Baby Einstein Music and Discovery Travel Mirror

Baby Einstein Music and Discovery Travel MirrorThis is an awesome product with lots of settings to choose from. It is probably one of the best purchases I have made for my little one besides the tiny love take along mobile.

I don't necessarily use it as it is intended, but it still does the job of entertaining my little guy and fulfills the tracking lights requirement I was looking for. We haven't had the opportunity to use it in the car as of yet since he is still in the hospital at seven months old now, but it still works. I use the strap to affix it to or over the hospital tv, this makes it even easier to set it up no matter which direction he is facing in his bed because of the swivel arm the tv is on. I love that we can set it for up to as long as 60 minutes of music. That way even if a nurse sets it she doesn't have to worry about it going off and needing to be reset every ten to fifteen minutes.

I noticed someone mentioned it is too loud. I thought that was just me being overly sensitive because of his situation. I quickly remedied that with a piece of cloth tape over the speaker.

All in all, it might not be for everyone. But I love that it has different settings and options. In my opinion that gives it more longevity and an opportunity to grow with him. Who knows it may become a staple just like the tiny love take along mobile and help us make the transition from the hospital to home.

I hope this helps someone else who might be in the same sort of situation we are in. I was discouraged at first when I couldnt' find a way to attach it to his crib and not be in the way of the doctors and nurses. I was so determined to use it that it finally occured to me. That has also helped me to look at all of the toys I browse through in a different light. I try to think of other uses or how they can be modified or adjusted to meet our needs.

I got this for my grandson to take in the car but it is so easy to use in so many places and I love that you can set the timefor it to play on 4 different settings!!!

I originally had the Fisher Price lights mirror, but the music and lights only lasted around 10 minutes and the remote only worked sporadically. That's when I decided to purchase this one. We LOVE it!

The timer can be set for up to 60 minutes, which is perfect for the trips I use it for.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it isn't designed to act as a mirror for the driver. It doesn't have any way to slant it so that you can see baby from the front. My husband was still able to rig it to work =) but it would be better if it had the verticle adjustment like other similiar mirrors.

This product plays the great Baby Einstein music that we all know. It does get really annoying in the car if you let it play past the 10 minute mark though.

The "button" on the bottom are deceiving though.. i thought they were interactive but they are just lights that flash back and forth for the baby to look at. The mirror has no buttons for the child.. just the on/off button on top for the parent (the sun).

The mirror attached easily to my back headrests in several positions easily and hasnt slipped off yet.

I set the mirror up in several locations and i still can't fully see my sons face in my rear view mirror without leaning forward toward my mirror. Even then i can just barely see his face in the corner of the Baby Einstein mirror. We have the Britax Marathon 70 and the side of the headrests block a great deal of vthe view when i turn around to see him, so this mirror does help with that.

Poor quality mirror and the music and lights are really loud and fast. I would recommend looking for another mirror.

Gund Baby Love Our Earth Organic Cotton Patch the Puppy Rattles (Pink)

Gund Baby Love Our Earth Organic Cotton Patch the Puppy RattlesGot the item and very disappointed. Not as cute as pictured. Item is somewhat flat, not as fluffy as pictured. It's almost like those flat fabric teether animals. Also, "Made in China" and the tag says "contents: 100% polyester." Maybe just the cover is organic but it does not say that on the tag at all. What am I to believe? Looks and feels cheap in real life. I wouldn't buy this if I were you. I'd send it back except I live in Hawaii and the shipping would negate the refund. :<

I've changed my rating up by one star. After washing, the toy fluffed up and feels better. Still not as cute and fluffy as pictured but a lot better than originally received. My baby seems to like it and that's the main thing I suppose.

Kelsyus Go With Me Chair

Kelsyus Go With Me Chair, Brown/PinkI plan to use this chair for our granddaughter when she camps with us. As she is only 15 months old, this chair should fit for years. The carrying case was not sown properly, but can be easily fixed. The problem is not worth returning it.

Wish we had got this a year ago! Much of the neat stuff is first year. Still is a great piece of baby gear for a couple of more years.

Dr. Suess Cat in the Hat Child Accessory Kit

Dr. Suess Cat in the Hat Child Accessory KitI purchased this for Dr. Seuss day at my son's school. The cat in the hat is his favorite character and he was thrilled when he saw this. The only problem I had is with the hat standing up well. We fixed that issue by putting two small air bags into the top of the hat (they came with a book shipment) and it was perfect. Even without that it still would have worked fine.

Manhattan Toy Call Me Smart Phone

Manhattan Toy Call Me Smart PhoneI bought this for my grandson and he loves it. The only downfall I see with the product is that the numbers are hard to push. Love the mirror as my grandson is 5 1/2 months old and loves seeing himself. The softness of the product is what sold me.

My grandson likes the rattle, crinkle, and phone sounds of this toy. It is just right for him to hold in his hand. It is not too heavy.

Evenflo Splash Mega Exersaucer

Evenflo Splash Mega ExersaucerPROS: Reasonably priced, doesn't require batteries, higher weight limit than most jumpers, interesting toys that can snap out and be exchanged.

CONS: Springs in the legs sometimes snap out of place (easy to fix, but annoying), no 'kickstand' to stop the Exersaucer from wobbling around

BEST USE: Around 6 months in age

4 MONTHS: We bought this when our son was 4 months old, it took him another month to really grow into it. Had it come with some stoppers (old school exersaucers used to have them) it could have stayed still and been less scary, though he adjusted quickly.

6 MONTHS: Ideal age, able to interact with toys, but because child is not really mobile wouldn't object much to hanging out and playing. Would play for 30 minute clips easily.

8 MONTHS: Nearly obsolete. While my son was still within the weight limit, he really didn't like to sit still. He might hang in there for 5-10 minutes, but no longer.

12 MONTHS: Gave it away.

RECOMMENDATION: Worth the investment. It provided a safe, entertaining place for my son to play if I had to run to the bathroom or couldn't closely monitor his playtime because I was preparing dinner or answering the phone. My son loved jumping up and down in it and it was his favorite toy for a while. Once he started standing and walking, he didn't want to be restricted and would fight me as I'd try to put him into the walker (however, he liked to stand and play with it I used it as a blockade between a wall and sofa).

This is one of my 4 1/2-month-old twins playing in the exersaucer. I show the toys that come with it and how they snap in and out, and a chewy fishie that doesn't come with it but you can order on Amazon as well. I also show how well my son fits into it (he is 25" long), as well as give my opinion on how the exersaucer is holding up. Please pay no attention to the dirty diapers in the background, I have two teething twins and a husband on deployment :)

Buy Evenflo Splash Mega Exersaucer Now

The good: My 6 month old baby boy loves to rock out in here. I'm very glad I didn't get one with MORE "bells and whistles" because the stuff on this one is plenty, in fact i don't even use all the attachments at once because he gets overwhelmed. I can't imagine the overload from one of the crazy ones that costs more. This thing is plenty entertaining and it totally wears him out.

The bad: At 6 months old and only 70 percentile in height, he is (according to the instructions) already supposed to be on the highest height setting so that he's on tippytoe not flat footed. So that seems rediculous, he would outgrow on height almost immediately. Also, because he's still pretty lightweight it seems top-heavy if I put it on the highest setting AND it also seems uncomfortable because then he is "hanging" from his hips too much and not actually practicing standing -so actually i put it on the middle setting and just sit right next to it and watch very very carefully to avoid any chance of him accidental flipping it. (He can definitely really get it rocking and rolling!)

My mother in law continually told me I needed some kind of Exersaucer or jumper or walker for our baby. I resisted because something about giant plastic toys that claim to help develop your child physically makes me uneasy and smacks of commercialism. The little toys all around the Exersaucer looked so overwhelming to me that I thought they'd cause ADHD. I finally bought this, though, to give my MIL a 'win' since I have a very different parenting ethos, and after some moms I respected mentioned how much their kids loved their Exersaucers.

I must admit, my daughter LOVES this toy. She's a large baby and is having trouble rolling over even now at 6 months old despite tons of floor time and 'exercise'. We bought this around 4.5 months, and I think the Exersaucer gave her a taste of physical freedom that she hasn't been able to enjoy on the floor, and reinvigorated her sense of excitement about using her body. She is very good at standing up and bouncing, even if she can't roll yet. She smiles for joy every time we put her in, and mischievously bounces to her hearts content. She loves the little doo-dads all around the edges and turns and reaches for them. I've seen her really start thriving physically since buying this. The first time we put her in she only lasted 5 minutes, and rarely lasts more than 15-20, but she really loves every minute she's in there.

It's huge and takes up tons of space in our little condo, but it is worth it. I am a hippie mom, and an Exersaucer convert. Let your child have this guilty pleasure if you're like me and on the fence!

We got this for our youngest grandchild so he could be a part of all the activity when they come to visit. Our kids have a similar exersaucer at home that he uses it is just too much to tote back and forth. This has some differnet options it can spin around and rock even the 3 year old wanted a part of it. It was a great success the activiites keep little John busy so even at 7 nmonths he can be a part of it all.

Taggies Soft Baby Doll By Mary Meyer

Taggies Soft Baby Doll By Mary MeyerI bought this toy for my 7 mo old granddaughter. She loves it. But the material on the arm at the wrist started raveling/running. It is so new it doesn't even have a stain on it. I gave it to her for Easter this year. I tried to mend the 1/4" hole and noticed that the material is coming apart all around the arm. This is why I gave it two stars. It is very cute and a great toy for a little one where you have to be careful of parts coming off. After mending it I gave it back to her and her eyes lit up and she grinned real big and grabbed it. So you can see it was a hit. But I am upset at it just coming apart.

My grandaugther (11 months) loves to grab and chew on things. The makers of Taggies know their customers! This was the perfect gift. I read the reviews on this site and agree. My grandaughter takes this doll to bed with her every night. What more could you ask from a gift?

Haba Salto Clutching toy

Haba Salto Clutching toyI wanted to get some wooden toys for my 3-month old daughter instead of the standard plastic ones, mainly to avoid the whole BPA issue. We didn't want to spend a lot of money on them but did want quality. This toy, while being slightly more expensive than others, is a great investment. My daughter clutches the sides and gnaws on the round ring, while the little colorful wooden parts are fun for her to watch. It's her favorite toy (if a 3-month old has favorites). It's exactly as it appears in the picture. The wooden stick in the middle seems sturdy and doesn't appear to have any "give" in it -I worried it might break easily, but it has withstood my older two playing with it. A great investment!

A fun rattle, the little color "tubes" dangle and are very shakable and fun.

Buy Haba Salto Clutching toy Now

Our 8-month old daughter finally figured out how to rotate the central colored bars and put them in her mouth. She likes this toy, but not as much as Trinello or Kringelring.

Read Best Reviews of Haba Salto Clutching toy Here

Our little one liked this rattle when she was teething, and she liked to wave the beads around. We also received as gifts the Moby clutching toy and the Haba rattle with colored "beads" -that one was probably the best in catching her eye with color and movement and sound, and she liked chomping on that one as well as this one. (Thank you, friends + family, for the generous gifts!) This one got play as a stroller toy clipped to plastic rings too, and that was a good distraction. All in all, Haba toys are fantastic and very nice to have.

Want Haba Salto Clutching toy Discount?

My baby LOVED this rattle, it was his favorite toy for a long time. Yesterday he threw it on our wood floors and the ring literally shattered, leaving all the little bars on the floor. I frequently let him play with this toy alone so I'm glad I happened to be standing near him when this toy broke because those bars are basically the definition of a choking hazard. I know better than to run wood toys through a dishwasher (I don't even have a dishwasher and to be honest I'm too lazy to wash all of his toys by hand plus germs build up immunity, am i right?) so I only have Haba to blame. I also purchased the caterpillar and noticed a hairline fracture in the ring of that as well, not as dangerous since it could only pinch him, but I'm still extremely disappointed in both products.

Rubie's Costume Infant Noah Ark Collection Oatmeal Bear Jumpsuit

Rubie's Costume Infant Noah Ark Collection Oatmeal Bear Jumpsuit, Brown/Beige, 12-18 MonthsI bought this for my son last year and loved it! The side blanket is cheap looking but the rest of the costume is adorable and wasn't uncomfortable or annoying for him. However, this costume is $14.00 even online at Walmart?? Not sure how Amazon let that slip.

Got this for our 6 month old daughter's first Halloween in the 6-12 months sizing. She is a really big girl (28 inches and 18lbs) so she is currently in 9 and 12 month clothing. This costume JUST fit her and if she had been any bigger it would probably have been too small thru the chest and in the arms. I would say if your child is any bigger than she is make sure to order the next size up or it probably won't be comfortable. Cute outfit, well made and easy to get on and off. I wish it had covers for the hands since her little hands got cold on Halloween but otherwise it is a great outfit.

Buy Rubie's Costume Infant Noah Ark Collection Oatmeal Bear Jumpsuit Now

I bought this for my 6 month old son who's in the 50th percentile for weight, he wears a 9-12 month size in all his clothing so I bought him the 6-12 month size in this costume....the body portion is WAY too big, but the head piece is WAY too small. My son's head is in the 40th percentile, and I can't even get the chin straps all the way around. I'm not sure if I just got a defect, but just out of curiosity I put the head piece on his twin sister (who's head is much smaller), and it was really tight on her. Too bad because it's really cute, material seems soft enough etc... but it just doesn't fit right. I don't believe this would fit on ANY 12 month old if I can't even get it on my 6 month old.

This costume is super cute, but I chose to order it from wal-mart for $10 less. Normally I buy everything from Amazon, not this time though.

Want Rubie's Costume Infant Noah Ark Collection Oatmeal Bear Jumpsuit Discount?

My 10-month old son wore this for his Halloween costume. It was adorable, and we got many compliments. I was hoping the tummy would be stuffed, but it wasn't, however it was still cute. We didn't use the blanket that came with it--not really sure why it's part of the costume. My son seemed very comfortable in it, and we liked that the bottom had snaps at the legs so we could change his diaper easily. He started to chew on the part of the hat that was near his mouth, so I unbuttoned the top snap and he stopped. I wouldn't recommend this costume if your child is walking because the feet don't come off and I imagine it would be hard to get shoes on. It was in the 60s outside during Halloween, so we just had him in a onesie and socks underneath. The instructions say to hand wash, but I threw it in the washing machine on gentle cycle and it was fine. I let it air dry, though.

Hape Eco Toys / Jungle Music Baby Instrument Set

Hape Eco Toys / Jungle Music Baby Instrument SetThis toy is extremely well made, I can't stress that enough. The paint is bright and very inviting too. The actual toys, well.... they are simple, but at least for my daughter and her older cousin (8months and 3yrs old), just not engaging enough to hold thier interest for long, but it might work well for your child. I really try hard to find the balance between electronic toys and basic, imaginative toys like this, but for us, it just didn't fit the bill. My nephew played with it for a few minutes and then moved on. When I asked him why he stopped playing, he said it didn't make ..."the fun kind of sounds he wanted it to." Both children have other wooden toys that keep them interested. It's a shame because I really loved the look and quality of this toy, but since neither child seemed to have much fun with it, I took it back. I'm now on the hunt for better wooden musical instruments. My 3 star rating is more for the quality of the product than the play value my daughter and nephew experienced while playing with it.

*BTW, this toy can be found for less than $13 at regular price at BRU OR TRU, which beats Amazon's price by a good few dollars.

This toy is well-constructed. I thought my one-year-old would have a blast making music with it, but it is her nearly 3-year-old sister that ran away with it! Mostly with the ribbed part and the little drumsticks and they're used in her kitchen as well.

Little Driver

Little DriverI am so dissapointed as we purchased this for my 15 month old for a car trip. The first one had a button that wouldn't work despite putting in new batteries and since it was the song button and that was why we bought the thing I sent it back and ordered a new one. The second one that we recieved didn't work at all except for the one blinker light that would stay on when we tried new battereis.

So a cool toy if the stinkin' thing would work at all. My son was instantly interested in it and wanted to play, but alas no new little driver toy for him. I don't feel like dealing with strike three.

Thank God it's easy to return items from AMAZON.

When I received this toy in the mail it didn't work. It must have been broken before or during shipping! There were no sounds at all. I tried 3 different sets of batteries besides the ones it came with it didn't work at all!

Thank goodness I tried it, as this was to be a Christmas present. After sending this broken toy back, I found the exact same thing at Walgreens for $6.99!!!! The Amazon price was way too high at $19.95.

So... I debated ordering this for my 2 year old nephew, but we typically don't spend very much at Christmas since it's about more than that. Playskool Press-n-Pop Shapes

Playskool Press-n-Pop ShapesI got this toy for my daughter when she was 6 months (now 9 months) after I was disgusted with the loud, electronic bleeps and bloops of the other toys on the market. She LOVES this toy -it is by far her favorite. When she was younger, she loved to chew on the fabric tags on the top of the center pop-up. Now, she loves to hit the buttons and activate the "machinery." She also has a lot of fun with the little "people" that come with it. They make a nice rattling sound (in fact, they each make a slightly different rattling sound -a nice detail) and are fun to play with (and chew on!) on their own. My only complaint with this toy is that it is fairly easy for the baby to tip it over -they grab the top of the red pop-up in the middle and pull, and over it turns. I'm not sure how this could be fixed, though, and it's not a huge deal -it doesn't fall ON the baby or anything. It is also EXTREMELY durable. And the best part of all -it requires ZERO batteries!!! THANK YOU, Playskool, for making toys that DON'T light up, DON'T need batteries, and DON'T play Mozart, Beethoven, or Bach!! (I'm so seriously sick of listening to Mozart played out of some lousy baby toy speaker...)

My baby loves this toy! We just got it home and she can't stay away from it. She laughs non stop...what fun! Seems to be really good quality, too.

Buy Playskool Press-n-Pop Shapes Now

So many of the toys marketed as "cause and effect" learning toys don't really work for most babies. For example, the "ball popper" type tops are usually a little tall for a baby on his belly or crawling (or sitting for that matter) to reach the mechanism to make it go. Even if they could reach it, it is too hard to push down for someone that small. With some toys, the "effect" happens too far away from the cause, or too long after the cause, for baby to make the connection that THEY did THAT.

This toy has it all! It sits low enough to the ground that a baby can use it on their belly. The happy shape faces on the front pieces invite interaction. They are VERY easy to press, making the suprises in the back pop up immediately. The suprises are also easy enough to push back down that my baby could do it at 6 months of age.

The little shape faces also come out of there seats and are terrific rattles. I did not realize this when I puchased it, but it is a great extra. They are the right size for baby's hands, they are light weight, and they make just the right amount of "rattle" sound. Now, at 8 months, baby likes to bang them together to make multiple percussion sounds at once.

ALSO, the shapes and colors match for the little faces up front and their places, and also for the suprises that pop up behind. There are aspects of color and shape matching being provided in a low key, intuitive way.

I will have to admit that I buy A LOT of toys . . . and I rarely write reviews. Most toys are "fine" but usually disappointing on some level or another. This one is different! I highly recommend it.

Read Best Reviews of Playskool Press-n-Pop Shapes Here

My eight-month-old granddaughter has been enthralled with this toy for the past month. She has learned how to pop out the shapes and then plays with them or gums them. She's only beginning to see how to get them back into place, and that may take some time so the toy may be a favorite for months to come. The toy has many possibilities for color and shape recognition as well as separate play with the removable shapes. The toy teaches cause and effect without the use of batteries: what a relief. An all-time favorite among many toys.

John Deere Sit-N-Scoot Activity Tractor

John Deere Sit-N-Scoot Activity TractorMy son got this as a gift on his first birthday. For months he pushed it around the house and played with the animals inside the seat. After a while, the animals went in the toy bin with all the other figurines we have, but he continued to "hide" other things in the seat. He also started to ride the toy in the house.

The next summer (he was nearly 2) we took the toy outside to use as a riding toy. He loves it! Since he doesn't know how to pedal a real bike yet, this was perfect for him to race around on.

He still uses the toy and he is nearly 2 and 1/2. He loves the horn and he is still small enough to be able to push himself around quickly. I would recommend this ride on toy to anyone looking for a good, durable toy for inside or outside use.

It was the most popular gift on his first birthday. He loved pushing it, sitting on it and moving the small animal figures. Lots of different kinds of fun for him.

I ordered this for my son's first birthday. We brought it to the party so he could use it to walk around since he's not fully walking on his own yet. It worked very well and now he uses it around the house. He loves the animals that come with it and the start up tractor sound. The only assembly is the seat back, which you just have to slide into the slots so easy! I would definitely recommend this for pre-walkers. We'll see if he likes to scoot on it as he gets a bit older. UPDATE: The sound/music died within a few months. We thought it was the batteries so we replaced those with brand new batteries and nothing. It seems like it just shorted out. My husband (who is all things electronic) took it apart and couldn't figure out what happened to it. This is actually the second John Deere product we've gotten first one was a tractor flashlight that would make the sound of a tractor starting up...the same thing happened with both products. I'm beginning to wonder if this might be some type of defect with John Deere toys. My son still keeps pushing the button to make the tractor sound and say's "Dada, fix it." It's a fun concept, but overall I'm disappointed with the quality.
