This is the best toy to give a toddler (1+ years). It is gift I give for those first birthday parties or first Christmases. Every kid loves it, and it often becomes their favorite toy. They don't grow tired of it.

The models of this toy vary some in the coloring of the plastic, the velocity that the balls shoot out the top, the decorations on the side, etc.

But it is always a hit ... and after giving the toy, the parents will invariably come back with "that's his favorite toy" or "she has never grown tired of the ball popper" or "you always give her the best things" ... definitely a hit if you need a standout something for a toddler in your life.

Wonderworld Wonder Sensory Blocks

The product description and picture today, 9 October 2012, is the same as it was when I purchased this toy from Amazon. Do not rely on the product description, it is not correct. Because of this I'm starting my review with an accurate description of what you actually get.

This set includes nine diamond shaped blocks and one plank block. There are three primary colored blocks with a circle cut out of the center and piece of clear colored plastic placed over one side. If you look through these blocks they will tint everything, and if you place two together and look through them you will see the correct secondary color tint. There are four natural colored blocks which have an indented circle on one side, three have a touch element and one has a mirror. The plank has four indented circles with matching touch elements / mirror. There are two sound blocks, one orange, one green.

I bought these for my son when he was 14 months, the touch elements, which all feel pretty much the same and would only be interesting to a baby who's never felt any sort of fabric, are already way to young for him, however, the addition of the plank will allow for matching when he's older. The green sound block works okay and my son likes it, but would enjoy it more if there was more sound. The orange sound block works technically speaking, but in terms of being played with by a baby it does not work at all. The three primary colored blocks work as they should, but could be easily improved on. Right now the hollowed middle is fascinating to my son and the ability to see things in the different colors will be fascinating as he gets older. As "sensory" blocks these are a failure. If you're looking for a good set of sensory blocks keep looking. As a good starter set of blocks with a few sensory elements these are wonderful. Because these are diamond shaped blocks there is more potential when it comes to building and much more learning and exploration than you can ever find with the traditionally shaped blocks, but without being frustrating. The wood is smooth and durable and my son loves to build with these.

We LOVE these blocks! They were purchased for my 12 month old and I can see getting years of use out of these. They are very well made, come in a little bag, and have lots to explore! I love the color blocks, it is so simple to teach primary and secondary colors with these. There are lots of things to touch and match, as well as shakers to play with. A wonderful purchase!

This is a sensory toy that focuses on three of the senses of sight, touch and sound for kids 18 months+. I decided to get these for my 2 year old nephew for Christmas. When I received the box it was small and I was worried that maybe I wasted my money. When I opened the box the blocks are somewhat small but they are exactly like the picture. Different textures and colors. My nephew enjoys playing with them and stacking them up. My sister-in-law was very satisfied with them! So all in all an educational toy that your little will enjoy!

Child's Costume, Lil Bee Costume

It does fall apart quickly, like the other comments say, but it is super cute for one-night Halloween party. We first put it on our 2-year old (it fit, but was a little tight) for the church Halloween party, and it was excellent. But for the actual Halloween night the bottom flower raffle string fell off. It was not too bad, we just cut it off completely and it still looked ok, but if you expect it to be better quality, you may want to look for something better. It is kind of harsh material too, so our daughter complained that it is itchy after a while. Either way, Halloween is only once a year, and this will work if you are looking for something cute and inexpensive for just 1-2 times to wear for your kid.

My little wears it looks very lovely and cute, but the same comments as below ones, very bad quality! When I just hung it in the wardrobe, the bottom of the skirt just broken. The material of the dress looks very cheap, luckily it just wear limited times, or otherwise, it would be bad experiences.

Kids Preferred Mama-Baby Turtle Musical

I have been searching for a musical stuffed animal for my two-year-old there are so many available that play either "Twinkle Twinkle" or "Brahm's Lullaby," but I wanted something unique. Was delighted to find this turtle that plays "You Are My Sunshine."

The turtle itself is really cute and cuddly, and winding the baby turtle was easy for my daughter (and avoids the problem of long pull strings and strangling dangers). The music boxes seem to be defective the first one I ordered wouldn't play. After a quick replacement from Amazon, we have one that works, but one of the notes in the music box is severely out of tune. I'm not a musical expert, but it really bothers me to listen to it! Lily loves the turtle, so we will keep it, but I wish I could have sampled several turtles to make sure the music box was in decent shape.

I bought this for my son, because I've been singing "you are my sunshine" to him since he was born. He loves to hear the music and the material is very soft. Well made, I pulled on the legs and bows and they were sewn securely. The eyes are sewn, not buttons.

I ordered the golfer outfit for my 22 month old son. I ordered the 2T-4T size, hoping it wouldn't be too big. Well, it barely fits him, it is too small. There is absolutely no "give" to the costume and no way he could wear anything underneath, main reason why I got the bigger size. My son has just started wearing 2T in regular clothing. The tights on the bottom are so narrow his foot won't fit in it. There is no way a toddler could fit in this costume.

I had read another review that the leggings were too tight and they were right! I couldn't fit my average size 2 year old son's feet all the way into the stockings and had to fold the material over in the shoe. After 3 wearings the stockings started to tear. The shoe covers shreded on the bottom after one wearing.

I purchased this for my toddler who wears a 3-4T. The costume was

very small. His feet would in no way EVER fit into the stockings.

I had to cut the feet out and sew them to make them look right.

The shirt is entirely too small. When he raised his arms it comes

all the way up his chest. You can't have clothing that runs 2-4T

because there is such a big difference in the sizes. I was very

disapointed.

My boy loves this toy. I had no idea how much fun is for babies to have toys with rings or other hanging things on them. This pyramid is the ultimate "ring" toy since the triangles are thick, have rubber spots on them and also make popping sound when rotated. At the bottom of the pyramid there is a mirror.

The toy is nicely made as all Lamaze toys... Highly recommended for the price....

My 5 month old son loves it. You can hang it from an activity mat and let your little one look at their reflection. Also good stimulation during tummy time & sitting practice. The plastic triangles click when they are moved which is a nice audible stimulation and the texture is good for chewing. There is also a rattle inside which makes a pleasant sound.

I thought my baby would love this toy, but it doesn't hold his interest for long. It's actually bigger than I was thinking it would be. I was intending to use it as a stroller or car seat toy, but it's just too bulky. He does like that the triangles clack when he moves them, and the mirror is fun, but I don't think there is enough to grab and chew for him, and it's hard for him to carry around with him as he crawls or stands. Not as fun as the other Lamaze toys overall, although well made and nice looking as they all are.

Jellycat Bashful Giraffe Medium

Bashful Giraffe is the third Jelly-Cat stuffed animal I've bought and I love them all. These super-soft, floppy critters are the perfect "first stuffed animal" for a new baby. They are quite light weight and their appendages make them easy for little hands to grab. The biggest plus is that they machine wash beautifully -very important when their owners drool and spit on them!

The stuffed animal is cute and soft and exactly as described and pictured. The only minor problem I had with it is the lack of neck on this stuffed animal. It is a giraffe after all! Versus the other stuffed JellyCat giraffes that have at least an inch or 2 of neck, with this one, the head sits right on the shoulders. When I bought it, I didn't even realize this until I got the package and realized something felt off. Other than that, I still like it.

We got this as a gift for our baby shower and when my daughter was old enough, we started placing it in the crib with her along with one or two other stuffed animals... this quickly became her absolute favorite stuffed animal. We didn't expect for her to love it so much!!! Ordered this for my newborn daughter as her go-to stuffed animal. My friends have the donkey Jellycat for their little boy and used it in month by month growth photos, which is what gave me the idea. Jelly cats have the softest fur and all of them are so cute.

Baby Parrot Infant Costume

1. The "infant" 6-12m size should definitely be labeled 12-24months. Even with clothes underneath, no child that fits in a 6-12m size would be long enough for this.

2. It says this has "non-skid soles". Each pant leg is completely open at the bottom so its only non-skid if your kid is wearing his own shoes.

3. The sleeves, if the costume was put on a child who actually fit in it, would be 3/4. It'll be fine for my baby but it's something to be aware of.

4. The underarm flaps are not as big as they seem in the picture.

5. The center yellow flap should be rounded and come to a point. Mine looks like the edge was cut with scissors making a strange angle.

I bought this (as others did) for my 5 month old to match my 2 year olds pirate Halloween costume. My 5 month old wears 9-12m clothes is about 18lbs and nearly 27in tall so I figured I would have to buy the larger size. HAH! I will definitely be cutting off the yellow bottom portion of this costume so he swims in it just a little less. It's actually a pretty easy cut to make sinced the bottom of the blue part and the very bottom (yellow) is exactly the same. I doubt anyone will notice I changed it.

For this amount of money I wasn't expecting it to be perfect. But an accurate description would've been nice.

For the cost of the item (I paid around $15) I was pleased. The quality isn't amazing, but you can't expect it to be. It was really cute on, though it did leave fuzzies everywhere.

I ordered this costume in size 6-12 mo. It fit my child who was 13 mo old quite nicely (approx 28" tall) It fit over a jogging suit easily, so there was no need to wear a jacket over the costume while outside, which was a plus. The costume was extremely cute, I recommend it!

50 Piece Jumbo Sized Wooden Alphabet Blocks

The blocks that we received did not live up to the title. We received 40 blocks instead of the 50 we ordered. Also, the product description lists the toy as: Kid-safe, water-based paint, non-toxicpaints...the blocks we received were made in China which leaves us a little unsettled on the safety for our child and nowhere on the product packaging does it repeat the safety claim listed on Amazon. If we had it to do over, we would have made a different purchase.

Trevor the Turtle

I work at a daycare program for toddlers and they have one in the classroom. It's a very good cushion and the inner stuffing doesn't become stiff or flat after wears and tears, and this is when the kids jump and tumble and flip it on hourly basis everyday. As an adult even me love sitting on it! The turtle cover can take off for washing and the color looks still great after many times. A little bit pricy, but very durable and colorful and cute!

This little puppy rattle is very cute and soft. Kind of "chubby" for little hands to hold, but none the less, I would recommend it. Mud Pie Baby Jeweled Tiara Bank

This is a cute bank but it is very small. I have it sitting on my daughter's hutch (on her dresser), but it looks too small and doesn't make much of a visual impact. Also one of the jewels was already missing when I received it. I wish I had seen this in person because I probably would have elected to purchase something else.

CoCaLo Baby Jacana Plush Monkey

I LOVE THIS MONKEY!!! In my home my dad has always wanted a monkey and it has become a family joke, so for my daughters 1st birthday he got her this monkey and she LOVES it! She can't sleep without it. If it is missing she goes around asking for it by making a monkey noise that she made up, it is super cute and durable, made it through the wash once already and still looks like brand new. I am so happy to see a monkey marketed towards little girls they are always for boys. I love her cute little pink flower in her hair and pink floral hand and foot pads. My daughter thinks it is funny when I hand the monkey by the cute curl in her tail. This has been a great addition to my daughters toys and I know will be around for a lifetime. Two thumbs up!

I couldn't resist this little plush monkey while looking for cribs at Babies'r'Us before my daughter was born. We bought it right then and there (and later set up her room to match the theme), and it has since become one of my daughter's favorite toys at 4 months old. My daughter likes to stare at her monkey during playtime (loves faces), and has also grabbed her and gnawed on her (baby's teething). The little monkey is none worse for the wear so far, which is a plus in our book. :)

Chicco Surprise Circus

This toy is good in theory but fails in practice. It's way to difficult for my baby to pop the train cars together, stack, or make the animals pop up. My 4yr old can do all these things with it but she is too old to care much. It's fine if you are actively playing with your baby/toddler, but it's no good for them to play with alone.

I bought this for my 1 year old daughter thinking she would like pulling a little train around and popping the different characters up and down in the little cars, and learning how to stack them up. It held her attention for a few minutes and then she was finished with it. It also feels cheaply made. Wish I had spent my money on something better.

Elmo's World "Let's Get Clean!" Mini Bath Book

Another time where I blame myself for not reading the fine print the book has fewer pages than I'd hoped but for an infant who really doesn't care, and just likes looking at Elmo, it was fine.

My son has the full set of Elmo bath books! He loves all of them, Let's Get Clean especially! The story is simple but it makes for good ad-lib! Plus he enjoys pointing at objects and having me tell him the story. We have owned them for about 1 month and no sign of mold on them either!

This was a great banner but a PAIN to untangle from the packaging. We spend about and hour trying to slowly untangle the mess that literally arrived in a bag all smushed together. The wire held fine but the cardboard tore really easily. It's very cute, but the packaging ruined it for me.

It works great and is indestructible, but make sure you like hearing "Three Blind Mice" because there is no "off" button and there is no volume button, so any time it gets put in the toy box or bumped or stepped on, you are stuck hearing whatever song it decides to play at the time. I got it for a car ride last Christmas for my 2-year old and my 3-year old. It entertained them for the car ride but they showed no interest in the toy since then. Probably a younger child would like it.

Mover Baby Walker Natural

We love the Moover. We purchased another walker first but it was too hard for our son to stay on his feet while pushing it. He was constantly falling forward because the walker moved too quickly. You can adjust the tension on the Moover's wheels so we could slow it down when he was first learning to walk. He's walking on his own now but he likes to use the Moover as a cart. It's proven to be durable. My son dropped a canned good on it from a few feet up and I expected to find a crack in the cart where it landed but the Moover held up. Other things we like: natural wood, sturdy construction, "bumpers" on the wheels (prevents scratches on walls/baseboards), and it's easy to assemble.

My title is "Cute not scary" because I know some children are startled easily by Jack-in-the-box type toys. This is mostly because of the loud noise they make when they POP up out of the box. My husband STILL winces when turning the crank on a jack-in-the-box due to past trauma (lol).

I was rather pleasantly surprised when we received ours to find that the noise made when the caterpillar pops up isn't loud at all. It's the quietest jack-in-the-box toy I've ever seen really. So it's good for small kids. I don't think it would frighten them like other loud ones might.

It plays the traditional song all of these play. Of course it is extremely cute too. It matches our baby's nursery theme which is why I purchased it.

Just a word of advice watch the price on this one. I noticed it tends to fluctuate between $15 all the way up to $24.99.

We love this toy. It is well made and very reminiscent of the caterpillar in the book (that was the main reason we got it... if it hadn't looked this great we'd have passed it by). almost all pull toys these days have strings that are way too short (laibility issues... sigh). we have several pull toys with too short strings. we just tie a longer string on and it works fine.

This classic Jack-in-the-Box is very well made. Gave it to my granddaughter for her first birthday and we all love it. The Hungry Caterpillar is one of her favorite books. I do find that she has little patience waiting for the music to get to the point where the caterpillar pops up so it might be better for a slightly older child. But she does love it.

My son got this as a gift for his 1st birthday. I'm a big fan of the Very Hungry Caterpillar and pull toys are classic, so I thought this would be great.

However I am disappointed with this toy. I didn't realize that each wooden segment of the body would rotate. There is elastic that runs through the body that allows it to do so. This makes it useless as a pull toy. If my son bumps it or it falls over or if he just plays with it it makes the body segments rotate into a position that doesn't allow it to roll along. It also falls over way too easily and then my son can't fix it. I think it would work much better if I glued the body together but that's one of those things I've been meaning to do and never got around to.

Yes, the string is too short. So it's not a strangulation hazard. It is however easy to add your own longer string. The short string has a break-away clip and I unclipped the part that the child holds. Then I threaded in a longer string and clipped it back onto the toy. Now that it is long enough to pull, my son is having fun with it this morning. He's now 22 months. Fun until it falls over and twists and he needs help to stand it up again.

So, this toy looks cute on a shelf, but it's not great to actually play with.
