My First Scribbler, Pink

My First Scribbler, PinkMy 1.5 yr old baby likes to scribble with a pen so we got her this to practice in a more safe (and clean) way. The product looked good on website, but when we got it the figures were very cute but very hard for her to figure out how to use them as drawing instruments!

She bangs them on the board but it does not leave a mark unless the instruments bottoms are pressed directly against the board. They also require quite a bit of pressure for leave a decent mark.

My granddaughters had an Etch-a-Sketch, so I bought this as a second one to avoid arguments. It is not nearly as good as the one they already had. The drawing is not dark and requires lots of pressure, and the screen does not clear completely. Very disappointed.

Buy My First Scribbler, Pink Now

I purchased this for my daughter, who is 15 months old. The characters are easy for her to grip as she scribbles away on the board. They are difficult to get in and out of their holders though, even for me. Also the board seems to be very cheaply made, with thin plastic and a screen that doesn't entirely erase the magnetic sand unless you slide the erasing piece (heart) over several times until the screen clears. I think there must be similiar products made that are of better quality. I know my daughter is young, but I used it myself and am a little disappointed in the quality.

Earlyears Pop N' Play Giraffe

Earlyears Pop N' Play GiraffeThis is a cute toy, and our kids like it. But it takes button photo batteries that don't last long and are EXPENSIVE! It'll cost you almost as much as the toy is worth to replace the batteries just once.

I bought this for my niece for X-mas. She loves the toy, however, it was filthy. It needed to be washed before she could play with it. Something that shouldn't happen when something is bought new.

I bought this for my son, not from TRU but from a shop on Main street. My son never really was interested it b/c it was so low in sound that it wouldn't keep his attention. I'm not sure if it was the product or the place i purchased it, but I do think it should have been at least a little louder!

MEASURE UP!® POTS and SPOONS by Discovery Toys

MEASURE UP!® POTS and SPOONS by Discovery ToysThese cups were given to my now 2-year-old son for his first birthday, though they were given to us late. He absolutely LOVES these cups. He plays with them in the shower, or wherever. He'll play with them outside. He loves filling them up with water and dumping them out. He love stacking them. I can't imagine not having these cups. They're one of those toys, like blocks, that help them learn the fundamentals and they'll never go out of style. We are getting another set because our new puppy found a couple and she chewed them rather thoroughly.

These cups were actually intelligently designed. On the bottom of each cup is an emboss of an animal and they go from smallest (1) to largest (12). Each cup's number holds that many ounces. The colors are also patterned, 4 colors, and they stay in sequence when the cups are put together.

I have these cups for my seven month old and he loves them! I'm not sure why babies find cups so entertaining, but they absolutely do! He loves to bang them together and chew on them! I love that these cups are educational too. They are all numbered in English, Spanish and French. Plus, they all have animals on them. All and all a great product!

Buy MEASURE UP!® POTS and SPOONS by Discovery Toys Now

My toddler (now 29 months old) has loved these pots and spoons since we got them for him (at about 12 months old). He's used them, on and off, all this time and it looks like he'll continue to use them in different capacities.

At first, when he was just barely walking, he liked to put balls and links (Boomerings and others) in the pots and pour them from one to another. He also liked to fill the pots and carry them around by the handle. Nesting the pots is something he doesn't seem to get tired of. In the last month, he's started using them for imaginative play, "eating" a spoon from the matching pot--and inviting you to join him!

Since these pots are identifiable colors (and match the spoons and Boomerings), it opens up a lot of learning play. "Can you bring me the RED pot?" "How many BLUE links are in the pot?" Et cetera. Speaking of learning, the pots are volumetic, so if you fill #2 twice, pouring it into #4 each time, it'll fill 4 completely. Measure Up Cups are his main bath toy, so the pots and spoons don't get much water play.

I'm excited to bring the pots to the beach this summer. I'm sure he'll love using the bottoms to stamp out the food designs in the sand.

Bottom line: These colorful, educational pots and spoons will grow with your toddler.

Gund Christmas My First Christmas 10" Plush Red/Green

Gund Christmas My First Christmas 10' Plush Red/GreenI was disappointed in this bear, as it was not as nice as it looked on the screen. I couldn't make the picture any larger, so I really couldn't see it as well as I would have liked. I thought the quality was not worth the price charged for it. I bought it for my little grandson's first Christmas, and I was disappointed in it.

Sweet Safari Boy Invitations (20 per package)

Sweet Safari Boy InvitationsI bought these for a simple baby shower I am throwing for my sister-in-law. They are cute. The colors on the front are bright and of good quality. I also like the fact that they came with a save-the-date sticker as well as sticker for closing the envelope. I would defiantly recommend these to anyone.

This invitations were what i expected and more. They are very beautiful. Elegant and yet simple. They also come with the stickers to seal them( which were being sold separately by other vendors). Definitely recommend you to buy these and they were at the best price too.

Thank you.

Forum Novelties Native American Brave Costume

Forum Novelties Native American Brave Costume, Toddler SizeThis was for my son to wear in a school play. Pant Size was not close to a 14, more of a 10-12. Pants were way too small and very thin, even see thru. Used the top and had to buy additional pants.

This was a cute costume that served it's purpose nicely. It's very much on a par with anything you'd buy at a discount store for Halloween. Although it doesn't look like much out of the bag, it looks good in pictures and was the source of a lot of fun playtime for my kids. Just know, it's just the suit, no headband or tomahawk accessories like the picture shows.

VTech - Animal Friends Toddler Laptop

VTech - Animal Friends Toddler LaptopI purchased this laptop as an educational toy for my 20 month old son. I was looking forward to a beginner laptop-type of toy, since he loves computers. I was terribly disappointed when I got the laptop. It is VERY boring it makes the same annoying sound over and over again, and there is nothing engaging about the toy. It has 10 keys with little tiny animals on them that are so small that toddlers don't even recognize the animals. The only "objective" of the activity on the laptop is to watch a panda move around (very boring) and listen to a voice tell you that you just pushed the star, circle, and heart. There is a "game" in which the child is to push the (tiny) animal key and the screen displays the animal and counts up to the number on the key. However, it is done in a very slow, boring manner and cannot hold my son's attention at all. There is nothing fun about it at all, or educational. In between parts of the activities there is just quiet background music and nothing to do. My son has no interest in this toy because there is nothing at all to interest him in it. It is NOTHING like a beginner computer or laptop. The "mouse" on the right side just moves back and forth with really no purpose at all. The knob on the left just makes the panda move faster or slower and makes the music speed up and slow down. The screen on the laptop is so small that young children barely even notice it. My son doesn't seem to understand that the screen has anything to do with the buttons he is pushing, since it is so incredibly small.

I strongly suggest skipping this laptop and going straight to a more advanced one, such as one for a 3 or 4 year old. I regret very much that I didn't know enough to do this. This laptop will not teach your child how to use a computer and is in no way similar to a laptop computer. My 4 and 6 year old nieces have more realistic laptop computers designed for slightly older children, and my son just LOVES using these.

Please save your money! This is a very boring, useless toy. I hope I can save someone else from wasting their money on this.

We have had this laptop for about a year and a half and it has held up quite well. There is a molded elephant face on the lid when you close it and it is probably the cutest toy vtech makes. It has adorable animal graphics on screen as well as the Panda face that surrounds the screen itself. When the the child does not push a button for a while you see two large Panda eyes open, close, and wink on the screen instead, too cute! It introduces three shapes, three colors, ten different animals and numbers up to ten. It plays soothing music that is not very loud or irritating like many toys for this age group. There are fun games where the female or child-sounding computer voice asks for you to find a particular animal or shape and to press the right corresponding key. An easy to use paw-shaped mouse is used to help the animals catch a ball with your child's help. We bought it for our youngest daughter whom we nicknamed Panda and it tied in with a Panda birthday theme we did that year as well. She and her four year old sister still like the toy and play with it often. I definitely would purchase again!

Buy VTech - Animal Friends Toddler Laptop Now

I was so excited to get this for my son however when it arrived I was disappointed to find the screen is about 2"x2". You can barely see it. My son loves my computer so I was hoping to get him something that he would enjoy. Not so much.

Duckymeter, the Baby Bath Floating Duck Toy and Bath Tub Thermometer

Duckymeter, the Baby Bath Floating Duck Toy and Bath Tub ThermometerUsed this thermometer for the first time tonight while bathing my son. The thermometer feels sturdy and reads accurately so far. It is automatically activated when it touches the water, which I thought was a great feature! I like how the background color changes three different colors (red, blue and green) to indicate whether the water is too hot, too cold or just right. Also the display is big, making it easy to read the temperature. Unlike other bath thermometers that I have purchased in the past, the batteries can be replaced by unscrewing the back. So far, I am very pleased with this thermometer and my son enjoys playing with it in the tub.

*4/20/2012: After 3 months, the ducky thermometer no longer turns off when it is completely dry. I contacted the seller via email and have yet to receive a response. Poor customer support.

Grandparents, mom, and dad were always arguing about whether the water was too hot or cold. This is pricey but in the end, it was totally worth it for us. Wish it had an off button. We've had it about 2 months now, still working, I will update it later after a few more months.

Buy Duckymeter, the Baby Bath Floating Duck Toy and Bath Tub Thermometer Now

When this was received, of course the first thing I wanted to do was test it out. Nothing happened when I placed it in water, so I opened it and replaced the batteries. YAY! It worked, showing 3 temperature colors as advertised. However, now it won't turn off at all! I guess I could use it as a night light too...but who wants to keep replacing the batteries, when you have to unscrew 8 miniature screws, and hope you don't drop one? I contacted the seller and got NO RESPONSE. It's going back, but I really want another one, so may take my chances. I can't find that it's available at any retail stores (Target, Walmart, Babies R Us), so I may have to hope the next one works.

When we received our ducky meter, at first it didn't work at all. Rather than go through the hassle of returning it, we decided to try replacing the batteries. Then it *appeared* to work, instantly displaying a temperature reading when it hit the water, but our nanny noticed that it never registered a temperature higher than 77.8, no matter how hot the water felt. See the photo we've posted, showing the duck displaying 77.8 and a thermometer showing 109.3! DANGEROUSLY DEFECTIVE. Do not rely on this product to tell you whether your baby's bath water is at a safe temperature. Better yet, just don't buy it.

Want Duckymeter, the Baby Bath Floating Duck Toy and Bath Tub Thermometer Discount?

All young moms were suggesting to measure the water temperature with the elbow. I could tell that my baby did not like the elbow-measured temperature and after doing some research on the web and comparing few thermometers, I decided to purchase this Duckymeter. My decision criteria was to find something reasonably priced with good reviews and not made in China. It was no surprise that I could not find any thermometer that would fit my criteria and would not be made in China. Duckymeter is made in China, but at $13 there was nothing else out there.

It has two general parts the duck part and the thermometer unit itself; it is simply inserted into the duck. The two parts do not have to be together and I decided to only use the thermometer part because when together, the water gets trapped between the two parts and when trying to dry it, the trapped water keeps dripping out of the gaps.

Thermometer conveniently turns on automatically when it senses water. It measures fast and the color indication of the temperature is very convenient: the entire LCD display turns blue when the water is still too cold; red when too hot, and green when optimal, though I compared the accuracy with another kitchen thermometer and the results were 10 degrees apart. Not sure which one is more accurate, though, but my baby seems to like the Duckymeter-optimized water temperature, which is all that matters.

Alex Jr. Bon Voyage Toy

Alex Jr. Bon Voyage ToyMy 6 month old son LOVES this toy! He loves the little crinkly luggage items in the back of the car. He chews on them and squeezes them he just loves the feel and the sound! He likes to kick the car, as it's really big for him to hold on to just yet. He likes the trunk w/the mirror too, because that crinkles. It's a great go-to toy!

I never thought packing the car was particularly fun until I watched a one-year-old happily stuff the picnic basket, hat, ball, umbrella and suitcases into the trunk of this squishy, plump car. Eight soft, crinkly pictures to pack delighted toddlers as they smashed the items into the little hand-sized compartment in the back of the car, shut the door and secured the silver tab to keep their prized possessions safe. As only toddlers know, it is just as much fun to take everything out as it is to put it in. Take a peak at yourself in the back mirror, open the hatch and start all over. Easily grabbable, this cushy car feels like a pillow and gets grabbed as a rattle too.

As a speech-language expert at Play On Words, I tell parents that language building begins as you follow your child's lead as they hand you the items or start to load them in the car. Name them, talk about their shapes, colors and what we do with them--"The goggles, we need them to see underwater." "The picnic basket, that's where we load our food for lunch." Use rich vocabulary to build your child's word base and strengthen language skills. During the first year and a half is when parents can build their child's receptive language (understanding) in preparation for their saying words and little sentences at two years of age.

Mobile Volabella

Mobile VolabellaThis mobile is even better than it appears online.

The birds are so big and vibrant.

The angle it hangs on gives it the appearance of birds in flight.

The price was the best I found.

This mobile made all the difference in our lives!!! We placed it over our baby's changing table and after many many fussy diaper changes have yet to hear her cry during a change since using this mobile! She's so mesmerized by the movement of these bright wooden birds she hardly notices I'm changing her, it's been amazing. Highly recommended!

I love it. After seeing it on the babygadget blog, I had to have one for my daughter. It took my husband a while to hang it, but it is stunning. I love the simplicity there's nothing fussy or overwrought to it. And the vibrant colors go with any decor. Now the new baby loves to lie on her sister's bed and stare at it. Pricey but perfect.

This mobile is bigger than I expected. As a result, I haven't been able to use it right away. I thought it was a crib mobile. No. Then I tried hanging it from the ceiling, but it was too heavy for a little screw in hook. Now I'm waiting for my husband to devise a solution. It's still sitting on the floor in the closet six months after purchase ..........

It is pretty, though. Next time I think I'll just buy a small, cheap, wind up musical one for the crib. The baby doesn't need any more than that anyways.

My First Bubble Blower ( colors may vary)

My First Bubble BlowerThis bubble blower just plain doesn't work. Even when you hold down the handle, the bubbles don't come. When finally after three or four tries, the bubbles do come out, only 4 or 5 bubbles come out. You do better with a simple wand.

I went through lots of bubble fluid filling it up and trying it different ways, tilting it, etc. and have given up.

I am so disappointed in this toy! It does not have much space to fill the solution when you pull down the handle maybe 4-5 bubbles at a time come outnot alotmakes alot of noise like bubbles are coming out but it usually takes a couple of pull backs to get the bubbles out!!!

Buy My First Bubble Blower ( colors may vary) Now

We ordered this as a gift for my one year old son after seeing it recommended in a parent's magazine. Big disappointment! As others have stated, the bubbles do NOT come out unless the handle is pulled all the way down and then held there for a second, and my son was terribly frustrated by that. Also, once the poor child is lucky enough to actually release some bubbles, only a handful come out (often less). In addition, we went through the bubble bottle in two days just through attempting to make it work, and later saw that it had leaked all over the bottom of the toy. This caused nothing but disappointment for both of us! He got much more fun out of a simple bubble wand that I used to blow bubbles for him which cost just 39 cents.

Read Best Reviews of My First Bubble Blower ( colors may vary) Here

I wouldn't even give this one star! Received as a gift for my 2 year old. A complete disappointment. (...) the kids are more interested in what makes it tick rather than having the patience to hold the bar down and wait for the bubbles, which only works once out of every five tries. It's really a useless toy for any age.

Want My First Bubble Blower ( colors may vary) Discount?

The concept of this toy is good but its performance was very disappointing. I bought this toy for a toddler preschool class and not one child could master it. Even when I used it bubbles only came out about every third or fourth push of the handle. The handle must be held down a few seconds to make bubbles come out and the kids let go too soon. Also, the children wanted to look down the hole and watch the bubbles come out and then the bubbles get in their face and eyes. I sent this toy back.

Little Tikes Discover Sounds Zoo Motion Cube

Little Tikes Discover Sounds Zoo Motion CubeThis toy is soooooo much fun! My 11 month old grandson plays with it forever. And he usually gets bored very easily with toys! The only thing that isn't such a great feature is that it goes through batteries pretty quickly. Just be sure to shut the toy off when not in use. I searched stores for this toy as I had seen it at a friend's house but couldn't find it anywhere! Not even at Toys R Us. It's a lot of fun to use and watch small children play with it. Battat Farm Bath Buddies

Battat Farm Bath BuddiesMy 9 month old can go at these little guys forever. We have one set for bath time and one set for playtime. He absolutely loves lining up his "guys" and then chewing the life out of each one in turn. These were an absolute godsend when he was teething. The hard ridges on the bumpy sheep were one of the few things that made him feel better. That bumpy sheep saved our sanity! We brought these with us when we visited family and their 2 year old liked them so much we bought her a set too! One word of caution, if you use them in the bath they should probably be replaced every so often. After a while, toys like this can often develop mold on the inside. That's an issue if your child spends all day happily shoving them in his mouth :)

Great toy!

I just wasn't impressed with the materials. Cheap plastic that is't very soft . My son isn't really interested in them but other kids might like them.

Sassy Smart Baby Cell Phone

Sassy Smart Baby Cell PhoneWe bought this for my daughter from Buy Buy Baby, not on Amazon. At the time she was 9 months old, she is 11 months old now. She likes it okay. We have several toys from Sassy that she LOVED. I think if she had been younger when we bought it she would have enjoyed it a lot more. One thing we liked is that after playing with this phone she did start to say, 'Hello' a couple of weeks later. This phone says, "Hello Baby" and some other things. I like how light the phone is, which makes it easy for her to hold. Younger babies will have no trouble with this. I also like how easy to buttons are for her to push, but all the buttons do the same thing which is boring. So it could be better but it is a cute toy and is great for the car since if she throws it its so light that it can't hurt anything, unlike some of the heavier lights and sounds toys she has.

My granddaughter is 10 months old and loves this. The price was amazing too. I purchased several items that were the Sassy brand and love them all.

Wader Super Garbage Truck

Wader Super Garbage TruckI was glad to have found a good price with reasonable shipping on this truck. I saw it on ebay and decided it would be a good one for my garbage truck-obsessed son, but the price was too high and the shipping was insane for this large but not very heavy truck. This truck is nice because it is very sturdy and interactive. I also love that it doesn't require batteries (so I don't have to change them!) but does require a healthy imagination. There is no plastic in the windows around the cab so you can put your own drivers in.

As time went by she started to bat at it, and now she grabs at it, chews on it and this is clearly her favorite toy. Makes a cute jingling sound when she hits it, and she likes to look at the see-through jewels, I guess they reflect light. She's 5 months now and this hangs from her baby gym she has fun with it daily! Highly recommended for little ones, and this would make a perfect baby shower gift for little girls!

OVERHEAD ATTRIBUTE BLOCKS 30/PK

OVERHEAD ATTRIBUTE BLOCKS 30/PKWhen my son's logic work started asking for him to find the attribute block that matched, etc I thought I could get away with finding shapes around our home that would work. When that didn't work, I thought I could just cut out the shapes from construction paper. When that also didn't work I turned to Amazon for the attribute blocks I thought I could do without.

I don't use these with an overhead but the pieces are nice size and though I don't want them to throw them at each other they seem durable enough. I am very happy that I made the purchase and the price was right! And the logic work is much easier with the right tools.

Good Night, Gorilla

Good Night, GorillaThis book was read at a mixed-age party and I'm sure that the adults laughed as much as the children! It has quickly become a classic, featuring the cleverly pictured sneaky antics of a renegade gorilla.

Our young hero steals the keys from a zookeeper and frees all the animals, who follow the keeper home at night. Hilarious "lights out" confusion ensues with a comical surprise ending!

34 pages, with only ten different words, the expressive, colorful pictures say it all. This playful book is appropriate for infants, toddlers, and the beginning reader as well. A delightful romp, and a surefire hit! One of those few treasured books that you'll keep for years to come.

The story's in the pictures: a mischievious gorilla borrows the zoo keeper's keys and as the zookeeper is completing his rounds, the gorilla lets the animals out. The gorilla, with all of the animals following him, ends up in the zookeeper's bedroom.

The pictures are terrific, with a lot going on in the background. There's a little mouse toting the gorilla's banana, each animal's cage has a toy, and, of course, the zookeeper's wife's surprise and familiarity with the animals following him home.

My daughter's definitely picked up some rather complex animal names (e.g., giraffe, armadillo) and picked up on the gorilla's shenanigans pretty quickly.

Very fun book.

Buy Good Night, Gorilla Now

I used to read this to my preschoolers by request it was a permanent fixture in our library and I was not allowed to swap it out for new books! My kids would look for it if I took it away and I would have to bring it back. The Gorilla lets out all the animals in the zoo and follows the zoo keeper home! Mrs zoo keeper is not amused with her roomful of animals and Mr. zoo keeper has to return all the animals to their cages.

Read Best Reviews of Good Night, Gorilla Here

If you look at the title "Good Night, Gorilla" and immediately think of the classic "Good Night, Moon," you are not alone. But whereas the latter is about a little rabbit who is putting off going to sleep by saying "Good Night" to everything in the room, this little treat written and illustrated by Peggy Rathmann is about a zookeeper who WANTS to go to sleep and is saying "Good Night" to all of the animals in the zoo. What the weary zookeeper does not know, is that the gorilla has grabbed his keys and there is a growing menagerie following him home to his wife.

"Good Night, Gorilla," is simply a charming little tale, where the drawings communicate much more than the dialogue. I want to think of the art as being a cross between watercolors and pastels, but then what do I know about art? What I love best is to find the mouse with the banana on the string in each picture, and I bet your children will love that too when they discover it on their own.

Want Good Night, Gorilla Discount?

This is by far my favorite and my 21 month old daughter's favorite. The illustrations are amazing in their detail. I've been reading it to my daughter since she was about 8 months old, and I'm still finding fun "treasures" in the pictures such as the people appearing in the window of the neighbor's house, the photo on the bedside table. There are so many others, but I don't want to give it away as the fun is in discovering. There is so much to this book with few words my daughter gets different things out of it at different stages of her development. As an infant she liked the rhythmic "Goodnight Gorilla...Goodnight...Elephant, etc." and the bright colors. As she started learning animals, she loved pointing out the zoo animals. Later she was enthralled by finding the banana on every page. Lately she has been interested inthe different items in each of their cages. She was so excited the evening she realized the doll in the armadillo's cage was "Baby Ernie!". You won't be disappointed.
