Walking Duck Toy - a fun wooden toy

My 3 year old saw this in a store and wanted it. I surprised him with it for his 3rd birthday and he absolutely loves "Quackie". He takes great pleasure in watching the duck walk down the plank, and some fine motor skills are involved in setting up the plank and placing the duck in the proper position for it to walk down. It's terrific that it's wooden, simple, no batteries, no plastic, no bright ugly colors. Just a simple wooden walking duck. Super duper toy!

V.Smile Baby Smartridge Barney

Be aware that these cartridges are for the "V.Smile Baby" learning system. They will NOT fit in the original "V.Smile" learning system.

My son is 2 years & 4 months old. He sees his big sister playing her V-Smile and wants to do it too; so V-Smile Baby is great for him. After 2 times playing with him and showing him how to do it, he can now sit alone and play for about 10 minutes. That is a lot for his age!! This is most useful though as a adult and child together toy.

I will say that all the V-smile Baby cartridges cover the same topics (numbers, shapes, colors) and I won't buy more becuase I am approaching this as a learning toy, not a TV time.

My older daughter did not like this game when we got it at age 3. Too babyish for her. This is just right for 2.5 years old.

I purchased this for my son for Halloween. He loved it, but there were a few "structural" issues. I had to remove the headband from the hood and tie it around my son's head. It was partially sewn on in an awkward area which wouldn't fit anyone's head. It also started coming apart on some seams after wearing it for a night. When it arrived, I also noticed it was missing a velcro piece on the back. It served it's purpose, and looked really cool, but it's not a quality garment.

My son looks absolutely adorable in this costume. It is lightweight and perfectly priced for an outfit my toddler is only going to wear one time. The headpiece allows for something to cover his head without covering his face, obstructing his vision, or wear face make-up which is not good for someone with sensitive skin. Although we have not gone trick or treating yet, he has worn it around the house and seems to enjoy it immensely.

Pets 2 Piece Puzzles

I have another set of this puzzle and plan to buy more from this company. These are not sold in stores and was so excited to find them on amazon at such a great price. These are the perfect puzzle starters for your little one. They are only 2 pieces each puzzle (it comes with 6 puzzles in one box) but it has taught my little one who is 21 months how to understand the concept of fitting a jigsaw puzzle piece together without becoming too overwhelmed with too many pieces. She gets so excited when she finds the piece that matches and loves putting it together on her own. These puzzles are highly durable and I expect they will last a long time. Highly recommend!

So we have the "under the sea" set and the "farmyard" set along with this set for our 20 month old. She can't fit the pieces together by herself (yet) but this puzzle is fun for her to try and figure out which piece goes with which. It comes with 6 animals: dog, cat, rabbit, hamster (I think it's a hamster...could be a guinea pig), budgie, and goldfish. Because the hamster, fish, and rabbit are all similarly colored, she sometimes thinks the rear of the rabbit is the hamsters'....until she sees the tail. The pieces are huge for each animal, so there is no danger of choking on any small parts. The large size also makes it easy to clean up (and for your little one to start helping you clean up their toys!). If your little one is still chewing on things, they might try to chew on these pieces, which would be a worry, since the pieces (like the other sets) are thick cardboard, and I don't think anyone would want their child to ingest pieces of soggy cardboard.

K's Kids Inchworm

We received this "inchworm" for our baby girl just before she was born. When she was about 4 weeks old, I started bringing it out as a toy for her to follow and turn her head. She was entranced the bright colors and the great smile, she loved it. As she has grown she has become more intrigued with it pulling on the antennas to get them to rattle, hugging it and of course putting the little feet in her mouth. She still loves the smile and enjoys staring at it. She also likes the mirror on the back, but the face and antennas are her favorite.

I highly recommend this as a great first toy. Its simple and yet perfect for the first few months of your little one's life:) I'm really impressed with the quality of the product too.

My son is 4 months old and just LOVES this toy! I would say that this is a must have!

I think my 3 1/2 year old and I love this more than our baby.

Got it for him when he was 3 months old. He is 9 months now and barely goes to it. At first it was possibly a nice thing to chew on, but he has other toys and objects that he prefers. The mirror quickly ruined. Its permanently fogged up. Not sure what happened there. The squeeky sound in the head is nearly impossible for my older son to manipulate with his small hands. It seems fun to wrestle...thats what I would do if it was my size. I will be passing this on in hopes some other baby will appreciate it more.

I found a beanie like this one in a thrift store and bought it because it reminded me of my Sharky that passed when she was 16yrs. She was the best dog! I just spent a ridiculous amount of time reading soft-block reviews on here and testing some out in stores. These are half the price of most others, easily the best looking, and have krinkles, jingles, tags, and other 3d things sewn on. My 5.5 month old loves them. Why would anyone pay 2-5x more than this for soft blocks? I got at Target but this (Amazon) is the best price. Almost forgot! These, like so many baby items, say surface clean only but came out of the wash perfect. So do the Lamaze toys.

I actually love these blocks for the most part, but every time my son puts the edges in his mouth he spits it out and makes a face, so I stuck my tongue to it and it has a horrible chemical taste to it! Did the same to the middle of the block and it was fine. If it wasn't for the taste, I would have gone for five stars, but the chemical taste makes me wonder.

I was looking for blocks that could be used for stacking, something educational and of course fun!

What I got that I didn't anticipate is that I enjoyed shaking them, too! HEY I'M A NEW GRANDPA! I'M ALLOWED!

You'll find the sewing to be top notch and solid assembly. Of course, you'll want to check these often to make sure nothing can break off and be a choking hazard but I doubt it will... until my grandson gets teeth and uses them to rip the fabric. (groan)

What I didn't count on that is a real joy is that the bell that is on the inside is actually soothing no loud CLANG or anything like that, just a gentle ring.

I think you'll find this is a very good pick!

My daughter loves the blocks and I did too. That is, until the day I noticed my daughter's mouth was bleeding! At the cut end of the trim, 3 of the 4 blocks have sharp edges. It seems that they way they fused the material together (melting it or something) resulted in hard, sharp edges. Buyer beware!

I got these blocks when my daughter was 5 months old and she loved them right away. She is now 9 months and she still loves them. She seems to like the crinkly blocks better than the rattly/jingly blocks, but they all have something different that attracts her to each of them. I wish there were more than just 4 of these blocks! We always bring at least one block with us when we go out in the car. Washing machine has yet to destroy them, I just put them in a mesh bag on the gentle cycle.

Under The Nile Mouse Toy

I like that this toy is soft, organic, and cute, but I think it is a bit boring for babies. My infant son is just not interested in playing with it at all. He routinely goes for the more colorful stuffed animals and toys, so this mouse just sits on the shelf. A disappointing purchase (though I think it is adorable).

I ordered this mouse thinking it would be a good size stuffed animal. To my surprise its VERY small! Its only about 5 inches tall. It is very cute though.

Lamaze Early Development Toy, Dee Dee the Dragon

The dragon has a rattle that hangs from the hand....originally I really liked all the features but when baby is shaking the toy vigorously this rattle turns into more of a mace and hits really hard. We had to cut it off for safety reasons. After we cut it off we love the toy. The mirror on the tail is my daughters favorite component....I just feel that I shouldn't have to butcher a toy to make it safe.

Definitely my favorite of the Lamaze toys because it's so cute, but my daughter likes the moose and firefly better because they have hard plastic teething rings on them. She usually chews on the mirrored tail which she still likes but not as much as the others.

This toy is really cute! It hangs down about 12 inches from the hook to the bottom of the tail. My daughter is only 6 weeks old but she already loves it. She'll stare at it and even wave her arms around like she wants to touch it, so I'm sure she will appreciate it even more as she grows. The feet and wings are crinkly, the ball has little beads in it, and the tail has a little mirror attached. Love it, wouldn't change a thing about it.

I got three of these and they arrived today. My friend and I took them out of the plastic, and fell in love with all of them straight off. These are all three gifts for my granddaughter and for a child who is like a great nephew to me. I am certain the children will love these. The baby boy is only going to be about 4 months old come Xmas and our granddaughter will be about 9 months. I just cannot imagine that these would not hold their attention so I'm doing the review now. The crinkle sound and the different textures plus the mirrors are just wonderful ideas. I do recommend this product and all of the others that they have in this line. As I find out more, like how the babies interact, I will update but, it holds the attention of one 47-year-old woman and a 62 year old as well, lol. Thanks!

My baby did not start grabbing toys early. We have been waiting while trying to teach him to reach out to a bunch of colorful toys. None of them had him interest enough to really reach out for. This pink little dragon was given at baby shower and it was the one that my baby like the most. He would stop crying when we shake it in front of him in the car. And guess what, it was the first toy he ever had enough interest to reach out and explore (4 months old). I was really glad. After that for days before he started grabbing on other toys solidly. I will buy another Lamaze soft toy today!

Sassy Developmental Bath Toy, Catch and Count Net

Like others who have reviewed this toy, I had been searching Amazon for a bath time toy that did not have a squirter (or any type of internal compartment) that was prone to growing mold.

These toys definitely do the trick. The three fish do no have anything that could hold stagnant water. Each of the fish has a little "bowl" in the middle of them but there are two drain holes to avoid standing water in those bowls. Of course a little water could still remain but it is easily remedied by letting the fish dry upside down.

On the packaging it does NOT say anything about being BPA free but if you go to Sassy's webpage and look at the "Bath Toy Gallery" there is a heading that says "Sassy products are BPA Free and Phthalate Compliant"

For now my 8 month old is content just chewing on one of the fish ... down the road I can't wait for her to play with the net too

Our 3-year-old loves playing in the bath, and this toy is a lot of fun for her. She never seems to tire of catching the little fish over and over again with the net. It dries quickly after bath time, and unlike a lot of other bath toys (especially the squirty ones that hold water inside) we don't anticipate any problems with mold.

The net has holes in the handle tubing so water can enter and it is hard to drain out possibly causing mold. The little fish are a great size for kid hands and my son likes to chew on them but I have noticed the paint has come off of the items. Once I noticed it, I rubbed a fish with my thumb and realized it comes off fairly easy. I wouldn't recommend.

I did a lot of research and bought these bath toys because they wouldn't mold. My 8 month old son loves them since we introduced them to his bath a couple of months ago. They rinsed and kept clean easily. The only problem is that now I noticed the paint was chipping off, and saw that there were paint pieces in his mouth from when he was chewing on it!

The collar is not removable, it would have been cute if it had a little plastic tag that says Biscuit on it.

The inside material it comfortable and doesn't get too hot when your hand is in it.

The eyes and nose are plastic but they are very securely attached.

Sturdy stitching.

The 4 year old likes to cuddle with it during Biscuit Story-time before going to bed.

Fisher-Price Growing Baby Pull Along Froggie

She absolutely loved this little froggie and he wobbles back and forth while clicking. Makes a new 10-month old walker really happy!

Nothing really special about this toy. It really doesn't hold my 15month old grandaughter's attention like some of the other pull toys.

Santa got this for my 10-month-old daughter for Christmas. Her brother uses it more right now, though. He's six and it's not broken yet, so I'd say it's pretty durable.

My question is... is it really supposed to be a frog? That's what I thought first until I started paying more attention. The way it wobbles when it moves looks like a crab walking and the green things up top look like crab pincers. It's like Fisher Price bred a frog and a crab and out came this toy.

I give it one star for educational value I guess it takes a bit of thinking about the anatomy of frogs and crabs in order to figure out what it is.

Manhattan Toy Peek-Squeak Large Activity Toy

I love this softy Toy, it has two medium horns that the could be use as a teether, also teething rings around his neck, hand with magnet so the small bird can attach well, a huge 5 star mirror that will keep your baby smiling, and finally a squeakers legs. My baby love the horns and the mirror and she is still 8 month old, and i think it will be very good toy for toddlers too.

This toy is adorable, but when it arrived my mom pointed out to me that it has a number of small pieces attached by some string. If any of them detach from the toy, then they are definitely choking hazards. I was a little shocked that Amazon sold it as a baby toy without any mention of these small pieces.

Otherwise, it's very cute, but I plan on using it more as decoration than as a toy my baby actually uses.

The colors aren't very bright so this toy only captured her attention by the sounds of the rattle, bird, rings, and squeakers. She preferred this toy when she was around 4 months, now at 9 she prefers to just chew on it. I haven't seen her interested in the manipulative aspects of this toy, one of the whole points, but she does still like it. And I can't imagine any of the small pieces coming free of the toy without scissors, so not a risk.

Mud Pie Baby Jeweled Tiara Bank

This is a cute bank but it is very small. I have it sitting on my daughter's hutch (on her dresser), but it looks too small and doesn't make much of a visual impact. Also one of the jewels was already missing when I received it. I wish I had seen this in person because I probably would have elected to purchase something else.

This product is too small. The jewel fell off when we took it out of the box. Its worth way less than i paid.

My son and daughter in law want to raise a bilingual child. Not only does this angel boy pray in Spanish but it also begins to tell the story of principles, morals and spirituality at a tender age. I raised my children with these prayers and even today they value passing them along to their own children. Lovely!

Care Bears Waterbabies: Wish Bear Waterbaby

I wanted a doll that could do it all, i.e. get dirty and take a bath--I'm surprised there don't seem to be many that can (this was the 1st I saw that could & I was in a hurry :( ) The wiggly water effect is a nice idea and kind of works, but the doll is rather heavy when full of water--TOO heavy for my 18 month old. But she can and does love to play with this doll when its empty. The other big problem is that this doll can only lay down or I guess stand leaning against something. If you don't fill it with water and leave the plug open so air can flow in and out then you can kind of make it sit if you squish some air out, but eventually, it will fill with air again... All in all, it's just a doll, not really a "baby doll" in the pretend mothering sense of the word.
