This little monkey is very cute but also very loud and attention-seeking (you know the type of toy; he keeps calling for more play time if he feels neglected for even a moment ha). There is an "off" button but no volume control. If I were rating him as a mom, I would deduct a star for these reasons but as I'm reviewing him on behalf of my 2.5 year old, I'll leave him with his 5 stars as she loves his songs, the ease with which she can change his outfits, his catchy songs, etc. He is great for reinforcing colors, refining motor control, modeling good manners ("please," "thank you!") and following instructions. His red hat has to go on a certain way to stick (side-ways, sort of -my husband had to show us), but that's no deal breaker. A bonus is that his shoes are connected, so there's no way to lose one (it's all or nothing!). If your baby likes this, she (or he) might like the Minnie Mouse kit I think by Fisher Price? where you can dress Minnie by clicking in her (slightly more pliable) plastic dresses, hats, and shoes (which are also one piece). This monkey is a great alternative if you're looking for a more gender neutral (and louder?) option and to be honest, the monkey has been more engaging for my toddler because of the music. We've only had him for two days so I'll update if this changes but she's truly been very excited by this little guy and sits playing with him for long stretches of time (i.e., more than 15 min!). We bought him for twelve bucks and change, so might be worth waiting for a sale although I do think there might be a limited window where he'll be interesting to a toddler (and at 2.5 years old, I think my daughter will probably outgrow him within the next month or two).

I bought this monkey for my 18 month old for christmas, he has not gotten a chance to play with it but his dad and I have!! It is very fun and teaches alot. Daily life skills, colors and more. It also sings songs according to what he has on. For example he will say put on my yellow pajamas and once it is put on he will say thank you and then sing a song about pajamas and say goodnight. This is hands down one of the best fun and learning toys my son will have this christmas!!

This toy is LOUD. It's so loud that nothing else about it matters.

Sure, the clothes go on and off and maybe it says cute things, but when it's on, all you'll know about it is how LOUD it is.

No, there's no volume control. I might resort to putting glue in the slots over the speaker, but it might damage the speaker. Since the toy is unusable as it is, that doesn't worry me so much. Right now, it's packed away while I decide how (and if) I can make it softer. I fear for my (and my child's) hearing.

It's sad and terrible because the idea for this toy is so cute. VTech, please include a QUIET mode. And, really, this volume is damagingly LOUD, too loud for even a "loud" mode.

As soon as I saw this toy on Amazon.com, I knew I had to buy it for my daughter, even though she is much younger than the recommended age (she was 6 months at the time). Now, at 1 year old, she simply loves it, even though I still sometimes need to help her 'dress' the monkey. It is a very unique and sturdy toy, as cute as it can be, and I am sure she will use it for a long time and that it will still be in pristine shape for her siblings.

I have one complaint though: I would love to be able to buy extra pieces of clothing for it. 8 pieces is fair enough for a start, but I quickly started to wish that there were more pairs of shoes, glasses, a cap, etc. Not only because it would be more fun for the child, but also because when the monkey says it needs its green shoes to go out, I am not sure if my baby puts whatever pair of shoes she finds on, or if she actually would make a difference between a green pair and a red one. And since this toy aims at teaching the name of pieces of clothing, why not do a more complete job at it and bring extras to the table?

A suggestion for VTech: I am not usually a fan of 'girly toys', as in general I prefer unisex toys. But for this one, I am sure girls would love a girly version of the toy, because they would be able to understand when it is appropriate to wear a dress and when a more casual outfit is best. And actually, a girl monkey would have the advantage to be able to wear a dress or a skirt as well as shorts, which would give baby the opportunity to learn about clothing for both sexes.

Iplay Lobster Tub Caddy

Very cute toy caddy. The kids love it and it holds a nice amount of bath toys. The claws are an added bonus to play with! The only complaint is that the suction is not great. I little double sided tape in the suction cup works just fine to keep the bracket up.

This is a great alternative for the frog & Ladybug options of the same concept... however, the suction pads are poor. They don't stick well... often times sliding down the wall. BUT! BUT! My son LOVES this thing! Every since he was able to be spaciously aware of things he would look for it in the bath, now we use the "claws" for play at 6 months... soon the whole thing will be in the bath & the beach!

These are perfect! Exactly what I had anticipated. And they shipped super fast. On a few areas there is stuffing coming out of them but you just need to pull that out past the stitching and it has been fine after that.

Slinky Dog Retro

I bought this toy for my son. He loves it a lot! He enjoys playing with it along with his Mr. Potato Head(s). One thing I do not like is that the string is attached between Slinky's eyes instead of the chest, like the one in the movie. My son doesn't mind, so overall I like it because it makes my son happy.

I got this for my 10 year old niece. She isn't so much into playing with toys anymore,but I knew she liked Toy Story.

She loved the fact that there is a real toy with a real metal slinky.

The toy cant really 'walk' with the string on carpet but does pretty well on tile floor.

Its not an everyday toy because the Slinky can kink.

Once the toy is done it makes a great show piece my niece doesnt put it away in the closet she keeps it displayed on her bookshelf and takes it down from time to time.

I got this for my 9 year old who is a dog lover. After reading the other reviews, I was hesitant because they all talked about how it is cute, but not really mean to be played with. But after receiving it, it is more durable then it seems IF it is played with correctly. The string is way too short, but I think they do that for safety reasons. My 9 year old plays with it daily. She takes it for walks and very much enjoys it. I did give her the warnings about it being fragile and easy to break, So when not playing with it, it goes back in the box. Good toy for older kids, or more serious minded kids.

Sometimes she doesn't quite know what to do with toys that are big or overly detailed. But this fits little hands well. I've hooked it to her play gym and she enjoys rolling to her side to look at it too. I see there are some with 'cuter' patterns or colors; but overall I really do like this toy.

My daughter loves these clothes. She has her own overalls so she connects with this item very well. She is just two so she has trouble putting them on the doll by herself but with some help, she can do it. They are easy to put on and the quality is pretty nice but like real clothes, they are likely to deteriorate over time I suspect, especially the velcro to connect the straps. A good purchase nevertheless! It makes the doll much more fun!

Both my 4 year old and my 1 year old love these blocks...they stack them, climb on them, build with them, jump on them. They seem to be taking the beating quite nicely. Good quality. Take some space to store. But all in all we really like them.

I got these blocks for my nephew a few years ago he was probably about a year old. He and my niece, now 5 and 3 years old, still love playing with them! My 3 year old likes to stack these and knock them over. He also likes to tell me the different colors of the blocks. These blocks are very durable and can be sat on. They do tend to be a bit hard though, which is bad if your son throws things like mine does.

Chicco Count-with-Me Teddy Bear

I bought this bear because it speaks Spanish and English. I thought it would teach Spanish like some toys do, like say the word in English first then Spanish but it just has setting were you can change it to Spanish or English. The on and off switch is hard to turn on and off so I just left it on. I'm not really impressed with the activities the bear does. I guess because we had the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Learning Puppy and it has a verity of really cute songs on it and it is only $15.00 at amazon.

Doesn't have all the functions I hoped it would. Songs are catchy but not sure I would buy again. Super sensitive. Makes noise even when I'm nowhere near it. "Ha ha ha, where are you?" Makes me want to lock it up in another room. The off switch doesn't really work. I hope this doesn't go off in the middle of the night and wake up my son when he comes.

Our baby received this bear for Christmas, when they were 6 months old, and they've had it for 6 months now. The bear's feature set is somewhat limited, but our baby loves. One ear has "crinkly" material in it which he loves playing with for the texture and sound. The 3 buttons on the chest seem to be of high quality, and that is what our baby interacts with the most; they almost remind me of the buttons on the big video game cabinets of yesteryear. The buttons also light up, and there seems to be a phrase and a short song for each button (1, 2 and 3). The bear can be in English or Spanish, but it certainly doesn't seem to be setup to teach either language, just to give you the option. There are some motion sensors in the bear, where it will declare that it feels dizzy when moved quickly, etc. The on/off button is a bit trickier to use than the chest buttons, but they are worth using, because the bear will speak up after not being played with for a while "where are you?" and "night night". Bumping the doll with your foot will wake it back up, so you have to be careful when you're dealing with a light sleeper; best to shut it off. The bear has other features on it, like a paw that is "ticklish", but so far, our baby only plays with the ear and the chest buttons. Our baby seems attached to this particular toy, even though we have other stuffed animals with similar features, so it's a winner from our point of view.

Very cute well made toy. However, a little top heavy and falls over when trying to make a turn. Also, the cord to pull him is a little too short (an easy fix just add some more rope or ribbon). May get frustrating for little ones. I got it to go with my peacock themed nursery and it looks adorable.

Chicco Colors Mobile

I bought this for my, then, 4 month old daughter. She had always been interested in mobiles, and we decided to get one that moved on its own. The reason I chose this mobile specifically is because the advertisements on the website made it seem like the lights on the mobile were much brighter than they actually are. When you put the pieces of fabric over the lights, the lights are invisible. Without the fabric, the lights are still barely visible. You also can't just have the mobile move in its own. You HAVE to play the music for that. I returned the product in an instant. I would not recommend this product to anyone! I'm sure there are plenty of better mobiles out there that are cheaper, too.

I purchased this almost 2 years ago for my son, from another company. It looks much more gender neutral in person. I was specifically looking for something simple that played classical music. My son spent his first 6 months in my room and his first mobile was too annoying. This one is perfect. The music box has a light up button that is easy to push and my son quickly learned how to kick it on. The mobile arm comes off so when the child is older they can still have a music box. I read the other reviews and have to disagree about the fairy lights. The red and yellow were plenty bright enough, but yes the blue was very hard to see. I only gave it 4 stars because the thing died after a year. I would buy this again, in fact it is why I'm on Amazon right now to find this for a friend.

I bought this when my daughter was around 5 months. I love the fairies on it! It has great colors and my baby seems to really enjoy it. I don't give it 5 stars because the lights in the little canopies are pointless. You honestly can't even see them when they're on. Aside from that, it's a great mobile. I would recommend this to a friend. :)

Baby Einstein Symphony Sounds Baby Newton Musical Pals Lion (Plush)

Was not impressed with this at all, found out after I bought it that I paid way to much. It was small, the melody it plays is so short and is only one melody. Not worth $25 that I paid Amazon for. Looks like I paid about double the price that I could have got it for.

My five month-old son's face lights up whenever he sees this lion. He loves the song and he moves towards it whenever he hears it. I'm a happy mama!

This is a wonderful little baby ring toy by a company that screams quality. Soft and safe, and for a baby girl, just perfect. Right now, the Steiff tag is of particular interest to her, and it's a favorite. Great baby shower gift...even as a package trimmer for your newest "little lamb." Highly recommend.

Chomp & Clack Alligator by Melissa & Doug

We purchased this product at a local educational toy store for my 1 year old for his first birthday. As far as its use as a walker, it is VERY sturdy. We have owned plastic walkers in the past and this one is substantially sturdier (as in, it won't tip over as easily when baby pulls up on it) It does require some basic assembly, I think it was just putting two screws in. The wheels have a rubber ring around them so it gets very good traction on wood or carpeted floors. As the toy is pushed the alligators open and close their mouths at regular intervals. Great fun for chomping sisters' barbie dolls. All three of my boys (ages 1, 2, and 4) LOVE this toy and frequently fight over it (so that could be good OR bad depending on how you look at it!) The only caveat to this toy is the NOISE, when pushed quickly it lives up to the 'clack' part of the name, it clacks LOUDLY. That is the only reason I didn't give this toy a 5. However, I highly recommend it.

My one year old grandson loves this toy. He pushes it up and down the halls of our house with a huge grin on his face. Walking behind him makes his parents laugh because he jauntily struts as he pushes. The toy has helped him with coordination and balance while he is having fun. He took his first steps just a few days ago. I don't think he considered this achievement nearly as enjoyable as pushing his alligator.

My son received this for his first birthday from my mom and he LOVES it. He was just starting to pull up and stand when he got this. I think it really helped him learn to walk. It is very sturdy, only moves when my little guy pushes with a fair amount of force (meaning it doesn't start rolling away when he is using it to stand and get his balance) and it is noisy in a fun way! Also, the little bugs on the cross bar are fun to bat at when your little one is not feeling like walking or standing. I highly recommend this walker. I am confident that this will be a favorite for all my kids (we plan to have 5 and my son is our first, so that speaks both to the quality of the product and how much fun it is). And it was a breeze to put together. Two screws to attach the handle to the base and you are done!

I bought this product for my 9 month old son who was already rearranging our furniture for fun. It's a very cute, easily assembled toy and he's enjoyed it a lot. It moves a lot slower on carpet but that's good for a beginner. I would recomend this to anyone.
