Little Tikes Cozy Push & Ride Coupe

My husband and I really loved this toy, especially the functionality of the removable handle, so we took our son to the local Toys R' Us to try it out. My son absolutely loved it, but he kept sliding down in the seat and trying to climb out. We looked at a few other competitor's models and found them to have safety belts, which made them preferable. We cannot understand why a company as large as Little Tykes that specializes in children's toys does not comprehend the need for a safety belt on their ride on toys! Anyway, we read one of the reviews on this toy where a woman ordered a replacement belt for the toddler high back swing from the Little Tykes website and drilled and cut holes in this car and added this seat belt to make it safer. Well, we found a better way of installing a seat belt. A competitor, Step 2, has a product called the "Push Around Buggy" which has a seat belt that screws into the car. I went to their website and called their phone number and ordered a replacement belt for their item, which only costs around $2.50! What a deal! Well, all you have to do is screw the seat belt straps into each side of the car and viola', you have a safer version of the Little Tykes Cozy Push and Ride Car. We sincerely hope Little Tykes will catch on to parent's concerns about the safety of their little ones and make sure all of their ride on toys are equipped with a safety belt!

I bought this toy as an alternative to my stroller for taking walks around the neighborhood. My son (I bought this for him at 17 months) would get bored in the stroller, so I thought this would be fun. Well, he does really like this car, but there are some issues with it. First, there is no safety belt, so your child can attempt to stand whenever the desire moves them. Second, when pushing him on cement it is extremely loud (my husband wanted me to stop using it for this reason alone--I cannot overemphasize how loud this thing is! We were concerned with hearing loss). Last, although there is a cup holder on the inside for baby, it would be nice to have some type of holder on the exterior for the parents--to hold a beverage, or keys or something. If the wheels were redesigned to make this toy quieter, an exterior cup holder added, and especially a safety belt added I would give this 5 stars. For now, I give it 3.

Prior to purchasing this sweet ride, my son had the ridden many a mile in the standard Little Tikes Cozy Coupe. After suffering through days of back pain, I realized their had to be a better way...well, this is it. This car had 2 distinct advantages over the cozy coupe:

1) The removable push handle..saves the old back. Also allows me to push for longer periods of time, and this has all but replaced our stroller.

2) Removable floorboard...although my son wanted to be pushed in the cozy coupe, he would sometimes forget to lift his feet, thus scraping his toes and causing many "ouchies"...removable floorboard prevents this in push mode. He can always remove when ready to push himself in Flintstone mode.

Bottom line: This vehicle is more versatile than the cozy coupe. There's nothing the cozy coupe can do that this vehicle can't.

I bought this for my son when he was 9 months old. He too got bored with the stroller. I loved the built in cup holder! The only problem was that since the floorboard was in he would try to stand up. There was no seat belt to secure him in. We found a way to fix the problem: We cut off the staps off an old grocery shopping cart and bolted them into the back of the car. This completely worked and was a life safer. So if anyone needs a seat belt try that.

My 20 month-old got this for Christmas, and I have never seen him so excited over a toy! He calls for his "cah-cah" (car-car) the first thing every morning and basically has to be pried from it for eating or nap time. He loves the opening door. Since he's a bigger baby, he's just the right size to push it with his feet, but for longer walks, it's a must to have the floorboard in so his feet won't drag.

I was a little surprised that this version of the Cozy Coupe is a good bit smaller than the original Coupe without the push-bar. My five year old is way to big for it, although it's perfect for my 20 month old when the floorboard is out. With the floorboard in, he still fits in it, but his knees are almost up by the steering wheel because the floorboard sits pretty high. He doesn't mind at all, though, and seems realy comfortable when we go for walks.

I thought the suggestion from another reviewer about ordering a replacement screw-in seat belt for a similar push and ride car from the Step 2 company was ingenious. I've called and ordered one, since having a seat belt seems necessary for going on walks. My son also sometimes tries to stand up and climb out while I'm pushing it.

Also, another review from a few years ago commented on how LOUD these plastic wheels are on pavement or concrete. After reading her comment and remembering how loud my older son's regular Cozy Coupe was, I went out and bought 2 rolls of black electrical tape and wound half of each roll around the middle part of each wheel, making a kind of cushiony strip around the middle of each. I think it helped with noise a lot, and the black tape is hardly noticable. If you've already used the car outside, you might need to clean the wheels and dry them so the tape will stick.

I do wish the car were a bit bigger and had a seatbelt, but all in all, I think my son (and me and Dad) will really get a lot of enjoyment out of it!

Bright Starts Jungle Fun Flash Cards

My only disappointment is that only one of the "cards" is crinkly, I expected all 5 to be. My 7 month old still loves it but the crinkly part is the favorite. If all 5 cards were crinkly it would rate 5 stars.

My Big Star Chart (1yr+)

I can pick and choose which things to work on with my child for different steps in her life. Right now she is 2 1/2. Plus there are a few blank ones to write my own (one of which is brushing her teeth). I use the smiley faces for when she's good or at least tries, but the gold stars for when she's great! For every 10 stars, she gets to go out for ice cream. This has helped with reinforcing to share, be polite (please, thank you, excuse me, etc.), a reward for going to bed like a big girl (transition not only into a toddler bed, but also into a new room when we moved, brushing and flossing her teeth, and potty training. I do recommend this little chart. It's just perfect! I gave it 5 stars because it has plenty of stickers, it's not poor quality, it keeps my child wanting to do a good job, and it's fun for me to see her get so excited when she gets a new sticker. They aren't easily ripped. Matter of fact, I take them off after she gets 10 stars on the chart and put them back on the sheets and reuse them. So far I've reused the same stickers 4 times now and they stick just fine! I do highly recommend this product and might need to buy another 1 or 2 for my other children since there is only room for 1 child's name on it. But I feel it's totally worth the price!

I wasn't sure about purchasing this reward chart due to the cost, but am really glad I did. The chart and stickers are of a high quality material that can even be removed from the chart and reused (if needed). There are prefilled stickers and blank stickers for choosing your own goals. I bought this chart awhile back and feel we will get a lot of years of use out of it for both kids.

I love this chart for my 2 1/2 year old learning to potty train. He loves to put the stickers on after he goes. What is great is there are blank pictures that you can write in what behavior you would like them to do. I use smiley faces for when he does the main items and when he goes pee pee, but when he goes poop in the potty which is a BIG deal he gets a star sticker! I love that it will grow with him and I can change the behavior I want to reinforce. I have also reused the stickers a few times and they still have some stick on them. The sticker quality is perfect. Just sticky enough to stay put on the charts, but not too sticky that you can't remove them from the walls or floors without injury to the surfaces.

The chart worked spectacularly with my sons for potty training and morning wake-up routines.

I got this toy for my 2 month old because he would get cranky in the car at times and thought this would be the perfect way to intertain him for a long time. It is one of the best toys for the car seat I think because it sits great on his lap. I tryed hanging toys from the car seat handle but all the toys I tryed either were too short so they were really far up and didn't catch his attention or really long and hung in his face literally. At first when we gave our son this toy he didn't pay any attention to it at all for the first day or two. But then one day we were driving and hear him giggling and talking away so we look back and he is staring straight at this toy..SO CUTE!!! Now everytime we get in the car he just has so much fun staring at this toy. I am SO GLAD I got this toy to intertain my little one in the car.

When my son was 7 months old, he really liked to play with this toy. It was great for him to learn to grab and hold on to things and to explore different textures. At 17 months, he'll still play with it sometimes but not like when he was younger. It is big enough that it can sit on their belly (in a bouncy chair) or on their lap/floor in front of them and be easy for them to grasp at it and manipulate it but not so big it engulfs them. A good toy especially for the second half of the first year!

My 10 week old loves this! She tracks the light with her eyes. It entertains her in her crib for a good 30-40 minutes at a time. I am buying as a gift for my friends having babies too. My baby is picky and I haven't found too many things that can entertain her by herself like this one. I have changed the batteries once in 3 weeks. They are a bit of a pain to change and the connecters in between the batteries tend to spring out when taking out the batteries. But small price to pay for such an entertaining baby toy.

One side is black and white with red lights. The other side is filled with colorful animals and the lights are different colors. There are three options. Two are classical music and one is just lights. The classical music can get a little repetitive but it doesn't seem to bother the baby. The lights are engaging and our baby definitely tracks the lights with her eyes. I had purchased a few tummy time mats and wish I would have just gotten this instead. Our baby can be on her tummy or side when this is playing and this keeps her entertained for awhile. Sometimes I will put this on her lap when she is sitting in her car seat with us at the restaurant when we are eating dinner. We haven't had problems yet with batteries. It takes quite a lot though. Bottom line: I highly recommend the Yookidoo Baby's First Bumper Book.

The lights, music, and drawings were very interesting to my 3 month old, who got it for Christmas. However, after a couple of days, it seems like it got stuck in demo mode. It stops music and lights after a couple of seconds, when they should last for 10 minutes. Unfortunately, I cannot exchange it and give it another try, since at the moment it is not available directly from amazon and the current vendor has it priced at $10 more.

I received this as a baby shower gift, and my now 4 month old loves it.

I like Jellycat in general their toys are lovely and such high quality. But Jellycat retires their animals on a regular basis like beanie babies. Old popular toys end up on online auction sites for hundreds of dollars. My best friend learned this the hard way. Her daughter fell in love with Crochetta Mousewhich is now discontinued and impossible to find (if you see one around, let me know). So she has a worn out doll that her 2 year old is fiercely attached to, and she is terrified of the doll being lost or damaged beyond repair.

This is a soothie it's specifically a comforting toy that a child can get attached to. So I came here and bought a second (and considering a third). Seeing how much my daughter loves hers already, and knowing that Jellycat discontinues, I had decided that if I couldn't find a second one, I'd take it away from her altogether and find something else to get attached to.

Anyway, glad I didn't have to find something else. This is great. It's SO soft and sweet. And the color of pink is perfect. So is the size. She curls up with it in her arms and It's not so big like a blanket that I worry about it.

I couldn't do without this! I received this as a gift from a friend and my baby girl just LOVES it! She chews on it, sucks on it, cuddles it. When it's nap time I get her settled and give this to her, she grabs it pulls it to her cheek and within 5mins she's asleep! It's so absolutely soft, I've never felt anything this soft! And the floppy bunny is just adorable! I'll definitely be grabbing a second to keep on hand should anything happen to the one we have!

I bought this item for several reasons. First, I am tired of plastic toys with a short shelf life (and requiring batteries) so I am replacing many items with wood toys that will be able to last for generations and handed down in the family. Second, my grandson loves things that spin (wheels, gears, etc.) and he is fascinated in watching them and observes enough to be able to attempt...but gets frustrated if he can't get things to spin very well (he even tries to spin rubber coasters on their edge...lol). I saw this and though it would be perfect for a 2-year-old to spin, plus it has the wheels he likes to rotate, and the spiral decor around the handle looks neat while spinning. It keeps his interest for a little while and he doesn't get frustrated with it "falling over". He also likes to scoot it across the floor. It is also very durable. For a top-like toy, it think it's a winner. It is definitely age-appropriate for the 2-4 year old toddler who is beginning to discover how things interact when they do something with it...basically a great little learning toy....and, it is MADE IN USA!!!! I would recommend it.

Our son loves this toy. He was 8 months when we bought it and granted it took him acouple attempts to play with it and not be started by the noise when he turned the steering wheel or pushed on the turn signals, which are super cute cause the arrows light up and the toy says " cookie cookie " when the light blinks.

I can put this toy in the crib with him and he will play with it and let me get an extra 15-20 minutes worth of sleep....

My 16 month old son isn't into this so much, he likes to sit in his carseat and just reach a hand over...and hold down the "radio" buttons, which is Oscar saying "all Garbage, ALL the time" and then some music.

This toy is painfully loud, and there's no way to adjust the volume.

If your child will be playing with it outdoors or something silly like that, then it's decent. The sound effects and phrases are amusing, and there's lots of different interactions (push, pull, twist, turn, etc).

Indoors, however, it's just too loud, even for adults (children generally have better hearing than adults, so if it's loud to us, it's even louder to them).

My son has this toy.....I think it's hilarious and probably play with it more than he does. It's too funny. As for it being loud....it's no louder than some of the other toys out there. It's extremely durable as we have laminate flooring and my son has tossed/dropped it several times. He'll be two year old next week and he still has fun playing with this toy.

Roadmaster Duo Deck 10-Inch Trike

After much research and shopping around for a good quality tricycle for my two-year-old, I found this Roadmaster and am very pleased! My main criteria for choosing a tricycle were:

(1) The trike should not be tippy. Several popular models (like the Radio Flyer Fold 2 Go) seem to tip over with the slightest nudge.

(2) The tires should be made of rubber, not hard plastic. Plastic tires provide a rough ride, are loud on rough pavement, and show their wear much moreso than rubber tires.

(3) Value While I don't mind spending more for better quality/features, some models seem overpriced for what they offer.

My 3-year-old son has a Schwinn Roadster 12-Inch Trike (Red) (also highly recommended), but I had been considering the Radio Flyer classic red dual-deck tricycle for my 2-year-old, until finding this Roadmaster model. The quality and features seem comparable to the Radio Flyer (minus the streamers on the handlebars). It has nice solid metal construction, and rubber tires. The trike is nice and stable. Assembly was required, but was straightforward. At the lowest adjustable seat position, my 2-year-old can reach the pedals nicely, and should be able to grow with the trike for some time. And, of course, the ultimate test my daughter loves it! This Roadmaster trike is a great unit, especially at its price point.

We got this bike for our 2 year son for his birthday. It's a great bike all around. You won't be disappointed with this bike.

Reasons to buy :

(1) The trike should not be tippy.

(2) The tires should be made of rubber, not hard plastic.

We have twin 2.5 year old girls. So we got 2 trikes. The Girls are still a little young for it even at the lowest setting. They are very slightly on the tall side for their age. Probably in another 3 months they will be peddling around.

Quality is only so-so.

As the label on the bike says: "designed in USA, made in China".

The design for this bike is pretty good. But every every effort has been made to save money on the parts. There are little things that indicate a lack of attention to detail: low quality hardware, washers that are the wrong size, I had to use some of my own washers in order to properly bolt the main frame to the step otherwise the supplied screws just pass through.

You have to really crank on the steering wheel screw in order to get it to stay in place. Also, the steering wheel on one of the bikes won't go perfectly straight.

The tires that were supplied are not true on the wheel. They are a little warped.

All that said, when this trike is on sale it is worth it. They do seem solid enough. And I like the old school design.

I'm very happy we selected this tricyle. Our daughter is two and a half, and on the shorter side, and she was able reach the pedals and ride the trike without any problem. It seems very sturdy and our daughter loves riding it. We love the retro look of the trike and feel the price was very reasonable. We did have one problem but it was resolved to our satisfaction. When we received the product one of the pieces was damaged (from shipping I presume). The seller (JPL Goods) responded very quickly to our issue and we had a replacement part in a matter of days.

Maybe I'm the only person so far that thought this trike is just OK. I purchased it for a toddler as part of a charity Christmas toy drive. I had high expectations for it because of the prior reviews and hope that this makes the little boy happy. But I am a little disappointed with it and wonder if I would buy it again for my son. First off, the bolt that holds the seat in took a lot of effort to screw in-ok, way too much effort. The seat install took about 30 minutes, the majority of the time I spent assembling the trike. Obviously the hole wasn't tapped correctly. Also, the back wheels are a bit wobbly-not enough to be a real problem or dangerous but it bothered me. Worst part in my opinion is the tires. They smell horrible. I just hope the air out soon. To put this in perspective, I have a 3000 square foot house and could smell them everywhere I went. I had to put it in the garage immediately-the trip to work tomorrow with it in the car is going to be a long one. Bottom line, love the retro look, the price was right, but there are enough issues that I may think twice before buying this when my son is old enough.

I purchased this for my daughter who is one. It is wonderful! We are at the pool every weekend. I sometimes get tired of holding her and this is the perfect solution. This is the cutest bank I've ever seen in my life! My three year old daughter fell in love with her immediately and couldn't wait to put her coins in. It is small (the bank inside is smaller than the animal plush), but the PERFECT size for a toddler in my opinion because they just want to play with them anyway and it's VERY durable. She loves to shake it and here her money rattle around inside. My 18-month old grandson LOVES these! however, we do NOT put them anywhere near water. Any toy that gets water inside it is not sanitary for very long none of them. We never intended them for the water. Having said that...They are soft and colorful. Where Carter goes, he has one of these trains with him. I actually bought a second set so he could have one at home. Wonderful purchase...for dry land.

I bought these for my 2 year old. He loved playing with them in the tub. They are very hard to squeeze the water out. I also noticed that after the first time using them, flaky blackish stuff comes out of the hole when you squirt them. Kinda looks like fungus or mold. If you just want to play with them on the water's surface then fine. But dont plan on squeezing them too often without letting the water dry completely in them or you will have black flaky stuff floating in your child's bath water!

I personally would not buy them again.

I just got these bath toys and they smell horrible, with a very strong chemical odor. Do they need to de-gas for a while or what? I think I'm going to leave them outside for a few days. Something that smells this bad cannot be safe for my child.

First, these are very hard to fill with water -for me, let alone for my 2 y/o. Second, they float on their sides, rather than upright. Third, you'll never get all the water out of them so they'll be moldy before long. I threw mine away today after only a few times in the bath -because they aren't any fun.
