Learning Curve Bob the Builder - 12 in. Soft & Cuddly Nightlight

I bought this doll for my one and a half year old who has discovered Bob the Builder recently. It is the only stuffed Bob I could find and my little guy really likes it. Bob carries a flashlight that is easy to operate even for a toddler, all he has to do is squeeze the sides of the flashlight to make it come on. He likes the soft orange glow of the light and the doll is just the right size for little ones. The only thing I dislike about the light is that it does not have a switch, once you let go of the sides of the flashlight the light goes out. Also, the batteries cannot be replaced once they die, there is no way to get to the batteries without cutting the fabric of the flashlight open(unless there is a trick to it that I haven't figured out yet).

Nonetheless, my son likes his stuffed Bob and takes it out with him quite often.

This toy is absolutely adorable but the name is misleading! He is so cute and soft and has a working flashlight. However, it is called a nightlight but it isn't! You have to be squeezing the flashlight for it to be on. Bought this hoping it would get my son to sleep in his own bed thinking it would light up but it isn't like that at all. It is a great toy but absolutely not a nightlight in any way. Just because it has a light doesnn't make it a NIGHTlight.

My 2 1/2 year old son flipped when he opened this for Christmas! He sleeps with Bob every night and loves that the light is easy enough for him to do by himselfno buttons to mess with, just a gentle squeeze and it lights up. He carries Bob with him everywhere! This was definitely money well spent.

It is a very cute doll my two year old hasn't really taken to yet but I think he will eventually and he does keep him in his crib. I purchased it in June 2007 and gave it to my son as a Birthday gift in August. The flashlight died in about a month's time, give or take. There is no obvious or visible way to replace batteries?? I am also a little worried about the stiching behind Bob's neck as it is not very tightly stiched. I just contacted Ty's Toy Box and am hoping for a response regarding the flashlight...

PlanToys Build a Robot

I gave this to my nephew for Christmas 2011. He was only 2 1/2 at the time, as apparently I didn't realize it was for age 3 years & up, but nevertheless he REALLY loved it. You can remove and change the head and legs. The doll's torso has 2 "socket" positions for the legs: either underneath, so the robot can be standing up, or on the front of the torso, so he is sitting down. The set includes a total of 4 different heads: a round sphere shape, a round cylinder shape, a triangle head, and a rectangle/block shaped head, with little grooves for -hair? Super cute. Each head has a different facial expression, which was fun to talk to him about (like, "Oh, THIS robot looks angry!" or "which one should we put on for the happy robot?") I think he felt proud to have his own little thing (kind of an alternative version of a "doll") that he gets to decide when to change around the parts. He just had fun putting the pieces on, carrying it around, taking the pieces off... and, at least on Christmas, he kept repeating, for a couple hours, "MY Robot! Look! It's my Robot!"

The only thing at the time that was a little bit difficult for him was putting the legs in, especially in the sitting-robot position, since it was a different angle of assembling it compared with the relative ease of putting the head(s) on the top of the torso. It might be easier now for him, now that he actually is a little bit older. There are multiple pieces that end up kind of laying around: there are the extra heads, loose, when you have your Robot "built," so a little drawstring bag or big gallon-size Ziploc freezer bag might be a good thing to have on hand for when the child is not playing with it, so you don't loose the parts.

I think the Build-A-Robot is a great toy for a child from about age 3 to maybe 6 or so. The older ones can use it for imaginary play, kind of like a doll or figure. He would also look awfully cute sitting on the dresser or bookshelf while he's waiting to be played with! So I guess he can be both a toy AND a decoration, especially in a Robotor space-themed room.

My biggest complaint with this product is that if you buy it from this seller, you're paying 10 bucks more than if you buy it from Amazon.

Regarding the product itself, it's very cute. We have a LOT of other Plan toys, but this item doesn't stand up well at all. The threading is carved out of the wood itself, and it easily falls apart. So the legs didn't screw in after a short time of use. At least for us. We have an 18-month-old and a 4-yr old.

Gund Baby Nighty Night Musical Toy

We have now bought two of these little bears, to have one as a back-up. My little girl can't sleep without it. She has accidently hit herself in the face once with the wind up part, but other than that it has been great. It's small enough for her to carry around everywhere without dragging it on the ground, and the music part has lulled her to sleep on many occasions when we did not have a mobile or CD player, like in hotel rooms. She loves it, but it is hard to wash, so that's why we have two. You have to hand wash it and wait for it to air dry, and that does not sit well with our 1 year old little princess. :-)

Item was even better than it was described. Very happy with the purchased as well as the how fast the items was sent.

My baby loves the toys. She likes all of the different sounds and motions the bee makes.

I think the suction is awful. I can apply it to the high chair and within minutes, the suction is gone and it is moving all over the tray. I even tried applying it with water but that didn't help either.

The bee does not stay in the holder, either which is good and bad. It is good because my baby can take it out to play with but bad because she can drop it in the floor.

My son is almost 7 months old and seems to like playing with this a lot but it doesn't stay in the suction base very well. It is great that it is removable, so he can play with it without the base but it comes out a little too easily which makes it frustrating when the whole point of the suction cup is so the baby's toy doesn't fall out of their hand (or get thrown across the room) and you have to chase after it. The suction base stayed great to the high chair tray and to the flat surface on his jumperoo but the bee just won't stay in his little suction hive!

Another lemon! As I took it out of the box the "bells and whistles" started going off (good sign) but while taking it off the packaging, the darn thing broke! My hands are not that strong (arthritis) so if inadvertedly pressing too hard broke it, I can't imagine how it could survive a toddler.

VTech - Paint and Learn Art Easel

My son received this toy for his first birthday. We set it up and were shocked at the poor quality. The easel is very, very short (even though it has two height adjustments). It also tips over fairly easily. It wouldn't tip over so easily if the string that attaches the "paint brush" to the easel was a little longer. The string is so short that it's nearly impossible to maneuver the paintbrush and touch the colors and shapes. Once we were finally able to do so, we were very disappointed when we discovered that something else was wrong. When we touched the paintbrush to the number 2 it would say 3, and when we touched it to the green it would say yellow. It's a major problem when an educational toy is teaching your child the wrong thing, so we returned it. I recommend you spend your money on something else.

The picture given is the amazon page is slightly different from how it looks actually. I think this is due to Vtech constantly improving their toys. My one year old got this as a gift. She loves it. she keeps spinning the spinner and plays with the pen a lot.

Also this toy has a lot of potential to carry the interest up to 3 or 4 years. It has music and lights, piano, 1 learning card. One side teaches numbers, the other side teaches letters. When you do not use the card, it has shapes by default. My daughter has not explored even 50% of this toy. So she is going to have even more fun playing and learning with it in the coming months..

Last thing to add, it works perfectly (unlike what other reviewer said). It does not tip over easily unless you push it down.

My then 9 month old got this toy for Christmas. I had to have this for her because it looked like so much fun. I admit that I expected a little more from this toy, but I still really like it. It is set up like an easel, and has an interactive page that "clips" onto the easel. It teaches letters A-E, colors, etc.

There is a "paintbrush" that is used for touching the different colors, etc. to hear the talking and singing based on that particular item. It is a cute toy. I wish my baby liked it a little more, though. It does seem to be a durable toy, as she likes to bang the paintbrush against the easel repeatedly, especially when mad. I do like this toy, the only thing I wish it had is more letters and numbers to learn. I also bought this for a cousin, and plan to buy one for my nephew, so I do recommend it!

I have not had the same issues as the other reviewer of this product. My son is 17 months and seems to like this toy quite a bit. He is not able to interchange the easle pages on his own yet though. He also quickly learned that you don't need to use the wand to make the toy work.

The animals used to represent the ABC's are strange in my opinion. For "A" they use Ant, "C"caterpillar, "D" dragonfly. The only animal my son recognizes is the "B"Bee. I think Cat and Dog would be more appropriate for this age group. Nonetheless, this toy been a source of entertainment for my son. If you can find it on sale, I would recommend this toy.

My First Airplane - Toy

I looked long and hard for my son's first toy airplane and this one was perfect! Wood toys are so much more durable than the plastic ones. He loves it and puts his fingers through the window holes to fly it around. My only complaint was that the shipping cost as much as the product !!!

Chicco Walker

I started letting my son play in this walker when he was about 4 months old. He would lean forward because he was still needing support to sit upright, so I started rolling up a towel or blanket and putting it between his chest and the walker. Let me tell you, he just loved it from the moment we put him in! He would just laugh and laugh and push off with his feet like crazy.

I think we ejoy watching him in it more than him. I love the brake pads feature which prevent the walker from going over any changes in flooring, like stairs or a door jam. I actually took them off, as our house is only one story, and I am always near to him while he is in it.

THe little piano tray is excellent, and has such a variety of sounds and songs that he can make. THey are not too annoying or shrill sounding, either, like so many childrens toys.

It was not too hard to put together, although i did need to follow the manual pretty closely, as I could not figure out the pieces on my own. I think it probably took about 20 minutes to get all set up.

I like that the music tray is removeable, so it can become a tray for little toys or even snacks later on.

I wold highly recommend this toy, as my son seems to like it very much

I bought this walker for my son when he was 6 months old. At the time he weighed 23 pounds. I was so excited to get him standing as he is one independent little man. When the walker showed up we assembled it but I immediately noticed the seat appeared a bit small. I set him in there with high hopes that he would fit. Sadly he did not. His chubby little legs barley fit through the holes. I left him in there for just a few minutes to see if maybe the material would stretch but my son just wanted out. When I took him out he had dark red marks on his thighs. I tried to make the leg holes bigger by cutting the sides of the material and adding elastic but that didn't help as the rest of the seat is all small. Since Iv'e altered the seat I cant return it. So parents who have bigger chubby babies. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!

Although he liked it at first, my 7-month old son cries when I put him in this. I can see why...the position of the seat is such that his stomach is holding all his weight. It's hard to explain, but the seat goes really far forward. Another reviewer commented on this as well. Also, the rear wheels are fixed, meaning he can't get himself out of corners at all. So I put him on a straightaway portion of our floor. He cruises to the other side, bumps into something, I have to go turn him around. It is a very parent-involved activity, which is not he reason I bought it. The music is loud and not very pleasant. I would return it if I had the patience to disassemble and ship back. Also, I'm not sure if other walkers are any better.

UPDATE: I like this a little better now, but not enough to change my rating. My son no longer protests when I put him in it (at 9.5 mos), and is getting slightly more skilled at getting himself out of corners. And it occurred to me that maybe it has to be designed so the child leans forward at least a little to be able to get traction enough to walk (but I still think the seat angle is excessive).

I ordered this when our son was 5 months old and he immediately loved it. He is now 7 months old and still as interested as ever. He can back up and maneuver all over the place where there is hard floors. He really enjoys the independence. The toy tray comes out for cleaning, and the sounds aren't overly obnoxious. Sassy Earth Brights Wooden Happy Caterpillar Toy

I bought this toy for my 7 month old daughter. She really enjoyed playing/sucking with the bow tags. However, less than a month after having the toy, the stitching on the head of the caterpillar came apart and my daughter could have easily taken the stuffing out. I'm very disappointed with this product. Just shows that we as parents and caregivers need to regularly inspect the toys that our little ones play with.

I have contacted Sassy about this and I'm hoping that they will resolve the situation.

My four month-old loves this caterpillar! The combination of different fabrics and wood makes it a tactile delight. It must also be pretty tasty! I love that is mostly made of natural materials. The head squeaks and the "tail" make crinkly plastic bag noises when touched. All parts are securely attatched. To clean I wash it in the sink with a little dishsoap and warm water. I rinse it well and hang it over a chair to dry overnight. We own several other toys in this collection and I really like them all and my son is starting to know that he can explore more!
