Angry Birds Plush 5-Inch Black Bird with Sound
They have a larger base so they sit still without rolling over despite being ball shaped. The noise maker is suitably padded and you can throw this around quite a bit without worrying it will break the sound box. This bird has been airborn quite often and hasn't stopped working a bit.
We have all of the sizes of the birds and this size is nice and compact a bit firmer than the larger ones.
In all, it's expensive for the size but it is a quality piece.my kids love angry birds! so i purchased them each an angry bird "stuffed animal"
to my MAJOR disgust and to their MAJOR disappointment there was a tag underneath the angry bird tag on it that said "Warning: contains lead. May be Harmful if eaten or chewed. May generate dust containing lead."
are you kidding me? first of all this is not mentioned in the listing what so ever, but on top of that it contains lead and is rated for ages 1+?
needless to say this was a great disapointment, and they were promptly returned.
be careful what you buy!

Since the angry bird game was such a popular game I thought my grandson would love the stuffed bird. I first got a small one and then another small one and a big one. They are adorable, make noise like the game, well made, certainly timely and a certain hit. Sound makes it really special. All local stores were out of the black angry birds so I was thankful that my standby Amazon came through for me again in a timely manner.Read Best Reviews of Angry Birds Plush 5-Inch Black Bird with Sound Here
The black bird which is my favorite bird as being the bomber bird, is a great plush toy for kids. It makes three different sounds. It is very light for its size which is nice so you can throw it around the house. Great birthday present for kids who love the Angry Birds and also great if you just want too collect them. The bomber bird is identical to the bird on the app.The weak point of the bird is that the soundbox breaks easily and would be extremely difficult to fix.

My son loved the bomb angry bird. It was exactly what he wanted. We looked for this particular bird in the local stores, but they were sold out. So, not only did he get the bird he wanted but he also got it delivered with this name on the box.Wednesday, August 6, 2014

Gund Baby Spunky Pullstring Musical Toy
Got 3 of them as my son has one for the car, house and bed.
Love this.
AlexThe quality and size exceeded my expectations. A gift for my nephew to help him learn to sleep in his crib by himself.

We had the dog hanging on the crib and our 7 month old daughter would play with it when she woke up in the mornings. Recently, while she was playing with it, the ring that she pulls on to make the music play broke off. The toy is now broken. It is impossible to fix and just dangles limply on the side of the crib. The tag does say to pull gently, but that is hard to control in the hands of an infant. I'm glad she is too young to understand it is broken or we would have had tears.Read Best Reviews of Gund Baby Spunky Pullstring Musical Toy Here
I love this pullstring musical toy because it is cute, soft, and plays a lullaby. I got this pink one for my youngest, and a white one to replace a different one that broke for my 5-year-old (who still likes to be rocked at night). The music is sweet, the doll is cute, and it is just perfect for a cozy rock before bed.Want Gund Baby Spunky Pullstring Musical Toy Discount?
This puppy is so cute and soft. My daughter loves sleeping with is. As soon as she hears the song, she knows it's time to go nigh-nigh.The only con to keep in mind is that is it not machine washable if you want the music component to continue playing. If you hang it on the
crib like they have pictured, it won't get that dirty. But if your plans are to let them use it as a lovey it might.

Animal Planet Stroller Toy
seat, and she can look at it since we hang it from the headrest. I recommend it.I ordered the "lion" stroller toy as an add on to a gift b/c my friend had it on her registry. The shipping was fast and it was packaged well, but it was the "monkey" stroller toy. I did not contact the seller. Fortunately, this wasn't the only gift I bought and I have several friends having babies in the next 6 months and one of them has a monkey theme going--so I put it in the closet until her shower, but if circumstances had been different I would have been giftless for the one friend's shower and had to deal with the hassle of returning an item.

LeapFrog Poppin' Play Piano
There are 4 basic modes:
Number: Press a key, number "sung" (1-8, in the tone of a scale)
Color: The color of the key "sung"
Free Play: Each key becomes a different instrument
Song: The piano plays a song; kids can choose to accompany by pressing other keys
What my child loves: watching the balls go up. He likes the songs and has had a lot of fun just playing random keys. The switch to move from counting to colors to free play is easy for him to manipulate.
What I like: the tonality is pretty good for a kids' toy. And because it follows the scale, you can play some actual songs on it. I also like that it doesn't have anything to break off or keep stored with it, as many of the child xylophones do.
However, I find it a little loud. It comes with a volume switch, but even the "low" setting is loud. I also wish that it counted higher than 8 (he can already count to 8).That limits its educational value. It does start to get annoying when they push the same button over and over, especially in counting mode. "Eeeeiiiight! Eeeeiiiight! Eeeeeeight! Eeeeeeight! Eeeeeeight!" etc.
Remember the 90's Sampsonite commercial where they have a gorilla in a room with a suitcase? That's like my kid with toys. If he can break it, he will. He's already dropped it down the stairs once and so far it's holding up well, which has been true of all the LeapFrog toys we've used.

When my wife & I talk about toys, we come from the perspective of educators. That said, for early childhood development, nothing beats "old fashioned" toys.Hands down, in every documented study, plain old wood blocks provide more stimulation, more fine motor skill development, more problem-solving, etc. Also keep in mind, electronic toys like this encourage kids to play alone they tend to work against socialization skills. Every child (as early as 6 months), should have wood blocks, flash cards, mega blocks or legos, lincoln logs, things like that. And, lots of board books around.
However, often times people want to buy "exciting" electronic toys for holidays and birthdays toys that talk, sing, light up, etc. No matter how educational they claim to be, toys like this "do the work" for your child, and are not as challenging. But it's obviously not going to kill your child to have a few of these around!
So if you're looking for electronic toys, we strongly recommend Leapfrog products. We've tested many, many toys and we own 3 different Leapfrog toys (including a Phonics Dinosaur toy that has been dropped, thrown, rolled down the stairs, and still looks and plays like new!).
I find the Leapfrog products are intuitive, durable, more educational than any other electronic toys (like Fisher Price, etc), and well thought out.
This Poppin Piano is exactly what I expected it to be. Many functions to keep your child engaged. Counting & color games. A regular piano mode (*every* child needs a piano of some sort, to learn music & also fine motor skills).
And like all other Leapfrog products, it's not too noisy, it's a smart power saver so it doesn't drain the batteries, and the noises & singing are nice and soft (not loud & shrill like many other electronic toys).
Leapfrog recommends this for 12-36 months. But our 7 month old is actually using it the "poppin" balls are fun to watch, and it's a great opportunity to learn cause & effect.
So if you're a parent, these kinds of toys are great for car rides, for short-attention-span moments, a kitchen activity (while you're busy cooking), etc. We don't recommend it as an "everyday" toy. We keep electronic toys locked up, and pull them out only occasionally. However, for the category of electronic toys, Leapfrog always gets best in class.
(PS If you're interested in more information about these studies, or about early childhood development, the Journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is free online to read back issues.)

My youngest child as of 2012 is 2. When I received this toy, I thought he would enjoy it at least. He played with it for about 10 to 15 minutes and was done. The toy is very basic. It is a small keyboard with the various colors. The color of the keys are matched with a small ball that goes up when the key is pressed. The toy has four different settings for colors, numbers, and two settings for music. My child does need to learn his colors better which is why I got the toy in the first place.Overall, this toy perhaps would be better for an even younger child than 2. My little boy didn't play with the toy long and now the toy sits on top of the other toys in his toy room.We love this toy! The popping balls are so fun and interactive, the little ones love it. And it's full of great music and is really educational. When I was trying it at the store a kid literally ran up and grabbed it from my hands...

Puny Pirate - Size: 12-18 months
Buy Puny Pirate - Size: 12-18 months Now
I bought this costume as a gift for a friend for her grandson. She loved the costume. He was super cute in it and it's really true to size. It fit him perfectly. I was looking for a pirate costume for an infant everywhere and I was glad I found this on Amazon. I really don't have any complaints however, my friend had a hard time putting it on her grandson because she didn't see there were button on the pants besides the opening in the back. I had to show her there were snaps on the pants since it wasn't very apparent unless you were looking for them. I only knew because my son's lion costume was the same way. Also, I would mention that it was thin so it wouldn't be a good costume to wear without a coat if your Halloween's are like the Midwest where it's typically very cold on Halloween.I got his for 5 month old boy and it is adorable. I love the all in one aspect so we aren't struggling with tons of layers and the snap at the bottom is perfect. Only thing that would make it better is if the white on the chest would lay flat. My little one pulls it up to chew on it. Very satisfied! We bought this for our 17 month old son to wear to My Nieces Themed Birthday party and it was super cute, fit him well, I even drew a mustache and beard on him, it was cute and he seemed comfortable in it. I will share a couple of photos of him in it that I snapped with My phone. Parents remember this is a costume for fun, not something meant to be worn everyday, but over-all it held up well and we were all happy with it.Thursday, March 20, 2014

This is so adorable, and high quality soooo soft. Only trouble was, my granddaughter received about 7 of these! Different animals, but I thought this was the cutest! I am sure the precious baby will pick out his favourite soon. He'll enjoy all of them though. Babies love soft things and bright colors. Wish they had these when my boys were babies. It would have beat carrying a full blanket around! Wonderful gift!I bought all the Mary Meyer Dino blankies, and wubba nubbs. They are just too cute. This Dino Blankie is perfect size for little hands and has silk on the inside and soft fabric on the outside. My now 3 month old loves all his dino's.Monday, March 17, 2014
Bright Starts Lots of Links- Solid Colors
That said, I bought this exact same product in my local Target for $4.99. Not on sale either.
Update: When I wrote this review these were selling on amazon for more than $15! It seems the price here has become more reasonable.I got these for my son when he was 4 months old and it was instantly his favorite toy. It was the only toy that his weak and uncoordinated grasp could master and I particularly love the padded links because they were gentler on his gums. At 6 months they still remained a favorite because they were the perfect teething toy. I highly recommend this product. You can get it much cheaper at your local Target or Walmart, though. They're also great for attaching toys to the stroller, car seat, etc. so they can be used on a regular basis even after your child is no longer interested in playing with them.

As with another commenter, the set I received did not have the 6 soft coated rings that are pictured here and specifically promised in the description. When I went to try to exchange it, Amazon would only let me return it since they only allow exchanges if the problem is due to their error and, apparently, they don't count "item not as described" as an error on their part. I am disappointed with both the item and Amazon's customer service.Read Best Reviews of Bright Starts Lots of Links- Solid Colors Here
These links work great as baby toys, but I really feel they are a great home product as well. If you have kids, buy a set. You never know when they will come in handy!I use these to:
-Hold my curtains open.
-Mark my wine glasses.
-Hang towels on my kitchen drawer knobs.
-Hang my diaper bag on the stroller.
-Hang scarves & belts in my closet.
-Put on door edges as pinch guards (got this idea from customer photos)
-Hang my bag on the edge of tables.
-Hold my measuring cups and spoons together.
-Hook multiple bags together.
-Keep my hair elastics together.
Basically anything you might use a lightweight caribeener for, you can use these links for. They've come in so handy, I plan to keep them long after my daughter outgrows her baby toys.the links are poorly made any slight tug and links come apart. not very durable bend and twist easily. Save your money.

Magnetic Poetry Kids' Chinese Kit
My set included an envelope with two corrected tiles (the originals had incorrect pinyin).
I agree with the other reviewers that it would be much better to have the pinyin (Roman alphabet Chinese) on the reverse with the English: not only does it make the tiles less useful for character memorization, but also the refrigerator calligraphy you make with the tiles isn't as pretty.
A little bit of Chinese knowledge is helpful for enjoying these tiles, but they're entirely suitable for anyone who has had their first few lessons of Chinese.I had initially gone looking for this for myself, but ended up buying it for my nieces first. They love it. They watch enough Ni Hao Kai-Lan to appreciate Chinese, plus they know my interest. They are barely school-age, but these magnets are great because they're relatively simple in vocabulary, yet enough to stoke their curiosity.
I purchased my own set, as well. I wasn't thrilled about having the Pinyin (pronunciation guide) printed above the characters, but the magnets are soft enough that you can cut them off with scissors fairly easily. (Though I know Chinese well, I find that I stop reading the character and start reading the Pinyin words).
My only regret is that they don't have expansion sets. Overall, this is a great product.

My son learned his letter sounds with letters on the refrigerator. My son learned to put together letters to make words with the letters on the refrigerator. And now, for the past 15 months, my son has been in Chinese Immersion school...it only makes since that has another reinforcement activity on the refrigerator!I don't know a thing about Chinese, but I do know that my son is doing an awesome job reviewing the Chinese characters on the refrigerator like he did when he was a toddler. He also loves to leave messages for me and tries to get me to learn to read it as well.
Perhaps it was just good timing, but I am thrilled to have the pinyin on the same side as the character. The past 14 months of his instruction focused on the character. His class just began working on pinyin this month! I am very happy that he is able to put the character together with the pinyin!
I am also thrilled with the price! Most Chinese reinforcement content that I have come across is pretty spendy....but these are comparable to the amount that I was spending on the English letters/words gadgets that also went on the refrigerator!Though this kit is classified as a toy, it may not work for very young (under 10 or 12) children because the magnetic squares are small. I use mine on the refrigerator door, but you can also use them on the metal box lid or any other magnetic surface. For kids, a metal easel would be a really good accessory. The tiles are the same material as magnetic business cards -maybe not quite as sturdy because of their smaller size. They are black on white and large enough to read easily (though not from a distance), but they only have the Pinyin word and the character on the side that faces out. The corresponding English word is in white on dark grey on the side that one sticks to the metal surface. There are duplicate tiles for frequently used words. They are definitely meant for active learning, not just as visual reminders of past learning. For a children's toy, I wish they were a little larger and more colorful, perhaps a different color for each part of speech. The kit is best suited to older children and adults who are actively engaged in fairly formal study of the Chinese language or who already speak it. Then they could be used for word scrabble games to make sentences with the available tiles. My three year old actually like playing with these. I thought I'd save them for later but she likes them now.

VTech - Paint and Learn Art Easel
Also this toy has a lot of potential to carry the interest up to 3 or 4 years. It has music and lights, piano, 1 learning card. One side teaches numbers, the other side teaches letters. When you do not use the card, it has shapes by default. My daughter has not explored even 50% of this toy. So she is going to have even more fun playing and learning with it in the coming months..
Last thing to add, it works perfectly (unlike what other reviewer said). It does not tip over easily unless you push it down.

My then 9 month old got this toy for Christmas. I had to have this for her because it looked like so much fun. I admit that I expected a little more from this toy, but I still really like it. It is set up like an easel, and has an interactive page that "clips" onto the easel. It teaches letters A-E, colors, etc. There is a "paintbrush" that is used for touching the different colors, etc. to hear the talking and singing based on that particular item. It is a cute toy. I wish my baby liked it a little more, though. It does seem to be a durable toy, as she likes to bang the paintbrush against the easel repeatedly, especially when mad. I do like this toy, the only thing I wish it had is more letters and numbers to learn. I also bought this for a cousin, and plan to buy one for my nephew, so I do recommend it!

I have not had the same issues as the other reviewer of this product. My son is 17 months and seems to like this toy quite a bit. He is not able to interchange the easle pages on his own yet though. He also quickly learned that you don't need to use the wand to make the toy work. The animals used to represent the ABC's are strange in my opinion. For "A" they use Ant, "C"caterpillar, "D" dragonfly. The only animal my son recognizes is the "B"Bee. I think Cat and Dog would be more appropriate for this age group. Nonetheless, this toy been a source of entertainment for my son. If you can find it on sale, I would recommend this toy.Got this for my niece who is only 14 months old. SHE LOVES IT!! Plays with it all the time. Keys are big for her, lights up, makes noises, she dances to the music. Overall a great buy! Highly recommend.
