even when it's not in water. So I've resorted to using it as an expensive bath toy.Friday, January 31, 2014

We bought this for our daughter for Easter she played with it alot she enjoys giving Elmo his milk and taking the underwear on and off. However the potty that he comes with is very small and very heard even for me to keep him balanced on it, they need to make the potty bigger for him to sit on. I like how if Elmo doesnt get to the potty he will comment that accidents happen. The DVD only has clips of the Elmo goes potty movie. But is short enough my two year old will watch parts of it. Overall she likes the toy.Awkward for a 2 year old to operate. Elmo doesn't sit on the potty very well.I thought this toy sounded so great, but reality is it isn't so great. Hard for Elmo to sit on the toilet. Hard for my daughter to give Elmo his drink she tries putting it to his mouth and he keeps complaining about being thirsty so she ends up losing interest. I'd say it's a fine toy if I had paid $20, but given I didn't I wouldn't purchase it again.Friday, September 13, 2013

Munchkin Bath Shape Sorter Bath Toy
The turtle and shapes are all very fun. However, if you have more than 1 inch of water in the tub, it makes it difficult for the child to get the shape in the hole as it moves. I understand that this should be expected as it is merely floating in the water, however I expected to have just a little more boyancy than it currently does.
It serves it purpose and she enojoys playing with it as long as I hold the turtles head while she is putting the shape in the hole. As she gets older this will not be a problem as she will be able to do both at the same time. Overall, if you are wanting something like this for the tub it'll work....

Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Learning Workbench
As to the comments about stability, of course the toy falls over when children try to stand and lean on it, but what do you expect from a toy of this size? Fisher Price made the legs as stable as they likely could for a toy of this size. I'm really not sure what they could do to improve on it besides making the whole thing larger.
Lots of fun/great price. A toy my son can grow with.

I saw this little work bench at Babies 'R Us months ago and loved it! I immediately wanted to buy it for my little boy, but decided to wait until he was a little older. I bought it a few weeks ago for my son (he is now 4 months old) and the toy is for 6 months +. I didn't think he'd be into it yet so I just had it sitting in the bag in my dining area for a while. One day I decided to put it in his room and I pulled it out of the bag and showed it to him. My son's face lit up and he got all excited so I started playing with it to show him. He LOVED it so I took it out of the packaging then and there and he has played with it every day since! My son still needs support sitting so he sits in his bumbo or on my lap to play with the work bench and he will play with it for 20 min+ until I decide for us to move on to something else. I love it and so does my baby, great toy!Want Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Learning Workbench Discount?
It's a cute and fun toy, but my 8 month old continuously pulls it into/onto himself. Sometimes completely pulling it to the ground. Needless to say it's very light weight. BUT I do have to say it is fun if you sit and hold it while you play. I'd definitely recommend this toy for a brand new sitter or to help "practice" sitting.
