Razbaby RaZberry Teether

I absolutely love the idea of this teether which is why I bought it. Unfortunately, the raspberry part (which seemed like it was just glued) came apart from the rest of the binky which posed a huge chocking hazard. This scared me since I usually leave teethers in my child's crib where I am not constantly supervising. I would not recommend this product. I feel a lot more confident in the teether binky from "Soothie" that is all one piece. It's unfortunate because it looks like it would be a fantastic product if only it was constructed safer...

Firstly, let me just say that I am very glad that I ignored the "most helpful" review saying that it would come apart. I completely feared this because my baby seems to eat everything he can get his hands on, and he's only about 5 months! Well, I received the product and I couldn't be happier with the concept. It is a soft silicone material, comparable to other teething toys on the market, and my baby took to it instantly. The bonus: it is shaped like a pacifier, so babies can suck on it and it fits comfortably in their mouths. I can't say enough good things about this product.

Now about it coming apart, the green and red and green and blue teether's are two parts brought together, however the pink and the light blue teethers are one peice (i.e. there is no way it will come apart!!). I completely recommend the light blue, considering that is the one I bought for my baby boy. It is a very nice color, just as shown in the picture, and it is only about fifty cents more than the original "raZ-berry teether".

So, if you really want the contrast in colors, you can take the risk with one of the dual-color raz-berry teethers; Many people have been more than happy with the those and never had a problem with it coming apart. But personally, I would recommend the one-color ones; They are just as cute and you won't have to worry about the possibility that it will come apart. Enjoy!

I ordered this item from a different site and I was excited when it arrived but that was short lived. When I open the package I realized the teether was poorly made. I could see a seam where the handle part of the teether was attached to the base. I could see the silicone type glue that was used to attach the two pieces together. With a little bit of pulling I was able to separate the two pieces. This was immediately thrown away. I was glad I never gave this to my child. If he pulled it off he could have choked.

**I am adding an edit to this review. The teether that I was reviewing was the one with either the red bulb or the blue bulb. Reading other reviews it appears as the light blue one and the pink one are one solid piece. Since I do not have the solid one I can not verify that information 100%.

**Edit once again. I have ordered the all blue teether and I can confirm it is all one piece. While my son doesn't really care for the teether I think it is made well and I am sure other kids would enjoy it.

My fourth month old little girl has been teething for some time already, and we have tried many teethers. But this by far is the best. It is so easy for her to put in her mouth without getting fustrated. The berry part is the perfect size and shape for her mouth. My son absolutely loved this but my mom and I had the scariest experience ever. Do not let your child use this unless you are watching them constantly. We both took our eyes away from him for just a second and he turned the binky around and started sucking on the handle. The handle is soft and with my son sucking it, it lodged in his throat. The thing was almost completely in his mouth! It took two of us to get that thing out. I contacted them and they said they would send an envelope so that we could send it back to get tested however they never sent it. To make matters worse, somehow he found another one (we bought a few of them) and it almost happened a second time. If you care for your child safety, DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT!!!!!!!

The WotWots SpottyWot 12" Plush Toy

Bought both Spotty and Dotty as soon as I saw them on Amazon. It's hard to get anything WotWots in the states, so I jumped on it. I was really impressed with the quality, they are really, really well made. Nice, thick material, really good stitching, I'm confidant that Spotty and Dotty will be around a good long time! I highly recommend these toys, if you have a WotWot fan in the house, you will not regret this purchase! Only complaint (and it's really inconsequential) is the "eco" packaging. They come in little brown "bag" type packages, with a picture of the Wot inside on the front, and tied off with a matching ribbon, very cute. (I'm actually thinking of framing them to hang in her room, the are so pretty!) But if your gonna have "eco" packaging, please use an adhesive that ACTUALLY WORKS!! They arrived in a UPS box, and all of the seams had come apart. Luckily I put them in Easter baskets, didn't need the packaging, but I have no idea how they would sell these on store shelves. Don't let that stop you, these are GREAT toys!

I bought for my grandson, unknown just what exactly a "WotWot" was. He giggled with delight and he told me it was now his bestfriend! Wot more could I ask for? It is well made and so very lovable.

Infantino Dansy Antsy

This entertains my 6 month old because it plays a melody and the top half moves from side to side. Unfortunately it lasts only about 15 seconds so you have to constantly press the feet for the music to turn on again. We don't use it much now because its annoying to constantly press it for the music to turn on, but perhaps later on down the road she'll learn to press the feet herself to turn it on. Also, it only plays one melody (with giggling) and there is no adjustment in volume. I give it 3 stars for now and will update if my child plays with it more in the near future.

This little dancing ant gets my little dancing boy moving too. He really likes this toy. It is a very simple little toy, push his foot and he moves back and forth and plays music for a short period of time, but it's perfect for a short attention span. It is cute and a good size for little hands (my son is 11 months old)...he grabs Antsy by the antenna and drags him around. I definitely recommend this little guy!

Great toy!

It has an excellent volume for keeping parental sanity.

It has lots of little handholds for little hands.

The little dance that is does is super cute.

Our baby loved it so much, that during tummy time she started scooting, then finally crawling towards it.

The only minor drawback is because of where the on/off switch is sometimes it gets bumped into off position when getting pulled across the carpet by a wee one.

Leapfrog Counting Candles Birthday Cake

My daughter received this as a gift for her 2nd birthday. I think that is the perfect age for this toy, although my older kids (3, 5, and 8) have all had some fun with it, too! My two-year old does need some help blowing out the candles sometimes, but she absolutely loves this little cake! She is at the age where she just loves singing the birthday song, so this present was a great choice for her!

What I like:

1. You press the button and each time you do, a candle lights up. So, you can light just one candle, or two, or all five...it's up to you. When you have the number of candles lit that you want, just wait a second and if you don't press the button again, the bday song will start. My two year old likes to press it until all 5 candles are lit (even though she is 2!), and she counts out loud along with the little voice coming from the cake.

2. It's cool that while the song is playing, you can press the buttons to hear cool sounds and fun melodic variations thrown in. I love that if my daughter starts pushing buttons during the song, it just adds to the fun of the song, but finishes! I get so tired of toys where a push of a button stops something right in the middle to go on to something else! Little kids love pushing buttons over and over, so I think whoever designed this, did it RIGHT! Thank you!

3. The best thing about the cake is that you can actually "blow out" the candles (via a little grouping of holes in the middle of the cake). And the cake says "Yay!!" after you do, which my kids love and join in on.

4. It has a volume adjustment. (Parents always LOVE to be able to control the volume a bit!)

5. It is little! I love that it is little, which means my 2-year old can pack it around easily and it doesn't take up much room on a shelf.

What I'd like better:

1. The birthday song is instrumental and it is just plain too fast for its target audience (approx. 1-4 yr. olds) to keep up with as they try to sing along. When we sing for birthdays at our house, we always slow down/pause slightly after saying the name, before singing the final "Happy birthday to you." (Most people I know do the same thing.) In the instrumental melody the cake plays, not only is it too fast all the way through, but it doesn't slow down or pause at all at that point in the song. I wish it did and I think it'd be better if the whole song was slowed down a bit. The little ones would be able to sing along with it better.

2. I actually like that there is an instrumental version of the bday song, but I think the toy would be better if there was also an option to have the bday song with KIDS singing. Of course, they wouldn't be able to sing a name, but they could hum in that spot, then finish the song. I say KIDS, because my children (and I think most are the same) much prefer their music and musical toys that have kids voices singing over the ones that have grown-ups voices doing the singing. Plus, I think with kids singing, the song would've been recorded at a more appropriate speed for little ones to sing along with.

3. To me it's a little odd that the "cake" is blue. (I know, it could be blue frosting!) This is not really important and I know kids couldn't care less, but just to me personally, I'd have liked it better if the cake was yellow.

Overall though, I think this is a very cool, fun little toy.

I found this toy and wanted to get it for my son's 1st birthday. It arrived just in time and we had a lot of fun preparing him for all the singing at his party (which, in our family, kids tend to cry at big groups singing to them). He loved pushing the balloon and star buttons to "count" to 5, play more songs, hear quirky sounds, and he even started to understand that he can "blow out" the candles (a very cool/fun feature)! The concept is very cute, it teaches children to count and understand what they can expect at their birthday party. The candles actually "glow" with the lights flickering. Also, the flames are coated with a rubberized material ...my son wanted to chew them a bit, but it's very durable. Speaking of durability, he pushed this toy off of our dining table multiple times and the thing keeps on going! I highly recommend this toy for multiple reasons and want to add that, just like my subject line, it's NOT just for birthdays! I think he will enjoy playing with it for years to come. I think I might put it away in a few months so we can bring it back out prior to his 2nd birthday next June so he can build up the fun and excitement all over again!

Even my 6 and 5 year old love this toy. I bought this for my 1 yr old's first birthday and I can't keep my older boys from playing with it! Even adults find themselves entertained with blowing out the candles. The only problem it does take a pretty good force to blow out the candles, a feat my 1 yr old has yet to accomplish. Small children are fasinated by candles & the excitement of blowing them out & of course love to sing the birthday song.

I wish the song wasn't music only it would have been nice to have vocals on it to encourage singing more.

I don't leave reviews often but this one is worth a little of my time! I was searching other things on Amazon when this adorable Leapfrog Birthday Cake toy popped up! I'd never seen it before and once I read the description and reviews, I immediately bought it. And I'm so glad I did! As my title states, someone was using their brain when they designed this toy for a baby/toddler! Not only is it cute and unique but the educational value and functionality is great! My daughter just turned 13 months and I think, this is the best money spent on a toy so far! And for $15it's a STEAL!

Children my daughter's age and younger like to press buttons. We have other toys, many Leapfrog, with the star button and others. Often, when they press the buttons, it interupts and re-starts whatever it's doing. This one actually encourages pressing the buttons during the song! It's fun to watch my daughter light up the candles, and as she does so, the nice voice (some are annoying) speaks loudly, clearly, and at a pace to learn counting! It does more than we've played with yet (which is even cooler) but just the basic functionlighting the candles, singing the song, and blowing out the candles it super funI enjoy playing with this toy along with my daughter!

Her eyes light up when the candles do. She listens to the counting. She dances to the song. She likes to press the buttons...and she actually started trying to blow out the candles for the first time yesterday! She'd been watching me blow out the candles and my husband and I were just thrilled to watch her actually try (she doesn't understand yet that she needs to get closer to blow them out).

I would buy this again if it breaks or if I have another baby down the road. Great birthday gift too! ENJOY!!!

Fisher Price Peek a Block Incrediblock

I can't say enough good things about this toy. It's just perfect. Flashing lights, bright colors, catchy music (which only plays when certain actions are performed, not continuously like many toys)... The peek a blocks are just AWESOME, too. Rounded corners and edges, interesting moving parts inside, etc. And when you place some of the blocks on top of the Incrediblock, the "lady" speaks the name of the object inside the block. This cracks my daughter up every single time. She has spent countless hours just moving from side to side of the Incrediblock, investigating all of the fascinating things she can do. It's also the perfect height for a new walker/stander to play with.

And probably the coolest part from MY perspective as a mom, is that the Incrediblock has built-in block storage, so when playtime is over you can put all the blocks away behind the little door, to avoid stepping on blocks all over the house!

I highly recommend buying a set of extra blocks. We got the alphabet set, and they're a great supplement to the included blocks. I don't think it comes with enough blocks to "fill up" the various locations where blocks can go. The only weird thing about the alpha blocks is that the animal inside the G block is a grub... Why not giraffe, or gorilla? Grub? Really? Okay then...

If you have a kid that is constantly starving for new and exciting toys, you really can't go wrong with this toy.

Overall I like this toy. However, the biggest bummer is that I also got the extra blocks with all the alphabet letters on them.... THEY DON'T WORK ON THIS ITEM! It come with some blocks and when you place them on the top it will say what it is, which is really neat, but the alphabet blocks that you buy seperate only play a song when you plug them in. I also thought that something neat would happen when you place the blocks in the side block cut out spot, Nothing happens : ( My 1 year old son loves to climb on it and put the blocks in the holes, but some of the features I thought I was buying this for were pretty disappointing!

I originally bought this toy for my son before he was born because I really loved the Peek-a-blocks. Before he was even born over 10 kids had played with this ranging in ages 1 to 9 and they were all so entertained by this thing! Granted I have almost 100 of the blocks this thing has so many compartments the kids can be entertained all at once and switch sides. My son is just getting old enough to play with this and already loves it too. I definitely recommend to anyone who loves the peek-a-blocks.

I bought this toy for my 7.5 month old because she likes to bang her toys together...I thought this little drum would be perfect for her and she'd enjoy hitting the balls with the hammer. There is no way a baby or toddler could hit these balls down into the drum. I had a hard time doing it myself. Returning it back to the store.

My son loves this toy. He doesn't use the hammer. He loves to shake it, take the balls in and out of the compartment, and play with the balls. Also, they get much easier to hammer once it has been used a lot.

Mother Goose Rhymes Soft 100% Cotton Children's Book

Very impressed when I first received this book. Looks exactly like the picture. Pages are very colorful. If you count the front and back page, there are twelve total pages. Has the stories of Jack and Jill; Pat a Cake; This Little Piggy; Row, Row, Row Your Boat; Hey Diddle Diddle; Humpty Dumpty; Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star; Hush a Bye Baby; Sleep, Baby, Sleep, (which I've never heard before); and Star Light, Star Bright. Hey Diddle Diddle is a two page story with the other stories showcased on a single page. The pages are numbered and each page has a little padding between them making the book sturdier. The reason for the four stars instead of five was on some of the pages in my book the bottom stitching was uneven in the middle giving the book a sloppy appearance. If all the pages were like that it wouldn't have been noticeable, but when compared to pages 4 and 5 and 8 and 9 which were stitched correctly you can really tell the difference in how the book should look. I could have overlooked the stitching, but there is something hard between the cover page and page 1 which is my main reason for rating it four stars. It feels like metal with points similar to a triangular. I can't get it to move between the pages to the bottom of the book where it would be less noticeable and safer. I don't think it will hurt my grandbaby because I'll be with her when she plays with it, but I'm still not sure if it will eventually tear the material and make it's way out of the book.

Baby Einstein Sea Dreams Soother

We got this for our kid when he was about two or three months old and have used it fairly steadily since (he's just over seven months now). In general terms, it does a pretty good job of soothing him and, after countless kicks of varying magnitude, it seems to be holding up well. It's hardly a perfect product, however, and some things would likely have me reconsidering whether I'd buy it again.

Good stuff:

* Music is tolerable, though quickly redundant (it didn't take my wife or me long to be able to hum along with the playlist of classical snippets).

* The 'underwater' lighting effect is pretty cool.

* Wind-down of light and sounds is gentle and well done.

* Star button is easy for baby to smack to turn on the fun.

* Crib light function is helpful.

OK stuff:

* The remote has its own agenda and doesn't always work. When it does, it's a good thing to have. When it doesn't, it's frustrating. Partly due to what seems to be a sort of 'standby' mode (more on that below).

* Volume difference between the high and low settings on music seems more pronounced than on ocean noise.

* Speaking of which, music on loud can be pretty loud. Good if you're trying to get a screaming baby's attention, but not so great for other applications.

* The sea creatures' movements are really limited, like watching a few seconds' footage of lumbering animals on an endless loop. I find it boring, but I've had nearly forty years worth of life experience to compare it to, so maybe I'm a harsher critic than my often-engrossed kid is. Once he's seen "The Wire" and "Arrested Development," I'm sure this will hold less interest for him.

Weird stuff:

* If you're in either of the lights, action & sound modes, hitting the star gets things going. If you're in either of the sound-only modes and it's been a while since the thing was on, there seems to be some kind of standby mode & hitting the star does nothing. If you're just trying to give your baby some soothing sounds, you have to flip back to a light and action mode to jump start the unit, then quickly flip back to just noise. Apart from the possible burst of light you didn't need, the clicking sounds may prove disturbing to some babies.

* Remote has similar issues: If the aquarium wasn't recently on, the remote isn't going to start it back up, meaning you have to go hit the star on the unit. So much for being covert. It really only makes the remote useful for extended, repeated plays.

Bad and annoying stuff:

* As many others have mentioned, battery life kind of sucks. Buy your Cs in bulk and know where to dispose of them properly. Better yet, get at least eight rechargeables and always have a set ready, because...

* The 'low battery' light is a joke. It's a 'no battery' light. Imagine your car's 'fuel warning' light only coming on after you've used up every ounce of gas in your tank. That's this thing. No warning, just an instantly dead machine and a handy red light reminding you it's dead. Rest assured, cruel laws of thermodynamics beyond human comprehension will ensure that this only happens at 4 a.m., when your child is most agitated and only a Baby Einstein Sea Dreams Soother will calm them.

* Oh, did I mention changing the batteries means pulling it off the crib, taking off the mount, then using a screwdriver to undo the back? Keep a Phillips head and spare batteries nearby. By the second or third month of having this, you should be able to attack this thing like a NASCAR pit crew to get it back up and running in under two minutes. Still, your newly-acquired skills will not excuse a zero-warning shutdown in the middle of the night.

* Lastly, depending on the height of the mattress in your crib or the angle of the mount, it's entirely possible to have pretty bright LEDs beaming right into the kid's eyes as you're trying to get them to sleep. I'm no baby scientist, but that seems counterproductive, unless the idea is to make them squint into submission. Whatever the case, it seems like a 1/1000th of cent plastic flange could've solved that.

I guess the fact I wrote so much about this says either that I do like it or that I want to like it more than I do (or that I need to better address my self-editing). The stuff it does well pleases me greatly, whereas the complaints aren't quite enough to make me send the thing to an early retirement.

Overall assessment then seems to be: It's better than decent, but know what you're getting into.

I've heard great things about this aquarium and I'm excited to give it a try. My biggest complaint so far is that it doesn't fit onto the railing of our crib. Our crib is a pretty standard size (made by Pali) so I'm very frustrated and disappointed to see that it doesn't fit. We still want to give it a try as our baby really seems to like it so we're going to find a way to make it work. My sisterand brother-in-law had the same problem with it and their crib. Another few inches of strap and this would fit perfectly. It's a HUGE oversight on the part of Baby Einstein!

I ordered this about a month ago when my son was 7 months. So far we use it most nights & he hast gotten tired of it yet. He enjoys turning it on & off himself by pushing the star . My only issues with the soother are that 1) it's kind of loud for a soother, even on the lowest setting, 2) it does run those batteries down pretty quickly, and 3) the price, it seems a little bit expensive to me. Still, a nice product that engages, settles & pleases my little guy, so 4 stars!

We love this aquarium. It is super cute and plays really good classical music or ocean sounds. My daughter can't see the aquarium yet (she is only one month old) but she listens to the music. It is very soothing. The ocean scene with bubbles looks like real water and all the animals move back and forth. Great product and definitely worth the money, especially compared to the other soothers on the market!

Fisher-Price Crawl-Along Drum Roll

Looking at this toy, I thought it would be perfect. I thought it would be easy to roll, and my son could crawl after it, I thought he could learn cause and effect by hitting the drum and hearing the sound. Neither of these is true. Like so many electronic toys, this distrats the baby (they do love lights and music), but does nothing to engage them. There is NO mode where you can have the baby hit the drums and have it make a single sound for each time it is hit. The minute you touch the top of the drum, it goes into this really long congo-song. Which the baby likes, but it's not the kind of enjoyment that he gets when he is proud of himself for figuring something out--it's too easy, and it just goes on and on, so I don't think he even associates it with the action. If this toy simply had the ability to change modes so he could do hit it and have it make a single sound for each time he hit it, I would give it at least three stars. The rolling is a total disappointment, too. Because of some weighting issues (which I actually think are deliberate), it won't roll more than 1/2 a revolution. And now that my son is crawling, he does love pushing things, having them, roll, then following after, so I can't see why they would have designed it this way. overall, this is not at all what I had hoped for, and went to the trash. I categorize this as a TV toy: distracting, but not engaging.

I bought this for my son who is just starting to sit up on his own for longer than 5 minutes and who likes to hit. When I put this in front of him, and the lights started flashing and the music began to play, his face turned to immediate concentration. This is the first time I've seen him look this way since he was trying to figure out his pesky hands and arms a couple of months ago. He loved it! For a parent who really loves music and wants to share that with their child, this is one of the more fun musical instrument toys out there for this age-range. I know he doesn't quite get what he's doing, but the joy on his face is enough for me!

When my brother-in-law and his family came to visit for Father's Day, they brought this toy for their 6-month-old to play with. My 5-month-old absolutely loved it, and the two babies enjoyed it together the entire weekend. It was definitely their favorite toy (by far). The best part is the way it can be configured either as bongos, for play, or as one rolling piece, which encourages them to follow and crawl. It lights up and makes noises that delight the little guys. I was amazed how much inspiration it gave my 5 month old, who showed pretty much NO interest in crawling prior to this. It's a great toy! I purchased this for my son for his first birthday. He loved it and enjoyed it for about 2 years when the wires inside broke and it no longer worked. It's not really educational, just push a button and music (one tune, over and over) plays and it lights up, but not on demand, like every time you push a button something happens. It's just push it once, get the long tune and flashing lights. I expected it to be more durable as it was just normal use that eventually wore it out. I think there's a design flaw with the way it's wired because it puts strain on the electronics when you move it into the crawling toy and back to the bongo drums style, eventually wearing through the wires until they break. Because this was (STILL, at age 3) my son's favorite toy, I bought a new drum to replace it, but I went with International Playthings Flash Beat Drum, which is half the price, better for a crawl-along toy (for his little sister), plays more songs, reacts to each hit of the drum with sound and lights instead of just one time, and is overall a better toy. My nine month old loves it, too, whereas she couldn't get the Fisher Price drum to play because she wasn't strong enough. I give this Fisher Price one three stars, but only because my son liked it and really he is super easy to please. For the price, I'd give it more of a 1 1/2.

We got this when our daughter was 4 months, just starting to sit up, and showing an interest in toys with lights and sound. This was the only toy she was strong enough to hit and get a response. She found it pretty entertaining at 4 months b/c it was much brighter, flashier and noisier than the usual toys for this age group. Now that she's 6 month, she is less interested in it. Likes others have pointed out, we were disappointed that this isn't really a cause and effect toy. Hitting a drum does kick off one of two songs. And if you listen closely, continuing to hit the drums actually DOES produce new drum sounds. The problem is that the music is so loud and dominant, you can only just barely hear the drum sounds.

We haven't used this as a crawling toy yet, but I don't see this toy having long-term appeal. I think even my daughter thinks it's annoying.

Bunnies by the Bay Bao Bao's 123 Book, Tan

I think the idea behind the book is great teaching young children to count to ten using the Bunnies by the Bay personalities. The execution, however, could have been better. Each number has a character assigned to it and there are the specified number of that character for the child to count. Example: five lounging ladybugs.

A couple of these characters are not so easy to count. One of the "slinking snails" has almost slinked completely off the page. And one of the worms can be seen with its head popping out of one hole and its tail popping out of another, making it at first appear to actually be two worms.

Duck Toddler Costume

Ordered this costume for my 16 month old daughter for Halloween. The fit on the body was generous but appropriate given that she needed to wear a layer of clothes underneath. The fit of the headpiece was a bit too large for herit kept dropping over her eyes. As she is the size of an average 2-2.5 year old, I felt that the headpiece was a bit out of proportion. A longer hook and loop strip or a short ribbon tie would improve fit on this part of the costume.

She loved wearing the body and shoe covers, though she pulled the headpiece off repeatedly. She seemed comfortable as wellnot too cold or hot. The costume is too thick to wear in a carseat, but I think a child could wear it in a stroller.

Overall, this costume was a great deal and I was satisfied with my purchase.

I ordered this costume for my 3 yr old daughter who is on the petite side.... it fit her well and definitely still has room to grow. She LOVED the costume... very warm, soft, not scratchy and the hat part was adorable. Don't hesitate, it's perfect!

We received these slippers as a gift for my son. They LOOK adorable but they really are pointless. At 6 months (the size we were given for him) they just didn't stay on his feet. The size was technically correct but because of the way they are made, it is just extremely difficult for them to stay on his feet. They look cute for a quick photo shoot but DON'T spend your money on these. We held on to them thinking maybe they would work for the next kiddo...nope. Sold them at a consignment sale and I didn't even get 30% of what I paid for them :(

This toy is so cute! My little boy loves to shake it and hear the chimes and since he's teething it's also got the cute little feet for him to chew on. The chimes are really nice, not annoying at all. I love that it's organic too.

Unfortunately within 3 weeks of purchasing it the elastic inside the pull. The picture also didn't do a good job of showing what the whole bee looked like and I assumed it's "back end" was more rounded, instead it was faily long and pointed. I realize it might be a very minute thing, but if I had been able to see the whole bee I wouldn't have bought it based on that. So now we have a longer hanging bee with a pointy bum that doesn't bounce, but it's still fun for my child to play with so I'll get over myself.

LEGO Quatro Bucket

I didn't think 12mo Sam would really be able to use the quatro bricks, which are twice the size of duplo (and therefore 4x regular lego size). To my surprise, they were a hit.

The blocks stick together easily and come apart with no fuss. The top of the storage chest doubles as a base plate. There are orange, purple and green blocks, which was an eye-opener for me: I've never seen a purple lego block.

Sam wasn't building the Great Wall of China out of the box, but the set seemed age-appropriate, durable and fun.

They blocks are indeed easy to pull apart a bit too easy, as the airplane I keep making keeps falling apart. And the lid is great as a building surface, although it's concave (pushed down) a bit so that getting the blocks to stick to it is sometimes tricky.

But the size, number, and colors are great our 13-month-old loves them!

Everyone has fun with these blocks. I think they are a great investment. My son is 1 and has fun building with (and knocking down) his Quatros. It is a great toy for interactive play something he and his daddy play with almost every night before bed. Also, my husband and brother enjoy building with these too ;-) I think it is a toy that'll last more than a few months probably for many years. It is also nice that it is compatible with the preschool table and Duplos. I highly recommend it!

I bought this item for my one-year-old grandson for his birthday, and he is likes it a lot, but my three-year-old granddaughter has been playing with them non-stop. She absolutely loves the Lego blocks! They allow creativity and imagination, and non-stop enjoyment. My grandson can't build things yet, but he likes putting them in the container and taking them out, and, of course, knocking down whatever has been built. Recommend this toy highly.

I know that there is a relatively brief period of time that these Lego Quatro blocks will be useful before my son discovers the smaller, sturdier Duplos, but I just couldn't wait to introduce him to the building blocks that captivated me as a child.

At just 9 months old, my son is too young for the Duplo series. That's where these extra large Quatro blocks come in perfectly. They are larger and softer than their toddler-appropriate counterparts, but they are every bit as much fun, even if they're only being used as teething aides or noisemakers! As other reviewers have stated, the blocks don't stay together as securely as the Duplos would, but I find that to be beneficial while my son is learning how to put them together and take them apart. It also makes the inevitable collapses of my Lego towers that much more spectacular when my son knocks them down!

We chose the extra large bucket of Quatros and don't regret it in the least. There are plenty of blocks in a variety of colors, and being able to use the lid as a building surface is a nice touch. Even if they are only "useful" for a few months, it is well worth it for our family to be able to play with Legos together.

Fisher-Price Wheelies Loops 'n Swoops Amusement Park

We're in the stage where we don't have as much energy as we did when we had little children so this is a welcome addition to our "keep the grandbaby and young visitors entertained" collection.

The grandbaby is a bit young for it but that will soon change. In the meantime, friends have had grandchildren and they are eager to visit.

I prefer toys which leave plenty to young ones' imaginations. This does, allowing older babies and toddlers to release their Wheelies vehicles filled with Little People riders down a long ramp. They can see what happens, then experiment a bit and then watch the results the next time around.

There are lights, sounds, and all sorts of moving parts. There is also a ticket booth, mirror, food stand, movable flags,and more. And, of course, the Wheelies cars (two in this set) and their passengers.

If you decide to purchase this, do keep in mind the fact that it does take up some space, being over 2 feet tall. But make room for it if you possibly can. There are so many attention-grabbing activities in this set that toddlers and even babies as young as 14 months remain (miraculously) in place long enough for parents or grandparents to sit back and take a breath.

It sure beats running after an active toddler darting from one thing to another. I've raised our children. I now take a nap several times a week. I also have some visitors who don't always keep track of their children as well as I'd wish.

So I am almost as much in love with the Loops n' Swoops Amusement Park as the little ones. This set and some well placed baby gateshelp keep things as stress-free as I could possibly imagine when toddlers hit our house.

I'm not a total grump and spoil sport. I do like to get down on the floor and play with the kids sometimes. I just have a harder time getting up than I used to. Knees creak. Bones groan. So I'm glad this often needs minimal adult assistance for kids to enjoy it.

You do need to have AA batteries on hand so stock up ahead of time on those. On warm days you can take this outside and on cold ones you may keep winter boredom from turning into utter stir crazy insanity. I remember those very l..o..n..g winter days.

If you're anticipating guests with very young children for Thanksgiving, Christmas or any occasion in between, seriously consider purchasing the Wheelies Amusement Park.

I left this one up to my 23 month old to review.... I figured his level of expertise in this area is much less outdated than my own. He loved it from day one. I got lazy and didn't build it right away when it came in and he eyed up the box for 2 days until my wife finally put it together for him. I have to add in that he tends to love anything that has to do with cars or choo choos, but he went right for this toy. He figured out how to use it pretty quickly... my wife didn't have any trouble putting it together and it seems to be durable enough that it will probably last for a while. If you buy one, I hope your little guy likes it as much as mine did and thanks for taking the time to read my review.

I bought this for my toddler and he hasn't stopped playing with it. After 1,678,543 drops down the ramps, he has not grown tired of it. This is a big deal, because as many of you already know, keeping a toddler entertained for more than a few minutes can be a task.

The toy itself is very durable. I actually tripped over it this morning pretty hard and it got the best of me. It's solid. It held up just fine. Anyways, the toy is well constructed and very well made. The ramps zoom the cars really fast, which makes my toddler laugh, so I laugh. It is really colorful and fun to look at. It also works fine with almost any matchbox car, minus the loop at the end. This toy is great because it is just the right size to make your toddler feel like he/she is big. Sometimes toddlers need to feel like they are big.

Anyways, I fully recommend this toy. This toy looked pretty cool when I first saw it, and it was even cooler once I put it together. I'm pretty sure your little one will love this toy, so give it a shot. Take care!

The F-P Wheelies Loops'n Swoops Amusement Park is a double-track roller coaster play set. It provides a lot of vehicle action enhanced fun. With this 2-feet-tall tower, in rich color, my grandson repeatedly enjoys non-stop wild rides! With plenty of lights, sounds, and songs to keep him immersed, with the help of their imagination. With just a simple push, instant release of the car's roller-coaster action sends it flying down the ramp.

This review considers the age of active kid who take part, in the set assembly, even partially and can enjoy being a part of this amusement park little-people racing car events. I selected this Fisher Price amusement assembly for my 5 years old grandson, as a birthday present. Oliver is fascinated with cars and trucks, and got trained in LEGO assembly. I presume that his older brother will give him help in tricky assembly steps, under their dads supervision.

I am less convinced this set is suited for a kid younger than four years, who may only enjoy watching and be thrilled with the speedy race on the sloping ramps, that normally boys enjoy more than girls. They will enjoy the sounds, honks and funny songs, even more than the older kids, but the educational value of the assembly will be diminished for a two or three years old. An important part of the experience is: the five years will love running the show!

I agree with park assembly description that, Loops'n Swoops Amusement Park is fun to play with Little People mini cars. Being over 2 feet tall, so the wheelies really zoom down each of the ramps, and above all its 360 degree loop fun, will be appreciated more by the older folks. Being anchored by a rolling ramp filled with twists and turns will in fact decide how durable the park will sustain its assembly durability. But the kid operating it will gain self confidence in addition to the enjoyment of all participants.

This toy consists of two little cars and two ramps. You can't reconfigure the ramps. You can send the cars down a loopy ramp to the bottom (though the car usually flies off the ramp somewhere in the middle). Or you can send a car down a steep straight ramp so that it travels upside down around a loop. It moves very quickly and is hard to see. The cars can race if they are simultaneously sent down the ramps.

Other than that, there's not much else to do. There is a wheel to turn and a button to press to play music. If the car goes all the way around the twisting loop, the car should set off the music. But the car typically flies off the middle and doesn't make it all the way around.

The people are stuck inside the cars. So you can't take them in or out. The set isn't compatible with regular Little People toys. The toy is ok. It didn't hold my 2 year old's interest for long.

Spanish Wooden Alphabet Blocks

I just received this set brand new and was actually very disappointed to learn that it's two letters short. I grew up mostly bilingual and wanted to teach my toddler the Spanish alphabet. I chose this set specifically because I can just remove the additional letters (CH, LL, N with the Tilde, and the double R) to practice the English ABC's with her.

I am well aware that there are discrepancies regarding the actual number of letters in the Spanish alphabet, with some sources stating 27 up to the traditional alphabet counting 30. Most sources I checked, including native speakers in my family, stated that of the extra letters, the double R is the most recent casualty dropped from the official alphabet. That being said however, Uncle Goose includes all four letters in their 28 block set, which leads me to my problem...when I try to put together the entire alphabet in Spanish with this set, I end up two blocks short, always missing the W and the Y (the letters are available since each block has multiple letters on it, but you can't put one block in two places.) Granted, I have no problems putting the alphabet together in English, but if that was all I wanted to do, I would have just ordered the English set for my daughter.

It's a great concept, and I have written Uncle Goose directly to ask for the two missing letters to what should be a 30 piece set. Also, price check before ordering this, or any other Uncle Goose set, from Amazon. I found it cheaper by $1.00 on the Uncle Goose site, which goes pretty far these days.

***UPDATE: I emailed the company which manufactures the Uncle Goose blocks explaining the situation and requested the missing blocks. Their response indicated that they are aware letters are missing, even though the item description calls it a "complete set." They also told me that due to their manufacturing process, they had to make a "compromise" and purposefully left out the missing letters. I was told they could send me the two letters I needed to make a 30 piece set and asked to pay the $5 shipping fee. This is unacceptable.

FYI to bilingual parents or those working to teach their child a second language, go ahead and buy this set if you don't mind not having the whole 30 letter alphabet. But look for other options if this is your intention. It's not worth the frustration.

Wader Super Garbage Truck

I was glad to have found a good price with reasonable shipping on this truck. I saw it on ebay and decided it would be a good one for my garbage truck-obsessed son, but the price was too high and the shipping was insane for this large but not very heavy truck. This truck is nice because it is very sturdy and interactive. I also love that it doesn't require batteries (so I don't have to change them!) but does require a healthy imagination. There is no plastic in the windows around the cab so you can put your own drivers in.

Corolle Mon Premier Mealtime Set

Overall, my daughter enjoys playing with it. She was about 15 months when we gave it to her, and we held back the doll pacifier and spoon -both seemed a bit too small for her right now. She particularly likes the milk and juice bottles. It would have been nice if the milk had the disappearing feature some other sets have, but after reading poor reviews of the quality of those products, I'm glad I spent the money on Corolle instead.

I bought this set to go with my 18 month old daughter's Corolle Mon Premier Calin Laughing Flowers Baby Doll. First off, she loved the bowl and spoon and feeds the doll and everyone in the house. The bib fits fine, but she is not really interested in it. The problem I have with this set is that the cup, bottle, and especially the pacifier do not "fit" in the doll's mouth. This is fine for the cup and bottle, but the pacifier would be much better if it somehow stayed in the doll's mouth.

Essentially, this set is not bad, but it is not so specific to this doll that another, prehaps cheaper, set wouldn't be just as good.
