My granddaughter loves the Princess Baby books. She enjoys holding her Princess Baby doll while Gran reads the book to her. Well worth itI love all things Karen Katz and was adding books to my collection for my 3rd child coming in June. I saw this doll and thought it would be perfect for my daughter. It is very cute and will be a great 1st doll for her. The size is perfect and she is soft. The tag says it is for any age but you would have to remove the crown and shoes to make it safe for a baby/toddler.Monday, March 17, 2014

DC Comics Superman Baby Bunting Costume
Buy DC Comics Superman Baby Bunting Costume Now
my baby hated having this on.. good photo op.. but had to take it off right away... which was ok since she is too little to go trick or treating anyhow... i think the problem was that the opening was relatively small compared to her outfits so it was a bit of a pain getting her into it... it looks like some of her sleepers in the picture which you would put on from the bottom but this you had to go in through the neck as it is sealed at the feet... i guess this is what a bunting outfit is?... also i thought that it was cotton like her other outfits but was more like a felt like material i guess what one could expect from a costume... but still all in all satisfied with the purchase... it was inexpensive enough that i now have the pictures of her in it... would have done it all again...Read Best Reviews of DC Comics Superman Baby Bunting Costume Here
I put down 1 star for educational value because it's not a toy but a costume obviously. It was an adorable costume especially if you like Superman. It was very warm for him considering it was a bit chilly, he wore a onesie with feet underneath and was plenty warm. It was a little big on him but he was only 2 months old but was great because when it started cooling off that night I could put his little hands inside the sleeves but overall it was great!! I give it a big thumbs up!!! It was cute and it kept my baby warm. It was a little short for my 4 month old though so the bottom wouldn't close good in the back. Other then that it's a fun costume for newborns.Monday, March 3, 2014
Lamaze Play & Grow Jacques the Peacock Take Along Toy
The shape of this toy also makes it easy to tuck into a car seat. While a lot of toys seem to fall out of the car seat once baby starts playing with them, the flatness of the feather panels and the flat bottom of the peacock body seem to help this toy stay in the seat. Also, the feather panels are easy for baby to reach out for an edge, grab and pull back into reach.
For these reasons, we made our peacock a "car only" toy so that our little one, who was not fond of car travel at 4 months, would have something he liked in the car. This toy was an immediate favorite even before our little one really became interested in these types of toys.
The back of the peacock feathers have different black and white panels which makes the toy interesting even when the toys happens to be upside down. The cute face and large eyes appealed to our little guy and were worthy of cues and smiles a friend indeed. I could not be happier with this toy. Our favorite Lamaze character!I've never written a review for any baby toys before, but I'm going to make an exception for Jacques. We call him Pierre the Peacock, because alliteration is more fun than consonance, but I digress.
As far as our 5-month-old is concerned, Jacques is the greatest thing that has ever existed. Our son goes absolutely insane at the mere sight of Jacques. Even a month ago, when he was not such a grabby baby, he wanted to touch all parts of Jacques simultaneously. With great intensity, he wants to stare at Jacques and never look away; he wants to squeak and scream and laugh at Jacques as loud as he can. His love for Jacques is metaphysical.
In fact, if it was possible to be a little too excited by a toy, Jacques might potentially fit that bill. Sometimes our son is overwhelmed by his excitement for Jacques. Jacques is baby cocaine.
Our only complaint is that we wish Jacques was machine-washable. He fell on the garage floor and got very dirty, and now our son spends his days in a deep, Jacques-less, existential depression. C'est la vie...

Around 10 weeks, my baby finally started noticing the Lamaze toys we had around the house we had the Emily doll first and now that is her ultimate favorite toy. I just purchased Jacques for her, and she loves him too. The back of the toy is patterns of black and white fabric, and has the crinkly sound babies seem to love. Each of the "feathers" has a different interest point a squeaker, a soft bulb, a mirror, and satin touch ribbons. This is a really great deal, too Babies R Us sells the same toy for $12.99 as of today.Read Best Reviews of Lamaze Play & Grow Jacques the Peacock Take Along Toy Here
We saw this in Babies-R-Us and our little baby couldn't stop laughing when she saw it. I think it's the combination of the BIG EYES, the squeaker in one of the wings, the mirror in another wing, the krinkly sounds and the bright colors. The hook on top is useful for hanging from the carseat or from the swing - however, if you are just trying to make Jacque dance for your baby, the hook kind of gets in the way but that is a minor note.
Overall, I highly recommend Jacque - she has not tired of him yet and everytime she sees good ol' Jacque, her face lights up and she babbles at him.

We have both the Lamaze Jacques the Peacock and the Lamaze Freddie the Firefly. The baby instantly took to the firefly absolutely loving it from 3 months to 6 months. The peacock was much harder for him to hang on to and despite being similar in style was ignored. If I had a choice I would go for the firefly instead... This toy is WAY overpriced. I payed $11.00 for this (new on EBay) and would not pay much more. Sure, it's a fun and educational toy for my son, but he has another plain shape sorter and it is just as great and only 10.99. I agree with another reviewer that there is a major design flaw too. My son walks away or hits it because he gets a little frustrated that he can't get all of the shapes and envelopes into the box-it gets too full and you have to shake it around. Overall, it's cute, fun and educational for my son but I never would have purchased this at its original price.Sunday, February 9, 2014
Fisher-Price Go Baby Go! Bat and Wobble Penguin
We have had no problems with this toy. You put in the 80's favorite size of batteries (C, nothing else but the Fisher-Price Open Top Take-Along Swing Rainforest and an old boom box run on C batteries) and it's weighted fine. Maybe it didn't pop up because batteries weren't in there. The batteries add weight to make the whole thing work as intended.
It wasn't hard to blow up. The valve is more "industrial" than most valves, so I agree that it takes more than blowing up a small beach ball, but I see that as added quality and not a knock.
The only issue so far, is that at medium range, our daughter is scared of the blasted thing. Close up, she is fine with it. She "bats" it and no problem. Far away, daddy hits it and she laughs. But at two-ish feet, she screams in bloody murder at the scary attacking penguin with the creepy clown-like "huuuuh-huuuh-huuuh-uh-huh" that it makes when "batted."
And the last thing that is just my two cents, but oh well. There is no real educational value to this toy. It's fun. But really, I see it as beginning self-defense training. It says somewhere on the box that it teaches your kid to "bat." What the heck is "batting" but "hitting?" I'm all about the real toys and sick of this PC stuff, which is why I'll train her to kick the thing in a month from her Johnny Jump-Up. But whatever. I thought I'd just add that. When we got this we assumed that it was like the old style we had when we were younger where you could bat at it and it would fall down and then pop back up. Nope. It would fall down and then just lay there it wouldn't pop back up because of the way the battery compartment was. If you gently tap it with one finger it would wobble, but when my 12 mo old pushed it, it just fell over and did nothing. I had to keep setting it back up. My baby was bored after pushing it over 3 or 4 times. You'd be better off with the older style that doesn't use batteries.

First off, it was difficult to blow up. Then once I had it filled finally...the plug kept popping out. I had to tape it down! The noises it makes are very quiet. And after just a week it started to make an annoying buzzing noise, instead of the intended noises. It was a total waste of time and money.Read Best Reviews of Fisher-Price Go Baby Go! Our baby took one look at this toy and crawled up on Daddy's head to get away from it. We waited a month and tried again but even at 9 months, the site of the Zombie Penguin as it is now known, was like seeing a clown. Must be the eyes. And the cat can't play with it because the toy falls over when pushed a lays there. I thought it would bounce back up. You can't bat and wobble it cause it just lays there. Tried to give it to a friend but her baby was petrified too. We had to hide him in the closet.Want Fisher-Price Go Baby Go! Bat and Wobble Penguin Discount?
I bought this for my 11 month old because it reminded me of the blow up penguin that Sid the Science Kid has. My daughter wasn't scared by it like some, but it is not what I was thinking it would be. The bottom of the toy is hard plastic (where the batteries go) and my daughter has toppled on it multiple times and landed face first on the hard plastic! I don't think this toy is particularly safe for little ones because of this. Also, my daughter likes to pick it up by the tufts and slam it down onto the floor. That is fine for carpet but not so good if you have wood floors.Like another reviewer said, the toy also doesn't pop back up everytime. Sometimes it just stays on it's side.
In summary, if your child is just sitting and not mobile this toy might be okay. If your child can crawl or walk stay away from this toy.

Sassy Developmental Bumpy Ball
Update: Now at 10 months old, my baby appears uninterested in the toy.My daughter loves this ball so much! I included a picture of her playing with it when she was just 4 months old. She still enjoys it now and she's 7.5 months old. Now she's trying to crawl after it instead of just holding it too, it's so cute. She also loved staring at this ball when she was a newborn.
It does not vibrate as some others complained about, however, it never claimed to vibrate anywhere on the description, so perhaps those people should just read what they're getting before instead of giving it a bad review after they were so careless in choosing a product... Just my opinion.
If you want a ball with vibrant contrasting colors that are easy for babies to see, big knobs that are easy for baby to grab and rattling beads that help teach baby cause and effect, then this is a great one to choose. :)
UPDATE: At 11 months she still plays with this ball. She also plays with all her other balls and has fun rolling them across the room or chasing after them or just throwing them over her shoulder hehe. She also uses this one as a rattle sometimes too since she loves anything that makes noise. :)

I like the bumpy soft playful ball. But my twin boys don't play with it much.
They are 7 months so maybe will in the next couple of months. This ball is colorful, easy to hold, chew on, and makes fun noises. When I first received it I accidentally dropped it off my bed onto my hardwood floors. I just knew I had cracked the hard plastic piece that contains the smaller beads and balls. It did not break or crack from the fall. If the ends came apart and the smaller pieces came out, they could cause a choking problem. Knowing that this toy is durable and safe gave me piece of mind in allowing my granddaughter to play with it.I read the reviews that people with small infants loved this ball. My little one did not have any interest in the ball until she was close to 9 months. She now loves to roll and try to bounce it back and forth. And for some amazing reason it is the only toy that she didn't try to put in her mouth when she first saw it.

It seems that someone is going around and down-voting all of the negative reviews of this product, no matter how clearly written or factual. If you read through them, though, you will see the same opinions expressed again and again:First, the Amazon price is way too high. You can find this toy in most big box retailers for around $12-15.
Second, the buttons are very stiff and hard for young toddlers to use.
This was our experience too. Our baby liked seeing the animals pop up, and she figured out how each lever or knob or button was supposed to work; she just wasn't strong enough to make it happen. You really have to have some strong fingers to use this toy.
Since doing the right thing doesn't work, the educational value is nil. Baby can only play with it if we help her push the buttons, which defeats the whole point of exploring and playing.

We have the lime green version of this toy and it's a big hit around here. I was actually kind of surprised, considering my girls usually go gaga for the electronic, singing toys, but they both love this. It was one of the first toys my younger daughter could manipulate on her own. It's great for teaching some of those finer motor skills. The button pop-up is their favorite because it squeaks when you press it. My one complaint is that the twist key-type one has to be turned a little more after the animal pops up to get it to go back down again and the girls don't really understand that concept just yet. I don't know if that's a quirk specific to our toy, though. So if you're looking for a cute, durable toy that doesn't require batteries, you are in the right place!Want Playskool Busy Poppin' Pals (Colors May Vary) Discount?

VTech - Peek At Me Bunny
This electronic learning plush doll engages babies and toddlers by stimulating the senses through interactive play. Using music, lights, sounds and touch this huggable friend makes my son laugh, smile and giggle both day and night.
Press the left foot to turn the bunny "on". You'll be able to choose a fun daytime mode or a soothing nighttime mode.
In the daytime mode, the bunny sings and his tummy lights up. Press the triangle or the square in his hands or the circle on his foot (I have found that they all do the same thing with the exception of one phrase that describes what is on that hand or foot) to learn colors, shapes and play song games. He will say things like "I have a yellow triangle in my hand", "I have an orange square in my hand", "I have a pink circle on my foot", "I have two big feet", "Tap your feet!", "Clap your hands!" and "I have 2 small hands".
The VTech plush Peek at Me Bunny has two playful sensors for an interactive play experience. The sound sensor activates peaceful sounds, endearing phrases and short tunes in the "night" mode. In the day mode, after he says "Clap your hands" , if you clap your hands, he will say a rewarding phrase like "wow this is fun!"
The light sensor engages infants in a game of peek-a-boo in the "playtime" mode, by bringing the ears down to cover the eyes. Apparently there are magnets in each ear that activate this mode when touched to the eyes. (But I have to be honest, I could not get this feature to work for the life of me!)
In the night mode, the bunny plays five minutes of continuous lullaby music to help calm babies after a busy day of playtime. The light on his tummy fades slowly in and out. After the unit has powered down, if the sound sensor detects several seconds of consistent sound, like crying, he will play two soft melodies. How cool is that? This is probably my favorite feature of the bunny.
Even though the recommended age for this toy is 6 to 36 months, I feel for educational purposes, it is best suited for a child under 2. As far as being a soothing friend, well, lets just say even *I* enjoy the lullabies every now and again when falling asleep!well baby girl likes the music but thats about it. she plays more with plain stuffed dolls that do nothing. maybe its her preference but its just a stuffed bunny thats stomach lights up while it sings or says something

My baby got this bunny as a gift. The daytime mode is annoying, but the nighttime mode has proved itself priceless. I wish you could set it to day or night on the back instead of with its foot button. my daughter changes it at night by rolling onto its foot and it starts laughing and singing, but in nighttime mode when she crys it will kick on with lullabys and most of the time put her back to sleep! I just wish it was ONLY nighttime bunny! My one year old got this toy at 9 months and has used it as her soothing sleep buddy. My daughter wakes up 3 or 4 times a night, the toy has a sensor that would pick up on her crying and the bunny would start playing lullabies again. Now she is one year old and the sound sensor has quit working. She has been so used to being soothed by the bunny that we are struggling to soothe her back to sleep when she wakes up. 5 stars for my being adorable and making my daughter love her, two stars for the sensor going out after only three months.the melodies are really nice and my niece loves to listen to them. it is a simple toy but well it does the work
