Melissa & Doug Large Shapes Jumbo Puzzle

I just purchased this puzzle for my 16 month old daughter who enjoys it. However, the colors of the plug and the hole are supposed to match and they don't. Some are just very different shades and two are different colors altogether (purple versus blue/ orange versus red). Since color recognition is a fundamental aspect of this puzzle, this seems to be a significant flaw.

I also found as another reviewer did that the pieces don't seem to have been removed and cleaned after the jig cut them out. There is particle board dust that seems to keep wearing off with continued use even after it is cleaned with a damp cloth. This can be considered a small trade off for the price of the toy since it is so functional and educational.

However, the only concern I have with the dust is whether there are any chemicals from glue or other materials that might have some degree of toxicity. The pieces are in no way deteriorating of crumbling apart; there is just dust that my daughter found fascinating and began licking off her fingers.

The pegs to hold the pieces are perfect. The pieces fit well, not too loose, not too tight. I really like this puzzle for my daughter and hope that I can get it exchanged for one that has accurately corresponding colors.

We have a lot of different puzzles for our daughter and this is our favorite. The background is simple and doesn't distract from the placement of the pieces. The wooden knobs are easy for her to grasp and the pieces are simple shapes and colors that she can recognize and easily put where they belong. She's learning colors and shapes from our "play" with this puzzle and doesn't get frustrated with it like she does with some other puzzles. I highly recommend this puzzle.

We were so happy to have received this as a gift for our daughter. However, there is not one piece that correctly goes into place. The circle, which you would assume would be the easiest piece to place (since there are no edges) is the hardest to place, because of the notch that was made to cut out the circle. The remaining pieces (excluding the oval and rectangle) should fit in any direction, however they are only cut to fit one way. For instance, the square (4 right angles) should fit in any direction, but it only fits one way. We are highly disappointed in this company.

While this puzzle is educational and my 1 year old daughter loves to play with it, it is NOT solid wood as the manufacturer claims. It is made with particle board. It came full of saw dust, too. The pictures are like stickers and I can already see them peeling off after 1 week bc my daughter puts the pieces in her mouth. What 1 year old doesn't? If it was actually ALL solid wood and painted with non-toxic paint, it would be better and I would have given it 4 or 5 stars then.

My 13 month old son loves this, but I unfortunately have to echo the comments that it's poorly made. The saw dust went away after a bit, and I can live with the fact that the pieces can sometimes be difficult to put in, but the biggest problem is that my son is chewing the paper off the top of the pieces. It's kind of shocking actually, that they would manufacture a product that could be chewed away so easily when the product is geared toward children that are likely to put things in their mouths! I'll probably end up throwing it out shortly, but I'm hoping to find a replacement from a different company before I do. Bottom line is that I would never buy this again or gift it to anyone I cared about.

Step 2 Sizzlin' Shapes Kitchen

I like Step 2 products in general. The big components of their toys are still made in the USA and that is a big plus for me. I bought this for my daughter's 1st birthday. Its cute, but she never really showed much interest in it.

Although, now that she is almost 2, I think she plays with it a little more. She cracks me up with some of the things I find tucked into the microwave or in the refrigerator. She enjoys putting things in the sink and refrigerator and watching them tumble out and the shape sorter is a great. Her favorite thing about it, naturally, is thedifferent noises it makes.

Overall, a nice product from a good company. I would have given it 5 stars if it held my daughter's attention a little bit more, but I think it just depends on your kid.

Gave as gift to granddaughter at 16 months old. This is the first toy she runs to when she visits every time for the past year. She is now almost 2 1/2 and is getting too big for it but still loves it. What she loves the most are the electronic sounds -the sizzle when she sets a pan on the burner and the water sound when she pushes button on sink faucet. I've been looking for a bigger kitchen and am disappointed that I cannot find a larger kitchen with the water sound feature. The only thing disappointing with the kitchen is the refrigerator -the shelves are barely there and round so that nothing can sit on them and therefore is useless. But, this doesn't matter to granddaughter because she is happy using the stovetop, sink, and microwave.

My wife love this furr maltese, it really looks like the dog. I don't give it five because the face could be made a little more real. However, it is a good purchase. It does not look cheap like similar products.

Kushies Zolo Folio

I bought this book for my twin grandchildren (now 9 months old). The four pages for photos were just right for mommy, daddy, and one for each baby. Of course, the book goes in their mouths first. They do turn the pages and look at the photos. I think that they will discover how to remove the photos from under the plastic page soon.

I bought this for a class project, not a baby/child. Note that there is no velco to close the photo pocket so I'm thinking any child with a pincer grasp could get the photos out. Also, it's a tight fit for 4x6 photos.

Most of all, the colors are not a vibrant as shown online. But overall, awesome product.

This is the perfect first picture album! Even without pictures it captured my 5 month old's attention and she is so happy when it is in her hands. Her favorite part is the tag of course! The bright happy faces and patterns are great and it is a great way to help babies establish recognition of family and friends who they may not see every day. It is a little spendy but worth the money in my opinion. I even put it through the wash (prior to pictures being put in) and it came out fine (skipped the dryer though).

I am really happy with these flash cards. They are what I was looking for. They are nice and sturdy and my daughter loves them. I didn't realize how hard it was going to be to find flashcards with real animal pictures. Most have cartoons. They also have good facts on the back for her l to learn as she gets older.

What I like about these flashcards is the parental/teacher instructions that come with them. They help you think outside the box when asking your child to make identifications. So, rather than just asking your child to identify what the animal is, you can ask, What color is the animal? or you can lay 3 cards down and ask them to identify, Which animal has fur? or Which animal lives in the water? or What animal lives in nests? or what sound does a peacock make? (which, by the way, is a high and long pitched squeal.) These fashcards have pictures of actual animals rather than drawings which I also prefer. It makes learning more accurate.

I bought this toy for my son which is our third child. Trust me there are enough toys in the house already (many of them girl toys from his sister) but I still thought it was worth it! As a special education teacher of young children, I regularly use the basics (ring stackers, shape sorters, balls, books, blocks) as they have undeniable educational value. I felt this toy was a great addition to my collection as it offers so many opportunities to talk and interact with a child while teaching basic concepts and language skills. You can match the the bugs to the outside flower color or to the color on the inside base of the flower. Great put and take play but so much more so than with a bucker that gets filled and dumped with this toy, you develop vocabulary and science skills with dumping, dropping, rolling, jiggling (and flinging off the flower) and most of all peek-a-boo with hiding the bugs under the leaf that flips up. If your kids aren't the type who put the pieces all back with the toy and place it carefully on the toy shelf, you can always substitute another small toy in place of the bugs until they turn up. Watching a child play with this offers ways to interact with them hiding and finding the bugs teaches problem solving and memory. Sometimes toys are hard for me to talk about as we play driving toy cars around, for instance, or trains on a track, I get kind of stumped, but with this kind of toy I can keep talking uh-oh, where did it go? there it is, get it! good job! Sometimes you don't realize that kids are learning unless you really look, and then you realize they become frustrated trying to hold three bugs because they only have two hands and have not yet figured out what to do about that. Or they are trying to hold three bugs AND lift up the leaf to hide one of them, and again they are short an extra hand. This too is learning and problem solving! I don't have much use for so-called educational toys that require the child to press buttons and practice the alphabet, for example. It's nice but it doesn't replace interacting with objects, and even more important, with people! So choose a toy like this instead (and sit on the floor and play with them!)

I bought this for my 8-month-old daughter. She loves to have a "buggie" in the flower pot and make it swing back and forth. And, of course, she is teething, so she likes to chew on the plastic bugs (which are way too big to be a choking hazard)! I can see that as she gets older, she will be able to play with it more. My 2-year-old son thinks it's pretty fun, too!

I read a lot about the importance of children having a baby doll both boys and girls, and a lot of the dolls out on the toy market seemed aimed at little girls, and I wanted something unisex/culturally diverse so I was happy to find Basket of Babies.

I like this brand a lot so I was happy to buy a wood alternative to all the plastic sorting boxes out there. I am happy with the colours and quality, and I suppose the compact size is nice for a baby just starting to sit. Baby likes holding and chewing on the blocks so far...we'll get to the sorting eventually.

This is a very sturdy sorting toy made by wood. Only downside I can see with it is that it makes a lot of noise when you drop the first pieces in since they are solid wood blocks.

We received this a a gift after our baby was born. She is 6 months. She has been playing with it now for about 1 month. She has not yet figured out to sort the shapes out but once in a while she gets lucky with the cylinder. She enjoys the colors and of course licks and chews on them. The still look good as new. She likes knocking the shapes together and likes grabbing the box. She will sit and play by herself for 1 hour. The product is made in Sweden. It is very durable and safe for kids to use. The only thing that worries me a bit is that it is hard and that it may hurt her if she fell on it or accidentally hit herself with it. Overall, great product. Raw Beans Shape Baltic Amber Teething Necklace

I have trusted, knowledgable people who highly recommend baltic amber for teething babies. I shopped for many days before deciding on this product. I loved the mixed colors. The necklace arrived on time and in good condition.

However, I was very disappointed in the size of the beads. Looking at the picture I was expecting the beads to be much larger. The necklace I received is obviously not the necklace in the picture. The last bead on the bottom is the clasp and it shows the beads to be that size and larger. Not true in my product. The beads of my necklace are half the size, at best, of the clasp.

That said I will keep the necklace, because I have no idea how to return it to another country. At the end of the day I expect it will still have good results regardless of the size of the beads. Unfortunately I will not order from this site again..

Playskool Chuck Fold-n-Go Construction Quarry Playset

My son got this for christmas in 2009 along with several other chuck and friends playsets including the garage and firestation. This is the only play set of those 3 that we still currently own and my son plays with it fairly often. It's very sturdy and doesn't have any pieces that are detachable and it folds into a pretty convenient size so I can slip it easily in the closet when I'm rotating toys. It's also pretty easy to use and even when my son was younger (18 months or so) he could easily play with this toy independantly without any frustrated cries for help.

Don't bother with the other "Fold-n-go" sets, my son has the fire station and the mechanics garage in addition to this one. He enjoys playing with them all, but the other 2 have ramps that come off way too easily, so I am constantly having to snap them back on (instead of him playing happily while I get dinner cooked or fold laundry). The quarry didn't look as interesting to me as the other 2, but he enjoys it and it doesn't have pieces that fall off requiring constant maintenance. Bonus. I don't see it holding his attention for much longer (he's 2 1/2 now) but it was worth the $14 I paid for it. WARNING: I have seen this toy sell for as much as $30 and it is not worth that much!

My little boy is a busy, busy dude. I saw this and scoffed at it thinking, "This will keep his attention for about five minutes." My husband insisted on getting it and I don't mind admitting that I was wrong. My 2.5 year old loves this toy. Education wise there's nothing outstanding about it but for some reason he finds this toy a lot of fun even though it doesn't do much and it's the same short reptetitive play. We had given our baby a wooden rattle when she was about 3 months old. She would hold it and chew on it and shake it. Based on that experience, we figured that she would enjoy something more advanced when her grip was a bit better. We gave her these maracas when she was about six months old. She LOVES them. She gets so excited when we take them out and shake them before handing them to her (usually one at a time for now). She does chew them at times so I hope the plastic covers are sturdy enough, but mostly she shakes and boogies to the noise they make. A great toy for a little girl that seems to love making her own music.

Tiny Love Take Along Mobile

My 9 week old son just loves this mobile so much. He refused to stay in his pack n play bassinet while awake until I set this up for him. I think he likes this one more than the Precious Planet one in his crib. He talks to it and tries to bat at the little animals. Definitely one of the best purchases I have made. I also clip the mobile onto his car seat if we are out somewhere or to calm him down when getting ready to leave home. The music is not annoying either and volume on it is also great.

It's not the cutest mobile or the largest mobile ever, but for our purposes, we LOVE it! It fit great on the cradle until our infant moved into the crib. It went smoothly from the cradle to the crib the attachment is great. I think it helped the transition from beds as well. It fits onto the pack and play well which I think helps him still feel secure with the familiar mobile no matter which "bed" he's in.

I LOVE that you can choose between movement with music or JUST movement (no sound). I think all the mechanical/electronic mobile music sounds are always way too loud. The movement sound, which it does make, is simply like a white noise. I actually like the white noise it creates, because I think it helps drown out some of the bustling household noises during nap times for him.

I was hoping for a beautiful mobile that would coordinate with the decor, and it's sort of tacky-baby-toyish in that way. It's also sort of small sized mobile and the the toys are sort of cute. However, the functionality is great and he REALLY loves watching it and falling to sleep watching it, which is really it's purpose anyway!

I am thoroughly pleased with this product and I'm sure my wife and daughter would agree. Everything was as expected. We already have one mobile on our daughter's crib upstairs and wanted to have another downstairs since her wind up one broke. With the attachments, it can be put almost anywhere. Currently, we have it attached to the Rock N' Play with the arm. When we leave, we just un-velcro it from the arm and attach it to the car seat (Chicco Keyfit 30); it's great. I was afraid it was going to hang to far down in the car seat to where it was going to be in her face, but it is not; it's right where it should be. Music and battery life is good to go so far. We have been running Rayovac batteries for about 2 or 3 weeks now and it seems to still be going strong. We like it and it entertains our daughter. I recommend this product.

I like that this is portable, and I usually like the "tiny love" brand, but the mobile moves too slow, and there is no way to secure the arm from swinging around (we like to use it in the car to help distract and upset baby). Since the arm swings around, a parent has to hold it if you use it in a moving vehicle. On the positive side, I like that you can shut the music off and my 2-3 month old is entranced by the mobile.

This mobile fits nicely on my Arm's Reach Mini Co-sleeper just make sure you put the mobile right over the middle (and thickest) part of the ledge. It's been with my daughter since birth, and she's now 4 months old. It took a little bit of getting used to (probably about 1 month), but the soothing music is now a great help in putting her to sleep. I took off a star from the rating because the switch that changes between the OFF/Music/Mobile Only positions is hard to flip with one hand. I tried to do that a few times with my free hand while I have my daughter in my other arm, and I ended up almost knocking the mobile over. Also I wish there was volume control on this thing. Fisher Price Roll-a-Rounds Swirlin Surprise Gumballs

I got this for my seven-month old and he immediately loved it. It took him no time to learn how to press the blue handle down and get one of the peek-a-rounds gumballs to come out. The top only has room for four or five of the peek-a-rounds (it comes with four: teddy bear, candy, lollipop and ring), so I had to stand by and continuously put more on the top as he pressed the handle. Whenever the handle is pressed, the gumball machine plays a short tune. It also has a switch to turn the songs off or control the volume. There is a yellow turn handle at the front that makes a clicking noise when turned. My son really likes that too. One reviewer said this handle was hollow and dangerous. Mine is not hollow, so perhaps it was changed (for the better!). One thing I don't like about this toy is that it doesn't have a very solid base; my son easily, and frequently tips it over. That doesn't seem to detract from his fun though.

I loved the look of this toy! What a great idea---little balls with toys inside, much like the Peek-a-Blocks, but round, and a toy gum machine to put them in! My baby was not quite as excited, however. She figured out quickly how to push the lever, but didn't really seem to put it all together to be interested in a ball rolling out, or in putting a ball in. That might come along---it's a lot of steps for a baby to follow. She likes the sound it makes when the lever is pushed, and how we all clap when she figures out how to push it, but it's her 7 year old brother who plays the most with this! He loves seeing how many balls he can fit in the top, and watching them roll out. That's great, because WATCHING this at work entertains the baby a lot, and that's a great thing in a baby toy.

Although it's not a flaw of the toy, if you buy extra balls to use with this, there is not really any storage room for them, and if you have a house like mine, balls do tend to roll away! They also get easily flung by babies, and this seems like one of the toys that will someday end up being without accessories---just the machine. Perhaps most houses are more organized than mine...

Overall, a lot of fun, a good value and another well thought out FP toy.

We got this toy as a Christmas present when our son was three months old. He is now a year and is still enchanted with it. I bought this in Pink for my 9 month old since she loves playing with my cell phone, and I thought it looked pretty realistic. She is not interested in this toy. Plus, the buttons aren't that sensitive, so it's difficult for her to get it to make any of the noises. This phone says three phrases: "Hello, hola," "How are you? Como estas?" and "Goodbye, Adios." There is no Spanish setting; it says the English first followed by poorly pronounced Spanish. It also makes a dialing sound and musical ringing sound. On the plus size, the mirror isn't quite as distorted as most that are used for baby items, and it closes and opens slowly so as not to pinch little fingers. FYI: I purchased this on Amazon for $9.99. I would check Walmart first for a better price.

Bought this phone so my 6 month old would stop freaking out when I talked on the phone and she couldn't have mine. Its a great phone, but she was not fooled. I think she likes how mine closes with kind of a snap shut. and this one has a smooth close hinge. Meaning no pinched fingers or surprises. She playes with it some.

My 15 month old daughter has had lots of play phones, but this one is the best. Its lite and easy for her to pick up and open. She could open it when she was 8 months old. Its easy to hit the buttons also. It plays songs, makes dialing noises and speaks. It has a mirror also. This is definitely her favorite one. Its not annoyingly loud either. I had to buy her another one on amazon because I lost the first one and I honestly could not find another phone that was even comparable to this one. Cant find it at WalMart anymore. Great little phone!

My 6 month old is always grabbing at my phone so I thought she would like this toy. She loves it and plays with it all the time. The Spanish phrases are very cute and I hope she will eventually pick up on them.

Cute product with nice little ringtones when babies push the buttons, but this product is NOT bilingual. Whoever did the speaking for the recording has a HORRIBLE accent and should honestly be embarrassed. Infantino should be embarrassed. We have a fully bilingual household (my husband is a native Spanish speaker and I am 100% fluent), and I really wish I could turn off the "biligual" part of this phone it does more harm than good, and I truly hope that Infantino will fix this.

Well made and nice little carrying case, my 4 year old loves The Incredibles, Monsters inc., TS, and Nemo so this was a no brainer for bath play time. Just be sure to squeeze all the water out after bath and occasionally use a water vinegar mix to clean out the insides so you protect from and mold growth.

My son is 20 months old. This bath toy pack is of all his favorite character at the moment. The only problem I have is that when he's done with his bath he doesn't want to leave them in the bathtub. Instead he wants to bring them into his room to continue playing.

I purchased 2 pixar bath sets, but received only 1 set , and I received a disney bath set instead of a 2nd pixar bath set. The size is perfect for my 1 yr old son.it's safe,fun and educational toy for little kid.

My girls choose this over the regular ball they have. I don't find the spikes to be sharp either. None of my children or any I have ever seen play with one of these has ever gotten hurt in any way by this ball. I would recommend this for sure.

Item is as described: is basically a larger sized ball with nubbins on it that are easier for a little one to use when grabbing a ball. I didn't find the points particularly sharp. It's a good starter ball to throw around the house when you have a kid learning to toss around a ball. The picture on the box even shows a kid sitting on his ball (it'd be small, but they could do it), and I could see it standing up to that kind of abuse. Seems durable.
