Crayola 3ct. TaDoodles Washable Tub Crayons (Seal, Lobster, Dolphin)

These are the best tub crayons I have found for my 2 yr. old son. The shape of the animals fit his hands and are easy for him to hold. Also, these are the only tub crayons that the crayon doesn't slip out of the holder when my son is trying to write on the bathtub wall. I do have a tip for all the parents who want to refill the cute round bottomed holders and not have to purchase more each time the crayon in them runs out. I have found if you buy the regular crayola triangular crayons (they come in an 18 pack for $5), rip off the paper, cut the crayon in half and push it down into the animal holder till you hear a little click noise (that means the crayon is basically locked in place in the bottom of the holder) and presto! you have a refill for your cute round tub crayons. I have found the triangular crayons wash off just as well as the ones that come packaged with the holders (I think they are even the exact same crayons!!) I'm not sure crayola wants this secret out, because now we can just but the triangular crayons as refills and save our money by not buying a whole set when the crayon in them runs out!!

My daughter loves these crayons, and they last a long time, and we have never had any problems getting them to stay in the holder or cleaning the marks as others have said. I also love that they float, keeping the crayon part out of the water so that it doesn't turn to mush like other crayons we have tried. For a long time my big concern and I know others have felt the same is that the refills are IMPOSSIBLE to find, and it's expensive and wasteful to buy a whole new set of crayon buddies each time you run out. Finally I emailed Crayola about the refill situation, and it turns out, they don't even sell refills at retailers. However, they sent me a package of 12 refill crayons, free of charge. So overall I love the product; and I'm happy that I was finally able to GET the refills, but I knocked off a star just because of the hoopla you have to go through to get them!

My 15 month old loves these! He draws on the bathtub and the bath walls. The crayons fit in his hands great unlike regular crayons or triangular crayons.

The purple-pink shade does leave a stain behind that requires extra elbow grease, but overall these are great.

They float in the water and still draw even when they get soaked. In fact, my son draws on the floor of the tub while he bathes too.

The crayon kept falling out of the holder and would not stay in. I put them back in according to the directions and they still fell out.

Alphabet Nesting & Stacking Blocks

These nesting blocks are adorable. The colors are bright and cheerful and the cardboard is very good quality. We have the Baby Einstein nesting blocks too -and I think the quality of the cardboard for these Circo blocks is better (although the colors/pictures are more vibrant on the Baby Einstein ones). The Circo blocks have a cube without any opening for the smallest cube, which is different than the Einstein blocks which lack that feature. This is a great toy because it stores very nicely and really captures my 18 month old's interest. I bought this on Amazon for under five dollars, but had to pay more than the item cost in shipping cards (through an affiliate). I'm very happy with the purchase though. If I had to choose between this one and the Baby Einstein version it would be a toss up.

This item is value for the money. Unfortunately, I made the purchase for a 9 month old and it is not suitable being made of cardboard. Within 2 days several of the cubes were chewed up. Definitely better suited for toddlers or older children.

Yes, I played with a similar set and these "stacked up" nicely against them. Sturdy cardboard and should be able to take a beating. Paid more for shipping than the product though but considering I would have to drive 32 miles to the store that sells this brand it was worth it that I didn't have to leave the house.

I was excited about these blocks and I heard good things about them. They are cheap even plus shipping they are less than most other blocks. They arrived timely and actually much sooner than I expected. BUT, they are in poor condition they dont look new, and there is some sticky stuff on one of the blocks. I dont see these lasting in the long run. I'm pretty disappointed because these are the second set of blocks I've tried and failed on. First I tried the Melissa and Doug wooden animal blocks and those broke apart instantly. Now these are in poor condition. Sigh :/

Alex Toys Learn to Dress Monkey

This is a really cute, happy looking monkey that actually teaches without batteries, lights or noise! He has several dressing activities, similar to Dressy Bessy and Dapper Dan. He has a zipper, buttons, straps, etc. to help the little ones learn to dress. It has a lot of detail, check out the shoes! He even has a little banana that can be stored in his pocket, which for some reason fascinates my young grandson! This is a well made, sturdy toy that my grandson loves to play with and love.

My 2 year old loves this monkey. He has fun undressing him when I put the clothes on it (he can't quite get the clothes on the monkey himself yet, but he can sure take them off!). He also loves to wear the 'monkey socks'.

Unlike many of the other 'learn to dress' toys, the individual components of this one are sturdy and well made. The buttons are oversized and are just the right size for little hands. Overall, this is great for teaching children about different types of clothing fastener.

I was looking for a doll with learn to dress features..and ran across this item. I ordered two, one for each two year old granddaughter. They are not quite old enough to perform all the tasks, but will learn. The colors are vivid, the girls love them. You need to know that every piece of clothing comes off....shoes, socks, even the shoe laces, in case you have a child who immediately takes all loose objects off!

I bought this doll for my 2 year old Granddaughter for Christmas. She likes to buckle and unbuckle things so I thought this would be a good toy for her to learn how to button, snap and tie. After she opened it and began to play with it I realized that the buttonhole was too small for the button and the snaps were extremely hard to snap and unsnap. I was thoroughly disappointed in the quality of this toy. I thought it was supposed to help a child learn not frustrate the child! Would definately NOT recommend this toy!

Like other reviewers have mentioned, the buttons are poorly attached one of ours came off the first day, within 30 minutes of play, and our little girl is very gentle with her toys. But what is a bigger issue, in my opinion, is the feet on this doll. The feet are not shaped like feet, they're just 'balls' on the end of the legs, and most importantly, they're soft. They're like round socks filled with stuffing. So getting the socks and shoes onto these 'feet' is a little difficult even for an adult, and practically impossible for a 3 year old. They feet should have been make of a hard material, like a plastic or some kind of stiff rubber, and they should have been shaped like actual feet. As it is, they are useless in helping a child learn to put on shoes and socks. Also, the zipper is cheap and a bit of a challenge to open and close. I find it quite disappointing, because this is a great idea for a learning toy, just very poorly executed.

Girali Square

We were introduced to this line of fine wooden toys while stationed in Germany many years ago. The toys stand up to teething and remain in great shape. They're ideally shaped to be fastened to strollers, car seats, etc., so they can't be dropped. I heartily recommend them -they will be in the family for generations.

I have had it with ugly poisonous plastic junk from China! This toy is fun, safe, and allows the child to use his own imagination when playing (instead of being plastered in front of something emitting tinny sounds and bright Vegas lights in my book no more educational than the TV). The quality is superb. My 4.5-month old likes to get his arm through it and "wear" it this way when he shakes his arms he gets a thrill out of the clanking of the wood. It's also good for teaching him how to manipulate objects using both hands.

About those who think these toys are expensive: something safe, wholesome, with attention to detail, SHOULD be expensive. If a toy is cheap, then you should wonder why. I buy fewer toys, but quality ones. How do you choose to buy electronics/other such toys for yourself? I bet you price is not the only factor.

Melissa & Doug Jumbo Knob Wooden Farm Puzzle

I bought two of the Melissa and Doug puzzles and decided to test them for lead before letting my 9 month old chew on the pieces. This type of puzzle came up POSITIVE FOR LEAD using Lead Check swabs! I would rethink buying one of these as lead exposure has been linked to numerous health problems. This company claims to offer safe, non-toxic toys that they rigorously test for the presence of chemicals. I was initially glad to find toys made from "wood" rather than the usual plastic. After finding lead in this puzzle meant for toddlers, I am appalled at how little we actually know as consumers in this country. Please do not give this puzzle to any child! Who knows how many other Melissa and Doug products contain the same materials... they have certainly lost a customer in me!

The description of this puzzle says, "solid wood" It's not! It's 2 layers of composite board glued to plywood. The fibers easily scrape off along the edges and can be ingested by your child. The pictures are a laminate overlay that can easily be peeled off. Not a great puzzle if you child is still putting toys in his or her mouth.

I love this puzzle! It's beautiful, the pieces fit perfectly, and it is easy for my daughter to figure out. The large knobs make the pieces easy to grasp, and the fact that the picture is painted on the piece and on the board makes it easy to match the puzzle pieces. My daughter plays with it all the time, and it's one of her favorite puzzles. The pieces are big too, so they're easy to keep track of, unlike smaller puzzle pieces that get lost or sucked up in the vacuum.

The only thing I found is that it is important to watch your child play with the puzzle until they're out of the "gnawing" stage. My daughter gnawed off the top picture of the chicken and sheep so that makes me sad since the painting is done by hand, and the pictures are so nice. So now I can only let her play with it supervised, until she stops gnawing everything in sight.

My daughter (13 months) received this toy as a present and really loved playing with it. It's very educational and I loved the wood structure of it. But in just a couple of days the back of the main wood frame started peeling leaving raw edges on the surface and sides. Just what you would need to get a splinter. So now we don't use the board any more. But my daughter still continues to play with the removable pieces.

The idea of this puzzle is wonderful. However it is made incredibly poorly. The edges of the animals and farmer are rough and shed endless wood debris. I have tried wiping the pieces down with a damp cloth, but the edges keep shedding.

I would love to find a puzzle made out of solid wood and not the thousand layers of plywood that composes this product. It's simply annoying and messy, do not spend any money on this toy!

I've just receievd this item and it looks adorable but one of the two pieces is missing -the cap isn't included in the package. K's Kids Jumbo Go Go Go Toy

I didn't listen to all the reviews I read regarding this toy. I just had to buy it and now I am living with the remorse and disappointment. My child is bored to death and it's unstable. First the 'see me' mirror is that plastic stuff that distorts so you really can't 'see' anything but a blur. Second the 'key' can be turned by a baby but it won't get the sounds and lights to work, as it requires nearly sub-human strength by an adult, not to mention coordination. Third if your baby likes to 'move and groove' there's no back support so they can flip right out the back. It's cute, but a complete waste of money.

My infant likes to have this soft place to sit, and watch...and I don't worry about him tipping OVER. The Toddler sits in it whenever he isn't in there....and sometimes even tries to while he is. She plays with the car ignition, and dances to the songs, and honks the horn...which are not very loud or annoying. Just musical.

I read all the reviews and was on the fence about ordering based on the last negative review. But I really wanted this car and I am really glad I ordered it...I LOVE IT! My 7 month old grandson loves it. The key is a simple turn and it makes the car starting up noise and music plays. The horn is an easy tap--no superhuman strength needed here. If someone had problems with it, it was a malfunction and should have exchanged the item. This company has excellent customer service. I received the car within 3 days of ordering it. If your baby can't sit upright on the floor, then you should wait before putting them in this car. It is not made to support them from falling. While the car is a little on the expensive side, it is absolutely durable, colorful, and a big soft pillow for the baby to climb in and out of without harsh edges or toppling over like his other plastic toys. This was one of our 4 month daughter's favorite Christmas presents. She loves to sit in it and look around at us. Her Dad also shakes the car and makes Vroom noises, which she thinks is hysterical. Ty Pluffies Dreamly Red Bear with White Hearts

I thought that it would be a little bit bigger, but it is still a pretty decent size. Not too small.

And, the eyes are sewn on. I thought that they were beads.

But, overall I love this bear! It is so cute, and so valentines-y. Perfect for mine and my boyfriend's first Valentine's Day together!

Plus, it shipped here faster than the expected ship day, it got here in three days! It gave me an estimated shipping time of 4-14 days.

My wife and I bought this for my sonm when he was 3 months old. Everytime he would cry, we played the ABC's and it would calm him down. He would cry every time we took it away until he fell asleep. Now that he is 13 months old, he sleeps with it in his crib and it still helps him go to sleep. He holds on to it all night long and when he wakes up in the middle of the night, we hear the ABC's going until he falls back asleep. When he throws it out of his crib, he cries until we give it back to him. We are going to buy another one, just in case something happens to the one he has. It has been a life saver on so many occasions.

We bought this toy when my daughter was 6 weeks old. I held it up to show her in the store and she cried when I tried to put it back. We tried substituting the smaller dragon, but she could tell the difference so Dragon came home with us. At seven months, Dragon still gets smiles. She is just learning to play the music for herself and thinks it's a big treat when an older sibling entertains her with the puppet. Best of all, Dragon has been a lifesaver on long car trips when the music has stopped her crying and even put her to sleep.

I bought this toy at a local TJ Maxx and I'm glad I didn't pay full priceeven the $6.99 I paid was too much though. The music and scenes are cute, but neither of my year old twins have ever enjoyed playing with it and we've had it since they were about 5 mos old. One problem is that the button to change scenes and play music requires a pretty strong push for a baby. I thought maybe it was just that my twins were too young to figure it out, but now at a year they have been pushing buttons on toys for a while and they can't get this one down. It could be cute if the scenes and music played more easily. I wouldn't waste my money; there are lots of other toys that are more fun. The Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes is much better.

This toy only plays a song for a few seconds and must be activated again, for a very young child/infant it is cast aside for similar toys that play music for a minute or more. More than three scenes would make it more interesting also.

Bought this when I saw it on Amazon.com because my grandson loves things that spin. He gets frustrated with manual spinning tops because they eventually stop, so I thought this would be a cool item for him to watch. Since he is only 2 years old, it scared him at first because it started spinning quickly and got faster, then started changing design, etc. I had to stop it and put it away. As an adult, I think it's pretty cool so will bring it back out for him in a couple of months and see if he likes it at that time...perhaps let him start it up. It is a unique item, but not sure whether it's worth the cost or not. You definitely can't run it on carpeting, and I have some tiled flooring, but it would hang up on the grout so I would have to keep moving it. I'm not sure about running it on delicate furniture, especially wood, as it spins continuously in one space so it may make a mark on wood. I'm not sure what educational value it presents unless you want to display how a pattern can change when spinning. I guess it's just okay.

since this is strictly battery driven, it gets a bit boring after a while. There are tops that you have to do something other than flip a switch on and I think they are more fun. Obviously NEVER Stops is not true. Batteries do eventually run out, but the top definitely runs longer than I want to watch it. It is fun in the dark and has very interesting light patterns. It is a bit reminiscent of the craft that arrived in The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951). Klaatu barada nikto!!

Twins at 6 months found it good for teething. Now at 8 months They also like textures and page turning.

I got this for my 8-month-old who loves books and her other Plan Toys. I thought she would love it but we were both disappointed. The cover and back of the book are wood and the inside pages are fabric attached to each other by fabric strings and velcro. Because of this the book does not shut properly and is hard to turn the pages. My daughter was not interested in it at all. We love Plan Toys but, in my opinion, the price is too high for what it is. I would highly recommend the Plan Toys Butterfly Mirror. My daughter has loved it for months. It has a mirror and rattle wings and offers as much sensory stimulation as this book at a lower price.

Edushape 4" Sensory Balls, Set of 4, Colors May Vary

It's infuriating and misleading that these balls are marketed as "phthalate-free." That may be true, but it does NOT mean they are safe! They are made of PVC, a super toxic plastic that off-gases dangerous fumes and releases potentially carcinogenic chemicals! I don't know about you, but I do not want my baby chewing on that!

I had my suspicions about this product's safety when I noticed that the balls have that beach ball "smell." I checked, and, sure enough, discovered the PVC.

It's such a shame that a mother must do detective work in order to confirm the safety of her child's toys!

If you read the comments for this review, you will see a response from the manufacturer which states that the balls are in fact made with PVC, but that the PVC is "phthalate-free."

After a brief internet search, I discovered that phthalate-free vinyl (PVC, #3) is a small step in the right direction-but that does not mean that PVC itself is safe. The vinyl chloride used to make PVC is a known carcinogen. Furthermore, the manufacturing process creates and releases dioxins that can be dangerous to factory workers manufacturing the PVC and harmful to the environment. I encourage you to type the phrases "phthalate-free PVC," "PVC," and/or "vinyl chloride" into your search engine of choice. It is quite easy to find information about the safety of PVC and its manufacturing process.

While I do not have the means to test this product for toxicity (and therefore cannot say with 100% certainty that the balls could cause direct harm to children), I stand by my decision to avoid the product due to what I learned about the chemical components and manufacturing process for PVC-whether it contains phthalates or not. I hope the manufacturer will consider a natural rubber or silicone alternative to these balls, because I would gladly purchase them.

To close, I'd like to respond to a few commenters who have attacked my desire to protect my children from toxins. First, I think it's a shame to attack a mother who is trying to act in the best interest of her children... especially when your attack includes narrow-minded remarks about my being from California. If these comments actually reflect your world view, I feel sorry for you, and I forgive you. It's also apparent that you do not know the facts. I encourage you to read up on this topic! The Environmental Working Group is a great resource and provides links to the research that backs up the organization's claims. Sadly, many people have no idea that everyday products (toys, household cleaners, toiletries, etc.) can contain alarming levels of contaminants and chemicals that are KNOWN to be harmful to humans (proven carcinogens, neurotoxins, endocrine disruptors, etc.) and/or the environment. Some products even contain chemicals that have been banned in Europe and Japan due to their known toxicity.

Yes, it's impossible to avoid ALL toxins... even I admit that! But that fact should not excuse us from caring. It's impossible to completely protect children from injury, but does that mean that people who childproof their homes are paranoid California hippies? Certainly not.

It is my hope that more parents will voice their preference for non-toxic products, and that companies will respond to the rising demand. Until then, I'll be happy to clean my home with vinegar, purchase wooden toys, use body products with a low toxicity rating (btw, there is an authoritative and credible internet database with these ratings), and live with the "California hippie" accusations! You call this behavior "paranoid," but I call it "smart," "fact-based," "intentional." It is borne out of my love for my children, my body, and our planet.

I bought for my almost 3yr old boy who has SPD(sensory processing disorder) and he loves them, as does my 6 yr old son and myself. They are perfect for gripping, rolling, throwing, massaging and they are not sharp or harmful. I only gave 4 stars because it would have been better if they were all different sizes.

I got these for DS's 1st birthday. They are soft but spiky. They bounce and withstand chewing. Since the focus is on Sensory Integration these days I figured these balls would be great for all in the household.

They massage feet, too. :D

My 1 year old loves it when we take off his shirt and roll these down his back and sides. They are small enough for him to pick up with both hands and he loves the feel. The balls seem to be well made and have a valve like a basket ball to fill them with more air if desired. Recommend to anyone.

Got these for my daughter's first birthday. They are easy to pick up and hold, and interesting because of the bright colors and bumps. I think they are a good choice. I think another reviewer said something about the bumps being "sharp", but I don't think so. Perfectly fine for 6 months & up, I'd say.

I don't know how much I can say about a banner. It matches the rest of the Sesame Beginnings set. It was lightweight and stayed on the wall during the whole party. I had 2 of these. It was easy to take down and refold. They are durable enough to be reused.
