Away We Go Knob Puzzle

My daughter is getting interested in puzzles, so I started shopping for some knob puzzles. I've been turned off from the Melissa and Doug brand their puzzles look so cute, but after reading various negative reviews on amazon and researching how some of their products have been found to contain higher levels of toxins than they claim, I decided to try Hape's puzzles. I really like that the finishes are non-toxic, they use water-based paints, and that the company is eco-friendly...and their puzzles are not made in China. I bought the fruit basket puzzle, the plane/car/boat puzzle, and the zoo animals puzzle. They didn't look as colorful compared to the Melissa and Doug puzzles based on the online pictures, but when they arrived, I had no complaints about their design and quality. These are excellent and look even better in person. My daughter is enjoying them, and I don't have to worry about whether that are safe...for now!

UPDATE: I am no longer sure that this item is not made in China. Its product details lists China as it origin. I do recall that the packaging I received did not say "made in China", but I've long since discarded the packaging and cannot confirm this.

Animal Planet 3-in-1 Travel Buddy

I ordered two of these, one for my son and one for my cousin's baby who is the same age as my son. When i got it I thought they were SO cute but turns out, the animal isn't attached to the blanket part. The pictures they have make it seem like they are but they are too separate things. No biggie though! Its still a really cute gift and it makes a great little pillow/travel pillow buddy for a young toddler (1 year old)

This was a gift for my nephew and he loved it! I was however disapointed to learn that the blanket was not actually connected to the elephant piece. The blanket created the body of the pillow once inside, but will most likely get lost once removed since it is two pieces.

This is a really cute product, but the blanket is extremely small. Our kid wanted more pillow pets, but she already has quite a few, so we decided to grab this instead. She likes it, but the blanket doesn't cover her the whole way. She's 8 and tall for her age, and the product appears to be made for younger children anyway. Although I'm a little disappointed, once I got a closer look at the box in my hands, I'm not surprised that it's not big enough for her. We will probably end up doing something crafty with it to make it usable since it's still so cute!

VTech Infant Learning Touch and Learn Storytime

I bought this for our 18 month old son for Christmas. He has loved it from the first time he saw it. He loves books and being read to and I thought this would be a good toy for him since he can control the story and repeat things/functions. It reads the story to you, there are multiple songs to each book and you learn objects, animals, the alphabet, etc. It gives a book loving kid an opportunity to read books by himself and learn. Our son can identify every letter of the alphabet and is close to saying his ABC's he absolutely loves this toy! I highly recommend this product.

As a side note, when my husband saw this he said, "I'd have never bought that!" He was surprised at how much enjoyment he's gotten out of it.

I saw this product online at Walmart. The reviews were great but the only place I was able to find it was at Amazon. I purchased this for my grandson who has just turned two. It comes with interchangeable books that store neatly in the back compartment. It has a story theme and also helps toddlers identify objects. This is one of the best gifts I could have bought. A must have!

My grandson loves this toy. He can turn it on himself, turn the pages easily, and use the toucher to hear words, sounds, and music. On the downside, he can't actually click the books into place, and the string attached to the toucher seems a bit too short. Also, book storage in the back of the unit is difficult to manage. Overall a good purchase that I would make again and do recommend.

I got this for my 19 month old daughter who loves books for Christmas and it has been a big hit! It is really cute and has great learning features. This table and chairs is perfect for our 15 month old daughter! I wanted to create a space of her very own that included a table and chairs. As hoped she loves them! The chairs are the perfect height for her to practice getting on and off of. Table is a little high yet but we can still do puzzles and have snacks on it without too much trouble. It was fairly easy to put together as well. My only complaint would be that the paint on the products is a little fragile. One of the chairs tipped over and left a huge red mark on the wall. Other than than that I would highly recommend this set.

Lamaze Play & Grow Flutterbug

Attached it onto mobile of my 4mo olds swing (fisher price zen)...now when he wakes up instead of crying to be picked up he stares up (the bottom of the toy has black/white contrast) and bats at the rings. He liked his swing for sleeping before, but that was about it. Now I can finish a few things while he entertains himself. I had tried another toy like this and he wasn't interested, as well as a high contrast picture but that only worked to have him look at something as he fell asleepnot for when he woke up. This combines the best of all! Highly recommend!

It is durable, makes a fun hum like sound when you pull the bottom part. She has three lamaze toys she likes them in the following rank order. I hook two on her car seat at all times, I swap the flutterbug out for Princess Sophie. I always leave the Firefly, it is her favorite, she gets upset if it is gone. She stopped crying in the carseat the first day we hung Freddie Firefly in there. Now she holds the rings and plays with him, or falls asleep holding those rings. (Granted if we take a very long car ride she will still cry these got us about 30 minutes of silence/happiness on car trips)

My son loves this toy! We had it hanging from his carseat from 4-8 months old. He loved to chew and crinkle the petals and gum the plastic rings. It held up to the abuse very nicely. However, I do have one minor issue.....cleaning. You aren't suppose to wash it in the washing machine so spot cleaning it is a pain.

When I first saw this bug, I immediately wanted my daughter to have it. It's wonderful! The petals and wings are crinkly and perfect for grasping and chewing. We attached this to her jumper so that it's easy to grab and it shakes and rattles when our daughter jumps. She loves pulling it toward her and playing with it. If you pull it downward, the string reels it back up and it buzzes. The buzzing sound is perfect and it reminds me of walking through fields when I was a kid and hearing insects buzz as they flew away.

I actually like this toy better than some of the other Lamaze hanging toys. The bottom part of the flower has a black and white pattern on it that instantly captured my 4-month olds attention. When you pull the rings on the flower, it "buzzes" back up to the turtle above. My 4-month old LOVES the buzzing noise and is strong enough to pull it a little bit herself. I think the nice thing about this toy is that my baby can play with the turtle part above while sitting in her Bumbo or carseat, but when laying down can play with the flower part, making it almost like two toys in one.

These cups were given to my now 2-year-old son for his first birthday, though they were given to us late. He absolutely LOVES these cups. He plays with them in the shower, or wherever. He'll play with them outside. He loves filling them up with water and dumping them out. He love stacking them. I can't imagine not having these cups. They're one of those toys, like blocks, that help them learn the fundamentals and they'll never go out of style. We are getting another set because our new puppy found a couple and she chewed them rather thoroughly.

My toddler (now 29 months old) has loved these pots and spoons since we got them for him (at about 12 months old). He's used them, on and off, all this time and it looks like he'll continue to use them in different capacities.

At first, when he was just barely walking, he liked to put balls and links (Boomerings and others) in the pots and pour them from one to another. He also liked to fill the pots and carry them around by the handle. Nesting the pots is something he doesn't seem to get tired of. In the last month, he's started using them for imaginative play, "eating" a spoon from the matching pot--and inviting you to join him!

this suitcase is adorable and we will use it as a carry on but it is too small to hold much. seems like it will be good for entertainment at the airport though.

This is our second Trunki. I could not resist the cow. My children 3 and 6, love them. They are very sturdy and ideal for a child's carry on. We get so many comments in the security lines! I am so excited to begin learning at home with these using the printables found on What a bright idea! My blocks came in the mail today, and I am printing away to create inter-changeable learning blocks for my 8, 4 and 2 year old!!!

I purchased these to make a personalized gift for my grandchild. I do a lot of photography for fun, and loved the idea of adding photos of the family and pets, etc. the blocks are durable and soft, however, they are smaller than I thought they would be from the photo. i bought this for my one year old granddaughter since she liked animals. she liked the animals fine but didn't show any interest in the truck. i was disappointed in it because the truck didn't go very far at all when you pressed the cow. the music didn't last long either. kind of a high price to pay for the two animals that came with it.

I bought this toy for my son's first birthday and it's just okay. The colors are bright and cheery and the little pig and sheep are the perfect size for my son to carry around the house. The one thing I was mildly disappointed in was the length of time the music played on the toy. When the cow is depressed the truck moves and music plays but it only lasts a couple of seconds. The truck is large enough and sturdy enough that he can push around the house on his knees.

I got this truck for my son for Christmas. He likes the truck and the noises it makes however he gets frustrated that the truck will barely move on carpet. It has to be used (if you want it to go on it's own) on hard floors.

Other than that the truck is great.

This fisher price toy is fair. My 8 month old son is able to press down on the cow and watch the truck move on its own and encourages him to crawl after it. But it doesn't go very far and is extremely slow on carpet. My son doesn't really care for this toy and prefers a caparable toy by the wiggles which goes much faster and further. good concept but doesnt deliver.

I purchased this toy for my twin sons, they are 12 months old now. Every time they use this toy they push it from the back and the front pops up and the cow that is driving hits them in the face or nose. We have already suffered a bloody nose. This toy is dangerous for anyone under two. There is nothing on it to keep the front from coming up when any pressure is added to the back. Item needs to be recalled. We have 100 trucks, this is the only one they can no longer play with.

I exepected something more than what we got. yeah it's neat to have the toys fit within each other... that is a big plus for me when you have to pick up after two kids, however, i anticipated a little better quality. the plastic seems flimsy and i'm a little worried that it will break apart in his mouth... he's teething and everything goes in the mouth. the baseball on the inside has lousy sound and we have to find a new battery for it... one of those ridiculous watch batteries. not unhappy but not happy either.

This toy was a gift from my father for my son's first birthday. I know that he bought it at a discount store and did not pay the $20 that it is currently listed for on here. I personally feel that this toy should reach a price high of only $10. When my son first received this present, he was not good at taking it apart or putting it together for that matter, it was handed to me constantly to help him with it. The baseball can be quite a weapon when thrown across the room.

I love baseball so I was not quite as annoyed with the baseball noises. However, when the battery died on it, it didn't get replaced. It just was not worth it to me. As my son got older, he would take the balls apart and put them together, telling me it was a ball. When he received this as a gift, I didn't think it would be as big of a hit as it has become in my house.

My advise is if you find this toy at under $10, it is a good toy. I don't know about it still being that interesting after two years old. My son would much rather play with cars, trains, dinos, and his other balls.

One of the seat staps ripped while my 10 month old son was using this float, causing him to slip underwater. This float is very dangerous and poorly made. I highly recommend the Baby Spring Float rather than this product.

Great product, and for the price, you cant get a better deal. Our 9 1/2 month old son absolutely loved it. It was his first time in the pool and he was so comfortable in it as if he's been using this thing for months. If its fulled inflated , I don't see how the baby can tip over it, unless the baby is heavy. Our son is almost 26 pounds and it didn't seem like this thing was ever out of his control. There are four holes to pass his legs through the saddle, and if you use the front two holes, the baby will lean his chest over the front of the float, in perfect position to use his hands and feet to swim. We didn't try using the back holes as i felt that may tip the balance off a bit, but may be its meant to float on the back. I dunno, this thing didn't come with a manual (nor do i think it needs ones). One reviewer said it needs to be inflated before every use, though I wouldn't take a star off of it for that. All it needs is like 4-5 good puffs and thats a good test to check ur lung capacity. overall, a great product, definitely recommended. Everyone should buy this product as a tester before they buy any fancy $25+ stuff.

I wanted to get some wooden toys for my 3-month old daughter instead of the standard plastic ones, mainly to avoid the whole BPA issue. We didn't want to spend a lot of money on them but did want quality. This toy, while being slightly more expensive than others, is a great investment. My daughter clutches the sides and gnaws on the round ring, while the little colorful wooden parts are fun for her to watch. It's her favorite toy (if a 3-month old has favorites). It's exactly as it appears in the picture. The wooden stick in the middle seems sturdy and doesn't appear to have any "give" in it -I worried it might break easily, but it has withstood my older two playing with it. A great investment!

Our little one liked this rattle when she was teething, and she liked to wave the beads around. We also received as gifts the Moby clutching toy and the Haba rattle with colored "beads" -that one was probably the best in catching her eye with color and movement and sound, and she liked chomping on that one as well as this one. (Thank you, friends + family, for the generous gifts!) This one got play as a stroller toy clipped to plastic rings too, and that was a good distraction. All in all, Haba toys are fantastic and very nice to have.

My baby LOVED this rattle, it was his favorite toy for a long time. Yesterday he threw it on our wood floors and the ring literally shattered, leaving all the little bars on the floor. I frequently let him play with this toy alone so I'm glad I happened to be standing near him when this toy broke because those bars are basically the definition of a choking hazard. I know better than to run wood toys through a dishwasher (I don't even have a dishwasher and to be honest I'm too lazy to wash all of his toys by hand plus germs build up immunity, am i right?) so I only have Haba to blame. I also purchased the caterpillar and noticed a hairline fracture in the ring of that as well, not as dangerous since it could only pinch him, but I'm still extremely disappointed in both products.

Color Changing Ducks, 3 pc

The water has to be hot for them to slowly change color (though the effect is instantaneous if you boil them). You would certainly not want the water any warmer so you do not scald your child. They do, unfortunately, gain mildew on the inside (in case you were wondering why I boiled them). Especially since kids put everything in their mouths, I am not happy he can squirt the water in his mouth from inside the duck. I recommend either planning to replace these often, changing them out completely to let them dry, or just move on to a different bath toy. There are other ducks in the pond, so to speak.

Very cute, seemingly good quality... but I am disappointed at how hot the water must be for the ducks to change color. I am pretty sure my daughter's tub water is as hot as a kid can handle comfortably and the ducks definitely do not change color a bit. I thought they were total lemons until my husband tried putting them in scalding hot water, and they did change colorswhich is of no help to my daughter.

These do change colors, but it's not what I thought they'd be. My granddaughter wanted some duckies for her bath. Her old ones got full of water and had to be tossed. These are ok. Tolo First Friends Construction Vehicle

Tolo toys are well made. They are durable and fun. My little guy loves the sounds and actions of this toy. It is great for cause and effect and will be even more fun with him when he is ready for imaginary play. These products are way above the Fisher Price and similar toys. I do feel that they are worth the higher cost.

I have purchased Tolo Toys in the past with great success, unfortunately this one does not work properly all the time. I would try to return it, but my 13 month old son loves it and plays with it all day long.

We purchased this at a specialty toy store; they raved about this toy. The construction workers' arms, legs, and head click as they move. Also, the front loader moves up and down. The worker and vehicle are very durable. You can push down on the seat to hear the horn and "start" the engine. The vehicle moves forward about 8 feet and then giggles. It is a very loud toy. There is no way to change the volume. My one year old son does not play with this toy right now (other than throwing the worker onto the tile floor), perhaps when he is a little older for imaginary play. I expected a lot from this toy for the price and do not think it was worth the $40.
