My DD loved this toy/teether when she was younger--and every now and then you could catch her dad or I twisting it around, too :) For the price and entertainment value I think it is a great thing to keep in your diaper/travel bag--lots of texture, movement, color and fun in such a little package! I have bought a couple as gifts for new moms since... all thank me and say what a great gift it is, and they never would have thought to buy it or ask for it.

Only drawback for me--cleaning it. There are tiny little gaps in between the pieces that twist, so for me I didn't think a run through the dishwasher was good enough. I usually boiled it for 5-10 mins or so every couple of days in addition to the dishwasher... but maybe I'm just a little OCD! Package says not to dishwasher/boil it, but I didn't have any issues from doing so.

I bought this from Babies "R'' Us when my son started putting everything in his mouth. The teether has 4 soft rubber sections, each with different textures. It also rattles and can be bent in a number of different ways. The teether is easy for my son to grasp and twist. He enjoys chewing on the rubber sections and likes to throw it to hear rattle sounds. The teether is very easy to clean, just hand wash and air dry. It is small enough to throw in the diaper bag and entertaining enough to occupy my son during car rides, doctor's office visits, etc.

This teether has rubber sides, and smooth plastic sides. Baby can twist it around and have a good time smacking you and himself with it. If you are a nervous wreck that doesn't want to be smacked with a teether, then maybe the knuckleball one would be better for you. But the baby seems to have a good time biting this one and waving it around and smacking himself with it. Baby likes it; it gets on my nerves. But I give it 5 stars because baby likes it.

I saw the rubber-looking sections of these and thought it would be chewy. It's not. For the most part the whole thing is hard plastic. Some of the sections have a different texture or coating (like a thin rubber coating) but my baby didn't care for this at all. It's fairly large, relatively heavy, and frankly it felt more like a toy than a teething ring. I tried over and over again to get her to use this, but she would put it down after a few seconds every time.

In the end, the Vulli rubber teethers were what she liked best. Nom nom nom chewy goodness.

I think some of the online reviews were a little harsh on this costume. Regardless of what I had read, I knew my boy of almost 4 years of age wouldn't be a happy camper if I didn't get him this for Halloween. I'm glad I did get it! I thought it was durable, not flimsy. IMO the price is reasonable and it served its purpose for Halloween. The mask is a bit difficult I'll admitdoesn't really line up quite right and it was a little hard for him to see out of but it didn't slow my little guy down at all. He was happy with it & so was I.

I purchased this costume for my 4 and a half year-old son and he loved it the minute he saw it.

HOWEVER, the minute he put on the mask he had a scratch under his eye and his chin from the CHEAPLY made mask.

The edges are dangerously sharp, so please warn your child when they play with it.

I had to take some clear tape and smooth out the eye holes and the chin and nose of the mask to make it less dangerous.

The costume itself is super thin and it is already unraveling.

I was hoping it would last until the 31st of October, but there is no way it will.

It is poorly made and my son dresses up in it all the time.

CAUTION:

If you decide to purchase this costume for your child, examine the mask for sharp edges around the eye, nose, and mouth/chin opening.

My son loves it. However, I would NEVER buy this again, nor would I recommend that anyone buys it. It is not worth the price.

Delta Disney Cars Square Table and Chair Set

For my son's 2nd birthday we redid his entire room in the Cars theme. We went as far as repainting his room & furniture.

This table & chair set is a MUST for any Cars fan. I was a little hesitant at first because the price was very good...so I wasn't expecting a whole lot. I was very pleasantly surprised. They are extremely sturdy, fairly heavy for the size, and beautiful bold colors/graphics. Can't go wrong with this fantastic set.

This table is nice because it is wood, instead of plastic and metal. My toddler loves it, but one of the table legs has loosened and stripped out where the leg screws into the table. We have glued it several times but it is still loose. The chairs have been durable and we have had the set for over a year now. Some of the paint on the top has chipped from being cleaned a lot.

I purchased this table & chairs set as a birthday present for my grandson. I thought he'd use it for play. Well as it turns out, he loves it and wants to eat all of his meals at it which has greatly reduced mealtime battles and brought some peace and quiet to mealtime for his mom and dad.

All the surfaces with the pictures on are very durable and were in excellent condition. A leg or two had some blue paint missing or scratched off, but that was really no big deal to me. If need be, the legs can be easily unscrewed and repainted, which may be necessary in time, given the great amount of use this set will get. Great item!

Spinning Gears

This was a big disappointment.

First of all, the gears are very loose onto the main body of the toy, and will just fall off if the toy is tilted. I can't imagine why it comes with a handle, all the gears would just fall off. Secondly, although the description didn't state this, I had expected that pressing the music buttons would make the gears actually turn not so. Finally, the description says it's good for any child over 12 months the packaging actually recommends 18months+. Because the gears come off so easily, it takes more manual dexterity than a one year old has to turn the gears without them flying off.

Save your money.

B. Alphaberry - Sea

If I hadn't been present for this, I wouldn't believe it, so I won't blame you readers out there if you don't. This toy taught my 22 month old the entire alphabet. Seriously. My husband and I had her in the tub tonight and we were reading bath books and she pointed to a letter K and said "K"thus far the only letter we have taught her is S, so my husband and I looked at each other like "we must be hearing things"then she went on to name every other letter in the words "THANK YOU" written in one of her books. Upon seeing how amazed my husband and I were by this, she gleefully went on to name every other letter in the book, which was more or less all of them. We were perplexed, and had to really stop and thinkwhere the heck did she learn all this? I'm a stay-at-home mom, so I'm with her more or less 24/7, and we finally realized it was the Alphaberry! She's had it since she was 11 or 12 months old and we never thought much over her smashing the buttons on it, but we always gave it to her in the car. Turns out all that button smashing was in fact soaking in, BIG TIME. I'm curious if any other parents out there have had similar experiences with this toy, but I, for one, am flabbergasted. I've never been a big believer in the teaching power of electronic toys, but this one is definitely making me think twice. I think it works because it is so simple. They push a letter key, the letter appears in the circle, and the toy says the letter aloud. That's it, and I think the repetition at that level was just right to teach my daughter all her letterswho knew?! Amazing.

We gave our 13 month old an alphaberry for Christmas, mainly because she couldn't keep her hands off the tv remote and we hoped this would be a good substitute! (It isn't.) She loved it from the start, and quickly figured out which button plays music so that she could dance with it.

We hoped that over time it would help to familiarize her with the alphabet, but NEVER did we expect it to teach her the whole alphabet. Six months after she got the toy, she started pointing at signs and shouting out letters when we'd take her shopping. We decided to "test" her at home by simply writing the alphabet on a piece of paper and she would and does name every letter as it's written. Since nineteen months old! The double-takes we get from strangers when she calls out letters in public are priceless. She is 23 months old now, and starting to recognize words in her favorite books.

The only problem is that this toy only covers uppercase letters. Maybe B Toys can come up with a software upgrade...

If you're looking to buy one, here's how it works. When you push one of the letters, it says the letter aloud in a clear child's voice and also displays it on the screen. The large button to the left of the screen plays four different versions of the alphabet song I believe two singing, two just instrumental. The screen also displays the appropriate letters as the song plays. There is an on/off switch and a volume control (which I feel would be better if it weren't so easy for little hands to control because it can get quite speaker-bustingly loud, but that's me). I didn't know until I read another review today that you can change the color on the display by turning the "handles" on the sides of the thing, but you can!

HIGHLY Recommended!

I have bought many different toys the last couple years. They all seem to be about the same as far as innovation, but this toy and brand really stand out. I bought mine at target for quite a bit less than here. This would be a great gift for older infants and toddlers. Each letter of the alphabet plays a different tune (not sure how many songs are included, but it's certainly nicer than other toys as far as the music it plays) and it sings the alphabet song while flashing the letters on the small screen. There is a neat volume control and the things that look like buttons on the side are actually a big dial that changes the display color from blue to red to orange. If you are remotely interested in this product I say buy it. I noticed on the display several other stand out products. They sell a set of keys (same brand) that are really neat and their version of the cell phone is much nicer than the couple I have purchased. This toy company is doing it right. I have only had this toy one night so I can't make comment about its durability, but every part seems solid.

This toy is fantastic. My daughter is 11 months and needed something more interactive. I am reluctant to get her electronic toys but thought this was worth a shot. She loves it! She quickly figured out which key plays songs, took her a little while longer to figure out to stop pushing it so the song would play all the way. It's been fun for me to see her learning to use the toy. The songs it plays (4, I think) are sweet and not annoying. It has a volume switch and an on/off switch (which I don't use as she'd be too disappointed to try to play the music and have it not play).

We were about to go on our first long road trip last weekend, and I wanted to get our son a new toy to hopefully help with the long ride. I picked up two toys by this brand and chose this one because of the age range (we all want to get more use for the money, right?). We also didn't have any other toys with letters other than the Zaney Zoo Wooden Activity Cube (same brand as this). Our son is 14 months old and is absolutely enamored by this toy. It kept him occupied for nearly 3 hours, and I thought he would surely be sick of it after that, but no! Every time he sees it, he wants to play with it.

He has already thrown it on the ground and other than some scratches, which are to be expected, everything still works like new.

My 8-year-old niece saw the toy and thought it was neat as well. She even recognized it as a Blackberry-esque toy.

..and durable! These are the perfect size for my 6 month old's hands. He can pick them up, transfer them from hand to hand. He loves to chew on them and suck on them (ew!). They can be easily tossed into the washing machine, which is a must for any toy used by a teething baby.

He also digs the crate they came in. Strangely enough, so does my 4 yr old, who I had to locate and retrieve the toys from several times the first day.

Gave this as a gift to a friend of mine who is a vegetarian and just had a baby. She was excited that her child was going to have vegetable companions and apparently her husband is big on organic only products for their kid, so it was a double win. I can't attest to the durability, but it's been several months and I've heard reports that the child loves holding the carrot and have had no reports of fraying or any deterioration of the product.

K's Kids My Singing Birthday Cake Toy

The only cake with candles that the kid can light by his/her self. I got this for my daughter who has started imaginative play. Theere are 8 cake pieces that are attached with velcro, so it actually cuts into slices and my daughter gets thrilled to pur it on plates to serve it. Its very simple to light the candles, just switch on the lighter/wand then press it against the candle and it will light up, then move on to the next candle and do the same. It does no break as the cake pieces are like stuffed toys, it is easily washable too. My daughter cuts this cake several times a day. It took her a while to figure out how to light the candles with the wand. Untill then, she would press the strawberry button and it would sing the B'day song and the candle would blink by itself. But once she figured out how to light the candles, it was more fun.

Amazon had the best price at the time i bought it [ $ 30 ], whereas, other stores and websites had it for $ 50.

The cake would be fun, but like another reviewer the sound functions did not work. The candles light, which is very neat, but no sound. I emailed the manufacturer, and they say they will replace the base, but we have yet to see it. This seems like it may be a recurrent problem, so be sure that you check the product, before giving it as a gift. I assumed that it was the batteries, but replacing them had no effect.

When my almost 4 year old son requested a birthday cake toy for his birthday, I showed him many different cakes online and this is the one he chose. He was very excited to receive it and played with it with his therapist. I actually thought it was more interactive. When you press a pink strawberry button, it plays a happy birthday tune (not a song with human voice), and as soon as it finished, the candles start blinking (always 3 times). The red dog wand has a button that lights the star on top. It does not light up the candles (I guess a child is supposed to pretend that it does). What is the fun? Nevertheless, both of my boys enjoyed it. However, in less than a month of reasonable non-abusive play the sound broke. No more birthday tune. Press pink strawberry, nothing happens for several seconds and then candles blink. My non-verbal autistic son was pulling my hand towards the toy to make it work but I could not. I changed the batteries and cleaned up the contacts but no luck. Emailed the company, answered all their questions but no results. I think this toy is way overpriced for the what you get, it was a splurge for my family and I regret purchasing it. But my children enjoyed it while it worked, hence 2 stars.

Update: I emailed the company about the issue and received the replacement of the broken part (mailed from Hong Kong via registered mail). Now the sound works and my children are happy again. Regarding lighting the candles, I have to admit that I did not figure it out. When we received the replacement, I observed our therapist lighting the candles with my son and was very surprised. I asked her if the broken toy did the same and she said yes. Turns out, you have to position star very specifically on the candle and wait for several seconds which I did not do initially. So the candles do light up! She said blowing did not work. I tried today with the new working toy and I blew the candles and heard cheers! Very cool! So, the cake is really interactive! Live and learn!

This was my infant son's favorite toy. It is safe non-toxic wood and he liked to shake it. It has stimulating colors, similar to other Haba toys, but the noise and movement made this his favorite. Got this as a gift and have been searching for a 2nd one. My 9mo used to sit in any public high chair, bend down, and start knawing on the handle bar. This toy has been the perfect solution for my teething baby. It's soft and acts as a barrier against the germs left behind by others. Of course, I wipe down the chairs now too, but I really like this toy. I also love how the jingling animals are strongly attached, meaning my baby has something to play with, without the risk of it dropping to the ground. My only frustration is that I can't throw this in the washer with his laundry. It's a spot-clean only type of toy, which is more of a hassle. Overall a worthwhile toy if you can overlook that detail.

These toys are soft and adorable! On top of that you're giving them a real star! How cool is that? Half of my grandkids are now planning to be astronauts! They use the Nasa site to check on their stars and usually end up widening their search. The teens and preteens really enjoy the game site. Jellycat Bashful Monkey 12"

Bought this toy back in September 2010 for my little one. Actually he cried to the point where I couldn't resist and just gave in and purchased it. I paid $16.99 at the Gap and even though I have found it cheaper on other sites, I would've paid double for it. This Monkey is soft and cuddly. Monkey, as we call him, goes everywhere. In the car, to the grocery store, to bed. It's cute and my son (who just turned one) absolutely loves him. It is our favorite toy. He'll 'talk' and babble morning, noon, and night.

The only regret is that I didn't purchase two of them, one as a back up. I'm currently searching for a 'stand in' if by chance Monkey somehow gets misplaced. I'll wait til it comes back in stock and I will buy at least one of these.

The toy is a true joy to have around. No bells, no whistles, no batteries required. And the best part, I've washed him several times on the gentle cycle and put him in the dryer on gentle and he always comes out nice just like the day we bought him.

A friend gave my son this monkey (hers was purchased from the Gap) when he was about 7 months old. He now is a little over a year old and loves this monkey. So much that I am afraid how he will cope if we ever lose it or it gets destroyed, so I bought another here to ensure that he will always have his favorite monkey. Not sure what to expect so I was pleasantly surprised. The monkey is cute and very soft. My kids love it. Quality seems to be above average. I would recommend it.

I have a few of these Jellycat bashful 12" stuff toys. I think the best are this monkey and the woodland bunny. This monkey is nice because the fur on the face is shorter, creating the feel of a different texture. The woodland bunny has a nice color to it and also for some reason, Jellycat bunnies are made cuter than other Jellycat animals.

We received this toy as a baby shower gift for our now 4 month old son. At first, he loved this toy. It was his favorite out of all his many other toys. I was looking at it, and saw a white speck on the coys "pink" face, as I tried to rub it off, the pink paint CAME WITH IT!!!!!! The cows mouth & hooves are actually paint!! And they rub off so easily that it would take nothing for my son to get the paint off with his mouth and swallow it. I think this is a horrible product, WHY WOULD A COMPANY MAKE A BABY TOY WITH PAINT?! It's really such a shame too because my son really did love this toy. I wouldn't reccommend this to anyone.

This is the perfect toy! it is fun & educational. I love that each flashcard is translated into 3 different languages!

My 8 month old son will occassionally pick up the toy to use the ring as a teether but he does not care too much for the pictures. I wouldn't buy it for my next child but it was as I expected. Jacob may enjoy it more as he gets older.

I gave this toy as a gift to a friend who had a baby last spring. As soon as we handed it to her (she is now about 8 months old) she immediately put it up to her face and started chewing on the colorful tags, it was so cute! Punjabi Flashcards

I really like this concept as it promotes bilingualism, which has been shown to increase language receptors in the growing brain. The cards were a nice size and had cute illustrations. The only issue I had was that I wish they were a little more sturdy and thick. We bought them for our 22 month old and he has already wrecked them!

Yu Gi Oh Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon Limited Edition Foil Trading Card

This game is a relatively new event in the life of my pre-teen son. He has two of these Dragon cards that he is very proud of. After having joined the Upper Deck Yu-Gi-Oh league, we found out how difficult this game is to play. Funny, though, he was the only under-13 year old there!!

Studying these cards and this game as a whole, has helped him focus and practice study skills in a way that he finds fun and enjoyable. So, although I am not looking forward to getting one of these for my birthday, I am more than happy to see my child exercise his imagination in a productive (and comparatively inexpensive) way.
