This little monkey is very cute but also very loud and attention-seeking (you know the type of toy; he keeps calling for more play time if he feels neglected for even a moment ha). There is an "off" button but no volume control. If I were rating him as a mom, I would deduct a star for these reasons but as I'm reviewing him on behalf of my 2.5 year old, I'll leave him with his 5 stars as she loves his songs, the ease with which she can change his outfits, his catchy songs, etc. He is great for reinforcing colors, refining motor control, modeling good manners ("please," "thank you!") and following instructions. His red hat has to go on a certain way to stick (side-ways, sort of -my husband had to show us), but that's no deal breaker. A bonus is that his shoes are connected, so there's no way to lose one (it's all or nothing!). If your baby likes this, she (or he) might like the Minnie Mouse kit I think by Fisher Price? where you can dress Minnie by clicking in her (slightly more pliable) plastic dresses, hats, and shoes (which are also one piece). This monkey is a great alternative if you're looking for a more gender neutral (and louder?) option and to be honest, the monkey has been more engaging for my toddler because of the music. We've only had him for two days so I'll update if this changes but she's truly been very excited by this little guy and sits playing with him for long stretches of time (i.e., more than 15 min!). We bought him for twelve bucks and change, so might be worth waiting for a sale although I do think there might be a limited window where he'll be interesting to a toddler (and at 2.5 years old, I think my daughter will probably outgrow him within the next month or two).

I bought this monkey for my 18 month old for christmas, he has not gotten a chance to play with it but his dad and I have!! It is very fun and teaches alot. Daily life skills, colors and more. It also sings songs according to what he has on. For example he will say put on my yellow pajamas and once it is put on he will say thank you and then sing a song about pajamas and say goodnight. This is hands down one of the best fun and learning toys my son will have this christmas!!

This toy is LOUD. It's so loud that nothing else about it matters.

Sure, the clothes go on and off and maybe it says cute things, but when it's on, all you'll know about it is how LOUD it is.

No, there's no volume control. I might resort to putting glue in the slots over the speaker, but it might damage the speaker. Since the toy is unusable as it is, that doesn't worry me so much. Right now, it's packed away while I decide how (and if) I can make it softer. I fear for my (and my child's) hearing.

It's sad and terrible because the idea for this toy is so cute. VTech, please include a QUIET mode. And, really, this volume is damagingly LOUD, too loud for even a "loud" mode.

As soon as I saw this toy on Amazon.com, I knew I had to buy it for my daughter, even though she is much younger than the recommended age (she was 6 months at the time). Now, at 1 year old, she simply loves it, even though I still sometimes need to help her 'dress' the monkey. It is a very unique and sturdy toy, as cute as it can be, and I am sure she will use it for a long time and that it will still be in pristine shape for her siblings.

I have one complaint though: I would love to be able to buy extra pieces of clothing for it. 8 pieces is fair enough for a start, but I quickly started to wish that there were more pairs of shoes, glasses, a cap, etc. Not only because it would be more fun for the child, but also because when the monkey says it needs its green shoes to go out, I am not sure if my baby puts whatever pair of shoes she finds on, or if she actually would make a difference between a green pair and a red one. And since this toy aims at teaching the name of pieces of clothing, why not do a more complete job at it and bring extras to the table?

A suggestion for VTech: I am not usually a fan of 'girly toys', as in general I prefer unisex toys. But for this one, I am sure girls would love a girly version of the toy, because they would be able to understand when it is appropriate to wear a dress and when a more casual outfit is best. And actually, a girl monkey would have the advantage to be able to wear a dress or a skirt as well as shorts, which would give baby the opportunity to learn about clothing for both sexes.

This is a well constructed and beautiful toy. The wood is smooth, the colors are bright, and my 5-month old loves it. I'm just happy that we don't have to put one of those ugly plastic contraptions in the middle of the living room! We just put down a quilt anywhere and it works. I have just one criticism: the beeswax finish, which is smooth and lovely, smells like urine. In fact, we thought the dog had peed somewhere until we figured out it was the play gym! I tried airing it outside and wiping it down with a damp washcloth, but no luck. Now that we know what the odor is, it is more tolerable, but I do explain it to visitors so they don't think my house smells like pee.

We love our wooden play gym. I was very impressed with the quality, it went together easily and is very sturdy. The wood finish is smooth, and unlike the other reviewer, ours does NOT smell like urine, thank goodness!

Haba Ladybug Pacifier Chain

The Haba line of pacifier chains are top notch! We've had 3 different types, and I'm impressed with each. One we've had for over a year and it's begun to stretch out a little bit. The clasp is not as tight but still works well. Occasionally, I'll pop these in the dishwasher if they need a deep clean. I have gotten so many compliments from these. I've even had to order a couple for other people. They look amazing. Note: some haba chains are short and some are long, make sure you check the dimensions!

We used this chain pretty heavily for about 3 months. However, after repeated washing, the wood has started to split and crack and it can no longer be used.

The paint has faded a tad from constant gnawing, but my daughter loves this pacifier chain. It is also very cute.

I like that it is long enough that it rarely gets caught up so that she can't get her binky to her mouth, and short enough that it doesn't tangle. The clip is sturdy and we use it every day. She can always find her binky to put it back in her mouth.

My only minor complaint might be that it is a pain to get a binky on and off, you have to loop it through the chain itself... but it isn't enough to make me mark it down... this chain has been a lifesaver.

I love all our Haba toys (thank you, friends + family) and when I needed a binky-chain this was the one for us. Adorable design, solid, and simple to use. A little pricy, but you get what you pay for. Still works nine months later and no failings with the clasp, the string threaded through the wooden beads, the beads, all of it still as good as new. Baby liked teething on the beads a bit. Best of all, I wanted a chain that would be long enough to clip straight down on her clothes so she wouldn't risk any strangling and wouldn't fiddle with the clasp. This was the one! Sadly we are now broken of our binky habit but I still carry the beads and am thinking of threading a rattle or other toy, or using it with a snack trap to keep from getting thrown on the floor while in transit.

I wanted to buy balls for my 9 month old. I went crazy and bought all the Fisher Price "roll arounds". In that case save your money. You do not need all of them, your baby won't miss anything if she only gets one set. that being said these are probably the best buy of the all. she likes the colorful tags and the bumpy texture on them. There is one that. has different panels of materials that she hasn't really discovered yet. My baby plays with them off and on but they aren't her favorite. I think I find them more interesting than she does. They are made of very hard plastic. If she falls or lays on them they of course aren't very comfortable. I thought at firs Ii would include them in her ball pit. I quickly changed my mind when she hit me on the side of the face and it hurt quite a bit! I wouldn't want the kids to throw them at each other or fall on them. She likes to put them in her mouth. I'm sure they each feels different . They each have different textures. I think when she starts to roll them around she'll find the more interesting and fun to play with. A couple of them in this set make a chime noise when they are rolled or shook. I wouldn't say they are a waste of money and not to buy them. I just thought she'd be more entertained then she is. However, she might when she gets older.

I have a very physical learning 1 year old. He's stimulated by all different textures and noises. These balls are great and keep him busy for a while. They are probably best for a child in the 6 month-12 month range, but my 12 month old is getting a lot of use out of them.

This is a very cute alternative to just squirties in the bath. My daughter loves having me sprinkle her with the ball character and squirt is pretty big and floats in the bath. Overall, I think this is a nice durable bath toy that my daughter will enjoy playing with for a long time.

Cute product, just a little difficult to get unscrewed. Grandchild enjoys them with her little baths! Love that turtle, so cute.

Got these as a lightning deal and so the price was right. Just be warned, these toys are big. I was expecting small little toys that could fit in a 6 months old hand. I guess I didn't read that part. The turtle is like 8 inches big. So for now, my daughter plays with Nemo and the smaller parts until she is older then I will give her all the toys for her bath. It's cute though!

Our little 3mo old loves to munch on this and it has held up marvelously. We hand wash it in hot water and squeeze it out then hang by its hat from the towel rack to dry. The costume is cute but I had issues with keeping the velcro on the inside of the legs closed. This stacking Bear is SO adorable! It really is a creative and unique take on the ubiquitous stacking tower toy design you might find in most baby's toy collection, and the Bear's head on top is super cute! My 2 year old nephew loves it! It really keeps him occupied and it seems like he is really thinking and experimenting with the rings and shapes. The base has cute little teddy bear feet, and the teddy bear face topper is truly irresistible!

It can be stacked in different ways, using just the colored pieces or stacking the colored pieces alternating with the natural wood pieces which are in 4 different geometric shapes. My daughter has had the corrolle 12 inch tido doll for years. She was no longer playing with it as much as her other dolls so I decided to regift the doll to my infant son (who wanted a doll and I figured this one would make a nice baby Frankie). This is a super cute snowsuit for dolly. We have a 12" Melissa and Doug Baby Doll Jenna and she fits the Carolle 12" clothes beautifully. The suit has a couple of velcro closure at the front and is reasonably easy for a preschooler to get on and off. Anyone younger than 3 would probably need help unless they were very dexterous. It may not hold up well to serious rough play (maybe take out of the play date pot) and I do think the fabric will snag if caught but it really is too cute. The only negative is that the sleeves are a little short and look at bit three quarters. Overall I'm happy with this "tre chic" dolls outfit.

Sassy Chime Alongs Hanging Toy

I bought these toys (both the pelican and the frog) for my son even before he was born..We kept putting them on the carseat, on his bassinet, stroller, everywhere ..you name it.....Nothing.. no interest. He was turning somehow because of the gentle chime sound it makes, but sometimes it was getting him aggravated because it was there when he happened to startle and he was kicking it with his hands getting startled again even more :) I don't like the frog per se, I don't know ... the colors just dont do it for me...SO I have it thrown somewhere in a corner in here.

But now my son is 8 months old, and one morning after he's become impossible to handle during diaper change, I pulled the pelican from his toy basket to distract him from turning constantly. And from that moment it became his absolute favorite "rattle" and chewing toy. It is wet 24/7 either with his saliva or my disinfectant :)

So for those whose babies are still "young", give it sometime....And bring it back around 8 months...If still not interested then its just pure disinterest ... But overall is a great toy. so PLEASE don't give this toy 1,2 or 3 stars just for the simple fact that your baby is not interested in it..Especially after saying that is a great toy overall...Its not the toy's fault that your baby is simply not paying attention to it. Its the baby not the toy....

I thought my daughter (4 months) would love this given how much she loves her Sassy Go-Go bugs, but she really wasn't interested. It is cute and makes a nice chiming sound, but it doesn't seem to have the kind of properties that she's interested in right now: crunchy sounds, lots of things to chew on, etc. She's tried to chew on its feet and wings as well as the ribbons that decorate the body, but had a hard time getting a purchase on anything.

I keep it in the diaper bag to occupy her while changing a diaper on the road, but that's all I use it for.

I gave it 3-stars because it didn't interest my daughter very much, but it is a well-made toy. I have no complaints with the toy itself.

Chicco Count-with-Me Teddy Bear

I bought this bear because it speaks Spanish and English. I thought it would teach Spanish like some toys do, like say the word in English first then Spanish but it just has setting were you can change it to Spanish or English. The on and off switch is hard to turn on and off so I just left it on. I'm not really impressed with the activities the bear does. I guess because we had the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Learning Puppy and it has a verity of really cute songs on it and it is only $15.00 at amazon.

Doesn't have all the functions I hoped it would. Songs are catchy but not sure I would buy again. Super sensitive. Makes noise even when I'm nowhere near it. "Ha ha ha, where are you?" Makes me want to lock it up in another room. The off switch doesn't really work. I hope this doesn't go off in the middle of the night and wake up my son when he comes.

Our baby received this bear for Christmas, when they were 6 months old, and they've had it for 6 months now. The bear's feature set is somewhat limited, but our baby loves. One ear has "crinkly" material in it which he loves playing with for the texture and sound. The 3 buttons on the chest seem to be of high quality, and that is what our baby interacts with the most; they almost remind me of the buttons on the big video game cabinets of yesteryear. The buttons also light up, and there seems to be a phrase and a short song for each button (1, 2 and 3). The bear can be in English or Spanish, but it certainly doesn't seem to be setup to teach either language, just to give you the option. There are some motion sensors in the bear, where it will declare that it feels dizzy when moved quickly, etc. The on/off button is a bit trickier to use than the chest buttons, but they are worth using, because the bear will speak up after not being played with for a while "where are you?" and "night night". Bumping the doll with your foot will wake it back up, so you have to be careful when you're dealing with a light sleeper; best to shut it off. The bear has other features on it, like a paw that is "ticklish", but so far, our baby only plays with the ear and the chest buttons. Our baby seems attached to this particular toy, even though we have other stuffed animals with similar features, so it's a winner from our point of view.

Bright Starts Having a Ball Bop and Chomp Gator

My son got this for his first birthday and it is by far his favorite toy. I was amazed at how quickly he picked up on what to do with each of the balls; and he gets a kick out of matching the colored ball to the right hole. And he knows that it will make noise and flash lights when he pushes the balls in he gets so excited. When it starts playing a tune he will jump up with the mallet and do a little shimmy dance, so the toy is so worth it right there! I do get a little frustrated that it seems like after a month of continuous use (every day) that the holes almost seem stretched out and are not as sensitive though, so the toy doesn't always recognize that a ball went through. The mouth of the gator slides down really easily too and my son has to really work to get the ball out of it's mouth. Again....I guess it's a learning thing so he recognizes the ball is in there, but he doesn't understand why it won't come out on it's own all the time. Cute, nice to keep my son occupied, but not built for all the wear and tear little ones put on their toys.

My daughter got this for her first birthday. It's cute....baby likes it. However, I put her in the playpen with this toy while I did something on the computer. And I heard her start screaming from the next room. Poor baby's foot was caught in one of the ball holes. It was hurting her at the angle it was caught at. After quickly scooping her up and twisting the toy, I was able to wiggle her foot free, but I won't be leaving her alone with it anymore.

Sesame Street 1st Birthday Felt Party Hat

I got this hat for my son's first birthday, along with a 1st birthday crown-style hat. The crown was way too small, but this fit, with some room to spare. The safari style makes the extra room work. My son loves this hat and still plays with it and wears it all the time at home. He is now 2. I must say that I think it's more appropriate for a boy.

Fisher-Price Sesame Street Silly Sounds Remote

This is a winner! Its mostly taken the place of the real remotes in the house which is great! I find it comical that some of the other parent review have said this toy is "not educational" or not much for "brain development". People toddlers learn by playing. That is how their little brain develop. A toy remote is not a set of flashcards, but thankfully toddlers don't require flashcards to learn and develop their brains.

After searching for some time for a play remote for our daughter, we found this at a local Walmart store. It's EXACTLY what I had been looking for!

Looks close enough to the real thing that your baby shouldn't be too disappointed when you swap your real remote with this one.

All the buttons makes SEVERAL sounds the volume buttons on it actually do turn it up and turn it down in volume!

We bought this for our daughter when she was 9 months, and she still loves it at 15 months. Our family loves the humor built into all the Sesame Street programs and toys, and this remote is no different. The volume key actually works to incrementally turn up or down the volume of the toy and the big Monster eyes are a hit with the little one, they make a cute "power on / power off" noise when you hit the button on the side. She always liked to open and shut the eyes with her finger and I think this helped refine her control of her index finger.

The best part of the remote is that it has saved us from numerous tantrums as it is very easy to throw in the diaper bag.

This toy caught my eye because it looks almost exactly like my actual TV remote. Same color, shape, even the buttons are similarly placed. My son has an obsession with our TV remote, and whenever he gets his little hands on it, it takes me forever to undo whatever it is he's done to the TV settings!

As soon as I received this, I didn't give it to him right off. I placed it on the arm of our couch (where I tend to place our actual remote) and let him find it on his own. When he spotted it, he made a mad dash for it, and was just thrilled to pieces! He kept looking at me sideways, wondering when I was gonna take it away, and sat quietly on the couch with it for some time!

I absolutely recommend this little toy! I never put it with all his other toys, I always keep it in the living room where the real remote is so he can feel like he's playing with the actual thing...this was definitely a smart purchase!

If your child is like my twin granddaughters and put everything in their mouths, beware that they can scrap the paint and paper off with their teeth. We had to take it away from them. The blue is painted on and the writing is paper.

Fun Time 5053 Pre-School Fun Play Push Along Tool Truck

Seeing this toy tugs at my heart. One of the very first tasks my son ever did was turn the wheel of this tuck with one of the tools. I showed him how and he would play with it over and over again. It is surprisingly durable considering the thin poor quality plastic. Though it is overpriced on Amazon (I paid about six dollars locally) I would still recommend it. It helps develop coordination and imagination. If your child is 6 to 12 months prepare to be amazed... again.

I bought this for my son (12m) and a friend's son (11m). Both love playing with it. There are no small parts (the man is the smallest piece) so even though it is for older we let them play with it. My son was stealing tools and hurting himself when dropped them or got excited. This was a great way to let him play with tools and not hurt himself. He loves pushing the car around and carrying the tools around. He plays with some part daily.

This is a fantastic toy. We purchased this for our 18 month old. There are four tools that sit in the back of the truck that can be removed and reattached easily. There is also a saw in the middle of the truck that comes off and the driver can be removed and played with, as well. Lots of things to keep our son interested. It's a durable plastic, not cheap and flimsy so it stands up to hard play. I would definitely recommend this toy.

Toddlerz Toddlin' Tunes Puppy

This is a fun little dog. My daughter is only 10 months old but she loves to listen to me play it, and also to bang on the keys herself. Of course she eats the mallet more than she uses it to hit the xylophone part, but that is to be expected. I'm not sure why it says 3-5 years. I guess that's how old you have to be to play actual songs, but even my little one loves the instant gratification of poking the keys and getting a sound. It is nice to be able to watch her pick one sound and notice that it is different than the sound made by the next key.

My boys have fun with this toy, but the string that holds the little bone shaped mallot isn't long enough. My almost 3 year old gets annoyed with it because he can't reach the other end of the keys with the mallot. Plus, he wants badly to drag it behind him and watch the puppy's tail move, but it's not long enough for him to stand up and pull it behind him. Both of my boys (the youngest is 11 months) have fun banging away on the keys. It's fun to listen to their "songs"!

This toys caught my eye when I was at a children's birthday party. With Christmas around the corner, I felt this would be an excellent gift for my 10 mo. old grandchild. It's colorful,fun, and easy to play. The little dog is so cute. His tale wags as he's pulled along!

I was disappointed to see that this toy did not have a one octave scale, if it did I would give it a glowing review even though the string is too short but you can easily fix that. I work with two year old children with developmental delays and I know that they enjoy singing along and pretending to play simple tunes on a xylophone which you cannot do on this toy. If I had known that it did not have 8 keys I would not have bought it. I think for the price it sells for, it could have had two more notes.

Dandelion Organic Toy Squeaker, Duck

It is not easy to find organic sound-and-effect baby toys. My baby and I have been very pleased with this duck. Although she has not mastered the sqeak on her own, she loves his soft texture and crinkly hands. It wears well -my baby chews on him a lot and I have washed and dryed him many times in the machine.

This is a very cute product. Nicely made and I love that it's organic. It is very small and I would recommend it for a new born or as a first toy. I bought for a six month old who already plays with toys and have much bigger and more colorful toys... so unfortunately he didn't find it very interesting. I still liked it.. ;)

I am happy that there are options for organic toys but this duck is extremely small. Length is barely 5 inches. Was disappointed about that but the toy is extremely soft. I also like that it squeaks and has crunchy sounding feet...my dog may enjoy this toy more than my daughter so at least it will get used. Would not buy the other animals in this line.

This toy seems extremely durable and is very cute. I'd give it a solid five stars if it did a little more while being pulled. It does wobble and make a little clacking noise that gets the baby's attention.

This little pull toy is wonderful. It is very durable, it's paint has not chipped at all even with being stored in a toy box with lots of other toys. The string is a nice length. It's back is made with moveable pieces of wood that click together but do not click together while being pulled along. I really like this brand I wish there were more Pintoy toys in the United States. Wonderful company that makes durable high quality toys. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

ABC Train Travel Bag

We orderd this to take along on vacation and although it is a great too in theory, there are way too many pieces (and they are quite small) and can easily get lost. Some of the words could fall under two different letters (ex. is the teddy bear T for teddy or B for bear? and the the violin looks more like a guitar). Great idea, but not so great in the end.

This is really a neat toy! I have a 19 month old and 5 year old we purchased this almost 6 months ago and it is still a very liked toy by both. It really isn't a travel toy d/t the small pieces but keeps both ages attention very well. My oldest likes to put them back into place as fast as possible with the timer on and the youngest likes to just make the animal noises and trys to eat some of the food items. They are washable pieces for we have had a few in our mouth(ice cream). fun product that zips up neatly to secure all parts. Well worth the cost and any friends love this toy its neat and new old or new!

I have 2 girls, 2 and 4 years old, that are exploring letters and numbers. We figured, like potty training, introduce it in a slow and fun way, without pressure, and they will be learning in no time and without a battle. They love this bag! They carry it around all the time and it is holding up very well. It is introducing letters and sounds in a way that doesn't seem boring and controlled. Some of the ways they use it really brings out their creativity!

I am also very impressed with the quality. My husband and I couldn't help but to take notice of the effort to detail and the work it must have taken to put together. We have owned this awhile now and it is still in arrival condition.
