Kel Gar would be wise to include instructions for folding the tent with the product. For those who, like me, struggled putting it away for the first time I've included a video. (It's surprisingly difficult to explain in words) The tent worked fine on a calm day but a modest breeze caused it to fold. The zipper on the bag failed after a couple of uses.

We bought this sun dome last summer and have found many uses for it. It's great for outdoors perfect for naps, play time, and it has a large enough opening you can even breastfeed inside with just your legs sticking out. It's really well ventilated, in addition to being a great solar ray blocker. We even use it inside for playtime and my daughter loves it. It bends and folds to fit into a flat circular carrying case. It takes a couple times of packing it away to get the hang of it. But other than that, it's well worth the money if you plan on being outdoors with your little one.

I live near the beach and thought that this would be a great thing to have for my daughter. The first time I used it the dome was so flimsy it completely blew over my daughter while she slept in it. The second time the pole snapped rendering it useless. The customer service at Kelgar was unhelpful and unapologetic.

DANGER!! We've been through two of these in two summers and both times a rod snapped, cutting through the fabric, making the product dangerous. The first time my son was an infant and we caught it right away. This time my son was injured! I also gave one as a gift my sister in law around the time we initially purchased the product for our son and she had the same problem. After 3 uses she had to throw it away. I was able to exchange mine the first time, but this time I was told to contact Kel-Gar directly. Kel-Gar claims there is nothing they can do and will not work with us. Very frustrated and would encourage buyers to look at different companies and products.

After reading all the negative reviews on this item I had to post a positive one because I LOVE THIS TENT! My husband and I live in Hawaii and I take my 1 1/2 year old to the beach at least once a week. We have been using this tent since he was 5 months old. This tent is very easy to use and keeps my son nice and shaded. The mesh sides allow air to flow throughout thus, keeping it cool. I always fill the side pockets with sand and then place a lunch box or small bag of toys inside for extra stability. You do need to be conscious of wind and sun direction but, when set up at the right angle, this tent is great! It is NOT that difficult to fold (there are instructions!) and it is light and VERY portable. I would recommend this tent to anyone who spends lots of time at the beach.

Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Classic Xylophone

These are such fun, classic toys. My kids (almost 1 and 3 years) both love it! It has the added bonus of being on wheels for pulling all over the house. I only wish the cord were a bit longer. I understand the fear that kids are going to hurt themselves, but if it were even an inch or two longer it would be able to reach the farthest keys. As it stands, my daughter has to really tug at it and hold it awkwardly to reach the farthest key.

I picked the Fisher Price for the durability, believing the overall quality would be good as well. I was terribly disappointed when we opened this for my daughter's birthday to find many of the bars out of tune. Also, the sting is too short for her to get the mallet to the bars. I understand it is short for safety, but even an adult has to struggle with reaching all the bars to tap. I do not like it and will be purchasing something to replace it in the future.

This seems like a bad version of what was once a good toy..

1. Pull cord connected to mallet is too short.... So short you can barely play the xylophone. I understand you don't want it long enough for a kid to choke themselves with,--but come on- 2 more inches would really help. (Update: discovered that this cord length helps very young babies play the instrument)

2. It's not on key. Just a bit off.

3. The London bridges song plays so fast when you pull the xylophone along that it is unrecognizable. You can try to pull it really slow...really really slow....

What happened to quality control, Fisher Price? This is sad.

Kawasaki Trike

I bought the trike for my nephew as a Christmas gift. I got it baring in mind that his older brother was getting a real 2 stroke fourwheeler from Santa. It arrived well in advance of Christmas, even though I purchased it a mere two weeks before the holiday. The assembly required could have been done by trained monkeys. He loves it, although his little stubby legs are a bit too short to reach the petals still. His parents are now forced to cart it back and forth everywhere they go because Bren refuses to be parted with his trike.

We got this trike for our 2 1/2 year old son and he absolutely loves it. When looking into this trike I was a little concerned that it looked like a lot of plastic but it is a very rugged trike. Very heavy duty! And it was a breeze to put together! Didnt even need to look at the manual. My 2 year old doesnt want to leave it alone and my 1 year old is trying to convince us that he is big enough for it so I would say it is a big hit at our house.

Pros: Rugged construction with heavy duty frame, kids absolutely love the "real" motorcycle look, stable, durable.

Cons: Misaligned head set bracket (combined with my assembly error) eventually resulted in head set bushing failure.

I bought this trike for a friend who works at a preschool. If the children at this school can't destroy something, it can't be destroyed. They did succeed, after the most intense year of use you can imagine, to break the head set bushings. I called customer service (mentioned in another review) to see if I could buy new head set bushings. Customer service didn't hesitate. They took my name and address, then sent me the new parts at no charge. The guy at customer service suggested that I might have over tightened the head set bolt. He may have been right as I'll explain below. I had the new parts within a few days.

The broken headset bushings were not entirely at fault. The lower head set bracket on the forks was slightly misaligned. The first time I assembled the trike I attempted to align the bracket by over tightening the head set bolt. The plastic head set bushings eventually failed from the trike being hammered into every object (moveable or immoveable) on the playground, and the excess pressure on the plastic bushings. When I received the new bushings, I took the time to bend and realign the lower head set bracket. This time I only tightened the head set bolt to where is was just snug. So, with a minimum of effort, excellent customer service from the distributor, and some free replacement parts, the Kawasaki Trike is back in service joyfully taking a beating again.

The heavy use has also resulted in the grab handle at the back of the seat being broken (I forgot to ask for a new one when I called for the heat set bushings) and some of the paint has worn off where a second child would ride standing on the back axle housing. The little "shock absorber" also came apart, but I was able to screw it back together, this time with Locktite. Taking into account the kind of use this toy has endured, I'd say the wear and tear are about what I'd expect. Overall, it has held up well, and I like the fact that when things to break, it can be repaired with a minimum of fuss. Recommended.

Mannnnn what an awesome product. My baby, who is 19 months, is already pedaling it. We received it Christmas Eve, assembled it and had it out in the open for him to see in front of the tree. As soon as he came down the stairs the morning of the big day, he made a beeline for the trike and the rest is history. Our son is much taller than the average toddler will be able to use this for at least a couple of years so keep that in mind when ordering. The coolest features of this trike is that your child can coast with their feet on the pedals and he/she is not forced to continuously pedal. It also has big thick fattttt tires so it can be ridden on some not so smooth surfaces so its perfect for boys and some not so prissy girls. It is by far the coolest trike I've ever seen. I bought this for my 1-year-old daughter for Christmas and she really loved it. It is one of the few products that I can find that will play in French. The problem is that only one paw will play now. I replaced the battery and it didn't help. It was lightly played with and it's such a shame that it only lasted for a couple of months.

Baby Einstein is really popular now and I was very pleased with the value that I got on this product. I bought it for my grandson who is 10 months old and he loves it. I purchased this product for an autistic child in my kindergarten classroom. He was happy to have something to chew on other than his shirt and I was pleased with the product for the first 30 minutes. After that, he bit through the rubbery cord the chew slide was attached to. I retied the cord and before the end of the day, he had bitten through it again. The next day, he wore it for the first hour and then I noticed the chew slide was missing. He was either biting through the cord or twisting it until it broke, and the slide was missing. So, lesson I should have learned was I should have found a string to attach it to the first time he bit through it. If you purchase this for someone that needs to bit something, replace the string right away.

This is a great product for children that have a tendency to chew on nails, hair or clohtes. It even helps stop the habit. Bravo!

I bought this toy in a store while I was pregnant.. I started showing this toy to my daughter around 2 weeks and she loved to look at it! Now that she's 4 months old she still likes it but sometimes has a hard time holding onto it. I think if the flower petals were more narrow it would be easier for her; but she enjoys grabbing it and shoving the toy in her mouth!

My baby loves this toy. She has down syndrome and is floppy but this toys catches her eye and makes her work her neck muscles when I move it from the left to right. It keeps her interested. Absolutely love it.

This was in a congratulations bag from a friend when we told her we were expecting. I saw it and didn't think much of this toy to be honest. I had almost completely forgotten about it but saw it on his toy shelf and happened to hand it to him. This was at about 3ish months old, when he was really starting to "play" with his own toys (i.e. examine them, then shove them in his mouth lol). He LOVES this toy has since the day I handed it to him. He absolutely loves to grab onto it with both hands and shove it in his mouth always so that the 3 little ribbons are touching his tongue. Then he'll take it out, examine both sides of the toy and stick it back in his mouth. Rinse and repeat. Keeps him occupied for much longer than any of his other toys after the newness of any of them wears off and has for far longer than any of the other toys (most he gets relatively bored with after a few weeks).

Highly recommend this (to me at least) surprisingly perfect toy for an infant!

My son was given this toy when he was 4 months old. I wsan't sure if he would like it because it looked pretty basic , but he instantly took to it. Due to the individual hexagonal cells he could easily grip it with his small hands. He also liked to chew on it. The Busy Little Squirrel (Classic Board Books)

We have a lot of squirrels around the house and my granddaughters love to watch their antics. This book gave them some insight into how a squirrel lives when he isn't chasing his buddies up and down the trees and jumping onto roofs and doing other fun acrobatics with his pals. There are discussion points about what squirrel does in the winter, where does he live, how does he store his food and more. The illustrations are large and colorful and the dialogue simple; the two to four year old crowd at our house loves it!

My daughter is 17 months old, and she just loves this story. It's a simple book, but there is a cute story for her to follow. She loves that as the busy squirrel (who is collecting a variety of food for fall) runs by each animal, she can hear me read the animal noise: "squeek, sweet, croak, meow, woof, and hoo-hoo." She likes to repeat these noises. She also gets to see all the different food that squirrel collects: apples, seeds, berries, nuts, and corn. I think that it is a great little first-learning book. The illustrations are beautiful too!! I highly recommend this book. I am always looking for books that are engaging and teach something that tell a story (as opposed to books that just have a picture and a name of something on each page). This fits the bill!

The bright illustrations and spare text make this a perfect choice for fall story times, especially for the youngest of preschoolers. The author does a masterful job of introducing squirrels while also telling a really cute story. The squirrel often times seems larger than life as he bustles about getting ready for winter. He can't join any of the animals who call out to him because he's got things to do. The final panel showing the squirrel fast asleep gives a perfect opportunity to introduce hibernation and the coming winter. A big recommend for both it's succinct tezt and beautiful illustrations. This one needs to be part of every permanent story time collection.

The Little Busy Squirrel is a simple tale about a squirrel getting ready for winter. He collects acorns, berries and corn as the animals ask him to spend time with him. But he's too busy!' The story has nice word repetition (think of "Brown Bear, Brown Bear by Eric Carle") and wonderful illustrations. We enjoyed finding the bugs amid the pictures and talking about the different animals. Our personal favorite bird is a cardinal so my boys were thrilled to see it here.

I thought the story might be too simple for my six year old but he loved thinking about why we see the squirrels in our yard running about. He was concerned letting out dog out into the yard because he didn't want her to get in the way of the squirrels doing their job. What more could you ask for from a book?

MY TWO CENTS: The Busy Little Squirrel is a delightful book for toddlers, preschoolers and beginning readers that has engaging illustrations and teaches children about hybernation.

The pictures are beautiful, and my twin grandsons, two, really like to watch squirrels from their window, so I thought this book would be a hit! The text, however, is really boring, and I have to jazz it up by making a chant and repeating the word BUSY a bunch of times. I also have to make up a lot of other text to explain what's going on. As a result, the boys love it, but I must say, it is how I read it and NOT the book itself!!! So if you are willing to use a funny voice and be creative, go for it!! :)

Kids Preferred Amazing Baby Develpmental

My daughter is 3 months old, and we just purchased this toy for her. She loves that the rings on both sides allow her to grab the bee and then put it into her mouth to explore. The wings "crunch" and are shiny which gives her different textures to explore. Because it is light it is easier for her to grab and play with by herself than some of her lamaze toys which have similar features, but are very large and difficult for her to hold by herself.

I picked this up for my 6 month old and she loved it for about 5 months. We took it everywhere (the link is helpful-if it's not long enough for you, just add another link) and it always amused her. I was a little concerned about her chewing on the little butterfly and little sun attached to the larger piece. I worried that they could come off and choke her. THey never did, but I will be very careful about those pieces with her new sister. When my eldest finally stopped playing with it I put it away and brought it out again when she was 18 months old, she loved it again. This time she loved playing baby butterfly and mommy butterfly. I'm getting another one for her new sister.

This is a fun product for a baby--there are a bunch of similar things out there--but what amazes me most is that I sent it through the washing machine HOT HOT water and it STILL WORKS, sounds and all. Very impressed by its construction, it totally held up.

The colors are bright, it makes a crinkle noise, and accomodates bigger photos than most baby cubes. And the noises--baby laughing, baby gurgling, a big kiss--are engaging. It's on the larger size but light. I think it's worth the $$.

This photo cube is a great idea for kids that you don't live near because you can put photos of yourself so they recognize you when you visit. My only critique is that the cute noises it makes are unpredictable. I could only figure out how to get one of the noises to work on command and the others seemed random. Either way, I'm sure my niece will like it.

This is based only the "car" toy in this trio. I purchased this at a big name baby store on impulse for my teething baby. He liked it well enough, however, the first time it hit the floor one of the wheels fell off, and it was the wheel that made the noise. Since he was interested only in the broken wheel we had to toss it as the wheel alone is a choking hazard. Good idea; nice colors; responsive to shaking/actions; poor construction.

Russian Wooden Alphabet Blocks

The photograph does not do these blocks justice!!! I was hesitant to order them due to the high cost, but was delighted when I received these absolutely beautiful wooden blocks in the mail. The blocks are larger than what you typically see in the USA, around 2" square. They're well sanded hardwood with gently rounded edges (just enough so the little ones won't get splinters, but not so much that they do not fit tightly together when stacked). One side has carved letters so the child can feel how the letter is made, while another side has crisply printed letters or numbers. The little animal pictures on one side are sharply etched and the animal names are clear and easy to read (unlike most blocks that have fuzzy printing on them). I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for high-quality blocks to introduce the alphabet or stacking to their little ones.

The Russian Wooden Alphabet Blocks were the perfect gift for my Russian friend's one year old daughter! She loves them, and they are the right size for her hands. They are very sturdy and brightly colored. The only thing I would like to have had with them would be some type of carrying case or bag.

We own three sets of these--English, Russian, and Arabic.

I love the Russian blocks. My only issue is that although all of the letters are included, you cannot spell out the entire alphabet of 33 letters with the hard sign because there are only 32 blocks. This is possible because each block has a letter on four sides, so there is ample room for each character to appear two or more times. But since you can only display one side when lining them up, you can't line up the alphabet.

I suppose this is because raising the number of blocks would put the cost prohibitively high. However, I would have bought them anyway.

I bought the Arabic set last week and it is of just as good quality as the Russian blocks I bought four years ago.

Disney Owl Developmental Sound Toy

This item is ok but does not resemble an owl. Large item that looks more like a big pink Tweety Bird. Granddaughter can reach it and seems to like it. Also clamps tightly to the handle of her car seat for on the go entertainment.

I connected this to my daughter's carseat and she loves it. I thought it was adorable but it has become one of her favorites.

Baby Einstein Music Mirror

My baby finds this toy boring after less than a minute. It has two settings (colors and music) but they are both essentially the same. The color setting says a color then plays the music from the music setting. My daughter just ends up staring out the window.
