the snap blocks that I ordered were a lot larger than the ones I have now. I wanted them to add to the set I have. There was no description of size, etc. Also, there were only 12 blocks. THAT wasn't listed either. I wouldn't have ordered these if I had know these two facts.BlackSheep should be ashamed of themselves for selling at this price which is 4x more than everyone else's. Please check alternate listings...Its the best toy for such an unbeatable price, when I got it last year for my baby who is now 2 she had a blast. they can safely put them in their mouth, just watch out for the tips that snap together. Haba Jonathan the Rattling Caterpillar
Buy Haba Jonathan the Rattling Caterpillar Now
I love that this toy is made w/ non-toxic paint. It's very cute and I'm sure will be very durable. The string that holds it all together is elastic...so when you pull on the ring on the bottom, the little pieces click & clack together. The red loop on the top looks like it will be able to stretch and attach to anything (car seat, stroller, etc.) Nothing fancy just a simple, cute toy.Read Best Reviews of Haba Jonathan the Rattling Caterpillar Here
This is a petite toy. Perfect for little hands to grasp and manipulate. The colors are vivid and attention grabbing. My little one likes to gnaw the ring. The loop at the top can be attached to whatever baby is in so it doesn't fall on the floor. The cord is elastic, so pulling on it is also a bit of fun as it gives and takes. Every piece is movable and shaking it will result in a clacking noise that isn't loud, but does let baby know that shaking gets results. This is one of my new favorites! I bought the green toy clip to clip it to my son's car seat. The colors are vibrant, and the sounds the wooden pieces make when it's yanked on are pleasant. Everybody stops to admire it and asks where we bought it. It clips anywhere so it's secure and we don't have to worry about losing our precious Haba toy!Saturday, June 28, 2014
Bright Starts Start Your Senses Play A Tune Piano Toy
Buy Bright Starts Start Your Senses Play A Tune Piano Toy Now
"We" have gone on a baby toy buying binge lately, and this Bright Starts toy is "our" latest purchase. Mrs. Spudman picked this up for about six dollars at WalMart, but the price here on Amazon fluctuates so just keep revisiting the page.I think this is a nice, worthwhile toy with its five melodies, easy to push buttons, rattle with tiny, colorful balls, and two sliding rings on the handle. Of note is that the handle and rings are made of a softer plastic than the toy's body, with enough give to make teething or chewing safe.
There's now on or off button, and no volume control. For a toy in this price range with such pleasant sounding melodies, the lack of such controls is a non issue.
You may be shocked to learn that this Bright Stars toy was manufactured in China.
NOTE The careful reader may have noticed that the Amazon listing states three tunes, and I wrote five. This isn't a mistake. Our toy plays five and it has the same bar code number as shown here.

I bought this for my son at about 6 weeks, but who is now 3 months old and loves this toy. He loves the lights and the rattle sound makes him giggle. My only complaint is that the music is REALLY short, so you have to press it like every 10 seconds to keep him engaged. I got another musical toy that is better for longer distraction. If you're sitting and playing with your baby, this is a great one though, and it's easy to show him how to hit the piano keys to make the music play. Overall a great purchase for the price.Want Bright Starts Start Your Senses Play A Tune Piano Toy Discount?
Only in the very loosest sense is this a "piano toy". The three keys are all connected, making one big key, and the two "sharp/flat keys" aren't keys at all--they're they "light-up" part and are fixed in place. The worthwhile part of this toy is the spinner on top, which is fun for the very young, but it's also easy to find similar spinners on better toys. The handle is a nice touch, but the size of the toy makes it hard for infants to hold. And when they're able to hold it and move around (young toddlers love carrying toys with them, just because they can), the toy itself has long since ceased to be interesting.
The other good thing about this toy is that it isn't too loud. I wish there were more positive things about this toy. It's a cute idea and ven the very young would love the cause and effect learning of being able to press separate keys to make different tones (or, at least, activate a different song for each key).
Bottom line: Skip it. There are better spinners (Bright Starts Grab and Spin Rattle, for instance) and better smallish musical toys (Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes, for instance) for young and old babies alike.

Sesame Street Elmo Bath Toy Organizer
Buy Sesame Street Elmo Bath Toy Organizer Now
I bought this for my Elmo fan, and thought it would be great for draining since it was mesh. However, depending on the amount of toys you plan on storing, its not a good idea. The picture is pretty accurate. If you fill the bag more than half, its too heavy for the strings attached to the suction cups. Our bag is in the garbage.Read Best Reviews of Sesame Street Elmo Bath Toy Organizer Here
I ignored the reviews that said this item didn't stick and I wish I hadn't. I thought I could use alcohol on the suction cups and they would work as I have done with other suction cups. Nothing works its ridiculous. This would be really cute if there was any hope of it sticking but sadly it was a total waste of money. Very disappointed.Great help in the bath tub and Elmo is my granddaughter's favorite Sesame Character. The bag helps keep the tub area clean while still providing a fun bag. My granddaughter is also learning how to put her play toys back when it is cleanup time.Tuesday, June 10, 2014

Boikido Wooden Musical Set
These things do not make music. You are better off buying each instrument separately from somewhere else. Save your money. this is junk.We love the instruments & the colors are so fun! Have to wait on a couple of them though because my 1 yr. old puts them in his mouth & they're still a little too small for him to do that. Overall we love the product though!
Buy Boikido Wooden Musical Set Now
I bought this for my baby's one-year birthday, as she LOVES music/musical stuff. Mainly what sold me was the thought of having a wood xylophone, thinking the sound would be softer/more natural (and less annoying) than the usual metal ones found in every other nursery. However, these didn't have the "natural" sound I was hoping for and neither was much, if any, softer in pitch than the cheap metal ones. Furthermore, they didn't even sound the notes right. I had worried that only having four keys wasn't enough, but I couldn't have known that some made the exact sound. (I might as well have a couple scrap pieces from 2x4's to use.) So while this set looks appealing for the reason of varity, it really doesn't offer it. Case in point, read on:The flute essencially doesn't work, and there's no way to get more than one note to come out of it. The tambourine is okay, but really is no drum. The little shaker is probably the best item out of the bunch, but I've seen much better ones and is not worth buying.
While my kids did take a big interest in it all, I think it was a rip off. I would have returned if I'd saved all the original packaging. I ended up trying to sell it in a garage sale for ten bucks but had no takers even remotely close, despite the fact that it was only two weeks old and just very gently used. So, I still have it for now, but I'm planning to replace it with something else.
(I'd love a recommendation if anybody cares to comment. Thanks in advance.)

BRIO Magnetic Stacking Train
As an adult, I find myself enjoying fiddling with the train, but mildly irritating that there is no way to predict how the symmetrical blocks will fit together. I actually enjoy the non-magnetic Haba Fantasy blocks I got for my son better.
It seems like a high quality product.
I Might recommend the train for:
1. An older child who may benefit from learning about magnets.
2. A child who already likes regular wooden blocks and might like a variation and challenge.
Buy BRIO Magnetic Stacking Train Now
I purchased the magnetic stacking blocks about 1 1/2 years ago for my child (now 2 1/2). I loved the idea of children having beginning blocks that could actually stick together and not immediately fall down. These are very well made. Because they are magnetic with one side "positive"/ one side "negative", I put a tiny permanent marker dot on the positive side of all the blocks. My daughter immediately picked up on this (at 12 months, they are more observant that we think sometimes) and that did the trick. She knew how to stick them together. They stick together well enough on the floor but if picked up too vigorously, or with too many stuck togetherthey come apartlots of fun for the child as well. Her main issue was that there were not enough to really feel like they can build something as they get older so I bought a second set and this train. It works great for us.If you have an older child, the discovery of how the magnets repel or attract will be interesting, but if they are younger most likely just frustrating so I suggest the dot idea. It is a safe beginning magnet set because there is no way the child can access the magnetit is inside the shapes.everything about this toy is good. It incorporates the highest level quality in material, style, design, color choice and best of all, the terrific way it fits together. So many combinations and the play with magnets makes this an outstanding choice. It couldn't be better.

Kelsyus Water Hammock
The dark blue nylon is matte but looks a little slick when wet. The light blue meshing also covers the pillow on one side. I assume this is an attempt to keep the head rest dry. The pillow does keep my head comfortably out of the water at all times. When in the hammock, the top of my chest is out of the water, my midsection partly submerged, and legs slightly or mostly submerged depending on where I rest my feet (spread them apart for less submersion). This will be a matter of preference, but I would rather be submerged less. I'm also a lightweight person, 5'4" tall, so I'm not sure to what extent a heavier or taller person would be submerged in the water. A tall person's feet might dangle off the end. The instructions say the hammock will hold up to 250 pounds (113 kg).
The hammock is easy to get into and quite comfortable for floating around. It's a little difficult sometimes to get it to go where you want, or stop it from drifting where you don't want, as steering has to be done entirely with the arms. I don't find it quite as comfortable when lying on my stomach as on my back, and that position submerges me too much. I've been pleased with the hammock, though. It's a great alternative to lounging on a chair half the day, which can get pretty boring. You can feel the water and soak in the sun at the same time. I leave the hammock to dry in the sun, then deflate it, lie it flat, and fold it in thirds. If you do that, it collapses into a disc almost automatically. It packs into a round carrying case with handle that's easy to tote around.I was lucky enough to try this product at a friend's pool one day, and decided I had to get one for our summer vacation on a lake. It is very easy to get on, unlike many other pool floats, and actually cradles you slightly below the surface of the water, allowing you to remain cool in the sun. Only the outside inflates, so even without a pump, it is easy to inflate. The center of the float is mesh, so aboout 3 inches of water envelopes you when you get in. It worked just as well on a lake as in the pool, and is highly recommended for comfortI had to fight the entire family for possession! Another great feature is that once the air is out, if folds up flat for easy carrying and storage. I am going to order more for my family's vacation next year....Excellent product. I especially like the way it folds for carrying. We took it on a 9 hour flight with us to Aruba. It was easy to manage and store on the flight. In the surf of Aruba, it was perfect size for one grandma, one daughter, and two granddaughters to float the waves.I bought this as a gift for my wife. She loves to lounge in the pool. This float allows the water to surround you and let's you sunbathe without getting too hot. You can deflate the pillow and fold it to take it with you. It's very lightweight, but pretty durable. You can use this even if you are over 200 pounds.I purchased this float because I was going on a vacation in the Caribbean and the hotel where I stayed had a lazy river. The float came in a nice compact size and it easily fit in my suitcase for travel. It is extremely easy to inflate. I used the float in the pool and in the ocean and it worked great. Once I was done with the float, it easily collapsed and fit right back into it's carrying case with ease.

Jellycat Cordy Roy Cat Medium
Buy Jellycat Cordy Roy Cat Medium Now
We received this cat as a baby shower gift and it pretty much stayed in a pile of stuffed animals for a long time. One day, when our daughter was around a year old, she just picked it up and named it. Ever since then, she carries it around everywhere she goes and never sleeps without it. We even bought another one as a backup in case something ever happened to the original. Our daughter is now over two and a half and she still sleeps with it. It has been through countless washes and it still looks great. The ears and the tip of the tail are a bit chewed up but none of the stitches have ripped, it has kept its shape and the color hasn't faded. My granddaughter just loves him and won't leave him alone since her birthday. Any toy she loves I love. She even puts him to the side when she takes a bath. Now that's love for her oink kitty.I love this kitty, but it does not look just like the stock photo. Its face is a little more round. It is very soft and has a very long tail which is cute. It is much larger-looking in real life than in the photo, also. It is very cute, but do not expect it to look exactly as shown. I will try to load some customer photos that point out the differences.Wednesday, February 26, 2014
Pocoyo Water Taxi 24706
The thing is, the toy was actually originally designed to be "motorized" It wasn't designed for a battery-powered electric motor, but rather for a pull-the-string, spring-loaded motor. You can probably tell that just by looking at the wheels on the fish, which have paddles and rubberized "tires" so they'll work on hard floors or in the tub. In addition, the string is not simply attached to the fish, but is attached inside, and goes through a smooth hole edged with a more durable type of plastic. Finally, there is an off-center bulge designed into the bottom of fish to accommodate a gear on the axle. It's obvious it was designed to have some kind of motorization, but at some point someone decided to remove that feature. Of course you could just ask, if it's a bath toy, why does the fish even have wheels?
It might have been a lot more fun if they'd kept the motor, but in the end it's just an oddly designed toy that doesn't float well.I suppose it would be ok to play with on the floor but my DD has better toys that work in a "pull toy" way. In the tub Pokoyo is too heavy, on the yellow X he lists to the side then flips over. On the fish's head its a tad better but the smallest wave and it flips over. With Pokoyo on the fishe's head the fish rides low in the water so the wheels are submerged. The wheels do nothing in the water. there is no windup, pull string nuttin its hollow plastic.
It does drain out really well but for the $10 get something more fun, even squirters are more fun than looking at the BOTTOM of your tub toy.

Pocoyo is just so cute, how could I resist getting a little toy when buying the DVDs??I got this for my 3.5 year old son, who becomes transfixed when Pocoyo comes on the television. It is perfect in its simplicity. No lights, no sound, no batteries. This is just a simple plastic toy.
Pocoyo is removable from the starfish and can be placed on the fish's head. The fish has small wheels that can help its movement on land. In the tub, all 3 float. I haven't had it retain too much water, but we are pretty diligent about shaking out our bath toys to avoid mold.
I found my 7 year old enjoying this toy, too. Not surprising!

This toy doesn't do anything. It just floats kinda sideways in the tub or moves unevenly on the floor. It looks like it was supposed to have a spring or mini motor in the main fish and they forgot to put it in there. The box shows water kicking from the wheels, but they don't. The detachable boy is cute and my son plays with him, but it would be better to get that in a gumball machine for one buck instead of fifteen. If you are looking for a Pocoyo toy, I would highly suggest the Bump N Go car. My boy LOVES it.We bought the water taxi and we are very disappointed. It doesn't really move well in the water, the star that Pocoyo sits on tips over and it's just a lame toy to be honest. Very disappointing. This was our first and last Pocoyo toy. Don't get it, you'll waste your money.

Fisher-Price Scoop and Whirl Popper
Like another reviewer said, the balls do not pop. The picture on the box is deceiving as it makes it look like the balls pop up within the container but they do not.
My almost 3-year-old had a hard time getting the balls to scoop. There is not a big hole that the ball can go into. Only one very small sized hole that you have to run over at just the right angle. My 3 year old got bored after she couldn't get the balls to scoop up, and it wasn't even a present for her. My 12-month-old can't walk idependently yet but when he does, I doubt he will be able to figure this toy out.
Also if you roll it backwards AT ALL the balls will fall out.
I'm usually a fan of Fisher Price but this is a big disappointment. We recieved this as a gift for my one-year old's birthday. The previous review is correct in that it wont help them walk, and the balls are very lightweight. It does have pretty good music, and isnt too loud. The front rubbery-plastic hands did break off after about 2 months of use, but my son is really hard on his toys.

I am glad that we bought this with jcpenny reward dollars...it is so boring! I read the reviews before purchasing and though...eh...what the heck...how bad can it be? I mean I knew it was ment to be pushed and wouldn't hold our little one up and I wasn't expecting that. I WAS however expecting the toy to actually pop the balls like it implies it can. See...I guess I should have looked at the box closer. I was expecting the toy to have a little fan in it like the other fisher price ball popper toys...it doesn't. It scoops them up they bop a little and that's it. Not real fun. Our almost one year old is not impressed. It also only picks up the balls if you drive over them VERY slowly. One good thing is that it does appear to be durable and the music is really nice... not annoying at all unlike allot of other children's toys. I am just glad that we didn't pay full price...NOT worth it at all, and that the balls it came with work with the fisher price ball popping dinosaur.Read Best Reviews of Fisher-Price Scoop and Whirl Popper Here
My little baby love this toy. She cannot get enough of it. I just wish it came with batteries and that the balls were easier to keep track of.I bought this for my 2 years old's birthday. It's a good toy, no too loud and an on/off switch (which is always a good thing with musical toys). For some reason my little guy isn't too interested in it, but I think it's more because he's too busy chasing after whatever his big brother is playing with than him not liking. Good toy, easy assembly.
