Baby Toys: Hide and Squeak Eggs Sorting Fun

Okay, at Easter I bought 2 entertaining types of eggs. I bought these and I bought the "Hide em and find em" eggs. These were way cheaper and a MUCH better deal in my opinion. My 22 month old son still plays with these and through them, I am able to teach him colors, shapes and he can work on his fine motor skills. These are a great toy! And they are not just for easter. They are durable and big enough that they aren't a choking hazard. The don't require batteries......yeah!!!! And the only sound they make is when you push down on them they make a little squeak. The tops fit onto all 6 of the eggs and I love the little carton they all come in. I will definitely be buying this as a gift for other friends as I think it's an amazing toy!

I can't believe this toy isn't a staple in the household like those shape sorters. It's durable, adorable and I even like playing with it. The little peeps squeak, You can match the bottom shape and the faces. I bought this for my son when he was 1 1/2 and he got a bit frustrated with not being able to match the bottom shapes so the eggs wouldn't go in. He's 2 now and has fun with it. I've bought several for birthdays too.

This was a wonderful find. I had never heard of these before. And, they stretch a wide age band to enjoy. We first gave these around 10 months & they were an immediate favorite. There is something about putting the eggs in & out of the little plastic container as well as putting the 2 sides of the eggs together that the babies love.

They are really cute & easy to keep clean. You can take them anywhere as they are compact; however, be careful not to lose any halves of the eggs.

There are no sharp edges & they are the perfect size for little hands. I would say these are indestructible as they are very durable.

What is really neat about these eggs is how educational they are. Each egg has a different pair of eyes painted on them & they have a corresponding/matching egg top that they have to match or pair up. Also, the bottum of each egg is a different shape including: triangle, circle, star, square, cross/plus sign, and a heart. Each shape fits into a certain slot in the carton. This is how we taught these basic shapes & pretty quickly.

NOTE: obviously, it takes time for them to learn to match the eyes, shapes, etc & is why this toy stretches out for a wide age span which is nice. It grows w/ them until they learn all of this.

They also have the cutest little squeak when you press down on them.

Best of all no batteries or anything loud. Just pure thoughtful fun.

I now give this as a 1 year old gift b/c for some reason, like myself, no one has heard of these. I haven't seen a baby not immediately go to these.

Hopefully these will be found by more people b/c they are wonderful in so many ways.

My son got these "eggs" for his 1st birthday and has been playing with them everyday for 3 months. While he can't sort yet, he dumps them out, puts them back, puts the top "shell" back on, and carries them around in his little hands. At his birthday party all the kids 1-6yrs seemed to have fun with these eggs. (more advanced kids can sort shapes and match the chick's faces to the top of the egg shell. It's also a great toy to stick in your diaper bag or toy bag. The pieces are not too small to get lost and with 6 "eggs" easy to keep track of plus the carton closes up.

This is one of the cuter shape sorters I have seen. The faces on the shells are cute, and I love how the little chicks make their peeping noise when you press them. It isn't at all loud or annoying either. I also really like how the tops go on the eggs. Any top fits any egg so you can mix them up.

Baby Einstein Music and Discovery Travel Mirror

This is an awesome product with lots of settings to choose from. It is probably one of the best purchases I have made for my little one besides the tiny love take along mobile.

I don't necessarily use it as it is intended, but it still does the job of entertaining my little guy and fulfills the tracking lights requirement I was looking for. We haven't had the opportunity to use it in the car as of yet since he is still in the hospital at seven months old now, but it still works. I use the strap to affix it to or over the hospital tv, this makes it even easier to set it up no matter which direction he is facing in his bed because of the swivel arm the tv is on. I love that we can set it for up to as long as 60 minutes of music. That way even if a nurse sets it she doesn't have to worry about it going off and needing to be reset every ten to fifteen minutes.

I noticed someone mentioned it is too loud. I thought that was just me being overly sensitive because of his situation. I quickly remedied that with a piece of cloth tape over the speaker.

All in all, it might not be for everyone. But I love that it has different settings and options. In my opinion that gives it more longevity and an opportunity to grow with him. Who knows it may become a staple just like the tiny love take along mobile and help us make the transition from the hospital to home.

I hope this helps someone else who might be in the same sort of situation we are in. I was discouraged at first when I couldnt' find a way to attach it to his crib and not be in the way of the doctors and nurses. I was so determined to use it that it finally occured to me. That has also helped me to look at all of the toys I browse through in a different light. I try to think of other uses or how they can be modified or adjusted to meet our needs.

I got this for my grandson to take in the car but it is so easy to use in so many places and I love that you can set the timefor it to play on 4 different settings!!!

I originally had the Fisher Price lights mirror, but the music and lights only lasted around 10 minutes and the remote only worked sporadically. That's when I decided to purchase this one. We LOVE it!

The timer can be set for up to 60 minutes, which is perfect for the trips I use it for.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it isn't designed to act as a mirror for the driver. It doesn't have any way to slant it so that you can see baby from the front. My husband was still able to rig it to work =) but it would be better if it had the verticle adjustment like other similiar mirrors.

This product plays the great Baby Einstein music that we all know. It does get really annoying in the car if you let it play past the 10 minute mark though.

The "button" on the bottom are deceiving though.. i thought they were interactive but they are just lights that flash back and forth for the baby to look at. The mirror has no buttons for the child.. just the on/off button on top for the parent (the sun).

The mirror attached easily to my back headrests in several positions easily and hasnt slipped off yet.

I set the mirror up in several locations and i still can't fully see my sons face in my rear view mirror without leaning forward toward my mirror. Even then i can just barely see his face in the corner of the Baby Einstein mirror. We have the Britax Marathon 70 and the side of the headrests block a great deal of vthe view when i turn around to see him, so this mirror does help with that.

Poor quality mirror and the music and lights are really loud and fast. I would recommend looking for another mirror.

Tiny Love Musical Nature Stroll Toy Bar

I purchased this stroller activity toy bar for my active baby boy when he was 3 months old. He took to it immediately, and within a minute or so started pulling on the little strawberry-shaped pull that activates the spinning propeller. The spinning propeller has decals on both sides so it's interesting from either side. He loved looking through the Lion "Prism", he'd look through and smile and laugh. He loved spinning the Parrot spinner, at 3 months, it was totally his skill level so it always gave him something active to do to distract him from being frustrated. At the beginning, I set aside the little musical mirror that hangs from the Lion Prism, mainly because the music is on the loud side, it activates itself when it hits something, or you press it, and without fail, it was always went off once the baby fell asleep. There's no way to adjust the volume level or even turn it off. Now at 14 months, we enjoy playing with the musical mirror, just not on the stroller....

How does it fit onto the strollers? Place the little blue clamps onto a spot on each side of your carseat/carriage. Turn the orange twist knobs, they tighten down the clamps. The whole thing has four bend points across the arch (after each toy) so that it can be moved and adjusted into a number of shapes.

Strollers: I used this for six months on my Graco Snugride carseat/Graco Snugrider stroller combo, it tightens on fine. Then I moved it to my Peg Perego Pliko P3, where it also fits fine. On the Graco it was useful because it forms a frame so that I can drape a nursing cover over the existing sunshade and the Toy Bar to extend the sun shade like a little tent over him so that he was completely out of the sun and could sleep in peace.

We still use it at 14 months on the Peg Perego to do the same thing, and it forms a little tent in from of him (desert sun....) but he can still look out to the side as he's falling asleep, so the Toy Bar prevents him from losing his entire view....

Travel: This was useful to have on our carseat on the plane when we took quite a few long flights.

Compare to Tiny Love Sunny Stroll Toy Bar: It's much better than Tiny Love Sunny Stroll Toy Bar (which we also own): If you're deciding between the Musical Nature Stroll and the Sunny Stroll Toy Bar, then definitely buy the Musical Nature Stroll (even if it's more expensive...) A few reasons:

1. The Strawberry-shaped pull that activates the spinning propeller is much easier for a young baby (3-4 months) to grasp vs. the Sunny Stroll rattly-birdy shaped ball. On the Sunny Stroll, he almost never pulled the propeller, on the Musical Nature, he was always playing with it.

2. Musical Nature Stroll includes the little hanging mirror that is also musical, which we still have fun with today (although as a minus, there's no way to shut it off....see above). The Sunny Stroll mirror isn't musical. The mirrors are plastic on both, he never really looks in them as mirrors.

3. The little Lion "Prism" on the Musical Nature Stroll was always captivating for my baby, I think he likes Lions. He never showed the same interest in the little Sun Prism, the shape or the colors just aren't as eye-catching.

4. The Musical Nature's Parrot Spinner, again, is just that bit more interesting. The little butterfly hangs from it. On the Sunny Stroll, there's a Butterfly Spinner, and then a butterfly hanging from it, and it always strikes me as being a bit boring, because it's a butterfly with a butterfly, i.e. the concept is duplicated.

Overall, the Musical Nature Stroll was one of the best purchases we made. It's very adjustable and versatile and we still use it on the stroller in conjunction with a cover to keep the sun off the baby.

This is a really cute toy. My 5 1/2 month old daughter seemed interested in it when I took it out of the package. Unfortunately it didn't fit on my carseat (Britax Boulevard carseat sides too wide) or stroller (UppaBaby G-Luxe bad angle). I had to return it.

We bought this for our son mainly to use on long car rides. The item is well made, the colors are perfect, and we love being able to pretty much bend it any way we want. When we first got it, he was about 11 weeks old so we just attached it in the most upright position and he would just stare at it. Now that he's older, we set it a little lower so he can grab the attachments and use his feet to play with it. He grabs and chews on the butterfly and the rubber strawberry. Pulling on the little strawberry makes the fan spin. He also kicks at the mirror in the middle. If he kicks it hard enough, it plays a little tune. You have to hit it pretty hard to get the music to play though so it's something for younger babies to grow with. I like that it has two rattles, one inside the bird and the other inside the back of the mirror. So, when we're driving he always has some noise keeping his attention even if he's not actively playing with the toy. It's also great for getting his attention when he's being fussy about being placed in the car seat. Once I place it over the car seat, he instantly quiets down and starts playing with his toy. He loves it and we do too!

Encouraged by the positive reviews I purchased this activity arch for my son when he was 6 weeks old. He was quite alert baby from the beginning and he loved staring at the colorful toys attached to the bar, especially at the spinning propeller. Now he is almost 4 months old and I think now he can fully appreciate the versatility of this wonderful toy! I do not want to repeat the detailed description of the toy bar as it was already depicted beautifully in other reviews. Let me just say my son loves grabbing the hanging music mirror, squeezing the rustling butterfly and staring and touching lion prism, pull the propeller rope. This is a really great product!

Unfortunately this cartridge is pretty bad.

1. The buttons are very non-responsive

2. The sign language is not clear

3. The games have little interaction with the child

The response time is slow when a button is pushed and the games are too confining. My son doesn't like it as much as the one that came with the unit.

The original game that came with the unit is very responsive because something always happens when a button is pushed but, not so in the care bears version.

Also, the baby sign language is not clear because the hands are too small and it's hard to see what sign they are demonstrating.

D'Little Devil Costume

This costume is appropriately sized and not too heavy, so if you live in a climate that's not very cold, your child won't overheat in it. It's soft and bright, but I have to say I wish the horns were bigger. They are very small and don't stand up well, so it's a little difficult to see them. Also there is no tail. I purchased a FELT DEVIL TAIL separately, which my son promptly tried to pull off. I also added a Devil Costume Pitchfork, and honestly my little one had more fun with this than anything else. I like the wings, though a lot of devil costumes don't have wings and this was a cute addition. Overall, this was an adorable costume and a good choice for my rambunctious toddler.

Our son not only looked the part of a devil, he acted like one too. Red is such a great color on him and he had fun playing with the wings. Very cool costume and he didn't roast in it like I thought. Thanks!

Kids Preferred Mama-Baby Turtle Musical

I have been searching for a musical stuffed animal for my two-year-old there are so many available that play either "Twinkle Twinkle" or "Brahm's Lullaby," but I wanted something unique. Was delighted to find this turtle that plays "You Are My Sunshine."

The turtle itself is really cute and cuddly, and winding the baby turtle was easy for my daughter (and avoids the problem of long pull strings and strangling dangers). The music boxes seem to be defective the first one I ordered wouldn't play. After a quick replacement from Amazon, we have one that works, but one of the notes in the music box is severely out of tune. I'm not a musical expert, but it really bothers me to listen to it! Lily loves the turtle, so we will keep it, but I wish I could have sampled several turtles to make sure the music box was in decent shape.

I bought this for my son, because I've been singing "you are my sunshine" to him since he was born. He loves to hear the music and the material is very soft. Well made, I pulled on the legs and bows and they were sewn securely. The eyes are sewn, not buttons.

Ty Beanie Babies 2.0 Sledder Husky

I purchased three of these Beanie Babies for my son. His sister gave him one and our dog got to it and destroyed it. I purchased the sledder husky and it's not the same as illustrated. Little Tikes Discover Sounds PDA

Another lemon! As I took it out of the box the "bells and whistles" started going off (good sign) but while taking it off the packaging, the darn thing broke! My hands are not that strong (arthritis) so if inadvertedly pressing too hard broke it, I can't imagine how it could survive a toddler.

My daughter is 3 months old, and we just purchased this toy for her. She loves that the rings on both sides allow her to grab the bee and then put it into her mouth to explore. The wings "crunch" and are shiny which gives her different textures to explore. Because it is light it is easier for her to grab and play with by herself than some of her lamaze toys which have similar features, but are very large and difficult for her to hold by herself.

I picked this up for my 6 month old and she loved it for about 5 months. We took it everywhere (the link is helpful-if it's not long enough for you, just add another link) and it always amused her. I was a little concerned about her chewing on the little butterfly and little sun attached to the larger piece. I worried that they could come off and choke her. THey never did, but I will be very careful about those pieces with her new sister. When my eldest finally stopped playing with it I put it away and brought it out again when she was 18 months old, she loved it again. This time she loved playing baby butterfly and mommy butterfly. I'm getting another one for her new sister.

This is a fun product for a baby--there are a bunch of similar things out there--but what amazes me most is that I sent it through the washing machine HOT HOT water and it STILL WORKS, sounds and all. Very impressed by its construction, it totally held up.

The colors are bright, it makes a crinkle noise, and accomodates bigger photos than most baby cubes. And the noises--baby laughing, baby gurgling, a big kiss--are engaging. It's on the larger size but light. I think it's worth the $$.

This photo cube is a great idea for kids that you don't live near because you can put photos of yourself so they recognize you when you visit. My only critique is that the cute noises it makes are unpredictable. I could only figure out how to get one of the noises to work on command and the others seemed random. Either way, I'm sure my niece will like it.

Fabric Rattle - Green

It is not that loud, so it does not always sooth the boy. Very soft. Not a safety hazard. Good.

i bought this item (from a different seller)and was very disappointed to learn you only get ONE rattle. They are sold separately so this item 's description is misleading. I thought I was ordering the set of 3 rattles. Also, it is not very durable especially for a baby who puts everything in her mouth and is teething. The rattle has a mesh netting that is not holding up to being chewed on nor being washed. I would not recommend this for a baby but perhaps a toddler who is no longer teething.

Mary Meyer Little MVP Rattle, Bear

I just got this rattle today. It is different from the pic. It's the same bear but it's a pull toy. You pull it and it makes sounds. And there is a hook so you can attach it to the car seat. It is super cute though. I LOVE it :)

This item is soft and safe with no buttons,etc. I like the fact that it does not contain pesticides or toxic chemicals. It is lightweight and the handle part makes it easy for the baby to hold.

Fisher-Price Go Baby Go! Bop & Rock Musical Lion

Let me start by saying that my 8-month-old loves this toy, but as the other reviewer stated, it continually falls over at the slightest touch. Considering that the toy comes with a plastic hammer with which to strike three balls and the rattles the lion holds, it makes for frustrating play (particularly for the adult that must constantly hold the toy to prevent it from toppling over). It seems like the toy was never tested with an actual infant because I discovered the fault within the first few minutes of play. It's disappointing that the "experts" at Fisher-Price would allow this toy to be marketed considering that it does NOT work as intended in the slightest. If my daughter didn't enjoy it so much, it certainly would be returned or in the trash. But as it stands, I'm doomed to balance the toy with one hand, while trying to play with her and help her replace the plastic balls with the other. I would not recommend this toy at all until Fisher-Price sees fit to either make the base heavier or wider to help off-set the imbalance.

I got this toy for my 6 month old b/c my mother-in-law has an old toy that also involves hammering balls through holes. My daughter really loves that toy, so when I saw this I figured it was close enough in concept to hold her attention. So far she really enjoys bashing stuff with the hammer and poking the balls through the holes. She can only just pick up the balls, so it's helping her with dexterity. She's too young to put the balls in the holes on her own, so we play with this together. The fact that it's top-heavy, like others have said, doesn't bother me b/c I can hold it up for her since I'm with her anyway. Down the road, if she still likes the toy, I'll prop it up with a book. At this age, my daughter still wants to grab things and put them in her mouth. In her case, the fact that this toy is so light is a good thing she can pick it up herself, and if it falls on her it's not going to hurt her.

My complaint is that after you push the balls in a couple of times, a long song kicks off. As such, subsequent ball drops don't really elicit a cause-and-effect response. So, I have to clap and cheer for her instead. This is fine except she really likes lights and sounds

My mother bought this for my son. As others have mentioned, it's not balanced right. The toy tips over way too easily.

That being said, my 8 month old is fascinated by the music, sounds and pushing the balls through the holes (kind of like whack-a-mole). He uses his hands, not the "hammer." The one thing that my wife and I enjoy, is it calms him down when he's upset. So that alone is worthwhile.

If Fisher Price balanced this better, I'd give it 4 or 5 stars. Otherwise, you can pass on this one.

Update... my son is now 9 months and has learned to put the balls in the right places and push them through the appropriate holes. He loves the toy, but my comments about the tipping still hold true. If Fisher Price balanced it better, this would be a super toy.

I bought this for my son to help him learn how to bang toys (he is developmentally delayed). He likes it but it is very top heavy and falls over backwards very easily. Kind of disappointed.

This toy didn't play music or move properly from the moment I bought it, despite changing the batteries. Even if it had worked properly, it falls over with the slightest touch. It's frustrating to have to keep picking it up for my baby to play with it. I thought about exchanging it for a new one to fix the light/music problem, but I think I'll just return it all together and get something else.

Little Tikes 2 in 1 Farm Sort and Stack

My twins received this as a gift. They weren't ready for it when they got it and I considered exchanging it because I already had a different shape sorter but my husband talked me into keeping it. I wish that I had exchanged it. My kids are now 15 months old and hardly ever play with it for several reasons. Putting shapes into a horizontal wall is very difficult. Really the only way that they can get the shapes in is to put the toy on its side and this makes the silo part of the toy useless. But the silo part of the toy is almost useless anyway. The center tower part comes off VERY easily and my kids won't and can't keep it in place to stack the hay. I think that they have literally put one of the hay bales on the center pole once.

The only saving grace is that for some strange reason the center yellow pole that the hay bales go on is a favorite toy around here. They walk around with this strange thing and love it.

The toy is cute, but there are much better and more functional shape sorters on the market. I recommend that you look elsewhere.

Maple Teethers

My 7 month old daughter LOVES these! I also have 3 of the Waldorf teethers and I like these much better. They are smoother and don't require waxing. These are very easy for her to grab and get into her mouth.

These are gorgeous -very well made. My baby is just 4 months old and isn't too interested in them yet (she's just learning to grab and her little mouth doesn't quite fit around the teether)...but I bet she'll really love them in a couple months. If you're looking for a reasonably priced Waldorf-type teether (these are JUST as good quality as the super expensive Waldorf teethers I've seen) buy this. And I'm not easily pleased.

these are great... except that baby doesn't actually use them for teething. It's more of a toy to hold and bang on things with. They are nice, though, and we do take them everywhere.

I love it! I do not need to worry about what kind of chemicals are on it or if it may leach into my baby. Yes there is no finish on it, but that is what you want, you do not want this riddled with chemicals, be glad it does not have a finish on it. It is not rough it is smooth. I put 1 drop of clove oil to 2 tablespoon organic extra virgin olive oil then rub that on the toy, the clove oil help to numb the mouth naturally ( you MUST use olive oil no water with the clove oil and use no less then 2 tablespoons to 1 drop ).

These teethers are unbelievably smooth and made of a very hard maple; there's no chance of splintering, a concern of mine before they arrived. I love that each teether is slightly different in its shape and wood grain, a real handmade item (or at least it appears to be handmade, as each is unique). They're a perfect size to fit in a baby's small hands, and the angled or rounded edges are just right for fitting between a baby's sore gums. Each comes with a tiny stamp with the name of the maker in Vermont and the date it was made--ours are stamped with 6/10, which means they were made only a month ago. We have a baby who is just starting to teeth, and he likes gnawing on these. Good all-natural product--I'm glad we purchased them.

Clutch & Crinkle Ball

We were visiting a friend that had bought this product for her baby on the way. My 5 1/2 month old son was restless so she gave it to him and he LOVED it! He loved the bright colors, the noises and the shape was very easy to hold. I liked it because I could link it to anything with my Link-a-Doos!

I bought one of these from an outlet store and my twins loved it so much that I had to search the internet to find another one. This is a great toy for the car or stroler (attach with more Link a Doos) and is machine washable.
