iPlay Tub Boats

iPlay Tub BoatsI'm very pleased wit this toy. It is very well made, the boats do float indeed. The magnets are strong enough to hold the set together when riding on the floor. They've been thrown of the hard surface few times and that didn't harm them at all. Good buy.

My daughter received this toy for her first birthday. She loved playing with the toy, pushing the boats and attaching the magnets. Ten minutes into playing, one of the boats came apart and my daughter put a small clear plastic internal boat piece in her mouth. It was the first toy we've had that has broken, so one star for these boats.

Buy iPlay Tub Boats Now

I bought these specifically for the bath tub and they are my sons new favorite toy.

The toys aren't too big and the magnets aren't too strong that he can't pull them apart and he loves to try to make the clicking or squeaking noises with the moving parts. The only negative is that the tugboat with the plunger takes a moment to start squeaking when it is wet.

This toy is great fun in the tub! The boats magnetically link, so they make a train, and will find one another in the tub and link up after being separated. Each boat has some sort of lever or button, and the colors are bright and appealing. Now that my son is older, he likes to line the boats up on the edge of the tub, and their little wheels allow them to travel happily on the edge of tub "road." Overall a wonderful toy!

Fisher-Price Walker-To-Wagon

Fisher-Price Walker-To-WagonWe bought this for our 9-mo. old son, who is now 12 mos. old. He loved it from the start, and still plays with it. It is stable enough that he can pull himself up without the walker tipping over--he can actually walk all around it, holding on to the handle from different angles, without it tipping.

I don't understand the reviewer here who complained of "sharp parts" and not enough room for legs/feet when configured as a walker. Our son is big for his age, and he has no trouble walking comfortably behind the walker. (In fact, our 4 year old has no trouble, either.) As for "sharp parts," there are none. This is a perfectly safe toy.

Bottom line: both our kids love it, and they play with the various spinning balls, flip-over pieces, etc. We're very happy with the toy, and after comparing with other available walkers, we think this one offers a great value for what you get.

Our son is 10.5 months old and just learning to stand and cruise; he can pull to standing and cruise along furniture. We bought this so he can hold onto it while learning to walk. The wheels, however, spin far too easly. When he uses the handle to pull himself up the wheels spin forward (unlike a stable piece of furniture), and when I stand him at the walker the wheels move far too quickly and easily for him (he'd fall if I let go of him). I think it would be good for children who already walk, but not for children just learning to balance/stand/walk. If it were billed properly I'd have given it a higher ranking, but it falls short of its purpose for us. We'd like it if the wheels were more difficult to push, or had varying degrees of difficulty. I see other reviewers seem to be using it for the purpose we'd like to so it's hard to tell what, if anything, is different. My husband is now going to try to rig it so the wheels turn less easily, but I wouldn't recommend this toy for a child just learning to stand/balance/cruise/walk.

As far as its other features: all okay, but nothing new. I wouldn't buy this just for the shape sorter, for example, though the shape sorter is just fine. The do-dads to flip and play with are fun and fine as well, but not worth buying a walker/wagon for. All in all, I think it has good features (toys) for pre-walkers, and it would be a good wagon or walker for those who already balance well and perhaps walk some.

Buy Fisher-Price Walker-To-Wagon Now

My twins like the doodads on this walker, the flip pages, the twisty knob and the spring thingy. As a walker it does move a little fast. My daughter had no problems with this, but my son did. I guess every baby is different, but he would end up falling a lot because it got away from him. Now, as we have just converted it to the "wagon" feature, it seemed like it was going to be great, but the handle FALLS to the floor!! I don't know why they couldn't make it so the handle would stay up. It is very frustrating for my kids. For some reason they have trouble bending down to pick the handle up and then pulling it. Also, because the handle lays on the floor, it takes up a lot of room!! Anyway, it's okay. I think I would get something different if I had to do it over again.

I got this toy for my one year old daughter. She was very amused by it intially. She still enjoys pushing and pulling it around and piling stuff in it, it's just hard for her to walk with it. She does not like it in it's "wagon" position as of yet because the handle sits on the floor and won't stay up. In it's walker position she is forced to walk in a notch between the rear wheels that is very narrow and difficult for her to move around in. It trips her most of the time when she is pushing it and catches her heels when she's pulling it. She enjoys this toy, but the rear wheels leave a lot to be desired.

We got two of these for my twins when they were 11 months old. I actually picked them up at Wally World the day after Thanksgiving for $10 each. They've been playing with them for a solid 10 months at this point, so they are very durable. They put stuff in the shape sorter part and race through the house laughing the whole way. I had the bright idea to turn it into a wagon today and I'm seriously disappointed. I actually got online to see if I was missing something. The handle sits on the floor! They can pick up the handle without a problem, but since I changed it, they've stopped playing with the toy.

Mary Meyer Sweet Rascals Plush Cassidy Kitty 9"

Mary Meyer Sweet Rascals Plush Cassidy Kitty 9'I received this plush as a gift long before my daughter's birth. She rediscovered him when she was one years old and now, at 29 months, they are still the very best of friends. I ordered extras to have in case we lost the original--which just happened last week! So we're ordering some more spares now.

Our personal experience does not show this toy is not for small children, as you can guess from my daughter dragging her Cecil Kitty (our name for him) everywhere, including in the crib, on airplane flights, in restaurants, everywhere she went, Cecil went. He is also in both her firstand second-birthday photographs and our Christmas cards. (he looks sharp in a little white bow tie, since he is already in a tuxedo.)

Cecil (Cassidy) is soft and floppity and mooshable. He goes through the washer and dryer time and again without any problem. He also likes to eat baby food and pancakes and juice and pasta sauce and anything else my daughter eats. Spray him down with good stain remover (if you can handle spraying the toxic stuff in his face), wash him, and he's good as new.

If you are looking for a new best friend for a kid who loces cats, you could do a lot worse than this plush. We love him, and my daughter loves him, and he is the best friend ever.

I was pleasantly surprised by just how soft this cute little kitty is. Nice and squishy perfect for cuddling with. I purchased it for my 1 year old after reading reviews that Mary Meyer products are child-safe. She loves it (especially because it looks like our cat at home), but I have found her on two occasions with fur in her mouth after she chews on the head. (She's teething so anything is fair game.) As a result, this kitty is only played with under close supervision and I will not let her play with it unsupervised until she is past the phase of putting everything in her mouth.

Otherwise, for stuffed animal collectors, I can see how this would be a very popular item. It has a cute little face, takes up very little space and is incredibly soft.

Haba Wonder Dice

Haba Wonder DiceWe purchased the Wonder Dice Block set for our son when he was about 5 months old and was finally showing interest in picking things up and playing with them. After 3 months of fairly heavy use, I can say that this was worth every penny. If the bright colors, mirrors, and multiple different types of fabric were not enough to keep him entertained, the fact that most of these blocks also make sounds (jingling, squeaking, etc) certainly would be. Parents will especially appreciate the fact that these blocks are nice and soft, making them less of a problem to worry about when your budding genius discovers that he/she can throw them (into walls, furniture, windows, etc.). As a tip the little fabric "tassle" on the top of the cone is especially good for tickling noses!

Disclaimer: I love non-toxic toys and I love all things Haba in particular. This toy is very cute, soft, and seems like it would be fun to stack. That said, my almost 7 month old has shown zero interest so far. I think the square blocks are too big for her hands to maneuver yet. The only block she likes is the pointy one that she can put easily in her mouth. So I am hopeful that she will grow into the building features of this toy with time, but it might not be the best for super young babies. I still give it good marks as I think it will be a quality, non-toxic toy for a slightly older child.

Wonderful toy. It is still fun for a 2.5 yr. I love the fact that a baby can throw these without destroying things.

Also when he was still a wobbly sitter I wasn't afraid of him falling onto these (as opposed to wooden blocks)

I also let him carry one around in his carseat and he uses it as an awesome teether!

Only wish there were more in the pack.

VTech Record and Learn Photo Album

VTech Record and Learn Photo AlbumMy oldest daughter is delayed in her speech, so her speech therapist suggested I get a regular photo album so she could learn the names of people in her life(grandma, grandpa, daddy, etc.). I found this photo album and love the fact that I can record the names with my own voice. My daughter was able to learn the the names of our loved ones very quickly. Thank you!

I purchased this item as a one year old birthday gift for my daughter...she loves it and I do too..very durable and not real heavy, the songs are great with it and she loves looking and hearing family on it. I would highly recommend it.

Bought two of these for the twins we are expecting. The babies are not here yet so they have not been used by the babies, but my husband and I are currently loading pictures and trying it out. I think it is a great idea so that babies can hear your voice at all times and work on facial recognition. After they master who the important people in their lives are, I will swap out the pictures for colors, numbers, animals, etc and use the photo album to teach them other things. I think it is a great idea!

I have 3 little girls, and each of them have received a little photo album with family photos for their first birthdays. This one is by far my favorite. I ordered it for my 3rd daughter and my older two had so much fun recording messages for her and singing Happy Birthday for her to hear. My 1 year old loves to flip through the pages, look at the pictures, and hear her favorite people talking and singing to her. My only complaint is that the photos do easily slip out of the slots for them. Still a favorite toy at our house!

Touch & Tickle Rounds

Touch & Tickle RoundsI have a 10 month old who has played with both the square and round versions of these toys and the round ones are definitely more fun. Despite the fact they can roll across the room, their tendency to move out of reach for baby encourages reaching, stretching, and movement. The toys are colourful, nicely textured, and many have fun sounds. I'd recommend shopping around for these however. I just bought 18 of them for $10.40 at BJs, and have a nice assortment including some with ribbons, very nice primary colour patterns, and fun noises.

Highly recommended product although I'd like to see Fisher Price develop a few more play-sets that can use them beyond what they currently have, which are a bit boring. I hide these in boxes, under pillows, and inside some toys with pockets to encourage exploration.

My 7 month old child recieved these as a Christmas present and he loves them! I sat him in the middle of the floor and rolled a bunch of his toys to him one at a time, and every time one of these balls rolled to him, he would grab it. He would not do that with the other toys. He absolutely loves these balls!!!

i got both roll a rounds and peek a blocks for xmas for my 4 month old. she is now 6 months she hardly touches the blocks but has loved the balls from christmas morning she could grasp them easily. she loves eating all the ribbons. she just learned to crawl two days ago and she is getting fast chase the balls around the house. perfect first toy that i am sure will last to be a favorite toddler toy as we all know balls never go out of style.

We bought these for our daughter with the thought in mind that she loves to feel different textures, which she did.

There are a few cons to this set of roll-a-rounds. For one they don't all roll that well. The balls don't work well with the "roll around" toys, such and the drop and roar dino and the gumball machine.

The ball with the ribbon tags was my daughter favorite until the ribbons started to come apart so we had to throw it away. Otherwise she would of been able to eat the ribbons threads.

Other then the few things we haven't had any other problems, and our daughter loves to roll them around and also carry them around.

Want Touch & Tickle Rounds Discount?

My son calls these his "peek-a-balls" and, as a whole, he adores them. When he was younger (under 1) this was his favourite set, as they are very tactile; he especially loved the one with the "tags". The only weakness of this particular set is that it doesn't work well with the "roll around" toys (such as the gumball machine), as these balls don't really roll very well.

Bright Starts Flexi Ball

Bright Starts Flexi BallThe frame design is great for small hands. My 5-month-old baby imediately loved this toy. It's serves multiple purposes, because the solid ball inside makes a rattle sound when it shakes against the frame. The rubber texture makes it safe for her to gnaw at.

My daughter loves this toy, and has since she started playing with her cousins at around 4 months. I finally broke down and bought her one of her own for Christmas. It was also about half the price at Walmart, so that might be a better place to shop for this one.

My son was given this toy when he was 4 months old. I wsan't sure if he would like it because it looked pretty basic , but he instantly took to it. Due to the individual hexagonal cells he could easily grip it with his small hands. He also liked to chew on it. Now that he is crawling, he enjoys to chase after it on our tile and follow the rattling sound. So far this toy has given him 4 months of entertainment and is still going strong.

My son received this toy when he turned 3 months and today at 9.5 months it is still one of his favorite toys!

Introduce this toy to your baby when they start to grab things, so around 3 months. This ball is designed so it's extremely easy to grab, and all the babies I know LOVE this ball. Plus the little ball inside is lots of fun for the baby to hear jiggle. :)

One of the best toys for the buck.

Made well, no signs of wear whatsoever.

Easy on the gums, made of a soft rubbery material.

Easy to clean.

Pretty colors.

Gender neutral.

Now that my son is crawling and "walking", he loves kicking it and chasing it .

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE!

CON: Not sure why the price of this ball is so high on amazon, but it's cheaper at Kmart!

Little Tikes Fold Away Climber

Little Tikes Fold Away Climber1st time reviewer. Wanted to let other moms (and dads) know that:

1) easy to put together just follow directions (20-30 max time needed)

2) no big deal: there are no rails between ladder and slide. i positioned that side against one wall in my house and it serves as my additional wall.

3) slide is great! to me the picture of the slide looks like there is a stopper or lip at the end of the slide to stop a baby from flying off the end. There is no abrupt stop or lip. Smooth, safe and FUN ride all the way down.

4) My son (16mths) is so worn out he PASSED out tonight from playing so much today. All I can say is THANK YOU Little Tikes :-)

5) I live in a townhome so no yard and no storage inside. This toy is big enough to provide hours of entertainment. Versitile you can store it away in an instant. I bought this for inside play but this could easily go outside as well.

You cannot go wrong buying this toy from BabyAge. It's Versitile. Play soccer or basketball or slide. Stores Easily. Great Deal. Excellent Toy.

Only drawback I can find is the only ball it comes with is a basketball. It's as big as a Size 1 soccer ball. perfect size for baby.

We got this for our 20 month old son for Christmas hoping it would provide some energy draining fun during the winter months, and we are so glad we did! He plays on it every day for a fairly good amount of time. He plays basketball, then climbs up and goes down the slide, the sends trucks and balls down the slide too. We were worried about the size of it and him outgrowing it too soon, since he's the size of the average 3 yr old, but it's perfect for him. I don't know about how easy it is to fold up since we've never had to do it, but it doesn't look that complicated. Since there is no railing on the back of the platform, we put a floor pillow on our wood floors behind it just in case he fell off, which he has, and he was fine. Overall, we are extremely happy we purchased this, and have recommended it to quite a few friends of ours.

What a terrific idea. Just enough activity for little attention spans. The fold-up feature is great. It's not too heavy for mom to move around.

Want Little Tikes Fold Away Climber Discount?

My 18-month old loves this climber. We live in a small apartment. With this climber, my child can climb, slide and shoot hoops without using a lot of space or going outside in bad weather. There is a net under the basketball hoop that can be used for playing soccer. The height of the hoop is adjustable for a growing toddler.

The negatives: The ladder to the slide is not user-friendly for my toddler. If I did not assist her w/ the ladder, she would fall or not be able to use the slide. There is nothing around the platform between the ladder and the slide to prevent a toddler from falling off. Hence, a child must be closely supervised at all times. Finally, the slide has a speed bump at the bottom, which can result in a rough end to the ride. However, the bump prevents my child from flying across the room when she gets to the bottom. Note that this toy can easily move on a wood floor.

Overall, the slide is fun, fun, fun. Toddlers like to climb, and this toy satisfies that need.

Playskool Cushy Cruisin Fire Truck

Playskool Cushy Cruisin Fire TruckMy one-year old granddaughter was using balls like cars saying zoom, so I went to buy a car or truck for her. Not easy! Most say not for under 3 years due to small parts, and of course, were made of hard metal. I was thrilled to find this big, soft truck with large wheels, but not as thrilled as she was to receive it! She clapped her hands with glee, and played with it right away! She loved that it makes zoom zoom sounds when you press the licence plate at the front of the truck! It also makes beep beep sounds and siren sounds, too. Mommy liked that it doesn't play silly songs! I am now going to buy a second one for my grandson 10 months old as it was a "cousin tested and approved" toy!

We bought this for our son when he was about 7 months old. He was teething really badly, and he really gnawed on the rubbery top of the truck. Yet it didn't puncture. He wasn't an experienced crawler, but he liked to sit with it and spin the wheels. Now that he crawls all over the place, he pushes the truck with one hand, taking it along with him.

(As a footnote, I appreciate the fact that the sounds the truck makes aren't very annoying, as some toys can be.)

My almost 14 month old LOVES this truck!!! Its so soft so he can't get hurt from it and he loves to flip it upside down and play with the wheels. He also gets very excited from the revving of the engine and the sirens it has. (they're also at a great sound level so they don't scare him which is a huge plus!) It's his favorite toy right now.

Tolo Tiny the Elephant

Tolo Tiny the ElephantOne of my baby's favorite toys! Tiny is huggable and fun. My baby's favorite part? Tiny's big ears they make crinkly sound and catches baby's attention. And since they're huge (as an elephant's ears should be), they're easy to hold and put in his mouth.

I bought this elephant for my 1 year old niece. She simply adores it. She plays with all the features it has alot and hugs it all the time. I would so recommend this toy.

My 20 month old daughter discovered this toy today at our local children's buy/sell boutique.

It was LOVE at first sight!! She scooped him up into her arms and would have nothing to do with parting with him. Usually she's all over the store and into everything; but this time, Tiny the Elephant was soaking up all of her attention!

She would have nothing to do with leaving the store without Tiny; and while she is slightly spoiled and sometimes gets away with that, I couldn't resist buying him for her.

He's super cute...very nice colors...bright...soft...adorable flowers all of his body. He has many entertaining features aside from his just being nice to look at and wonderful to snuggle.

Magnetic Poetry Kids' Chinese Kit

Magnetic Poetry Kids' Chinese KitThis set of magnets is useful for anyone first learning to read Chinese, including adults. It includes just over 140 magnets, with a few key words ("I", "to be", "you", etc.) duplicated a few times. Several key Chinese particles and category words ("le", "de", "ge", etc.) are included, so you can compose actual grammatical Chinese sentences. The characters are aesthetically pleasing. This is a quality product with thought behind it.

My set included an envelope with two corrected tiles (the originals had incorrect pinyin).

I agree with the other reviewers that it would be much better to have the pinyin (Roman alphabet Chinese) on the reverse with the English: not only does it make the tiles less useful for character memorization, but also the refrigerator calligraphy you make with the tiles isn't as pretty.

A little bit of Chinese knowledge is helpful for enjoying these tiles, but they're entirely suitable for anyone who has had their first few lessons of Chinese.

I had initially gone looking for this for myself, but ended up buying it for my nieces first. They love it. They watch enough Ni Hao Kai-Lan to appreciate Chinese, plus they know my interest. They are barely school-age, but these magnets are great because they're relatively simple in vocabulary, yet enough to stoke their curiosity.

I purchased my own set, as well. I wasn't thrilled about having the Pinyin (pronunciation guide) printed above the characters, but the magnets are soft enough that you can cut them off with scissors fairly easily. (Though I know Chinese well, I find that I stop reading the character and start reading the Pinyin words).

My only regret is that they don't have expansion sets. Overall, this is a great product.

Buy Magnetic Poetry Kids' Chinese Kit Now

My son learned his letter sounds with letters on the refrigerator. My son learned to put together letters to make words with the letters on the refrigerator. And now, for the past 15 months, my son has been in Chinese Immersion school...it only makes since that has another reinforcement activity on the refrigerator!

I don't know a thing about Chinese, but I do know that my son is doing an awesome job reviewing the Chinese characters on the refrigerator like he did when he was a toddler. He also loves to leave messages for me and tries to get me to learn to read it as well.

Perhaps it was just good timing, but I am thrilled to have the pinyin on the same side as the character. The past 14 months of his instruction focused on the character. His class just began working on pinyin this month! I am very happy that he is able to put the character together with the pinyin!

I am also thrilled with the price! Most Chinese reinforcement content that I have come across is pretty spendy....but these are comparable to the amount that I was spending on the English letters/words gadgets that also went on the refrigerator!

Read Best Reviews of Magnetic Poetry Kids' Chinese Kit Here

Though this kit is classified as a toy, it may not work for very young (under 10 or 12) children because the magnetic squares are small. I use mine on the refrigerator door, but you can also use them on the metal box lid or any other magnetic surface. For kids, a metal easel would be a really good accessory. The tiles are the same material as magnetic business cards -maybe not quite as sturdy because of their smaller size. They are black on white and large enough to read easily (though not from a distance), but they only have the Pinyin word and the character on the side that faces out. The corresponding English word is in white on dark grey on the side that one sticks to the metal surface. There are duplicate tiles for frequently used words. They are definitely meant for active learning, not just as visual reminders of past learning. For a children's toy, I wish they were a little larger and more colorful, perhaps a different color for each part of speech. The kit is best suited to older children and adults who are actively engaged in fairly formal study of the Chinese language or who already speak it. Then they could be used for word scrabble games to make sentences with the available tiles.

Bright Starts Tug Tunes - Bug

Bright Starts Tug Tunes - BugMy 7 month old absolutely loved the purple elephant tug toy. It was her favorite toy. Until today when she had one of the little dangling feet in her mouth and somehow inhaled it. The string to the foot is long enough that the ball of the foot was way in the back of her throat. SCARY. Thank God my husband was there. I almost threw the whole thing away but I know how much she loves it so I just cut off all the legs.

The music in the Bright Starts Tug Toys (both the pig and bee) is great! Not annoying at all; actually pleasant to hear from the back seat of the car when my little girl pulls on the handle while in her car seat. However, I've gone through 4 of these toys in the past 7 months! The batteries die soooooo quickly! I wrote the company and asked them to either make the batteries last longer or make it so the batteries can be changed. I even had my husband dissect one to see if it was easy to change the batteries, and it's not. I'm debating on whether to buy a 5th Tug Toy for my daughter....she just likes it so much. It's such a shame when a nice toy can't last more than a couple of months due to batteries!

Buy Bright Starts Tug Tunes - Bug Now

The hind legs pop off very easily. My 9 month old daughter just reached up and popped one off, then happily popped the foot into her mouth. She was in her carseat, playing quietly, and if she had choked, I might never have known. We got home and I had to fish it out of her mouth.

When I complained to the company (Kids II/Bright Starts), they sent me TWO replacements I did not want or ask for. I tugged the hind legs on both of them, and yet another one popped off with a little effort; certainly less effort than an ever-stronger infant could exert. The other one seemed pretty solid, and the legs stayed intact even with stronger pulling. Seems random.

I snipped the legs off of all of them. BE CAREFUL.

All the music starts to die right around 3 months of use, but that's at least somewhat expected. I'd happily buy another if that was the only problem.

This was one of our daughter's favorite toys! However, we went through 3 of them in 6 months because of the poor battery life and non-replaceable battery. Disappointed the battery pack isn't replaceable.

My only issue with this toy is that once the batteries die you have to buy a new one.

There is no way to replace the batteries and they aren't exactly cheap.

My daughter absolutely loved these and we had to buy about four of them from

the time she was 4 months to 10 months old.

The battery life is horrendously short.

Maple Landmark Mini Spin Rattle

Maple Landmark Mini Spin RattleI bought this rattle for my 5 month old son and he loves it. He seems fascinated with the small rings that slide back and forth and he also loves to chew on it. My only complaint is that the paint runs when you wash it, but I am not sure you are even supposed to wash it ?

Gund 13" Jeepers Peepers Monkey Plush

Gund 13' Jeepers Peepers Monkey PlushWe looked at purple monkeys available on Amazon via Prime and this was the monkey for her. She loves Lizzie dearly and sleeps with her every night. Lizzie survived her first trip through the washer and still looks new and soft. Personally, I don't care much for it. But my little girl does, and that is what matters.

Fisher-Price Growing Baby Animal Activity Gym

Fisher-Price Growing Baby Animal Activity GymThis is a great arch, my baby loves it. It's very simple and full of colors. What I like about it is that it's easy to fold and carry with you!

The price is very good too.

I sent this baby gym to my grandson in Missouri. As soon as my daughter laid him under it,( 2 months old)

he started batting at it and kicking his feet and grinning. That continues today.

My daughter likes that she can add personal toys to the overhead bar.

I bought this for my 3 months old baby who was getting bored simply watching the world go by. He totally loved it although I had to attach another of my toy in the middle as the existing ones were too far out of reach for my baby. That said, it's light snaps closed easily and does the trick. It's portable so I take it with me wherever I am in the house, which is awesome to keep baby occupied and supervised at the time. Great product.
