This toy was a huge hit this Christmas with all the kids. At our family gathering this was the one toy that was immediately taken out of the package and played with by all the kids up to age 7. I have the birdhouse version for my own child, we received it when she was about 9 months old, and it has been a favorite up to age 3! Highly recommended!

This "Put and Peek Doghouse" is one of our daughter's favorite toys. She's almost 13 months old now and has been playing with it for several months already. At first she would crawl around with the dog bone or one of the dogs (which have rattles inside) in her hands or mouth. Now she likes to drag the house around too (it has a great handle) and she really enjoys taking all of the dogs out through the roof and putting them all back in. Our son, who is almost three, likes playing with it too. He carries the doghouse around the house and puts other things in it. Great for imaginative play. Makes a great gift. Highly recommend!

This was given as a gift to our then 5-month old girl and is still being played with her today at 3 years old. At first she loved to look at it and hold the soft dogs and bone. As she could sit up, she would pull any and everything through the hole (lost your keys? check the doghouse :-) As she started walking, the house became a purse of sorts and she would tote it around the house constantly. She developed an attachment to the small bone and has slept with it every night for almost 3 years. It's her favorite 'lovey' and perfect to fit in small hands and occasionally her mouth (but not too small that I worry she'll choke on it). The dogs and the bone have been through the washing machine and dryer more times than I can count and come out perfectly.

We lost the bone on a trip and I called Manhattan Toy and they sent a replacement bone for free -how great is that customer service?

The best part -my 6-month-old son decided he liked the bone, too, and scooted his way across her floor to get it. Guess I'm buying a second one for him!

We bought the put and peek doghouse for our second daughter's first birthday. We also have the birdhouse, but my eldest daughter at four still plays with it so we needed to get the same toy, but a little different. Kids love putting things into holes -that's the basic concept of this toy. It's plush and well made and the dog figures are absolutely adorable. The bone included is not a big hit with either of my daughters, but it is a nice touch. My youngest daughter plays with this every single day and it's fun to see at the end of the day what other smaller toys have landed inside. My eldest daughter has converted her birdhouse into her 'backpack treasure kit' and takes it on all sorts of adventures. She's had it for three years and has played with it regularly and it still looks great. The put and peek house is truly an open-ended toy that grows with a child. If I had another baby, I would buy yet another one -it's hands down the best toddler toy we've purchased.

Adorable toy purchased for my one year old for Christmas, before the paper was off my 8 and 3 year olds had it in the other room and out of the box playing with it. Very easy for my youngest to assemble the pieces, and she likes pulling the mice along the bare floor without the track as well. The only improvements I would recommend to the manufacturer would be to make the magnet stronger and possibly include an extension for the cheese portion. My little one pulls the mice with the cheese on our hardwood floors, but unless she has her arm straight out the cheese won't rech the mouse (back and forth motions with her arms while walking cause her to lose her mice!) The magnet in the cheese could also be a little stronger, if the mice fall over or she tries to get them to make a sharp turn the mice come off. Otherwise a great toy my kids are thoroughly enjoying, and I would recommend for any child one and older.

Sesame Street Clicky Keys Teether Toy

I never write these because as a mother of twins, who has time, but I felt like parents needed to be warned about this unsafe product. It is designed as a teething toy. We have 6 total because my kids loved them so much. This morning, my husband called me in when he found our 8 month old daughter COVERED IN BLACK PAINT FROM THE MOUTH AND EYES OF ELMO! This is a toy designed, allegedly, to be put in their mouths. This should not happen. I am outraged! DO NOT BUY!

Parents beware! These is a very unsafe product. I give this to my 8 month old son who loves elmo, he was chewing away the next thing I new he had paint chips all over this face and teeth from elmos eyes. They are painted white. I would have thought that since this was a teething toy that they would not have painted parts of the toy and just made it with white plastic. Also the keys that hang from the ring have pictures in them they also get wet and now look gross. Please do not give this to to your children. NOT A SAFE TOY! DO NOT BUY!

My son loves Elmo and this is a cute Elmo toy. It doesn't seem to be a very satisfying teether though Elmo could be a little softer or chewier I think he would have liked it better. The actual 'chewy' parts are rather small so he was never very interested in it for that purpose. It does make a satisfying/distracting noise when shaken but doesn't hold his attention long, sadly.

I ordered this gift for a baptism since it had a cross ribbon attached and played the song "Jesus Loves Me". When I received the lamb in the mail, the ribbon was the only thing that looked like the lamb I ordered. The lamb also played "Rock A Bye Baby" even though the attached tags stated: "plays Jesus Loves Me". I was very disappointed and don't want to order another one because I fear I will get the same thing.

Even though it's called "child to cherish" i bought it, feeling kind of stupid because i'm 17. Anyway, I needed a piggy bank and it looks awesome on the shelf in my room! My children both love this stacking toy and spend as much time cuddling it as they do trying to pull it apart/restack it. The problem is the age range listed here (6-18 months) is totally unrealistic. The Velcro attaches so well that my son wasn't able to pull them apart until he was almost 3! So it's a fun toy, but don't expect your 6 month old to be able to separate the pieces without adult assistance.

Fisher-Price Little People Zoo Talkers Kangaroo Family Pack

California Costumes Wooly Mammoth Pet Costume

Good quality and holds shape well. Material is thicker, making so it doesn't fall "limp" like many other costumes. This is the best costume I have purchased, and I have purchased about 15 dog costumes in the past. Size large fit my 62lb english bulldog perfectly. Just something to consider when sizing by weight though is that an english bulldog is really compact and short. They have large chests, so a taller dog of a different breed will often have different proportions for their weight. The height was right on for a bulldog, so legs would not reach to ground of taller dog.

VTech Crazy Legs Learning Bug

We bought this for our daughter for Christmas last year when she was 9 months and it is still around a year later. It is definitely a cute toy but it can be very overstimulating for the child and I've finally realized that children learn most from simple one task toys. Each shape has multiple meanings and sounds. She can now put the shapes on and likes when she pushes down on the top bug and all the shapes pop out. I just wish it was quieter and less annoying!

I am a serious purger. If my kid has a birthday, you'd be better off getting us a membership to the zoo or Children's museum than buying a toy because chances are, in 3 months it will be in the "Give to Charity" box. This little bug was given to us about a year and a half ago and has survived multiple purgings. Kids of all ages like it from my youngest (7 months) to the day care kids that come to the house (4-5 years old). It's one of the first toys kids zone in on when they come to visit. I'm not sure what the other reviewers were talking about, because this has several songs and I don't find them annoying. The kids love when you push the center and all the shapes fall out. We have lost the ladybug on top long ago, but it's still a great toy. Easy for young ones to operate and complex enough for older toddlers to get some educational value out of it. It's a keeper!

This is a cute toy designed to look like a Mommy ladybug carrying a baby ladybug on her back, and it has a TON of features. From what I've been able to figure out so far, it has 2 modes, an "It's Learning Time" mode, labled with an open book, and a "Let's Explore" mode, labled with music notes. The Learning Time mode will say things like, "Where is the square?" and then make a clapping sound when the square is pushed. When you push the baby ladybug down, it will change from shapes to nature sounds to numbers. Each shape has a number and also a correlating number of nature pictures (one sun, three leaves, etc.). When you push each button it will either tell you the shape, the number, or a sentence using the nature picture, depending on the setting. This mode also has a few short songs and music. The "Let's Explore" mode is a mix of longer songs and silly sounds. There are two colored arcs that light up on the top of the toy, one on either side of the baby ladybug. The purple one, with pictures of nature things, will produce a sound effect when pressed in this mode, and the yellow one, covered with music notes, will cycle through the different songs. (In Learning Time mode, they produce the "Where is the...?" questions.)In addition, when the baby ladybug is held down and the toy is pushed across the floor, it makes a clicking sound and it will say various phrases, including "It's so nice to crawl with Mommy". (This one is particularly nice in my opinion, because crawlers tend to push the toy in this manner as they crawl around the room.)

The shape pieces are held on to the toy by an elastic string with coils around it, which keeps them from getting lost (Thank you, VTech!) and they're only long enough to go on the shape groove they're attached to and to reach the ones next to it only if the string is pulled out to its max. They seem a little hard to get lined up at first, but it's still easier than traditional shape balls and it's not to difficult to get used to. My 14-month-old twins have started being able to get the shapes in, and my two-year-old has been able to get them on ever since we got it around her birthday. When the baby ladybug is pushed down, it releases the shapes that have been latched on with a fun boingy sound. The shapes can also be pulled off, but you have to pull rather hard (though my twins can do it). The pull string is stored inside the battery compartment, so that it can be stored for crawlers and pulled out for walkers (another good idea by VTech, I believe). When the toy is pushed or pulled across the floor, the songs speed up, and when left alone they slow back down to normal speed. Also, it has an automatic shut-off feature that turns the toy off after only a couple of minutes of inactivity.

This toy is very durable and colorful, and all three of my children enjoy playing with it. I only have two real complaints, one minor and one a little more major that cost my review a star. My biggest complaint is that there is not a volume control, and its sounds and music are a little loud. The other thing is that when it is picked up off the floor by its string (something all kids will do sometimes, and mommies, too!), it is top-heavy and the whole thing turns upside-down. It's not a big problem, it doesn't hurt the toy, but toddlers have a hard time knowing how to turn it right-side-up again.

In all, I like this toy and I recommend it, but if you're looking for a toy that's not overloaded with features or is somewhat quiet, this is probably not the one for you.

This toy is great! Exactly what I expected from a VTech toy. It does carry a similar vibe to the Airplane toy and Laptop that they sell, but who cares? The kids love it and it's a different shape and does different things.

Some previous reviewers mentioned that the toy doesn't come with a pull string. I thought mine came without one also until I read the manual which told me that the pull string is stowed inside the battery compartment so that you can pull it out once your child is ready for it. This is actually a great feature because other pull string toys do not have this, so instead of my son pushing it around until he is ready, he just sits their chewing on the string.This is not the case with the crazy legs bug at all because the string isn't there yet.

I also want to mention that this toys is really a "grow with me" style toy. It specifies 12 months and up on the box but I could easily see how any child who is old enough to sit up could enjoy banging on it and having fun with the lights and sounds. Later on it becomes a useful push toy and then a pull toy. Let's face it, most kids won't have the aptitude to actually put the shapes in the correct slots until after 2 years of age, so this is actually a fantastic toy that could last a couple of years if the child doesn't break it.

My daughter got this toy for her 1st birthday and within the first few minutes she was already figuring out how to put the shapes in by herself. It is a great toy to stimulate a young child's mind. Within a couple days she could put all the shapes in by herself at one year old. The only downfall is that the toy is loud, and the sings are annoying. But, isn't that every infant toy? lol I just keep the sound off.

V-TECH SIT TO STAND PINK ACTIVITY WALKER

This toy is so UNsafe I don't even know where to begin...

When you have this toy in the STAND/Locked position it is the most unstable toy ever.

*If they are sitting and pull themselves up by grabbing on the purple handle, sometimes they will be successful and be standing and other times they will pull the whole thing right into their head/face.

*If they are standing, if they loose their balance at all this provides NO stability for them to correct themselves "and down will fall baby, Vtech Walker and all"

*If they are standing and holding onto this if they pull back for whatever reason they will fall straight back onto their head(like when a tree falls) and sometimes they will let go of the walker as they are falling but other times they will still be holding onto the walker as they fall and hit their head and then get a double whammy when this toy comes falling into them as well.

*The bottom back bar is quite inviting for little ones to stand on while they hold onto the top and this thing will fall quicker than you can blink an eye.

When you have this toy in the STAND/WALK position:

*If they are just standing there and lean forward or back in the slightest, this thing is going to roll so fast out from under your little one and they are going down again.

*If they put any weight into this thing at all this thing flies out from under them.

When you have this toy in the SIT position:

*The toy is not quite as unstable in this mode but if your little one is trying to pull themselves up at all...you guessed it, this thing will very often tip right over, either your little one will fall on top of this or it will fall on them or it will start to tip and your little one falls and hits their head on the way down.

When you have just the toy(not on the stand) I guess it is safe enough but then again if this is on the floor and they put weight onto it this is going to slide and it is hard plastic and they can hit their heads on it.

All of these are from personal experience with my twins & my best friends daughter. All 3 girls can pull themselves up very well & adult supervision was always right there. I only ever let my girls play with this if I am sitting right behind them so I can catch them but I usually have this toy put up because I don't like my daughters crying when they get hurt using this toy.

I recommend getting one of the learning tables, my girls have one and they love it, it is very stable. And look into another walker that is a heavier base and wont tip so easily. Read the reviews on the original one of these, I think it was a yellow color...most reviews say UNSTABLE.

We saw this at a local toy store while browsing and bought this on a whim because my 11 month old seemed to like pushing the buttons. After assembling this walker, I realized how unstable and potentially dangerous this can be. As you can see from the video, my daughter is able to pull herself up to standing but is still learning how to walk while holding onto objects. I have this leaning against our couch so that it doesn't tip over but you can see how easily the walker moves against her weight. With the locks on, the wheels don't move at all but if a child continues to push against it, the walker will tip over. Without the locks, this goes way too fast, even on a rug. Read the reviews for this toy in the nongender specific color and you'll also see many complaints about this being unstable. The only way I can see this walker being appropriate is for a child who is able to stand independently without holding on and is able to take a few steps on their own. We took this back to the local toy store.

My daughter loves this toy. We just got this yesterday for her 1st birthday. I hate that she loves this toy, because I am hoping to get the gift receipt to take it back. The "Mom of twins" review from September 14, 2009 giving it one star is accurate. We were right there supervising, watching her pull herself up to this toy in the standing/locked position, and she fell, and it fell on her. When we stood her to the toy, she liked playing with it just fine, but she's still unstable on her feet and tried to fall forward (my husband caught her). We watched the toy try to fall forward with her. She either would have fallen on top of it, or fallen to the side with it crashing on top of her. This is NOT A SAFE TOY.

I do not like Amazon's new star system of ranking. My daughter loved it so I have to give "fun" 5 stars. It seemed educational for her level, so I have to give that at least 4 stars. Discounting stability, it seems like it's otherwise quite durable. But I can't discount stability, so it gets 3 stars. But I cannot in good conscience recommend this toy, so it overall gets 1 star.

My daughter LOVES this toy. I think all of the problems from the previous review were caused by purchasing this toy too early. The key here is supervision. My daughter is 9 months and about to walk on her own, but I still don't let her walk with this toy by herself; I hold onto the bar and walk along with her to keep her from going too fast. When your child is learning how to pull up/stand/walk you don't just let them go free range alone. Use some common sense and you will love this toy. And it was half the price at TRU.

Ok so My daughter is 11 1/2 months old and we got this toy when she was around 10 1/2 months old. At first I could not let her walk with it by herself I would put my foot in front of it to slow it down but now that she knows how to use it she is moving around the house. I never likes the sit in walkers it seemed to defeat them learning how to walk. But she is still not walking by her self but with this she is.

As far as it toppling over I would say they need to learn how to walk with it. I taught my daughter by slowing it down and now she does it on her own all the time.

My daughter is 6 months old and really enjoys this toy. She likes to spin the bird and the lion's mane. She isnt quite coordinated enough yet to push the monkey, but its just a metter of time. The cute sounds and lights reward her and keep her interested for 10-15 minutes.

Great little thing to hang in the crib for baby to play with. Not too loud, cute soft attachments.

My Daughter loved this toy as an infant and would continue to enjoy it but I had to take it away. As her fingers got just a little bigger (around 14 months), they get stuck under the lions mane. If you buy this for your infant, be sure to take it away before the fingers can get stuck.

Garanimals Pop & Lock Animals Chain

I agree with the previous post! Several of ours have broken off, and they create a real choking problem. This was actually the reason I got online today--to see if anyone else has had the same problem. Do not purchase these for your child!! I'm surprised there has not been a recall yet--I guess it'll take a child dying before they take them off the shelves.

These snap bead animals were adorable, so I couldn't wait to share them with my toddler. While I was showing her how to gently pull them apart, one of the plastic connecting tabs cracked and nearly disconnected from the body of one of the animals. I reported this choking hazard to the retailer (Wal-Mart) and the CPSC. For safety's sake, resist the cuteness factor and go with a version from a different manufacturer (like Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics: Snap-Lock Beads 12 Shapes).

My toddler loves these! I can't compare to the other reviews that said the tabs broke off of, because my daughter prefers to play with them separated. She carries them around as her little animal friends, or likes to stick one on each of her fingers and wave them around. We've had them for two years now and do occasionally link them all up. Ours seem perfectly sturdy and have no issues.

My son received this as a gift and had it torn apart within the first hour. Really shoddily put together and breaks easily. But he loved it for a short time, so I'm going to replace it with a real Magna Doodle.

The magnetic board broke down within a few weeks so only faint lines appear when it's drawn on. The animal magnets are unique and it looks like it would be higher end than the fisher price brand doodlers, but it's not! Don't waste your money, my recommendation is to try a different brand.

We asked for this as a christmas gift because we have the fisher price version and love it. But with 2 kiddos it has been hard to make them share it and not let the 2 year old erase my older son's drawings. We have a lot of this brand's toys since we love the the great colros and so far the quality is great. So we thought this would be similar but it isn't at all. The pen included makes a super light mark even going over it multiple times. We have the one that said straonger pen tip too! The shapes also make super light outlines and the erasing is the worst, it takes 3 times to make it disappear. disappointed in this toy buy the fisher price version.

This is the weakest magnetic doodle item I've seen. The drawing is barely visible. Quite disappointing. The second-hand 'doodle' (another brand) that we bought from a thrift store puts the screen to shame.

Though the product looks good and seems value for money with lot of additional features, it fails as a sketch board.

1. The write pad is not flat

2. Drawing vanishes(lightens considerably) in an instant.

3. The animals are hard to remove by kids.
